Brian was great and was upfront on costs and expectations of our water heater repair. Brian fixed the water heater and was on-time. I would use them again.

While I have no complaints about speed, as he was here almost immediately, I have big complaints about the value of his work. He charged me 600 dollars plus tax for a job that took less than an hour and utilized at most (and this is a very generous estimate) 100 dollars in parts. He's a very friendly looking and sounding guy, however he also knows exactly how to play it. Beware.

Poor customer service. Called for an estimate and was told that there would be a $59 fee that would be credited to my account if I accepted the estimate. Told him that I was checking around and other plumbers were willing to provide an estimate without charging a fee and he hung up on me. Don't waste your time on this guy.

Today is Wednesday night.  We had been without a water heater since early Saturday.  2 friends of the family had looked at it and couldn't find the problem.  It was time to call a professional.  My fiance scheduled an appointment with a heating and cooling company that said they could fix the problem.  They came out at 1pm and basically said, Sorry you need to call a plumber.  She was frustrated.  She had explained over the phone what the problem was...why did they schedule the appointment?  So I think fast from work.  I look up Water Heater Repair on Yelp in the Milwaukee area.  3 companies come up which are all actually one company.  Cudahy Plumbing, Service Now, and B. Bohmann Plumbing.  All three companies are part of the Bohmann Plumbing Company.

I call and get through right away to B. Bohmann himself.  He can get someone out to our house today.  Just needs my fiance to call him with some info from the water heater.  She does that and is told someone will be out by 4pm.  There is a charge for the home service call and also a separate charge for the diagnostic tests they will run on the water heater.  Ok fine.  We just want it fixed.

The technician shows up on time and runs the tests.  My fiance is told that we have a faulty gas valve and it will cost 400 and some odd dollars to replace...but...he doesn't have one and we will have to wait till tomorrow.  (Their website says, Stocked Service Vehicles - Our rolling shop comes to your home fully stocked and equipped to perform the needed repairs. No running around town for parts wasting your time!)  Ummmm...no.

She wants it taken care of today.  With the replacement of the gas valve cost plus the home service fee plus the diagnostic test fee she asks what it would  cost to replace the whole water heater.  Oh sure.  He has one in his truck.  He quotes her a price.  Fine.  She'll take it.  How long till it's in?  Oh that's a 2 hour job.

A couple of hours after the appointment started she calls me.  He can't get the old water heater out.  It's too heavy and there are pipes that are too close.  He is banging it all around trying to get it out and he can't do it.  I'm also told that he called his boss to tell him he needed help and was told to do it himself...everyone is busy.  She is frustrated.  She calls the company.  The boss answers.  She tells him what is happening.  That his technician will not be able to get our old water heater out by himself.  B. Bohmann tells her that his technician is a big boy and he can do it.  Also stating that you are not the only people in Milwaukee who are having problems right now.  That he is at an emergency call and his other techs are also out right now.  She calls me in tears.

Now I'm on the road...on the way home to see if I can help the tech out.  I call B. Bohmann and tell him that he left my fiance in tears after their conversation and I'm told that I told her straight how it is.  I'm sorry but I don't give out flowers.  I'm sorry she is so sensitive, but I'm with a client right now and it's an emergency call.  I tell him that part of running a business is providing customer service and that he is not providing that to us.  He states that his company provides what they promise.  I state no, we are buying a new water heater and we were told it's a 2 hour job.  He states you will get your water heater.  I ask when?  He says tonight.  Mind you it's already 7pm.

I get home and at first try to figure out how I can help this tech.  He states that he understands that we are upset and that his boss treated my wife rudely.  (He doesn't know I called his boss.)  He says that is not the way it is supposed to go.

After a quick consultation with my fiance we decide we don't want this company's water heater.  We just want to be done with them.  As the tech is packing up I hear him talking to himself saying he should find a new job.  That his boss has done this before with other clients.  I ask him how much the charge is.  He says that if we want to pay him for his work he would charge us for the home service fee and the diagnostic fee.  I decide to pay it just to be done with this company all together.  I don't want Mr. Brian Bohmann to come back to us and claim we owed him money.

