We moved into a new house a couple weeks ago, and quickly realized that we had some leaks in sinks supplies and at our washing machine water supply.  Scout came out and fixed us up.  They were prompt, fast and friendly.  I will use Scout every time that I need plumbing work done at my house. Thank you!

Wonderful experience with Scout Plumbing. The technician was punctual, polite, efficient and got the job done! He called ahead to give a heads up, and while on site walked me through everything so that I understood the issue as well as the solution. I would highly recommend Scout Plumbing, especially after a poor experience with the first plumbing company that One Guard Home Warranty had sent out to us.
Keep up the good work!

Horrible all around. I promise if that is all that covered by your home warranty company you are better off calling your own plumber. It will save you money and time in the end.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Scout Plumbing is.  We had a clogged drain and initially called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.  They charged us $350.  And within a day, the drain was backing up again.  So, the plumber, Andrew, came back out as a warranty repair at no charge to clear the clog.  However, he couldn't clear It and had to call his field supervisor for advice.  At this point, he quoted us an additional $1,000 to try to pull the blockage out with no guarantee that it would even work.  Or, $15,000 to cut through the pavement to get to the pipe.  Additionally, he also actually pushed the clog back toward the house, which was confusing to Eric at Scout Plumbing as to why he would do that.  When Eric and his co-plumber arrived, they quickly assessed the situation and quoted us about $250-$450 to clear the clog.  After using the camera, they advised that it was going to take a bigger drain cleaning head.  This would require pulling the toilet and going down the larger pipe and would require a return visit.  They didn't charge us for the initial visit, and returned two days later.  It took them an hour and a half to clear the clog!  They even let me see the clog on the drain camera!  My final cost was $550, since we pulled the toilet ourselves. This would have been substantially less (about $250) if I had called them when the issue began!  And we would have saved us the $350 we paid Benjamin Franklin.  From now on, Scout Plumbing is the only plumber we are calling!  I highly recommend them for their honesty, professionalism, and quality of work!

Worst Ever!  Technician  left my master bath in a mess today after making our sinks un-usable. Drains were slow draining when I called them first but at least they were draining.  Now we can't even turn on the AC since it drains into the same sink.  I am very upset with their company's performance.  I wish I could attach a pic of mess they left.  He left saying sorry but they can't fix it but they won't charge me either; WHAT???  I want my bathroom back to the condition it was before you got there!!!  I'm sooo mad.

Scout plumbing did a great job on busted pipe under my house. Being a 1st time homeowner I was unsure what to expect. The employees are super friendly and professional.   Could not of asked for better service.  They fixed the problem super fast.  They will be my 1st choice for all my plumbing needs in the future.

Imagine arriving in town to help your parent with a medical emergency only to discover multiple plumbing problems in their home during your visit?   Add in a pandemic and a crazy hospital schedule/work schedule!  Scout Plumbers did a FANTASTIC job of taking care of each issue.  They did the work quickly and for an excellent price each time.  Both plumbers took photographs and emailed me a copy of my invoice and description of the job done.  I'm so incredibly glad that I found Scout and I would recommend them highly to ANYONE.  One of our issues involved an actual water leak and they made it out to the house so quickly - and the representative on the phone helped talk me through shutting off the water.  Truly an incredible group of people.  Thank you, Scout Plumbing!!

Best service I've ever received from a plumber. Loved the text message communications: appointment setting, notification that the plumber was on the way and the tracking software so I knew exactly how soon he would arrive. Very professional, courteous and friendly. Repairs were done in a very timely manner and nothing was done without my approval.

it is not shocking to me that these guys don't have great reviews. It took 5 days to get an appointment date from them and then they could not complete the job and had to come back...another 5 days later. Their reasoning was 'that they just don't get to my area very often. uhhh I live in Dallas, central Dallas, and I am only about 15 miles from you, you would think that I live out in a rural area with that kind of attitude. Meanwhile, I have water leaking over the course of 10 days. I will be selecting another company to handle my needs.

This is the latest of several times that Seth was out to our home for plumbing repairs.  He is the best and I request him when I have a plumbing issue covered by First American.  His assistant today was Anthony.   As usual.... the repairs were made and they cleaned up the area.    Thanks you for these great gentlemen.

Recently moved to TX and when our garbage disposal stopped working, Scout Plumbing was who the home warranty assigned the ticket to. Within minutes I received a text message from Scout Plumbing to schedule the appointment and a plumbing technician came by the very next business day. The disposal was irreparable and in less than 30 minutes the tech replaced the garage disposal. I appreciate the efficiency in getting the job done and also making sure the kitchen area was tidy again.

Well I called Scout Plumbing about a rental property.  They were to contact the renters to schedule repair, and me for payment.  They were unable to get ahold of the renters, and closed the repair order without ever contacting me with any information.  I called again, and opened another repair request.  I gave specific instructions to call me before any repairs were done to confirm price, and I would take care of payment.  I left specific contact numbers, and a back-up emergency person to contact in case they any problems with a timely response from me.  I am not sure WHAT happened.  They have never called me back.  They came out, did repairs and left.  They cut through some sheet rock, in order to do some of the repairs.  Some how my brother was contacted for payment.

