They are very good at solving our plumbing and water heater needs. Quick and courteous service.

I'm editing my review because I was accused of name calling.

Here is the new review: They bid a job, did half of it, got paid, promised to finish it when I opened an access route for the pipe. I made the access and then they refused to come and finish the job because they had already spent too much time on it.

I would not trust them with any work.

Charged me $148.76 to show up and tell me they can't fix my no water issues....$37 check valve and I fixed it myself!  Who charges $148+ for an estimate!!!!

The lady that answers the phone is always rude. Pretty sure her name was Sandy. We will never call again. We'll use a different plumbing company going forward just so we don't have to deal with her condescending tone and attitude. We've called twice for different issues in the last couple of months and were told both times that they couldn't schedule for a couple of days. Both issues that we needed addressed urgently. They're too busy or short staffed to accommodate urgent needs of their customers. Called a different company and they were able to come right away. Never calling again. Work on your customer service skills, Sandy, or Karen, whatever your name is.

They are great at what they do. I have had them do work for me for over 25 years, and the HVAC and plumbing service are top notch. They have even taken care of me in a emergency , and have showed up when they said they would. There prices are very fair for the services that they offer, that is why I have used them ,

They have worked on my furnace and have installed a gas pipe for my new stove, which meant crawling under my house to get to it.  Both job were done very well and on-time.

As of this morning I am calling in to report for the second time of my faucet leaking under my kitchen sink. I had it installed 5 months ago but when I asked if there was a guarantee on the workmanship, I was told they would first need to see if it was their problem. This was 7/11/2016. I was asked a barrage of questions to go along with it. Like where is it leaking from....ahhh from the faucet hose?? I guess at $90 an hour maybe they could figure it out as I just have a puddle under my sink and a wet spot now on my drywall below.
As of this morning as it leaked again all weekend long. I again, was rudely treated over the phone by another staff member.  Yes, I am upset. I have been sopping up water under my sink all weekend long.
NEVER, EVER will they be working at my home again and I am writing this review to save the next homeowner from having this happen to them. Boy, you can tell when the economy is back. There goes simple manners and just good service.
Stay away from PPH.
Update 7/18, after response:. I now am told that the product that was fixed by Bob 7/11, is defective. Asked why it is leaking again, was told again, it was fixed yeah doesn't make sense to me either....... they wouldn't state the product was defective again, as I mentioned insurance might needed to be involved. When asked again they made it a point, said they wouldn't be coming out again to fix, because Bob fixed it. So RUDE!    Wow!

Now, I get to deal with a insurance claim.   What a mess. Defective product or not, wouldn't you know looking at it 5 days earlier? Maybe suggest it maybe verses having a homeowner deal with another water leak? After all, I guess Bob has 20-30 years of experience or more, that he might be able to tell. I will see if the docs I asked for are actually received.

Regardless, Kohler Company is replacing the product,  ( so buy quality Kohler)with a fedex rush and I will have new product and a double bill for the labor as I chose the wrong local company to deal with. Shop Local  has screwed me this time around. Looking for an independent that actually cares about the client and his/her work.
This is the Yelp only I have ever written. I thought the ending would be better. But happy I did if I saved another working mother the same frustration and hard earned money.

After 30 years of service with Prairie Plumbing both as business and residential  I was refused service today. I had emergency had all set up for them to come and clear my lines for septic. After some time they called back and said we cannot service you. No reason was given for refusal. I have always paid my bills and paid them over $30,000 over the years for work. I am perplexed as to why they will not give me service or tell me why? I would not recommend this company for any plumbing! When chips are down they drop the ball and are extremely expensive besides. As a gay couple we are always concerned when service is refused and we are in good standing with the community and respected for a business leader and philanthropist.

My water pipes froze and broke.  I live in a very old manufactured home.  since it is just a summer home, i asked the plumber to install new pex piping and insulate it and attach it to the bottom of our home.  He confirmed and said they would do that.
They said they would be back in 2 days because violent weather was forecast.  The day they were to come they did not.  I called and they said they had emergency repair calls to go to.  I had to leave and they said they would do the work the following week.
They did do the work, but i could not inspect it until i returned from Florida.  When i looked under there, i saw the new piping, no insulation and they did not seal the places the piping penetrated the floor.
I called Prairie Plumbing  on Monday to ask why the work i asked for was not completed.  The lady on the phone said she would ask the plumber and let me know.
It is Thursday and i had to call them because no one called me.  The woman on the phone was rude and hung up on me when i asked why no one called and why the work requested was not done.
Ill call someone else next time!

A water main broke in my home and it went downhill from there. Target called in a tree service to take down a tree on city property, but did not tell the city. I was out on the street with the city and the tree company without water watching them discuss who would pay. The response of the company.m? We don't get between the customer and the other company. They never once said that I had to tell the city. I was told they had contacted the city. Nope, they had not and surely the city was not pleased. Then the pipe leaked in the basement. Two plumbers came to check and both said you need cement around the pipe. Neither said there is cement around the pipe. Which is what their office just said. Both plumbers said that it needs to be dug up and fixed. They refused. Now it's my problem because I need to landscape. Use this company at your own risk.

About two months ago we needed our air conditioner serviced. They arrived within several hours and fixed everything to our satisfaction. The tech mentioned we needed an new/different type of filter. He said he could install it but I could get one a lot cheaper at any of the big box stores. After an exhausted search for the missing baffles and replacement filter, I decided too just purchase the right one directly from their shop. They had what I needed in stock. Last week On one of the hottest days of the year the capacitor blew on the unit. I called them at 7:00am and the tech showed up at 7:30am. We had cool air by 8:00 am. Our experience is reflected by the five stars. From the the counter staff, to the receptionist, to the techs, we are grateful for their terrific service and reasonable prices.

We purchased both our furnace and air conditioner from Prairie Plumbing and Heating. Installation went fine but getting an appointment for routine servicing is impossible. After three cancelations, we finally had to go elsewhere. Several excuses given but zero results. After number three I asked for some consideration on the billing due to the fact that we both work and must take off time for service appointments, but I was told no. Go elsewhere. After the sale service is poor.

We recently moved into a new home and our water heater started leaking. We have a UHP home warranty so we called them to have this issue addressed. UHP unfortunately chose Prairie Plumbing and Heating as our contractor to install our new water heater. We set up the appointment to have the water heater fixed, and we asked the serviceman how much the water heater he was installing cost as we had absolutely no choice in which heater we got, to which he responded I don't deal with the numbers. UHP covers the first $1,000 of the new heater and we are responsible for the rest. When we got our bill from Prairie Plumbing and Heating the water heater they installed was $1,238 alone, which is absolutely outrageous for the water heater itself. I think what is most disappointing about this experience overall is their absolute lack of interest in customer satisfaction. When I called to ask about why I was given such an expensive water heater they didn't so much as offer an apology, stating they told us it would be between $1700-$1800 (which they most certainly did not) and when I said I was contacting the better business bureau their response was OK. Be wary when using this company and be sure you insist on knowing the costs beforehand!

I have used the services of Praire Plumbing for 21 years. Their service  has been outstanding, professional and responsive to emergency service. They have serviced our water softener, our well when it developed a leak, our well pump when old age caused its failure, our iron filter any a few other minor plumbing issues. As a retired physician and at the age of 75 I have dealt with a variety of plumbing services at  prior residences in the Chicago area as well as the greater Milwaukee area and all I can say is that it has been aa most pleasant experience in all  of our interactions with Praire  Plumbing