More from their website:
# We Listen to You - Our employees do not talk down to our customers! Your questions give us the opportunity to understand your concerns. Only then can we recommend appropriate options and solutions to your plumbing needs.  Ummm what about the boss?

So we get ready to retire to another night at home without hot water.  BUT WAIT.  The truck comes back about 15 minutes later.  The tech lost the lock on the back of his truck and he was wondering if it fell in our driveway.  But he states you have already been through enough tonight.  Still I get a flashlight and search the driveway.  No lock.  He says he must have lost it on the road and wishes me a good night.  Too late for that...

They came and installed a new sump pump.Within a few months it malfunctioned and spewed water all over the area. They came again and installed a second pump. Shortly after, we realized the cords for the pump had fallen into the crock (because they hadn't secured them properly) and were blocking the float. After moving the cords the pump once again failed and spewed water all over. When we called for service we were told (in a VERY RUDE MANNER) if we wanted immediate help we needed to call another contractor. We highly recommend avoiding this company at all costs. If I could give lower than a 1 star rating I would.

Called Bohmann Friday morning asking if they had someone who could come out to put in a warranty replacement part that Rheem had sent me for my hot water heater. The man in the office said sure, no problem we can send someone out tomorrow morning. They then called me later in the day saying they could come out that afternoon to do the replacement because someone else cancelled.

Brian Bohmann came with a woman named Sally and I brought them down into the basement where the hot water heater was and gave him the part that Rheem sent to replace (it was a thermopile).

He told me it would cost $316 for him to do the work to replace the part! I said that doesn't seem right. The hot water heater itself is probably only worth $500. He became very ruined and insisted I then had to pay the $65 service call fee for him coming out. $65 for him to walk into my basement and walk back out.

No one had ever mentioned to me there would be a fee just for him to come. Not on the phone when I made the appointment and not when we got there. I literally had to pay him $65 for him to come to my house and leave.

I then had another plumber come and replace the part for $50 and he did it in 30 minutes. Brian was going to charge $316! Do not use these people! They will rip you off!

Great service! On-time, professional, cost effective. Needed a new sump pump, explained all the option and didn't make my feel horrible for picking the option I did. Even when I started to question my choice they reassured me what I picked would work for our house.

This plumbing company is a TOTAL SCAM. Tried to pull off a truck load of lies to scam me out of a ton of money.
He said he would give me a quote through email, then suddenly wanted to come look at the job again? I already knew there was some BS on it's way. First got told the bathtub was once replaced, that was the opening line of the rest of the BS to follow. The bathtub is actually original! Then I got told the original stack set inside the CIELING for the upstairs toilet all had to be changed out to a bigger one, that it was too small. A 4 inch stack is NOT small!! THEN he denied that he said that to me as soon as I brought my male friend inside the room. lol. Then he said the downstairs ORIGINAL TOILET was NOT vented, even though it does in fact have a vent upstairs.
To top it off he was extremely RUDE and told me not to interrupt him, like I was a small child...!!
Both my friend and I caught him out in a ton of BS, and sent him on his way. Wish I hadn't paid the $60.00 fee in the first place. More BS!!!!
I never would have called these jokers, but they were listed as Cudahy plumbing, then found out they have adopted other company phone numbers. If that isn't a scam in itself I don't know what is.
Stay away from them!!! I don't even think they are actual plumbers. I'm willing to BET they would have asked for money down and then never do the job!!!!

Called them out to my business on a Friday because the ladies toilet stopped working (flushing). Bohmann Plumbing sent two plumbers out, they reviewed the situation, had to send pictures from their phone to the master plumber best in WI then told us that NONE of them could figure out my problem. The plumber then went to do an estimate for us for the work, he came back and told me us that his boss told him to stick it to us but he wasn't going to because he was really interested in figuring out the mystery behind my wall. He then gave me an estimate for $4500 for two new toilets, tearing down the wall, new pipes, etc. Then they left us, our first weekend in business with no functioning toilet. I paid $70 for a snow job.