The absolute worst customer service in the world...AND they lied on the document that they left behind. AVOID AT ALL COST...there are reliable and respectable plumbers out there and these guys are not one of them. Both Scout Plumbing and First American Home Warranty are ridiculous. Hard to believe that they are the kind of company that would rather leave a customer with a broken water heater...than replace it. They came out 3 weeks ago and said it wasn't a problem...then teh water heater broke and is leaking in my garage...they came back and said (this is not a recall) and then refused to give the home warranty company any details about the service call, just to make our lives more difficult. Do yourself a favor and AVOID THIS COMPANY at all costs. I really wish I could type a longer review...but basically...i'd give them a ZERO if I could. and they and their manager Diane are not helpful people and dont care about the customer.

I just had my first experience with Scout Plumbing and it was a great one.  The appointment was made for this morning and the gentleman just left 25 minutes ago and I was so impressed that I have to share my experience right away. His name was Seth and he was with sent to me from One Guard.I met him at the front door and he was one of the most pleasant people that I have ever met. He had a huge smile and was ready to go. He walked in the house with an excitement for work and that was infectious. Unfortunately, along with him came a 6-inch lizard from the outside.I say six inches (but to me he looked more like 12 in). For now we will call this unfriendly lizard Godzilla. For the next four and a half minutes Seth attempted to help me catch this monster in the event that he would be left behind.I told Seth, I hope you fix my shower, because if you leave here today and Godzilla is still in the house and crawls across to my lap when I'm watching TV ...I will crap myself and I will NEED the shower.  He laughed, although I was serious. We were unsuccessful in our attempts, yet Seth went ahead to fix the issues in my house. He was very professional in letting me know what the issue was and very timely in the repair. I couldn't be happier. From the get-go this was a man of character. He called me in advance to let me know when he would arrive and he arrived right on the DOT. He came in and did the work and did it with expertise. He even made note of other areas that needed focus and took care of them as well. There is no doubt that I would use Scott plumbing again and there is no doubt that I would ask for Seth personally. Interesting enough, while he was working, I found the lizard slightly trapped under my dishwasher with his tail sticking out. So in my right mind I knew I had to do something. I grabbed a piece of packaging tape and I taped that monsters tail to the floor. After I finish screaming like a schoolgirl (Don't judge me)  Seth came out picked up this lizard and took him outside, but not before getting bit by the lizard in the process. Needless to say this morning was an experience and quite entertaining. with all this being said, if you are reading this please use Scout Plumbing. They are outstanding and no matter what you should always ask for Seth. They will be awesome for all of your plumbing and extermination needs!!! In fact I think they should change the name to Seth plumbing.

Alex and James thanks again for coming out to my property. My water heater filled my bath for the first time again in months! It was great to relax and enjoy my bath last night. I equally appreciate the knowledge you provided!

Have a maintenance contract with a home maintenance insurance company.  They had Scout Plumbing, Carrollton respond to my request. I have rust colored water.  Service man gave my water heater a cursory look, wrote down model, etc then told my wife he could do nothing  Rusty water is a maintenance problem.  Said the coating on the metal tank has stripped away.  This is not repairable and recommend replacement.
After google search, I've learned that the anode is gone and needs to be replaced.  I wish he had told us that and offered to do the anode replacement at an additional charge.  Now I have to do it and it is going to be a pain.  I may have to replace the water heater when I'm done but I'm sure as hell going to have someone else replace it.
If you are going to take my money for something that should have been obvious and NOT offer solutions, you shouldn't be in business.   FYI, do a search of these guys before you have work done.  They have other reviews besides Yelp.

I have First American Home Warranty... I called for a service call for my garbage disposal that's not working & they sent out Scout Plumbing for a service fee to me of $85.00. When Scout got there - there was a tiny pebble half the size of my little fingernail or less. The technician worked about 10 minutes to pull it out. He said First American Warranty doesn't cover something getting down into the unit and they charged me $173. so I ended up paying $258 for a tiny pebble to be removed in about 10 minutes. THIS IS GOUGING especially since I received an invoice for $312. I called and they said $139 was billed to First American so Scout spent 10 mins, pulling out a tiny, tiny pebble & charged First American $139.00 but that wasn't enough for them to pull a pebble out, no, they said it was a repair even though they didn't repair one single thing but instead pulled out that tiny pebble that stopped the blades from turning. I couldn't even see the pebble with a flashlight to know it was there. Do not call the unless you want to get gouged for their service. Why wasn't $139.00 enough money for 10 minutes to take a small piece of ANYTHING from between the blade? Why was that $312 with $173.00 STOLEN FROM ME when my company was paying them $139.00 for the call? GOUGING - STEALING PURE AND SIMPLE.

