Nice people to work with from Dayton in the office to Robert who provided a free estimate to Carl who did the work. Everyone was great, answered all of my questions and was happy to show me details about my tankless water heater for which I needed isolation valves installed.

We needed to have the drainage pipes in our front yard examined with a video camera, and they were able to come out the same day I contacted them. They were very friendly and were able to give us an estimate to resolve our drainage problem within the week. So happy to find someone who could provide a camera inspection on outside drainage, as it seems difficult to find companies who will do this.

I just love this team.. working through a major remodel with a very difficult GC and Stanley has been a lifesaver.  Not only is their work top notch - they are also really ethical solid people that are a pleasure to work with.  No drama, no fuss - just really solid work and communication.  

Wish more people in the industry were like this.

Toilet broke this morning.  After calling all over town  and leaving messages, Nick at Advanced Plumbing immediately picked up the phone and was over in a couple hours despite a very busy day.  He was a few minutes later than his estimate which didn't bother us at all.  Nevertheless he volunteered to do the $125 job for free!   Did it in a couple minutes and did it well.  Feel bad we didn't give him a bigger tip but we'll definitely call back. Highly recommended!

Our sump stopped working this morning and the alarm went off as it reached near the top. Joven arrived within an hour of calling, and fixed everything quickly - he showed me the BIG bag of grease he cleaned out of the pump which had been the source of the problem (kitchen sink and dishwasher is also connected via the sump).  He recommended annual inspection and service in future to avoid a very costly replacement.
Highly recommended-  fast, honest and reasonable prices, even on a Saturday.

We had Gregg come out to get a quote on piping a gas line for a fireplace conversion. Gregg was able to come out within a day to assess, then be back within like a week and knock it out in a day. Permits and all. One stop shopping. Gregg and crew were awesome to work with, super friendly and did top notch work. Highly recommend for plumbing renovation needs! Would not hesitate for future work.

Very professional plumbers. We needed our line from the clean out to the street to be snaked as roots keep growing in. They have been the most thorough plumbers we have used. Their equipment looked a lot newer too. He showed me with the camera where exactly our issues are.

Bedr is super responsive and professional. I should have called a lot sooner!!  I had been procrastinating a bunch of small projects for months thinking that I was going to DIY them, but I finally stopped the madness and called!  It took less than 1 hour to hang 2 floating shelves, photos that had been laying around forever, and 4 spice racks in my kitchen !! He came prepared with all the tools and knew what he was doing.  He even checked out my annoying toilet that was constantly running and showed me the problem so I could fix it myself if it happened in the future. This Company is the best! I used them to gain sewer lateral compliancy on a house we purchased in Berkeley late last year. They came next day once I sent the signed contract, started the job and it was done within 2 days WITH approval from city of Berkeley. The inspector that came to sign off knew the company and the owners of Harry Clark on first name basis--clearly this company has been around and knows how to work efficiently and what to do. They are Incredibly professional and they left our yard exactly as they found it. Every other company that gave me a quote for this job was way above their price and did not promise to replace any landscaping that was damaged during work. I will DEFINITELY be using them again. Saul was very responsive, on time, Fernando the tech was very knowledgeable with a qui turnaround, reasonably priced. Would recommend them. We're a property management company and Five Star Plumbing is our go to.

I had high hopes for this plumber but when he called me this morning and told me I was out of his area but he would still do my sink and faucet installation, he then told me he would have to charge me travel time. He also told me he might have to cut my granite counter top to make it larger for the stainless steel sink. This horrifed me. Sorry Pipe Art but we aren't going to be seeing you for our project.

Joyous day- our household no longer leaks!

We first asked Zayah over to replace a pair of showerheads that were installed forty years ago and completely stuck on. He took care of us rapidly and efficiently, then took a look at the seven sinks we had that all were leaking. Based on his advice, we ordered appropriate faucets for all of them and asked him back.

That's where his work began. Our plumbing was a DISASTER. We had drains that fell apart when touched and handles that broke when turned. Significant time spent cutting out old drains, replacing angle stops, and having to go out to the local hardware store for necessary parts. (Such as the unexpectedly new drain. We'd already planned to replace four of the others and were prepared for those. Sigh.)

Zayah was amazing and worked us into his schedule as he could, especially given the expected and unexpected needs of our project. His rates are phenomenal and his work ethic top notch. We can't recommend his work enough!

