I almost never take the time to write reviews for businesses. With BeastBay Plumbing, however, I am happy to share my positive experience. We had a situation with overflow in the garage and had a different plumber charge us a lot of money to put a band-aid on the problem rather than fix the source. The guys at BeastBay Plumbing, however, went out of their way to fix the source of the problem.

You could be the best plumber in the world and I still wouldn't fault you if you didn't know how to use a jackhammer, or how to properly pour concrete. Again, these guys are different. They seem to have a real passion for the job and they go out of their way to earn their stellar reputation. Consider me an extremely satisfied customer.

We contacted 5 star plumbing the day after moving into our new home. We discovered 2 leaks and a water related past event that we needed repair and investigation on. Adam was the plumber that responded to our request and he was awesome to work with. He identified and fixed both leaks right away.  He also was able to help with possible causes of the previous water issue that left some stains but was nothing to be actively concerned about. I would recommend working with Adam for any plumbing issues that you may have.

This review is long overdue. The only thing I can say is, thank goodness Edgar was faster at providing excellent service than I was at writing this review.

The night before Thanksgiving, with tons of food being prepared and lots of garbage to dispose of, I realized that our existing garbage disposal (the Ace Hardware brand - don't buy one) was leaking badly into the cabinet under the sink. Edgar returned my call almost immediately and was standing in my kitchen within an hour. He diagnosed a ruptured chamber in the disposal, and provided a perfectly reasonable free estimate for replacement and installation. He headed out to the hardware store on the one of the worst traffic nights of the year, came back with an In-Sink-Erator unit and efficiently completed the installation. The bill was actually LESS than his estimate, despite the amount of time he had spent in traffic.

Our garbage disposal was broken. I posted a quote on Yelp and got quick response from United Plumb. In addition to quick response and good communication, they did great and clean job on installing a new one.  And they charged a fair market value. I am very happy with their service.

I have used Harry Clark on a limited basis over the past 20 years. They are a professional outfit and back when I first used them (pre-Yelp) they were who you used in Oakland. I used their services both personally and referred to my real estate clients who were new to most of the basic home service people.

What I've found over the years is that it has become harder and harder to refer their company to my clients for the small jobs. If it's a big job, you get on the board, but if it is a small to medium-sized job, you're going to wait. And the bids were increasingly less competitive compared to smaller operations. For instance, to check a water heater, that had a few issues, they charge a $160 fee just to come out and do an inspection which isn't applicable to the job later. What the ???

Overall, I found the work of their contractors just fine. However, unless they are doing major work like replacing a furnace, don't bother calling them. There are other companies who treat each job like an opportunity to help and earn your business.

I have used Heise's plumbing twice now and both times they did a good job, were on time, and thorough.  I expecially want to send a shout out to Greg, who is very knowledgeable and didn't treat me like an idiot for not understanding the details of residential plumbing.  They fixed my blockage and charged a fair price.  I highly recommend them.  They are an honest company.

Todd has done many inspections for my clients and one time while clients were out of town discovered that the water was leaking before he had a chance to inspect it. Without asking or telling me the cost, he went to his truck, got his trusty water hose and started draining the water heater. He saved the clients from coming back to home possibly flooded. Todd and his crew get the work done and always make themselves available with in the time period promised. When they repair a water heater, furnace or a gas-shut off valve or put in a new one they get the work done and they clean up after themselves.

The Plumbing Guys really saved us over the holiday weekend. We called them, they promptly replied and reported to our house to help a major plumbing issue. The plumber was nice and professional. We would use them again in a heart beat!

I can't rave enough about Joel's plumbing expertise and outstanding service from Golden Coast Plumbing and Rooter! When my toilet started leaking, my wife and I were in a panic. It smelt terrible! Thankfully, Joel and his uncle came to the rescue, and he's nothing short of a plumbing superhero!

Damon at Berkeley Home Repair responded to my initial query within ten minutes. After fully assessing the problem I had described, he got back to me to say someone could be there within the day. His electrician arrived on time and repaired the issue within a half hour of being there. Great communication, follow up, and repair. So happy it went so smoothly! Thanks guys!

I spent an afternoon, including a trip to the hardware store, trying to fix a clogged toilet myself.  I said to myself Learning to use a drain snake is a valuable life lesson. That was not good advice; I should never listen to myself.

I called Bay Rooter around 5:00, and he was here by 5:30.  Gave me a price upfront ($125 - which is reasonable compared to similar companies) and fixed my embarrassing problem in maybe 10 or 15 minutes.  Made no mess, gave no attitude.  I would call him again for this, or a more complex job.

Paul and the entire staff at VanGo Rooter were helpful, professional, and efficient! I called at 9:30 AM for a damaged faucet and the window was 2 - 5 PM with an emphasis that it may be closer to 5 PM. To my surprise and delight, Paul arrived around 2:30 PM and walked me through all the steps of what was damaged. He explained a bit about the materials of my shower and gave me some tips on how to maintain a leak.  Paul was friendly, and thorough - definitely would call them again if needed!

Expert Plumbing got back to us very quickly in response to an online quote request, and communicated perfectly throughout the process. They were able to come out the same day to fix an issue with the kitchen sink, actually just within a couple of hours of us calling, for a very reasonable quote. Our plumber, Leo, was friendly and knowledgeable and provided a lot of useful information in addition to doing the job.  Very happy with the result and the service, and would definitely call Expert Plumbing again if we needed something done, especially on short notice.

I had no hot water and tried to light the pilot several times and it would not work. It was getting close to 5:00 and I was scrambling to find someone to come and get my hot water working. Jim from Smart Rooter and Plumbing was the first one to respond. He came by earlier than expected. It took some detective work to figure out the problem. Somehow there was no gas coming in. He took a look at my gas meter and realized the earthquake shut off valve got triggered. Not sure how that happened. He reset the valve and voila. I now have hot water. I highly recommend Jim. He is responsive, professional and knows what he's doing. I first tried calling my original plumber who installed the heater 6 years ago but he is no longer in business. I'm glad I found a new plumber!

I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant to try Advantage Plumbing as prior to my review, there was only one other review on Yelp! But I had found Danny on another service (H*meAdvis*r -- *=o), and he had a number of 5-star reviews on that platform.

I had an issue with my sewer line and another plumber had come by and was unable to get the line clear -- and told me that I needed to do a sewer lateral (a very expensive replacement of the line from the house to the main sewer line).

Danny went into great lengths to explain everything I ever wanted to know about the sewer and gave me a reasonable quote to clear the line right there and then. He used his machine and a hose and was able to get the line working again in 30 min.

I would recommend him and his company for good value, a quick response and being reliable.