I would give them a 0 star if I could. Our rental home water heater broke and the guy George scared our tenants by saying that the water heater was not installed in code and told us that in order for him to do his job we would not call the warranty company and just pay him 1365 and he he would give us an itemized bill. We did not get an itemized bill and got yelled by the warranty company for hat we should have called them before we paid. I would never use them and considering moving to another warranty company.

I would really suggest NOT using this company, I used them once before and felt the price was very high. I had another issue with my house and was told on the phone that it would cost under $300 for them to come out and run a test and that would be the only charge, then obviously a larger charge to fix the issue. The guy got there and tried to charge me $1,600+ just to find out where the leak is (not to fix it). I asked him why I was not told that on the phone and he said that his own company should have never quoted me that and he is sorry. I asked him not to do any of the work because I felt lied to and before I spend $1,600 finding out what the issue is I want to make sure that is reasonable. I hired another company who came out and charged me $335 for the same thing. They found the leak and fixed it. Scout then called me to collect payment and I told them that is crazy, because they told me $300 or less over the phone then he comes out and tries to charge me $1,600+ that I felt I was lied to and if they told me that on the phone I would have never had them come out in the first place. They said they would send the $60 to collections. Please if you for some reason use this company I would highly suggest get a 2nd opinion because they lied and tried to cheat me out of my money or just save your time and go with someone else.

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!  Our warranty company hired them to come fix a busted pipe in our wall, and their plumber stepped through our ceiling from the attic!!  The owner then tried to blame it on us.  Then, they asked for the service fee, and I asked him to call his boss to get it waived.  The boss waived the $60 fee, then charged the warranty company the extra $60.  The warranty then sent us a bill for $60.  Luckily they ended up waiving it because the snakes at scout lied to me and them!  DONT EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!  THEY ARE SNAKES!

Our sink was backed up due to a buildup in the drain line. The AC drains through the system there and every few years there's an issue.
I submitted a work request with my home warranty company and two plumbers from Scout showed up. My nephew allowed them entry and advised them the bathroom was up the stairs. They went up into the bathroom and closed the door not asking any questions. It was believed they knew exactly why they were there.
After a little while one of the plumbers came knocking at my door exasperated and asked if there was a sister sink back-to-back. I was surprised that he wasn't aware since I specifically advised this information when submitting my request. I got an earful from the worker complaining that it was my responsibility to advise him.
They packed up and left the premises stating additional work was required and it would be it of pocket.
I contacted my home warranty company who advised the work order stated there were sister sinks, the additional work had already been performed and only the cleanout was necessary.
Ignorance and lies is all I received from these incompetent workers.

First American home warranty uses them to come out and on two occasions I have had the opportunity to use them. Both times I have been underwhelmed by the company. They provided a window of 11-5 only to show up after 5 - to walk in asses then saying they couldn't do anything after 10 min visit. I had a sewage blockage; they told the insurance company it would cost $1950 to fix and an additional 250 to fix a leaking diverter.  Thus the claim being denied. I was about to use them to fix the work thinking I had and up and up company, but thought to call other plumbers only to find my issue fix for $125 with the diverter replaced smh!

Will never use this company. My hot water heat quit functioning after a bang. So needless to say, I had no water. My warranty company put out the mass emergency call email and scout sprang right on it....I waited up for them since my warranty company said they could be here within the next several hours and took off work today. After accepting my emergency call, Scout Plumbing then said they couldn't get to me until Tuesday. Since this happened yesterday and was an emergency they couldn't even let another company, who could actually fulfill my emergency, do it and took the call. They made the decision all on their own that my emergency wasn't worth getting to for five days. Five days!!! All they saw was dollar signs. Keep in mind. I have no water and no way to take a shower, wash my clothes (and no, Rockwall doesn't have laundromats) or even do my dishes. To me this was just flat out dishonest and putting their company and their needs ahead of mine. This is not how you win my service. I am a very monogamous customer. I will use you until you go out of business or retire. So you've lost out and I know many many people that are constantly asking me if I know a good plumber. My warranty company is sending out another company who will actually BE HERE within the next couple of hours. If this is how they handle emergencies, I would hate to see how they treat regular calls.

If I could give less than one star, it would still be too high. They came out for a home warranty replacement of a water heater and attempted to charge for code upgrades to the total of $775 dollars. Contacted the city and after reviewing the current installation of our water heater, were told it was completely up to code. The tech/plumber they sent out refused to explain in detail what was needed and also refused to detail it in writing on the invoice, just a total of $775 above and beyond what was covered. I'll be contacting the Texas State Board of Plumbing examiners as this is price gouging in it's lowest form (when your garage floor is covered in water, it's hard to say no...).

This company is.not to be trusted.  They came to my house to repair leaking valves under my sink and said they were not covered by my homeowners warranty so they could just collect the trip fee of $75 dollars and not have to do the work.

They said the valves needed to be maintained.  No professional plumber has ever heard of maintaining a valve.