I've had Jac back twice since I wrote my first review, most recently a couple weeks ago to replace our upstairs toilet.
Earlier this year she replaced our downstairs toilet with an awesome low-flow toilet which uses half the water and has got to be - simultaneously - twice as powerful. No more icky having to go back and check!
And then, since the toilets came with a plastic, less-than-comfy seat, she replaced both seats with nicer (also brand new) ones, for free.
AND, the second time she came, she fixed our (third, not efficient) office toilet, for free! Even though it needed a replacement part, she didn't charge for it.

Jac is really nice, has gotten back to me instantly each of the three times I've called. And she likes the dog, which is a plus.

I don't know how anyone could not love Jac, and proof is that the very, very rare non-5-star reviews here are from people who didn't even use her services.

I called Jac after reading the reviews on yelp. I had a variety of small plumbing issues.

And I happily found that Jac lives up to her reputation.

Mellow, methodical, and professional enough, but a real person and an honest human being.
She's inexpensive but thorough and also happy to show you how stuff works so you can fix it the next time by yourself!

I highly recommend her.

The technician, named Bella, came to check out my water heater after so many failed attempts from the other places. She suggested I needed a new water heater since all the parts were replaced, but it still wasn't working properly. She noticed there was an inner gas leak, which the other plumber place failed to notice. She knew exactly what she was talking about. That same day, my water heater was replaced and installed.

Ben was great to work with. We had him come out to help replace a garbage disposal unit. He was the fastest to give me an available slot within the next 24h out of 5 other handymen on Yelp and was easy and smooth to communicate with via text. He was knowledgeable at the job and very efficient at getting the work done, as well as fastidious e.g. during tidyup. I would recommend Ben!

Would you like to be lied to and left with giant holes in your yard for 3 weeks? Would you like to have to continuously call begging for updates on getting said holes filled in? We were told this would be a one-day job. It's been almost 3 weeks, and there are giant holes in our yard from our sewer repipe, including holes that allow rodents access to our crawlspace that we had just had reinforced by an exterminator.

Wizard Plumbing and Drain has not proactively contacted us once in those 3 weeks. We've had to keep calling and calling and every time we get the same run-around about how the city inspectors are way behind. But we contacted the city, and Wizard Plumbing hadn't even applied for the proper permits they were supposed to before they started our work. In fact, I can see on the city website that one permit was only applied for 12 days after they did the work--after we'd already been calling and hearing the same lie about waiting on inspection.

The inspector hasn't even been scheduled, because the city is waiting on information from Wizard plumbing that they've failed to provide. So they keep saying they're waiting on an inspection, but they cannot even REQUEST an inspection because they didn't do what they were supposed to for permits. Here's a quote from the email response we received from the city:

Due to the permits not being issued yet, an inspection cannot be requested. I also spoke with [Name omitted] who works in Permits. They are waiting for the plumbing company to satisfy certain conditions; they have been waiting for this information from Wizard Plumbing since September 29, 2021 and have not heard back from them. I apologize for your experience, but the hold up is not on our end and there is no scheduled appointment with an inspector.

This is an absolute nightmare. They keep lying to us and blowing us off. DO NOT USE Wizard Plumbing under any circumstances. Super shady practices.

I call them when I needed my sinks unclogged and he educated me on what snake I needed to let the technician know next time to use.  He was neat and cleaned up after doing his job. I have used their services for years and never fail, they helped me every time with efficiency and professionally.  They are my go to plumbing company.

I have used Oakland Rooter & Plumbing on several of my properties. They have always been efficient and professional.

I will continue using them as the need arises.

I was disappointed that they advertise widely that estimates are free, when in fact their charge for evaluating a sewer line for a general inspection is $250 (e.g., for escrow inspections). It's only free when you're having a problem and need that problem fixed (for more $). It would feel less like bait if they stated this on their website instead of writing all over that estimates are free. I did not end up using this service. They were prompt to respond to inquiries and quick to schedule a time, so 4-stars for a good professional showing, but minus 1 for the lack of transparency about cost on their website.

Had a bit of a false start with these fellas. Apparently the first plumber they sent over never ordered the parts that were needed - just plain forgot. After a little more back and forth they fixed the problem - quick and courteous. I would use them again.
