Best Toilet Repair in Washington DC

Like most bigger plumbing companies, they have a pre-set price to perform a job.
If you want something done that you can't do yourself, then of course you expect to pay to have it completed. But you'd think an hourly rate would be quoted rather than menu pricing without seeing how easy/difficult the job will be.
When I called about my job I asked if there's a set price and I was told Yes. So I asked if they could tell me what it would be. The person in the field will have to tell you.
So, you don't know what your employee is going to charge me to do a job that your company has pre-determined I'll be charged?
Ummmmm, that doesn't make any sense.
Here's the hook; you make the appointment; wait for the plumber to arrive; they tell you there's a diagnostic fee, the fee is applied if you get the work done; then they tell you the cost, which they knew before they walked in the door.
Just know this going in and use them if you're comfortable with that process.
I was happy with the work performed, but the customer service side was lacking from the call takers, both scheduling and the manager who answered my question regarding their fees.

Mehrman was a big help with our plumbing problems.  Very personable, knowledgeable and reasonable.   Will definitely use him again

Johnathon, Alex, Eric, and Vince worked tirelessly over two days to overcome a botched HVAC installation with multiple mislabelings to get our heat working so we could weather a cold weekend. They were courteous and upbeat and even left us with spare space heaters when they had to return the next day with a specialty part. Truly great service and excellent people.

Think of the worst customer service you could possibly ask for and that's what you get at Thomas E Clark.  We called on a Sunday night w/ a water heater issue and by Thursday still did not have a straight answer about whether / how / if they could fix or replace the tank.  And calls went unanswered.  Servicemen were dispatched to our house twice (failing to even introduce themselves to us) and when they gave us a rough quote of the cost it was TWICE as expensive as what we ultimately got from another plumber, who did the job in 4 hours.  The failure to fix the problem is troubling, but the abhorrent customer service was really the deal breaker.

Very good experience. I called in the morning for a furnace which was blowing cold air and they were able to get a tech out same day.  He explained the issue and fixed it at no extra charge (aside from the dispatch fee) and performed general servicing for a very reasonable additional fee.  He communicated well about the cause of the issue and gave good advice on how to care for the furnace.

Showed up quickly for emergency flooded basement with deep water. Issue was handled competently and with good humor by JT .

Jonathan did a great job on replacing the four faucets and gave us great advice on which shower trim kit we need to buy.

He was on time, thorough, friendly and professional.  I wouldn't hesitate to call them again for any plumbing issues we have.

Response was very fast and times where flexible. The crew was friendly and knowledgable. The price however was a rip-off. I was impatient and settled because no A/C for a week was taking its toll. A fan motor replacement should not be over a $1000. another crew would have done it for half that.

Quick and accommodating. Recognized issues and new how to resolve them. Great value.

We had a backyard bib pipe that was leaking somewhere in the wall. The plumber, Khalid, was absolutely remarkable! First when requesting a direct quote, his communication was quick, and pricing was very reasonable. Moreover, he communicated with me throughout the whole experience. I was able to show him a picture of what the situation was in advance so he could come in knowing what the issue was regarding. He arrived at our hour exactly when he estimated he was going to arrive, which was perfect. He was extremely knowledgeable about my leaking pipe and was able to correct the issue better than it was before as well as educate me on what most likely had caused the issue! In order to get to the pipe some of the drywall had to be removed, which he was able to do skillfully and cleanly. Furthermore, he was able to patch my drywall back three hundred times better than what it was before.

I don't understand how this service does not have more reviews because the work that was done was absolutely phenomenal and if there was a six star I could give, I would! Service, Communication, and knowledge was A+ and I will definitely use this service again if I run into trouble with my plumbing issues.

Just moved into a townhome in Silver Spring and was already having some trouble with a couple of the bathrooms. One was loose or something and leaked at the bottom onto the tile as soon as it was flushed, so that made a bit of a mess that had to be cleaned up. Another one had some deteriorating pump materials inside the tank, particularly the rubber flapper, that had come completely away from its connections and prevented the toilet bowl from refilling with water, so basically it would not flush. Put in a maintenance request for all of this to be addressed to the property manager, and within two days of putting in the request, a plumber from JF Plumbing and Heating arrived, earlier than the four-hour timeframe the company had originally indicated, and he got right to work and was done within 15 minutes. Fixed both toilets; basically the one that leaked had to have a bolt re-tightened at the bottom that holds the commode to the floor, and the other one he put in a brand new, functional rubber stopper.
I was expecting to be there at the house all morning waiting on a plumber, but he was quick and I ended up going back to work quickly. So glad they were considerate of other people's time and appreciate them for sending someone who took care of the problems. I also liked the fact that as soon as the plumber noticed all-wood flooring in the home, he tied plastic bags over his boots to ensure he tracked no moisture or mud through the home.