The following Monday my husband and I called Martin's Plumbing, they came out in 2 hours fixed the problem, replaced the lines and charged us under $300. Will never call Bohmann again.

On 1/2/2015 they installed a hot water heater that was manufactured on 2/10/2009.  Obviously, this didn't last long and had to be replaced recently.  Of course, they also didn't return any phone calls or respond to a request from the BBB.  If this is they type of service you want then go for it--Good luck!  I highly recommend you avoid this company and hire a different plumber!

This guy is a scam! We were told by We Energies after an inspection that we had several very minor leaks in our gas lines in the basement. They were so small that they left the gas on, said the tenants were in no danger and gave us a month to get it fixed.
Our tenants called Bohmann for an estimate and they were told $3,500. I told them this guy was crazy! Then he asked them for $65 for the estimate.
I called a licensed heating and cooling guy to check it out and he did everything for  $450. We Energies said everything looked great - no more leaks, and nice repair work.
Bohmann had also charged my friend's mom $950 to fix a drip in her kitchen faucet a while back. Forced her to buy a new faucet and said if she didn't buy theirs, they would not give her a warranty on the job. She is in her 80's and had just lost her husband and was living on a fixed income. If I had known this was who my tenants were calling for an estimate, I would have warned them. I replaced their $65.

I called them for and estimate for a drain spout to see if the drain was broken or damage, so the guy told me that the Service charge is 65$ but if he did the work he would wave the fees, so I said ok! He came over only to tell me that everything looked really good with out doing any testing of any kind!  So I said , well since you're already here why don't u just sneak it out any ways right? He shows me his chart of prices. If would cost me about 800$ for 30 feet only! Really? And he demanded to get pay for nothing ! Watch out big scam!

SCAM! I'm so sorry I didn't read the reviews on Google before calling Bohmann. What a scam! Do NOT use this plumber! When I asked what their minimum job price was, Jerry said it was $49. I described the job to Jerry (an $8 replacement part and 1hr of labor only if you really take your time!), and he said he had no idea; he was just in charge of everything else including accounting. He said a guy would show up, give me a quote, and if I didn't like it I could tell him to walk. So when Chuck showed up and said $279, I suggested he come up with a reasonable price. He said he couldn't because this was the price in their catalog. So I told him to walk. He then told me I owed him $49. Scam, scam, scam. And until these people make it absolutely clear that the $49 is a charge for walking in your door, their practice is nothing but unethical.

Since I can't comment below the company's response directly, I'm adding my defense here:
I received the recorded phone conversation from Bohmann and a letter asking me to remove my bad review from here. The recording only adds evidence to their lack of clarity about their service fee.

I ended up going with Taagen plumbing, who I'd been happy with in the past. They charged less than 50% what Bohmann quoted. See my review on Yelp.

Like others before me, I wish I had taken the time to read reviews before allowing Bohmann in the door. We have a bathroom drain that suddenly began running slow and were told that there was a service charge for them coming in to identify and quote the issue. Okay, fine. Except the service guys did nothing to identify the issue other than run some water and confirm that the drain was slow. They then proceeded to try to sell me an $850 sanitation system renovation. I asked them how they could be sure that would fix the issue and they admitted that they had no idea. I asked what if something was stuck in the drain at which point the service guy turned to another page and quoted me $1000+.

