Roulo's Plumbing Heating & Cooling Plumbing Service
Very fast, very neat, and professional.

It was raining quite hard the day they came to my place for a service visit, and I certainly appreciated the fact that they laid down a walkway of tarps so as not to destroy the carpet with muddy footprints as they traveled back and forth from the bathroom to their truck.

They were nice guys; courteous, and all business - they did the work, and got out of there as quickly as possible.

I'd use this guys again in a minute. They're like plumbing heroes.

Good Helpers Heating and Cooling Plumbing Service
I cannot say enough great things about Kip and Good Helpers Heating and Cooling!!!

My heat went out right before Christmas. I had 3 different repairmen over; all of them thought they had it figured out...only to have my house be cold three days later. I was at my wit's end and was venting about it, and a friend referred me to Kip. Needless to say, I was frustrated and tired of getting the run around when it came to my furnace. Kip offered to come over and look at it for me. He was beyond polite and professional, diagnosed the issue right away, AND fixed my furnace! He even called back the next day to make sure it was working. I would recommend Kip and Good Helpers to anyone looking for quality work at a fair price!

Warkentin Plumbing Service
I initially contacted Warkentin as I wanted to install a sump pump. They came out and quoted a price and although they weren't the cheapest, they came highly recommended. After I gave them the go ahead to do the job, I decided to waterproof my entire basement. As this is out of their realm, they recommended a few places to me and also advised me to ask if they still installed the sump pump afterwards would it affect the waterproofing warranty...which it would. Thanks to this piece of advice from Dawn.
Dawn recommended that I have the same company install the sump pump, which I ended up doing.

Flash forward a couple of months and I had decided to remove a tub and replace it with a shower. This would require changing the plumbing and setting a shower base. I contacted Warkentin specifically based on Dawns integrity with my previous issue. Her team came out and ran pipes and move the floor drain. As the shower walls were not yet installed, their plumber said he'd come back to set everything to the proper depth and ensure they were aligned properly. Once the walls and tiling were up, I contacted Dawn and she sent someone the following day.

Very happy with their professionalism, integrity and efficiency.

Would have no hesitation in recommending them.

A & E Anytime Plumbing Plumbing Service
The short story is DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The long story is as follows.

In mid-March, I noticed a leak in one of my bathrooms as well as an issue with the hot water in a different bathroom. After trying a few things myself, I was pressed for time and contacted Anytime Plumbing to come to my house in Southfield. My technician was John G and he seemed to be a pretty nice guy, although I questioned his assessments.

He started with the hot water issue in the back bathroom. The shower would get warm-ish at best. There would be one burst of hot water and then showering would be absolutely miserable.
John decided that a part had gone bad inside the on-off/warm-cold handle in my shower. He didn't have the part, so he went somewhere to get it, came back, and installed it. No hot water. His assessment was that I needed a new hot water heater because my current hot water heater runs out of water fast. That's a quote from my receipt. I had an instant hot water heater. There was no reservoir full of water to run out. Still, I agreed that the water heater was failing. My belief all along was that the water heater needed replacing, but John wanted to try this other part. He tried and it didn't work. That happens sometimes, so we went to the next issue.

Moving on to the leaking bathroom. John came in and decided he knew the leak was coming from a knob on my old jacuzzi tub that controlled the jets. Now, this knob was located in an area that was hit by water when both the bath spout and the shower head were on. However, the leak happened only when the shower head was on. I addressed this concern with John--why would this be the leaking area when two sources of water hit it and only one led to leaking? His idea was that the water pressure was harder from the shower head than from the spout. I disagreed, but I let him do his thing because he's the plumber and I'm not. Anyway, based on the location of the knob, he had to cut a hole in the bedroom wall on the other side of the tub for access. Not a big deal to me. He needed to be able to visualize the plumbing. So he started chiseling at my wall and then decided he didn't like that location. Then he measured the area he wanted to cut and marked it all out with a pencil (I will clean this off the wall when I'm done, he said). He cut a 7x7 hole in my wall and believed he identified the leak. He put some lock-tight around the knob, slapped an access panel in the hole, and called the job complete. We couldn't confirm the leak was resolved for 24 hours because it needed time to set.

Guess what the charge was--$425. Yup, I paid $425 to have a new access panel cut into my wall, a $95 part replaced that didn't need replacing, and some lock-tight squeezed around a knob. Not to mention the access panel wall also had a nice quarter-sized hole randomly in the middle where he initially started chiseling as well as pencil marks everywhere like a toddler had been playing. John G never did clean it off as he said he would and now I have drywall work to do. I also paid for the part for the shower that I didn't need and the time it took him to go get the part [that I didn't need]. Had I known I'd be paying for the part even if it didn't work OR the time it took him to drive and get it, I never would have let him do it. When I inspected the shower as he left, the part was actually installed incorrectly--so you couldn't even adjust the heat to the hotter setting! It was on the coldest setting when he tested to see if the new part brought hotter water! Worse yet, the leak continued 24 hours later when I tested it. John G did say I could call and have him come back if it continued to leak, but there was no way I was letting him back into my house. So, for $425 to address a leak and cold water, I was left with a leak and cold water.