You get what you pay for. My home warranty company sent them to fix three very basic issues. I had a toilet leaking at the base, a faulty tub diverter and a small leak at the base of one of my faucets. That plumber actually told me the leak was  result of my toilet moving and not the wax ring. I have personally replaced three wax rings. You gotta be kidding me. I called another plumber and they fixed everything. I showed them the report, and man was totally confused by what they put. This company might be facing legal action soon if they don't start making sense. Also, home warranties are basically  waste of money...

My house isn't exactly new, so I often need the services of multiple contractors (sometimes in the same day!). Add my name to the RUN FROM SCOUT PLUMBING.  First American, my insurance company,  picked them to repair a leaky faucet.  The plumber told me the part did not exist and needed me to quickly make a decision to put his builders grade CHROME fixture and take out my $$ polished brass fixture.
Nothing in my bathroom or entire house is CHROME, but plumber guy was running late and I needed to quickly allow him to put in his non matching fixture.  THANKFULLY I SAID NO THANKYOU.  Was sent an additional estimate for a polished brass fixture plus CODE REQUIRED FLEX WATER CABLES for nearly $500.
Thankfully First American sent out a REAL PLUMBING company to check it out.  Guess what?  The supply warehouse HAD THE INTERIOR LEAKING PART!!  I doubt Scout Plumbing ever checked for my part.  Easier to put in another fixture than research it. Also was NOT CHARGED FOR CODE REQUIRED FLEX CABLES that Scout said were required.
Many reviews on Scout have said the same thing.  They will gouge you for extra non required parts and Code Violations. Actually had good luck with Scout on previous jobs, but this plumber changed my mind forever!
    STAY AWAY FROM SCOUT PLUMBING!!

If you have First American home warranty and you get assigned to them.
Unfortunately, they will find the way to tell you that your problem is not covered, and get money from you.
It doesn't matters the problem, they know all the loopholes, they know what to do and how to do it.
If you get assigned to them, try to request for a different company.

First American sent these guys.  Rusted hot water nipple to tank with expansion tank down the line, plumber wrenches on it and breaks it... calls First American and tells them its a bad expansion tank which voids the claim since its a code update . Plumber turns around and offers to remove the rusted nipple for 350.00.  If this happens to you , fight the claim have a good company diagnose the issue and take the cash out from the home warranty claim.

Cold showers and 9 leaks later...

We just moved from Washington D.C. to Texas and signed a lease on a rental property located in Rockwall, Tx. Our household includes 2 adults, several children, and a mastiff. Our move in date was May 15, 2015 and I have not had gas service since I have moved in. Our gas company was unable to turn on service to the house due to failed pressure test. May 15 was a Friday...Awesome right?

Hector from Scout Plumbing came out on Monday to try to identify what was causing the bad read from meter. The landlord of the home uses a home warranty which directed Scout Plumbing to us. Without approval from homeowner, Scout Plumbing is not allowed to move any appliances that could help identify. Dead End.

May 27 - Hector now has approval to do what needs to be done to identify what is causing the pressure test to fail. He arrives early afternoon (approximately 2pm)  and is able to locate the valve to stove top which is nearly impossible to see and that I couldn't find. Runs another test and it fails again. The next step is to attempt to locate any visible leaks. He finds 4 visible leaks. 1 by the joint in the stove. 3 in the attic by the water heater and furnace area. (Let me tell you, it was a HOT and HUMID day in Texas and attics are not a fun spot to be in during these conditions!) At this point, it's now 3:30pm. I was pretty concerned about the amount of leaks that were found but Hector was very knowledgeable in explaining how this could be possible. I was satisfied with his reasoning and felt comfortable with him continuing. He made a quick run to get parts and was back by 4:30pm to get back to work. He repaired all leaks and ran another pressure test...It FAILED. NO JOKE! At this point, he cannot continue to work without approval from landlord to make small cuts into drywall to cover joints that aren't visible.

May 28 - Hector has now received approval from my landlord to do whatever needs to be done to locate and fix any leaks that the house may have. He brings an apprentice plumber with him to make the work flow smoother and faster in hopes of getting this issue resolved TODAY. They showed up around 2:30-3:00PM. Alex (apprentice) was great! He was knowledgeable and was able to answer my questions about county permits and what exactly was being done. He was very cooperative and was eager and helpful in locating an additional 5 leaks throughout the house. Even though he was younger and less experienced than Hector, he has a promising future in this field. There is now a total of 9 leaks that have either been capped for testing or replaced. The pressure test still fails. It's now 6PM. The next thing to do is to section off the house to determine which side it is coming from...That didn't sound awesome to me but I am REALLY craving a HOT shower after weeks of cold ones.

All in all, house was sectioned off. All pipes were taken apart and re-threaded due to poor installation. Some were just plain loose. 9PM - WE GET A CLEAN READ ON THE PRESSURE TEST!

Words can not express how grateful and appreciative I am of Hector's diligence and persistence that was required to solve this problem for my family.

