Best Electric Furnace Installation in Detroit MI
Don't call these people on a weekend. They will send a young plimber with an attitude who just wants a quick fix and extras. When I inquired about a running toilet he told me the flush mechanism was out of date and he wanted to install an electric one with a button on the wall.

If you see one of their trucks on the road, get out of its way. Most likely looking at his phone and not paying attention to the road. What a joke.

It saddens me to be giving this company a 2-star rating. This was my experience.
I needed an electrician to remove a wall fan, venting my kitchen to the outside. I yelped an electrician, and got 5 added quotes from Yelp. Darin, the owner of Burton HVAC, was the very first response, and he gave me a low-ball quote of $85 fixed rate.
Well, they weren't rated on yelp, and had zero reviews. Their page said they had been in business for 19 years, and had electricians on staff, among others, so I decided to try googling the company to see if I could find anything else out about them. They had 5 5-star ratings on google. This being said, I assumed they were trying to increase their presence on yelp, by taking a loss on a few projects in order to get some 5-star reviews here. So, I decided to give them a try.
I called the number given in Darin's response, only to be met with Hello. It took me aback, and I had to ask twice if I was reaching Burton HVAC. I was, and Darin said he could come straight over! Unfortunately, it was a Wednesday or Thursday when I called, and I told him I would not be available until the following week. He could choose his date and time to visit, but it couldn't be Monday. Darin told me Tuesday at 1pm would work for him, so I put his visit on my calendar. He also asked me to text him my name, address, and the time and date of the appointment so he could add it to his calendar later.
On Monday, I received an invoice via text for the services he was going to provide. I've never been billed before meeting the service provider before. And on Tuesday at 11:47am, I received a text message saying that my appointment at 1pm was 'coming up'.
At 1pm, my son took our dog and left the house for an hour trying to get him out of the way during the service call. No one had arrived at that point. At 2pm, my son came home from lunch with our dog, and was surprised to see the fan still in the wall. I had not received a phone call or any communication from Burton HVAC at this point.
I texted Darin and said Weren't you supposed to be at my house at 1pm today? His response was Yes I was sending a technician your way and he should have been there at 1:00, let me see what's going on.
Darin called me 10 minutes later to tell me his technician was working on a job that was running over, and he still needed to do another job after that before he could see me! He then stated that he would just come over himself to do the work. I said that would be fine, and then he told me that it would be another 2 to 4 hours before he could make it to my house. I clarified with him that it meant he would be arriving at my house sometime between 4pm and 6pm. Darin then asked if I would like to be kept in the loop, and I told him Yes! Please let me know what is going on.
Well, 4pm came and went, 5pm came and went, and 6pm came and went, and STILL no contact from Darin or anyone at Burton HVAC.
At 6:24pm Darin texted. It read Okay if it's not too late I'll be heading your way. That will put me there at about 7:30
My husband was home, and was definitely not happy with the way things were going, but at that point I just wanted the work done. I was not confident that the guy would be able to be on time on any other day, and I didn't want to waste another 7 or 8 hours waiting again, so I told him We'll be here. And he responded with On my way!
Well, as you can guess, 7:30pm came and went without word from Darin. At 8:04pm, Darin texted I'm about 5 minutes away. He arrived by about 8:15pm... for a 1pm appointment.
Darin and his co-worker were very nice. They were obviously having a long day, but still trying to do the best job they could. I realized after they arrived that (I'm 99.9% sure) neither one of them were electricians.
They worked really hard to remove the fan from the wall of my house. It was in there good. Then, they just cut and capped the live electrical wires and dropped them in the wall of my house! An electrician would have known that doing that is a violation of building codes. My husband knew it, but at the time, I did not.
Anyway, the two gentlemen both worked hard while at my house. The fan is removed. They even put a towel in the hole and taped a bag over the opening to keep bugs, etc. out until we can have the gap sealed properly.
After they left, I returned a microwave cart to the area below the fan, and plugged it into the electrical receptacle there. After their visit, there is now no power to that receptacle. We now need to have another electrician come out to properly remove the electrical wires in the wall and fix the outlet for our microwave.
I feel Darin bit off more than he could chew with my job. He needed to send an electrician & if one wasn't available, he should have rescheduled. Or perhaps he should have never quoted my job in the first place.

Called Wednesday to get Cregger's to come out to repair a leaky bathroom sink and bathtub faucet. I was delighted when the scheduler said someone could be out on Friday (today) between noon and 5PM. I waited all afternoon. It is now 7PM. No service, no courtesy call, nothing. I wish I could give less than one star for this poor customer service and complete waste of my time.
Derrick called me personally on Saturday morning to apologize for the no-show and to reschedule the work for the following Monday. I was satisfied with his explanation and impressed that he readily owned the problem and was willing to bend over backwards to make things right. The repair was done on Monday as scheduled. James was professional and personable. Derrick even called later in the day to ensure that all was well. This was the type of service I had come to expect from Cregger's. So, presto, the one star becomes a five star!