On a positive note, John G did quote me $1,100 for a new hot water heater installation. That's a fair price. Still, $425 is nearly half that and this company was not getting any further business from me. They shouldn't get yours either.

Burton HVAC Services Plumbing Service
Darin was responsive, honest, and fixed my AC unit quickly at a very reasonable price.  I appreciated his candid and friendly demeanor.  He invited me to stay to watch he and his apprentice repair the unit which allowed me to understand the issues that was causing the malfunction.

I was so impressed with his work that I will be getting my furnace and AC units maintenanced from Burton HVAC every spring and fall.

Highly recommend you giving Darin a call.

Thornton & Grooms Plumbing Service
Technician did not show up at the scheduled time. I had to reschedule for another day (to come in first thing in the morning).
Technician shows up around 9:00AM (first appointment in the morning) at my front door. He checks the water filtration system I want him to install, that I bought separately based on what neighbors have installed and excellent customer reviews and NSF ratings. He tries to sell me a different water filtration system, which I decline.
Then says that the price to install my water filtration system is TWO GRANDS! I declined because it's too expensive for me for a 2 hour job.
In my opinion he quoted such high cost to install system because he is NOT COMPETENT in installing such system, and wanted to decline doing the job, yet taking the money ($49) for coming out to evaluate the job/location.

Hoover Plumbing Service
Hoover fixed my plumbing problem. My complaint is with their business practices. I noticed an online offer for any drain cleared for $89. I called and was told the offer only applied to drains cleared on the main floor, not the basement. Their guy showed up and, sure enough, he snaked the drain from below my kitchen sink on the main floor. I mentioned the $89 offer and he said it only applies to clogs within 5 feet of the sink. In actuality, I believe the clog was within 5 feet of the sink, but how could I prove that? I'm guessing nobody has ever gotten to use that $89 offer. In the end, I paid $200 for a 15-minute job that I believe should have cost me $89. I won't get fooled again.

Oak Electric Plumbing Service
Critical: Quality

Buyer beware: I normally only write reviews that are positive for good service I've received.. I choose not to write negative reviews based on possibly one bad employee I may have experienced at a company or service.
In the case of oak electric I feel I must share The very poor service of this company because my mother gave the owner Gary an opportunity to try to make the situation right. I'm upset with myself for pushing my parents in the direction of Oak electric for their generac whole house generator. They had gotten a total of 3 companies to quote.. They had a better price and much less maintenance cost offered from another company which was a more local business to their house.. But I stressed to them how Oak electric always runs commercials and seems to be the largest generac dealer. They must be the best and most dependable... We have since found out none of that mattered and maybe that's the reason they don't have time to properly take care of our customer like my parents. They ordered unit in 2020  to be installed in February 2021.. We knew my father was going to be on oxygen and this would be a critical component to keep the oxygen machines running in case of electricity loss. The unit was installed in February there were a couple of issues that didn't pass inspection in Westland that we had just reset up and have them come fix which they did. Then when their lawn sprinklers were turned on in the yard in the spring,  they discovered the generac unit was placed on top of a sprinkler head and had to have that line cut off underneath. That repair had to be done at My parents expense.  Then they had a power outage on 8/11/21.. They were so thrilled that their generac generator came on and was keeping everything going especially my dad's oxygen units.. They were grateful. But 35 hours into its first use running with the DTE power still out at 3:00 a.m. on Friday, It stopped working. They had to wait until 8:00 a.m. to call oak electric.. At approximately 1:30 that afternoon, Oak electric showed up and spent about an hour to repair it.. This is a 6-month-old unit that cost many thousands of dollars! They were charged for their first maintenance almost $300 at this point.. The technician said it had blown some type type of gasket,.. My parents also saw there was oil everywhere in the unit that the technician had to clean it up and I guess refill with oil.  The maintenance fee they did explain up front would be charged once a year, But 6 months in on a brand new unit that has failed and they were without electricity for many hours because of it, was very upsetting and now they feel worried something else may go wrong and they do not have the confidence in the system.  I told my mother she should give the owner of the company an opportunity to hear all the facts there are more.. and see what he says I thought at the minimum they would not charge the yearly inspection maintenance fee since it was only 6 months old, And they already have a power outage and the generac failed.. My mother wrote out a lengthy letter to him via email on 8/18/21. Later the next day the owner Gary called and said he was made aware of her letter and concerns,.. but was out of the office and will get back and would like to review it and will definitely call back and make this right.  Well that call never came.. she sent a short, follow-up note to him 8/24/21 stating that she assumed he's had a chance to read the letter but we are now assuming they don't intend to do anything to make it right?  The final question of her 2nd note,  was that in their information packet, it states there's an emergency number available 24/7 for instances like this but we don't know what the number is and can't find it anywhere could you please let us know that number for any issues in the future.. nothing was responded to. I so wish I could go back in time and not have pushed them to go with this company. All I can do now is give you our honest review and experience here and I am also going to write a letter to Generac regarding their unit failing on 1st use.
