AJ and Dee were amazing, Dee called me back two minutes after I called so she could check if someone was nearby and AJ came not ten minutes later and had my toilets unclogged so quickly!!! Amazingly quick and efficient service! Thank you so much for all your help Beast Bay!!!

My landlord hired Mr. Rooter to install a gas shutoff valve on the gas meter on my house and my neighbors house. A plumber named Lance came over at 8AM and installed mine first. When he turned the gas back on I told him where all the pilot lights were that had to be re-lit. Oh those are self-lighting he said. I said no, they are not self-lighting! After a little argument about what kinds of appliances I had, he said well I can check. I took him to all of the pilots--water heater, floor furnace, and three pilots on the stove--and I watched as he re-lit each one.

When he finished at my house, he began working on the neighbor's shutoff valve. I checked that he didn't need access to my unit anymore, and I locked up and went to work around 10AM. I had an uneasy feeling about that guy unfamiliarity with gas appliances all day, so I decided to go home early to check on the house and make sure my cats were okay. When I opened my front door at 4PM, I was almost knocked over by the natural gas that poured out.  I found my two cats were still alive, so I stuffed them into carriers, ran outside and called 911.

The fire department got there within one minute, shut off the gas, contacted PG&E, and began taking readings. One fire fighter remarked that my cats were alive because my bedroom window was open.  They brought giant fans into the house to air out the gas while we waited for PG&E.

I called the plumber and the landlord and when the plumber saw what was going on he said that it was the old stove. (The stove is fine.) After I pressed him for more information, he finally admitted that he had accidentally triggered my shutoff valve while he was installing the neighbor's shutoff valve, and then he simply turned the gas back on in my house WITHOUT RE-LIGHTING ANY PILOT LIGHTS. My house filled up with natural gas from four different un-lit pilot lights for the next six hours.

This plumber knows next to nothing about common gas appliances, and he is a danger to any customer who hires him to do any work related to gas lines. I have reported him to the CA State Licensing Board.

UPDATE and two added stars ten days later:
Spencer, the owner, called me to apologize and assure me that he takes this very seriously. He said that he spent an hour talking to Lance about his poor judgement and he is updating his training to include this issue. He said that he gave my landlord a full refund on the installation of the shutoff valves. I hope all of this is true.

I can say that Spencer's apology and acknowledgement meant a lot to me, because the incident left me feeling horrible about trusting anyone who calls himself a professional. Most of us want to believe that the professionals know best, and trust that they would never do anything to jeopardize our safety. It's frightening when that trust is broken.

I think they do really good. What ever the problems are I see them sweat they really get the job done I feel so bad cause I had an altercation with the tall white guy but now I feel bad about it he works hard and he's cute I feel bad cause I was yelling at him outside but they all do a great job and they get the job done. I would like to see the tall guy again so I can apologize.I would pic them for the job cause they work hard.

I had an emergency water leaking issue on Friday late night. Jill wholeheartedly listened to my problem and offered all the help. You rock!

Why is it that plumbing problems only happen at the worst possible times? Thankfully, my neighbor recommended Joven.

From a clogged toilet (yes, I flushed the rubber tub plug) to an aged hot water heater that needed to be put out to pasture, he's here -  early in the morning, on a weekend, every time I felt horribly guilty about asking him to come over. It's done right, it's done right away and it's way more affordable than I expected.

This was the most efficient and quality  experience in major. Water heater replacement.  Although nine years ago this same plumber, Edgar, replaced another water heater for our duplex home so glad I remembered the name of the company.
Did excellent work and cleaned the area.  Also had to replace a water valve .  Gave me advice on how to avoid the water drainage situation in future.  
I give you  my most hearty recommendation.

As good as it gets. Jac came the same day I called (within hours) and swiftly diagnosed the issue with my backed up bathroom sink, snaked it, cleaned the line, replaced some pipe parts, and then went on to fix three other minor issues with my toilet, sink stopper, and bath stop. The entire time she was working, she was open to explaining to me how I could do some of the fixes myself in the future to save money. Quick, efficient, helpful, professional and save for the relief of having a functioning kitchen sink again, the best part was pulling my 9-year-old daughter in the bathroom to watch Jac work, teach and talk about how she got into her trade.

Our garbage disposal was broken. I posted a quote on Yelp and got quick response from United Plumb. In addition to quick response and good communication, they did great and clean job on installing a new one.  And they charged a fair market value. I am very happy with their service.

Old buildings such as our Edwardian in San Francisco are full of charm but they can also present plumbing nightmares! We experienced one recently when the 100+ year old main bathroom pipes in the upstairs unit started leaking into my downstairs unit. Our usual plumber was not available. What to do?

Turning to Yelp, Alansi's' Plumbing checked out with excellent reviews and comments about fair prices. So we hired them.

I want to second other positive comments and especially thank Khaled who managed the job (with support from Mo the second day).

The company responded promptly to our call for help and Khaled arrived to start the job less than an hour later. He quickly identified the problem and went about the multiple steps to replace the leaking pipe after removing the sheet rock in the upstairs and downstairs units. This turned out to be a time consuming two day job. Khaled was courteous, clear in explaining his work process, dedicated to completing the job in a timely manner and very clean in managing every stage of the job.

I called Oaklane Rooter Solely based on the reviews. I have a hot water heater in San Leandro that needed replacement. I called them from Florida. Long distance, they were outstanding. Both Ignacio and Eddie inspired trust immediately for me. Eddie came out, stayed in communication with me, Replaced my water heater and checked associated parts, did a repair that needed to be done unbeknownst to me, and charged me a reasonable rate. Top notch company!  Quick to respond and provided a fast, fair and free estimate to replace my almost 70 year old sewer lateral.  Not only did they provide the best price, they were able to schedule the job within a  week of bid acceptance.  And even though it turned that I had two separate lines at the foundation that merged to the lateral, there were no additional charges.  The crew arrived when they said they would and finished an hour ahead of schedule the same day. I can rest assured that I will never have to deal with the inconvenience of a clogged line and rooter call.  As a bonus, they also provided photos of their progress.  I highly recommend their service!

This review is in regards to the ineptitude of the office staff, not the plumber or the plumber's work.  I have a gas leak at the site of my heater in the basement, and PG&E told me I have to have a plumber fix it. PG&E gave me 10 days to fix the leak or the gas would be shut off.  I called Heise and explained the issue and was given an appointment.

When the appointment time comes, nobody shows up.  I called the office and the rude woman who answered told me they can't find me in their records.  She checked with the other woman who I had spoken to make the appointment and she denied it.
Additionally, they said they don't even do that type of work. Meanwhile I just lost a week out of my 10 day deadline dealing with these liars.  I would steer clear of this plumber if you can, or until they get new office staff.

Frank was very honest and straight forward.  He told me the cost of the labor and advise me there's some mark on the parts.  He didn't have anyone that can come out on a Sunday night but they can arrange someone for Monday afternoon.  I texted him next Monday morning if he has anyone earlier.  He sent someone to come over in the next 2 hours.  They gave me a reasonable quote and they completed the work with in a hours.  They technician was very friendly and straight forward. I already ask for quote for other works that I am planning to do.  Great service and straight forward.