I HIGHLY recommend Scout Plumbing to anyone requiring services. They are fair, honest, and hard workers. Ask for Hector ;)

Extremely quick response time and painless. Eric our technician called prior to arriving and showed up right at the specified time. He was very courteous and even took off his shoes without asking seeing I did not wear shoes in my own home. We have always had to ask anyone who has come to do business in our home if they could remove their footwear, but not this time! I mentioned the problem and he was very quick to diagnose and fix the issue. Total time from start to finish was not even 45 minutes. If it were not for the good conversation we were having while he was fixing the issue, he probably would have been done sooner. After the work was done, the area was spotless and everything was put back in its original place. Eric was very professional, polite and definitely knows his trait. The company was very quick to respond to a non emergency situation and handled everything without a hitch. Great company and technician, highly recommended!

Long story made short. Four days ago lost all hot water to 1/2 bath, kitchen sink and dish washer. Called plumber i had used once before. He came out. Said i had serious issues with clogged underground pipes. 'Will be expensive', thousands of $$$. Referred me to 'his friend', another plumbing company. Sent guy out. A knucklehead. No solution.
SCOUT phone number was on the hot water heater. Here is where it gets good: called them before 8am today. Called back at 9. Told them my issue. Confirmed man out today before 5pm. AT 2PM UP ROLES THE SCOUT PLUMBER. NAME SETH, WITH ASST. BLAKE. WITHIN 1 HOUR DIAGNOSED HOT WATER HEATER FAILING! GREAT NEWS, ITS UNDER WARRANTY. REPLACED, CLEARED ALL LINES. WIFE HAPPY, I'M HAPPY. CALL SCOUT. ASK FOR SETH.

Very bad customer experience. Unfortunately This company was selected by my home warranty company. When they call me to schedule an appointment on 3/7/2017 they were very rude like they want to get rid of you. When we could not agree on a time, they just told me well that is all we have if you do not like it, call to you warranty company and told them to assign you somebody else then they hanged up the phone.
After a called to my warranty company, they could not find another company, so I had to call them again. After several minutes trying to find my work order, they told me well we will call you when we get to your order again I tried to explain them that my order was already submitted, but regardless of that they put my order at the back of their recent orders, and they hanged up again on me again.
If you can avoid this company I will recommend. They should get a class on customer service. I am making a complain with my warranty company as well.

Beware!!! They will scam you EVERY time if you use them through a home warranty. We have many rental homes and they claim EVERY single time that upgrades have to be made that are not covered. They tried to charge us $1200 to replace a hot water heater WITH the warranty. When we insist on a different plumber through the home warranty, it ends up costing us nothing and the reputable plumbing company got them to pay for our accelerator that Scout claimed wouldn't be covered. RUN FROM SCOUT PLUMBING!!!

I would like to give 0 stars, but that is not an option.  Scout was dispatched by my warrenty company.  Kitchen faucet was dripping.  Tech said it needed to be replaced.  Simple enough, right?  Was told by the tech that the faucet my warranty company would provide was not one I would want.  He suggested I order what I wanted. I have 3 faucets in the kitchen, and asked about the price to replace the other 2 at the same time, so they would match.  He called the office, got a price and told me what to order.  I agreed to pay for the other faucets to be replaced and ordered the ones I wanted.  The faucets arrived and Scout has sent some report about not covering the claim because they needed to change pipes to PVC, and by the way, are PVC, and closed the claim.  Nothing in the tech's report to the warranty company reflects what I was told...NOTHING!  I was told to call when my faucets arrived and they would come back to replace the one warranty, and the two I would pay to replace.  Now the claim is closed with my warranty company, with reasons that would make my claim uncovered, none of which was what I was told.  In my opinion: Tech called in report, knowing exactly what would be uncovered, so he did not have to come back and do the warranty work.   BEWARE!!!  Noticed bad reviews are warranty claims.  Does Scout have a problem with contracts negotiated and takes the initial call, with the homeowner paying the initial high service fee, and will not do the followup work, using uncovered items to get out of the repairs?

This is the worst Plumbing service there is. I had a faucet repair that lasted over 4 hours. The plumber stayed in my house repaired my shower valve and then left me with out a kitchen faucet. He left because he said he forgot parts and said he would return in 10 mins. That turned into an hour so I left to go eat lunch when I got back he was there waiting and upset he took his tools and left.

Scout Plumbing came to our home via our home warranty company (First American). The job was to repair a dripping tub faucet. The plumber who came to our house clearly didn't know what he was doing. He not only made the leak worse but he left without fixing it. He told us he'd have to order a part and would be back in a week. And that when he returned, he'd need to open up the wall behind the shower to fix the problem. We were dumbfounded. He left the bathtub filling at the rate of about a tub full an hour. First American refused to send anyone else out to help us. We spent most of the weekend with the water in our house completely off. Turning it on only to take showers and to do dishes. It was awful. We ended up calling a different company (Baker Brothers). They fixed the leak in 10 minutes. They had the part with them and they didn't have to open up a wall. They were dumbfounded anyone would think that was necessary. I did call Scout Plumbing after the competent company took care of it. The attitude of the person I spoke with was condescending at best. She thought it was completely normal that someone would have to flush their toilet with buckets of water from their bathtub all weekend. And she blamed it on the warranty company. I would NOT recommend Scout Plumbing to anyone.