I'm angry that this cost me $60 in a house call for no work at all. No diagnosis, no snake of the drain, nothing. I paid them $60 to pitch me services that may or may not fix my [still totally unknown] issue.  I have no idea if their skills and service are any good and I have no desire to find out.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I was charged about $650 for a $200 repair. They charge by tier - offering full service all the way down to quick fix or something like that. Even the quick fix is way more expensive than it should be. Also, the technician clogged the sink and then charged me to fix it. I had no choice at the time as this was a rental property. I called the owner and he was extremely rude to me and hung up on me as I was trying to explain the situation. I can't imagine this experience going much worse. I cannot say enough bad things about this company.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING, unless you actually like  to be scammed. Our sink drain was clogged - we could run the water in small amounts, but if we left it on for a longer time, it would fill up the pipe from where the clog was and start backing up into the sink. Then it would slowly drain out.

Sunday night (7/21/13) I called B Bohmann Plumbing (without reading any reviews!) and scheduled an appointment for 4:30-5:00 on Monday. On Monday, Brian (the owner) and an apprentice showed up at 4:30 - so far so good. They took a look at the pipes and presented us with a couple of options: snake the pipe for $243 or snake and flush the pipes for $362. We asked what the flushing was for and were told by the apprentice that it was just to really clean out all the sedatives and flush them down from the pipes connecting to the sink.  Since my husband had taken the pipes under the sink apart in an attempt to find the clog, we knew that there was nothing wrong with those and went with the cheaper option.

We had to sign the work order and pay before they started the work - a bit unusual for any contractor. Fine, we'd have to pay sooner or later.

After half an hour of snaking the drain we were told that it was not working and that we would have to get the flush (pay an additional $120) to try and take care of the problem (which still was not a guarantee to work and we would have to pay for whatever else might need to be done in addition to the $360, if the flush doesn't work).  Apparently, the first option only covered the actual snaking for one half hour, regardless of the result.

I was frustrated and went to talk to Brian about these extortionist billing practices. Brian continued saying that we agreed to the first option and he did the work that we agreed to; if we don't want additional work done, he could just leave - with the clog still in the drain, absolutely no different than it was when they got here.  What's more, he was  not able to tell me whether this flush would even take care of the problem or if he would have to do something else an how much that might cost.

We ended up paying for the additional service and it cleared out the clog. After reading the reviews, I am certain  that all of this could have been done for much cheaper.

DON'T USE BOHMANN PLUMBING!!!!  We are remodeling our house.  Normally, I am getting 3 or more estimates on all the work we are doing.  We had some minimal plumbing that needed to be done before the carpenters finished the kitchen.   I had seen one or two Bohmann  signs in Wauwatosa,  so I asked them to come out and do the work.  The plumber came out and we walked through the work that was needed (similar to what would happen on an estimate).  We had a wall mounted faucet installed (plumbing was already there just a modification was needed) and a toilet  installation.   The plumber wrote up the invoice and I commented on how expensive it was. He said that the installation of the wall mounted faucet was very complicated. An hour and a half later the plumber was done with all of his work. I was shocked! I just wrote a check for $1,150 and he was done in an hour and a half. If the job was so complicated I would have thought it would have taken longer.

I called and spoke with the owner questioning this invoice and that if this was so complicated I would have thought it would have taken longer. He didn't care what I said and arrogantly told me this was a fair price. I can't believe I was charged $460 per hour (including estimate) or $700 per hour of work actually performed. He said they didn't charge by the hour but look out! That is what I paid! He also didn't care that I was going to be giving him an awful rating on Angie's List and planned on filing a complaint with NARI.

Bottom line - I was price gouged! I Don't use this plumber!!!!!!

Don't use them. They charge me $214.97 to clear kitchen sink drain, after 1/2 and no luck they want $309.14 per hr to continue work. Yes 309.14!!! I stop the work and spend 214.97 for nothing. Stay away from these guys.  They also ask for payment up front. Now I know why. The best part ...my friend get my drain to work next morning in less then 10 min, and he is by no mean professional plumber. Garden hose did it!! These guys will take your money and not get anything done. Don't repeat my mistake.

Broke a PVC pipe under a sink on Saturday.  $59 service call.  Great!  $1500 for a complete repair, and $500 for a band aid.  DO NOT use them.  Total rip off.
