Best Drain Repair in Washington DC

Called Reddick & Sons because our heating unit for our upstairs died on us.  It's freezing outside so we needed someone to come out quick.  They answered my call first thing in the morning when I reached out to them.  Their receptionist was pleasant and accommodating, offering to send a technician out right away that afternoon.  Fees were simply explained and the technician arrived right on time.  My husband was home to talk to David (the technician) and when I arrived home from my errands, he raved about how thorough and good he was.  He was very impressed by David's knowledge and willingness to show us how everything works and what to watch for to keep things in good condition.  My husband never raves about anyone, so that says something.  Thanks Reddick!

Called for estimate on pressure relief valve and main house water valve repair.  Three other estimates were ~$1100 but this company estimated $720 so I took the chance and hired them.   Turns out there's a single employee (Mehran) in Arlington who's been doing plumbing several years for Bob & Kur but still no license or business truck or uniform or invoice for work completed (hence 4 stars).  Nonetheless, he was friendly, good communicator, had full tool set, on time and professional.  He looked & talked like he had lots of plumbing experience.  The only inconvenience was he had to re-schedule for the next day when he arrived and realized he'd bought the wrong part.  The repair looks excellent, the area was left clean and the price was 30% lower than other estimates.   Despite the lack of license I'd hire him again.

For 2 or 3 years I used Sila for my twice-yearly HVAC inspections and had no complaints until one of their technicians told me that I needed a capacitor replaced in my furnace/AC (the air exchanger) and another capacitor in my heat-pump (motor/condenser).  When I asked how much to swap them out, the quotes were $250 and $300 respectively, parts and labor, but the technician also said that the quote was only good if I agreed to do the work right then.

Worried that I was being swindled, I told the technician that I'd think about it and get back to him.  Checking online, I found that the furnace/AC capacitor is a $25 part--the heat-pump capacitor slightly more at $45.  So these bozos were going to charge me $225+ for a part that took the technician a total of 15 minutes to remove, show to me, and then re-install when I wouldn't agree to his sky-high price?

It took another full year before a Sila competitor flagged the same two capacitors as likely to fail, and their price to do the replacement?  $60 for the AC/furnace and $72 for the heat-pump, parts included.

Buyer beware.  Sila has pretty aggressive pricing for routine service, but they'll charge all that the traffic will bear for anything else.

We have used Thomas E Clark before, and so I called them to service a toilet. They came the next day, when they said they would. Davon was totally suited out in protective gear: face mask, gloves and booties for his shoes. Turns out we needed a new toilet, and he had one on the truck! He replaced ours immediately, left a totally clean space and was out the door in an hour. I call that excellent service, at a reasonable price. Thank you, Clark!

This is a really good, family owned business. From the first phone call to the repair work for our heating and air conditioning system, the Staff were very friendly and efficient.

Jack is great. Super considerate and listened to me about the leak problem. He didn't dismiss me or try one fix to show an attempt. He checked everything to make sure the leak was fixed. He cleaned up the site. He wore his  the entire time. Jack was knowledgeable about fixing leaks and other plumbing tasks. I'll request him if we have any other plumbing requests.

The only reason I selected a 1 bcz there wasn't an option for 0.  I called Plumb based on yelp ratings. The service manager that came out was very nice and had good reviews. No doubt he had some knowledge when he came to give an estimate and good customer service but after the second visit the water heater tripped again, he told me to get an electrician after spending money with the company to get elements changed and thermostats not upper and lower changed. Called around for electricians and no one would come bcz they said the circuit breaker is not tripping it's a plumber issue if only in water heater. Called Plumb back same tech came back out and changed top thermostat out and said if that doesn't work you may need another water heater. In my mind as a professional i know to get 3 opinions or bids on major purchase recommendations. Fed up and looking for results and answers I reached out to my Nextdoor neighbor community.  I found a plumber that offered to help me and had trusted reviews as well. The tech from the second company came at 845 am and tested everything.  Finding out that the bottom thermostat never shut off. So he ran a couple of cycles and did all wire checks and still no cut off.  Water heating up fast and very hot which first company was alerted to. I sat this time and watched everything.  He changed out bottom thermostat since I told him Plumb already changed out the top one twice. He put heat to the one he removed and it never went off.  The heat to the new one he came with shut off.  He still waited patiently another hour to make sure the breaker on the water heater didn't trip and that the thermostat shut off or told the element to stop heating however that works. Long behold it's been over 24 hours and no trips. Yes it took him 6 hours to test test patiently test and find answers and wait to make sure. That is what you call service. I contacted Plumb and they said sorry you are not satisfied. Not satisfied, you gave me a faulty part and then was going to try to sell me a water heater for 2600. - what I paid already. This is not good service. And I called to let them know I was going to rate them a 1 on yelp and was giving them a heads up. The receptionist said oh I will have the owner contact you. No contact from the owner and it is over 24 hrs later. I now know where all my business will go and I will not recommend this company AT ALL. They want to get in and out to get to the next job and you can be left with a huge expense.

My family and just returned from vacation last night to discover we had no hot water. I went through the yelp find a business and Kahlid responded within 15 mins and was able to come out to the house within 2 hours! He was able to fix the issue and we are good to go. Muhammad is indeed an exceptional plumber, as well as a nice, honest guy.  We've hired him a few times for our plumbing needs (gas leak, leaky pipes, dishwasher drain issue, etc), and he's always gotten the job done at a reasonable price.  We rely on Muhammad for our plumbing needs, and would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a top notch plumber.

Needed a drain stopper removed which was difficult on my part given the way it broke and the position. They were responsive and got the job done promptly. The only drawback was the price point. Factor cost of parts and this should have been maxed half of what they charged. But I knew that upfront and needed this repair quick. Others just quoted the cost to visit but needed to see the damage before quoting so there is that. Overall, solid people and service was great, just a bit on the high side.

Responsive and clear communication, professional service, competitive pricing. They installed 2 new toilets, removed the old ones removed, fixed a gasket on my dryer, and adjusted the tub drain.  Great experience and highly recommend.

This a business that I would highly recommend.  I have used this business for several of my plumbing needs.  The response time was remarkable.  When they showed up, they were prompt, knowledge and gave real time estimates for the completion of the work.  Having contractors show up with a positive attitude and a willingness to complete a job with leaving no question unanswered is very important to me.  I have always been satisfied with the work completed.  Finding a reliable company to complete jobs can be difficult but when you find one, you treat it as gold, and DJ's pluming is that company that a value :o)  You won't be disappointed.

Very quick response and able to come that same night after finishing up another job over 1 hour away.  Very reasonably priced and honest.  Will use him for future jobs and highly recommend him!

I called Jorge and he responded to my Yelp inquiry within the hour, as well as responded to the actual issue within 48 hours. We needed a valve stem replacement, which was such an old model we thought it would be impossible to find. Jorge was very professional, knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly throughout the course of the repairs. He was able to replace the valve stem and even caulked the affected area for us.

i Have used them on a few occasion , lets face it Baltimore row homes built in the 50s tend to have some issues!! Melisa is very friendly and helpful.. She really takes the time to explain everything to you ..I have never been unhappy with their service.. and they are very reasonable priced.. This is one of the most (if not THE most) responsive plumbing companies I've ever dealt with. I called Champion in hopes that they would be able to help us with a sewage obstruction that we were encountering and they came on site within the hour. I've never experienced anything like it (and this was on a holiday weekend). As it turned out, this was county issue and not an issue with our home plumbing. We were offered all of the information we needed to have the obstruction removed and everything rectified. Overall great customer service - thank you, Champion!