We had a hot water tank that began to leak and I called our home warranty company to get it fixed.we were assigned Scout Plumbing to work on the problem. A plumber was sent on Friday to evaluate the problem but not to fix it. The water had to be shut off to our house until it could be fixed which would not be until late Saturday. We were given an 8-5 window and finally the plumber called at 3:30 and arrived by 4:00. Up until this point I was not impressed by our warranty company or Scout plumbing..Brandon Harrison was the plumber on call and was the most professional, knowledgable plumber I have ever used. He promised that our new hot water heater would be installed and heating up the water in 2 hours and it was. Thank you Brandon for taking so much pride in your work and to Scout plumbing for having such a fine individual working for you.

This organization is shady and their technicians don't appear to have a love or passion for what they do. I have experienced two visits to my home via the home warranty association and both visits the same type of lack of attention to the customer request and details and poor focus on quality and horrible customer service were present. Their technicians are not honorable and just seem to be there to get a fast check because they don't want to do the work required at all. Halfass do the job and lies about what they've done has been my experience. This most recent experience the technician waisted half of my day waiting on him to show up and then to just come in and lie on his report to the warranty company because he didn't want to do the work which caused the claims denial. Told the warranty company that we had HIGH water pressure in our home which is what was causing the leaks? WTH? Le leaks were actually caused by parts that needed to be replaced (worn shut off values on the water lines and faucet knobs) He never checked the pressure, didn't look at nor  correct the issues because he didn't want to do the welding necessary I reported and left my home with the same problems I reported and expected to be paid . I called and paid for, out of pocket, another plumbing company that came out corrected the issues (quickly) and tested the water pressure for real this time to validate what I already knew and disputed the lies of the this most recent Scout Plumbing technician (Sean).
DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!!

My home warranty sent these guys, and based on reviews I was a bit worried.  Just had to come back and post that I had no issue with them. I'm guessing most people only make bad reviews and there are plenty of good experiences out there.  They took care of my dripping tub and leaky sink very quickly and Seth was very professional.  I would have no hesitation using them in the future.  I also had them take care of a couple of things outside the warranty and the price was reasonable.

I had to use Scout Plumbing from a home warranty ($75 charge). They caused bigger problems than what they were originally called over for. Then they said new problem (that they caused) was not covered and would be $275 charge fix to it.
Called the office only to receive terrible customer service. You are better off bypassing the warranty and calling reputable plumber instead.

Follow up:
I called a reputable plumber who came out the next day, took a look and fixed the problem in 5 minutes, charged $50. Should have never went through the home warranty and gone straight to a reputable plumber.

Horrible company to go with. Our home warranty kept sending us back to them. We had a leak from master bathroom to garage ceiling. Two guys came...one stayed up where master bathroom and another downstairs where garage ceiling is. They said they filled up tub and noticed no plumbing issues. They said it is jets because when water reached jets...the guy downstairs at garage heard leaking.

Jets in a tub is under the manufacturer and not plumbing. So we called specific manufacturer and got a specific person out. They tore tub apart to see and nothing was wrong. We went back to home warranty and they sent us to Scout once more. Scout told us they are not coming back and have notified warranty.

I blame both warranty and this company. This company clearly does not know what they are doing and are very rude.

Wow! As many would agree, great customer service is hard to come by. But today I was shown that it still exist.  The service I received from Scout Plumbing's service man, Brandon, was impeccable.   My service request was submitted through my home warranty company and Scout plumbing was assigned to my ticket.  I was initially apprehensive as the ticket was squeezed into an already full Saturday schedule for their technician, so I was given a window of 8-5 on Saturday.  By 11am, the service man had called to advise that he was on the way. Advanced notice of arrival? Done, just as promised!  Brandon, was extremely knowledgeable off the cuff about both my garbage disposal issue and  toilet issue, to which I had called about.  Both jobs were addressed in less than 30 minutes, while taking time to explain and educate.... but more importantly, he was PROFESSIONAL AND... CLEAN when addressing both service issues.  Oh, and did I mention he was timely?  I would recommend this company and specifically Brandon to any and all who may have plumbing needs.  Nothing better than to have expectations of GREAT SERVICE restored.  Thank you Brandon for being the person behind the definition of Great Customer Service! Scout Plumbing has a great company representative through the work you do.  Thanks again!

I had an issue of water backing up into my shower and water coming up from under the toilet in our master bathroom every time the washing machine would drain. Called our home warranty company, who sent Scout Plumbing to fix the issue. The guy who showed up rain a cable and supposedly found roots in the line, which is not covered on the warranty. When asked if we needed to test the drainage issue after he said it was cleared, his response was that it was not needed and everything was fine now. He said we would need to run a camera down the line to find the break.