Very fast, very neat, and professional.
It was raining quite hard the day they came to my place for a service visit, and I certainly appreciated the fact that they laid down a walkway of tarps so as not to destroy the carpet with muddy footprints as they traveled back and forth from the bathroom to their truck.
They were nice guys; courteous, and all business - they did the work, and got out of there as quickly as possible.
I'd use this guys again in a minute. They're like plumbing heroes.

I cannot say enough great things about Kip and Good Helpers Heating and Cooling!!!
My heat went out right before Christmas. I had 3 different repairmen over; all of them thought they had it figured out...only to have my house be cold three days later. I was at my wit's end and was venting about it, and a friend referred me to Kip. Needless to say, I was frustrated and tired of getting the run around when it came to my furnace. Kip offered to come over and look at it for me. He was beyond polite and professional, diagnosed the issue right away, AND fixed my furnace! He even called back the next day to make sure it was working. I would recommend Kip and Good Helpers to anyone looking for quality work at a fair price!

Called for after hour service since my heat is out and I have small kids. The guy finally called me back after an hour because he was sleeping even though the voicemail says someone will call you within a half hour. Got to my house and took a half hour just to tell me it was a bad igniter, which the diagnostic light was already saying... and it costs $30 every 15 minutes on top of the $109 to come out. Then I was quoted $480 (after he said I was looking at around $400 but apparently the price jumped up $80 when I asked for an exact amount) since an igniter after hours is supposedly $300?!? Igniters are not $300! So I wasted $170 to have someone come out, and not even fix anything! I sat and cried. I feel like I was taken advantage of and had to pack my kids up at 2am to go to a family members house because my house is way too cold. Now I get to spend more money I don't have to get someone to fix it and not rip me off. I get there's after hour pricing but almost $500?? Then has the nerve to tell me to have a good night while I have tears down my face. Wow.
Edit to add: Had someone from a different company come out the next day who diagnosed and got it done in 10 MINUTES for dirt cheap!

Seeing 13 5 star reviews already. I doubt this will be a surprise, but I worked with Mike for several days and couldn't be happier with the experience.
Mike ran several different solar panel project evaluations for us, swapping panel types and moving them around in our yard and house until he found the best setup that was still aesthetically pleaseing to us. He is always fast to respond via phone or email and is extremely knowledgeable on the entire install process. The best part, while oak electric is trying to sell their system, they haven't use high pressure sales tactics.
Disclaimer, I don't know if we will be able to complete our project (issues on my end). I hope we can, but either way I'd highly recommend them to anyone inquiring about solar in Michigan.

In this day and age where customer service is lacking by most companies, Thornton & Grooms puts the customer first- assuring that if there is any issue, it will be resolved. I will say I had far more success dealing with the office directly, then working through my salesperson or installer, all of which were polite, and straightforward with their duties. When an issue required resolution, a call to the office had me scheduled and finally completed in an acceptable period of time. Would I return - for sure. I really felt I was important to them.

Truly disgusted with the level of professionalism and service provided. We have been having issues with our AC unit and furnace and, unfortunately, discovered that our furnace needed to be replaced and couldn't be repaired. Since Hoover came out to look at the furnace to repair it, we decided to schedule a quote and new furnace install with them. They told us that they'd get back to us to get that all scheduled, but never reached out. When we reached out ourselves they scheduled us a week out of a quote and promised to put us on an urgency list (with hopeful next day installation, same week installation guaranteed) since we were living in a home with no AC in the height of summer. After that phone call, we were feeling hopeful. The next day, however, our hopes were completely tanked. We called to double check the quote window so one of us could be home and they told us they were still coming out for the quote, but couldn't do an install until a week later (we were told they scheduled us for the later date), but would try to get us higher up on the list. We called today to see if there was any movement and when to expect someone to come out for an install and they then informed us that we in fact WERE NOT scheduled for the day we thought we were scheduled for and were told we were scheduled for and that now they couldn't get someone out for an install for another 2 weeks. We have been in desperate need to get our furnace and AC fixed because the house has been measuring at 90 degrees indoors for 4 days straight and Hoover was made well aware of this. I understand that the season is busy, but when we are guaranteed same week installation, get pushed back with a guarantee of a different date only to find out they didn't actually put us on the schedule? I'm disgusted. DO NOT book anything with Hoover. They will just screw you over when you need it most. We are cancelling all future appointments with them and will NEVER be calling them again.