My house had gas leak at the valve next to the fireplace. So we needed a gas plumber to come in as soon as possible, be honest, and professional. The first time the gas plumber came, he charged me $258 for diagnosis of the leaking spot, taking out the broken valve and putting a cap at the gas entering end. That is fine. And at that time, he said the total would be $500ish including today's payment when he finishes the whole work (put a new valve back and connect the pipes) next time. When I made the appointment for the second part of the repair, the front desk lady told me according to the quote she can see, the total would be $550 including last time's payment. Okay that seems fair. So I had them scheduled to come back 3 days after I made the call. When the gas plumber came, he said the total price is $800+, and we need to pay $500 extra today. And I said nobody told me this quote at all before you told me today, and during the whole 3 days after I called, nobody updated me with this new quote, that's why I had you guys come since everything was around the price range both people previously talked about. And he said he would talk to his manager now to see if they could give any discount. He came back and said the total would be $590+, and if we chose not to do it, we would be charged $39 for them coming here.

His argument for this ridiculous price increase was that  he's not familiar with the computer system and the billing company already put the price there but the front desk could not see it, and at this point, I think this is kind of scam and bullshit. I had to pay that $39 to let them leave my house... Now we can live without 39 dollars and them wasting our time with this numbers game to push you with high price at the end to make you feel like you have no choice but to do the repair then. However, I just don't think a previous quote from 500s to all of sudden high 800s seems like a marketing gimmick that worked before to anyone else but I didn't buy it.

Therefore, if you want to work with them make sure you know that they can change their mind about pricing at the second visit. They will make you feel pressured to fix it.

Will not recommend this place nor will work with them. Not open book with their numbers and their prices fluctuate tremendously. How can anyone trust that? You guys decide.

Can't say enough good things about the work Carlton did. He was honest and meticulous and very careful to make sure the job got done right. It could have turned into a much bigger job but he took a very patient and conservative approach and got it done with the least amount of impact on the house. I'll use him again for sure.

I am really impressed with the professionalism, quality of work, and level of care that Avi had in my home. We had a major issue with the sump pump, and he was able to diagnose the issue and fix it very quickly. It also did not cost an arm and a leg to fix the issue, there were no hidden costs as with many other contractors. I would recommend Heil plumbing, and especially Avi, to anyone.

Responsive and clear communication, professional service, competitive pricing. They installed 2 new toilets, removed the old ones removed, fixed a gasket on my dryer, and adjusted the tub drain.  Great experience and highly recommend.

I reached out to get under sink repairs. I got a quick response. They were flexible with my schedule and limited availability and were even able to come after work to complete the repairs. They did better than I was expecting and the price was reasonable.

We needed our garbage disposal replaced. Mathew responded quickly and was willing to work with us on the price! Out of the five local companies we quoted his price was the best! He kept us apprised on his arrival time and finished the job quickly and professionally. We will definitely be using him for all future jobs!!!!

Received four quotes for three major home projects: A complete master bathroom remodel, a new deck, and replacement of a drop ceiling with sheetrock and repair of a water-damaged wall in a guest bedroom.
The first three quotes were from high end remodelers. A friend recommended Allen Geoffrey's Handyman Services to us (she had just had her bathroom remodeled). Geoff and his crew (Mark and Brian) came out to survey the jobs. They spent more time with me going over what work we wanted and what our major concerns were. They suggested a comprehensive plan of attack from top to bottom. We were consulted at every step of each of the projects to ensure that our expectations and design elements were incorporated.
Their price quote came in thousands (yes, thousands) of dollars less than the three previous quotes. While they don't provide the design assistance of the high end contractors, they met us at a big box contractor store and helped us color-coordinate our design interests. They took care of ordering all the various pieces parts needed and got us a significant discount on materials.
First, they replaced the deck to install flashing (that the previous home owner neglected to do), that led to the water damage in the guest bedroom. The deck was brought up to code and revealed serious problems with the previous deck installation.
After the deck was done, the crew split off into two teams, one working on the master bathroom, the other, working on the guest bedroom.
The crew took care of hauling off all old materials and cleaned up after each day. The work was first-rate.
As with any major home project, unexpected/unforeseen problems arise. While removing the water-damaged sheetrock in the guest bedroom, major water damage was discovered to the exterior wall. Geoff gave me a very reasonable labor estimate to repair the wall. That wall is now the strongest in the house.
They show up when expected, every day, until the job is done.  They go beyond what is expected to ensure that the client is happy with the direction the project is headed.
I highly recommend these master plumbers. I guess my highest endorsement is that, when our kitchen cabinets come in, Geoff and his crew will be doing our complete kitchen remodel (again, coming in thousands of dollars less than the high-end contractors). If you need any work done to your home, give them a call. They will not disappoint you.

As first time homeowners, we cannot recommend Jorge and the team at Drainworks highly enough. We moved into a new home at start of year and twice now they have bailed us out on issues that have come up to the point that we no longer bother with our home warranty. You can't put a price on trustworthiness. The prices are more than reasonable and you can feel comfortable that you are in good hands.