After he left, I ran a load of clothes through the washing machine. The backup was worse than before with even more water coming up from under the toilet!! I called the guy on his cell phone but immediately got voicemail. I left a message stating the issue was not fixed. No response from him or the company to date.

I recommend NEVER using this company because of extremely poor customer service! Deserves ZERO stars but that isn't an option.

As with several other reviewers, Scout Plumbing was dispatched through my home warranty company.  Both are culpable for the horrible experience I had.  My water heater needed to be replaced, and there were some code updates that had to be done.  When the tech quoted me a very high rate despite my home warranty, I told him I needed to do some research and I would let them know if I want them to begin the work.  At that point the conversation completely shifted and he became extremely condescending and rude.  After what I discovered, I understand why he was defensive.  I pulled my town codes and warranty information, and I compared that to his work order.  I researched the prices of the parts I needed, and his mark-up was quadruple for most of the parts.  The permit required by my town was $50, but he charged me $150.  I offered to get the permit myself to save the tech some time and legwork, and he said I wasn't allowed to.  While I understand they need to make money, this felt almost extortion-like.  I tried to negotiate with Scout and was told by their receptionist that the home warranty company sets the prices.  I checked with my home warranty company and they advised that isn't true, they CAP the prices - not set them.  Scout Plumbing blatantly lied to me.  I tried to change plumbers with my home warranty company, and I was denied.  After over 2 weeks with no hot water and going back and forth with both the home warranty company and contractor, I went forward with the repair.  I would NEVER have given this company my hard-earned money if I wasn't stuck between a rock and a hard place.  I feel punked, I was ripped off, and I will NEVER patronize this business again.  Do yourself a favor and stay away!

Bad bad bad. Warranty company sent these guys over and I'm sure this is a similar story to what you are going to read here. Spent five minutes in my home. Told us my job wasn't covered by warranty. Not true, wear and tear is absolutely covered by my warranty. I feel gross and ripped off. $65 for five minutes of nothing. Would not even tell us why it wasn't covered. I spoke to the warranty company and this company and their stories did not match. It seems they sent them over and take them on their word that it's not covered. Wear and tear is absolutely covered by my warranty. If you see these guys calling after filing a claim, cancel and ask for another company to be sent over.

Just bad service and performance. Had them replace a disposal and was improperly installed which unbeknownst to us was leaking and spraying food to the back part of underneath the sink. We didn't realize this til after a year had passed when the sink started backing up and we noticed all the leak underneath the sink. At this point it was out of warranty and completely corroded and needed to be replaced. Good on them for replacing it for just the service fee. The plumber, however, did nothing to address the sink backing up which he said the new disposal would correct. The new disposal did not fix the sink backup and the company will not come back out to correct this issue that they failed to address the first time without another charge.

Basically, had them out twice and sub-par workmanship both times.

Had Water Heater issues a couple of weeks ago, and as irritating as plumbing issues are, Scout (specifically Alex!) made the process as great as it could be. Here are the reasons why:

1. During the initial service call Alex called me to let me know the part causing an issue was still under warranty and could be replaced relatively easily. I found the part and did the replacement - only out the initial $60 visit. He could have really taken advantage of the fact that I didn't know our WH was still under warranty!

2. Replacing the part didn't fix the issue. Well, stuff happens. Alex went above and beyond to diagnose the issue to make sure he knew what to repair/replace.

3. The scheduling dept. wasn't going to be able to fit me in for another 2-3 days after the diagnosis. House full of kids and no hot water? No bueno. But the scheduler called me back a few hours later to tell me they found a way to fit me in the next day. Awesome surprise.

4. Alex came back, parts in hand and a short time later had the water heater going again. By this point everything but the tank was replaced, way more work than any of us anticipated. Alex knocked it out and it was only an additional hour of work that we had to pay for.

I'd recommend these guys to anybody - especially in the Carrollton area. It's great to have family come help with issues.

I was finding water in my master closet and filed a warrant claim. My warranty company contacted this joke of a company. They sent out Joseph who is by far a joke. I called my home warranty for a leaking water heater. They sent Scout Plumbing to my home. After, the service man looked at the water heater. It needed to be replaced. It would take one week before they could replace it. I had hot water before, the service person came out. I was without hot water for one week. When the day came to replace the water heater. Scout Plumbing called and cancelled the appointment. Leaving me with additional 4 days without hot water.

NOT ONE STAR DESERThis is the worst experience I've had with a plumbing service to date. The Home Warranty Company should not have them as an option for their customers. The service in the field is subpar. And, customer service when you call us non-existent. The agents(including supervisors) are condescending & rude. My questions were cut off before I could get them out if my mouth. The supervisor even said when I asked her to stop doing so that way she would understand before answering,  that yeah she cut me off because she already knew what I was about to say or ask, only to find she was wrong in that assessment. The only thing the supervisor & agents I spoke to did best was to make sure I understood that my business didn't matter by going to their go-to statement of if it doesn't work for you feel free to seek assistance elsewhere. But even that could've been delivered with better tone. They are extremely unprofessional. The actual plumber was out twice and my sink is still clogged and unusable. He replaced the garbage disposal when he came out for a clogged line but didn't have water-tight sealant to prevent leaks while in use.  He didn't have cable to power tool needed to check ground/drain outside stating his truck was in shop and didn't properly equip temporary truck as if there are no work orders for the day showing issue. After a week they come back and upon leaving , my line is still clogged and sink is still unusable. Now they want to run cameras through the line and its not covered $$& of course, when your tool or what-not  isn't pulling anything out but water you say, symptoms don't speak to a collapse or break/no grease, mud, or anything on what u fished through the line And, the plumber is at a loss saying weird issue and he's clueless and suggest I pour white vinegar down drain. Such a waste of time & money!  I need a reputable plumber ASAP. But why am I surprised. Based on most if their reviews so did the majority of customers serviced by this company!!!

Although Scout Plumbing offered to come back and run cameras through our line ( which wasn't covered & at added costs), we opted to go with a more reputable company ( Benjamin Franklin Plumbing) and the difference from beginning to end was like day & night.  Their customer service was second to none, they were accommodating, informative, prompt, knowledgeable, thorough, and went above & beyond to provide helpful information to make sure tenants were aware how to avoid this particular problem in the future. Check this out:
There was no need for the snake or cameras.  The clog was in a small pipe behind the garbage disposal ( Yes! The behind the same disposal SCOUT put in. So when original was removed their plumber should have noticed the same thing, but either he didn't have the expertise or he was in for running up costs). It was too small to handle large amounts being processed in the disposal at a quick enough rate which is why there have been past issues. The plumber from Ben Franklin removed garbage disposal, took piping apart, cleared and put everything back together. Education provided on only processing small amounts in the new disposal at one time to avoid clog and established an inside outlet/valve under the sink just to be proactive about issues encountered in the future. He accessed issue and handled all admin stuff within 10 minutes, quoted an hour on the fix and was done in about 30 minutes and out the door with a confident smile and assurance that my issue was resolved.  I tested and everything is working as intended with minimal costs.  WORD TO THE WISE - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH SCOUT PLUMBING. Save time, headache and money by hiring a reputable plumber to start!

I also had to use Scout Plumbing for my home warranty service.  Terrible service and charges way above any other plumber in the area.  They are trying to make money back due to the warranty service work.  I had two water heaters replaced by two different warranty service companies and Scout charged 50% more for the exact same parts and labor that was not covered by the warranty.

Also had some other plumbing issues and they quoted 2x what other plumbers charge for the exact same work.

Would never recommend Scout Plumbing.

I can always count on Scout.  They are on time and courteous.  But most of all they know how to do their job!  Rey was my most recent technician but they've always been the same.

Scout Plumbing has high standards.  I'm very pleased.

These guys are the best!  They are professional, thorough and really nice on top of that.  I had gotten an incorrect diagnosis from another vendor and that I thought was going to be a major repair and it was a quick fix.  I got them through my home warranty company but would use them directly... they are that good!

I called scout Plumbing through our home warranty.  Our water bib outside had a leak. The tech (Seth) was very polite, easy to talk to, professional, and did the job quickly. I had to pay an additional $375 out of pocket because he had to break two halves of a brick to remove the water line (not covered by warranty).
Next day, I called the company and addressed my concern about what I was charged.  Our previous phone quote to remove bricks was less than $375. They were very quick to reply back to me, and offered a partial refund.
I was very happy with their service, especially their customer support. Lydia and Diane were both very helpful, friendly, and professional.
Thank you, and will continue to ask for your services in the future.

I was forced to use this company by my home warranty. I had a clogged master toilet and when I would run the washer and flush that toilet at the same time, sewage would back up in my bathroom tubs.  He came out twice and all he did was unclog the toilet (which I had already done several times myself.) He said I would have to call him out 3 times before he would recommend repairs. They never call you to schedule appt like they're supposed to, when you leave a msg, they don't return your call and when you finally get a hold of them they put you on hold forever. When I called the 3rd time in 3 weeks, they refused to come out in direct contradiction to what the technician and the home warranty company had told me. Company is useless and unprofessional.

Horrible customer service.  They were referred by our Home Warranty.  They came out twice in three months to replace the seal on our toilet.  The second time they said it was because a nut was loose.  OK....but maybe they should have noticed it the first time.  At any rate we paid both visits.  Right after Seth, the plumber left, I notice a tile was cracked.  I called right away.  Seth said there were no cracked tiles.  I said that's correct, there were no cracked tiles before you got here but there is one now.  Obviously something happened when he moved the toilet to replace the seal.  He said he didn't drop it so they aren't responsible.  Bottom line....if there was no cracked tile when he started the work and there was a cracked tile when he finished they should be responsible.  Tile is 13 years old so we won't be able to just replace one tile.  We're going to have to re-tile the whole bathroom.  I wouldn't expect them to pay for the whole job, but I would expect them to contribute.  Home Warranty company is siding with the plumber so we are left with no alternative.  All I can do is warn others.
