Best Sump Pump Installation in San Francisco CA

Our water heater stopped working. The heater was roughly 10 yrs old and I was hoping it was a simple parts replacement, but I suspected a total replacement might be required. I know from experience that most standard water heaters have a lifespan of 8 to 15 years.

I messaged BeastBay through yelp outside of normal office hours and got a relatively prompt reply. I believe it was with manager Dalton? Very responsive. Had a consultation appt set for the next morning.

Steve (pretty sure was his name) and another gentleman (didn't get his name) showed up punctually as scheduled and evaluated the heater. I was provided with several quotes: parts replacement, standard replacement, or a tankless water heater replacement.

Since my water heater was getting up there in age, I sprung for a total replacement. I didn't think the parts replacement would be a wise choice. Steve and the other gentleman got to work and had the unit replaced by the early afternoon.

Water heater replacements are always a punch to the wallet, but BeastBay helped smooth things out. Prompt response, punctual appointment, transparent estimates, and quick service.

I hope not to need a plumber's service anytime soon, but if I do, BeastBay will be my first choice.

Mr. Rooter (Oakland) plumbing provided excellent service on two occasions. First, Spencer, the owner of this franchise, responded within hours to my backed up sewer lateral. He informed me that Albany City fixes this for free. He personally knew the City person responsible and he called on my behalf to order the repair. The City workers arrived the next day and fixed the problem for free! On another occasion, our garbage disposal failed. I got Spencer on the phone and he suggested an appropriate brand and model to replace it. I also asked for a new kitchen faucet, and he immediately recommended a faucet that we have loved. The plumber who arrived to replace our garbage disposal and faucet, named Alex, could not have been better. He was punctual, thoughtful, well informed, friendly and fast. He was thoroughly professional, and the work he did was excellent. I will definitely be calling Mr. Rooter of Oakland for my future plumbing needs.

We had Excalibur do a complete repiping job on our home in Alameda.  They filed for the permits and got to work within a few days to do the work.  They showed up on time with a good sized crew and worked though to the evening.  All of the major work was completed in that first phase and it was done professionally and efficiently.  They will return in a few days, after some other work is complete, to do the finishing touches.  Their communication has been excellent and we've been nothing but impressed with their work.

Five stars for sure. Saul and his team are great. He's dependable, upfront with costs and options, and simply does good work. They replace the main sewer line at property for us. These are great plumbers at a fair price and clear communication. I would highly recommend this team. They're very experienced and know what they're doing.

Edgar came out promptly, was even 15 minutes early.

He checked what was wrong with my situation and informed me it was not a plumbing issue. He was curteous, knowledgeble and friendly.

I would definitely call them again if I have another plumbing-related issue and would recommend him and his company to others I know when they have plumbing problems!

Overdue review after a very good experience. The furnace went wacky while still plenty of cooler days earlier this year. Used electric space heaters to buy enough time to really compare different companies. We decided to restore central AC after counting a good number of hot days last year. Sooo the approaches from small local people, bigger firms , Costco , etc were all over the map. What a load of crap some of them had especially the deal Costco is pushing. We bided our time but finally called HC after they saved us from the previous hack job a plumber ( former friend) did on furnace installation eight years earlier. I knew immediately when I heard the common sense suggestions that we had found the right people. The crew was courteous and neat and the workmanship impeccable. The heating and AC are quiet and reliable. AND it appears we got the best value just as icing on the cake and they were easy going about paying the bill.

I have used Heise's Plumbing for many years at my rental house in San Francisco.  They were my go-to local SF plumber.  My last three encounters with them, however,  were bad.  I think this coincides with the previous owner, Dave, leaving and new owners are now in place.

First encounter last year:  The lady renter said two workers came to replace a faucet and were rude and condescending.

Second encounter last year:  The toilet in the bathroom was leaking into the basement below.  Heise's replaced the wax ring which stopped the leaking.  However the toilet was now rocking and they just placed a shim (sticking out from under the toilet), and did nor do any caulking.  I ended up calling a known to me professional plumber who had to drive a long distance to remove the toilet, install a new toilet flange, replace the waste drain piping to the basement, and to cleanly caulk the toilet bottom with the floor.  

Third encounter this month (January 2023).  I had a very bad leak from upstairs into the basement.  Estimator came out and charged me for 1.5 hours ($337.50) and said the pipe behind the bathroom sink was bad, and shut off the water supply lines.  It took three phone calls over a week to finally get an estimate without any details.  The estimate was exorbitant.  I called out my known professional plumber who did have to break through the tile wall and found that the vent pipe had a hole which filled up with water due to a slow sink drain.  He replaced all the piping (vent line, sink drain line all the way to the basement) and my total cost was one-third of Heise's cost.

I have since taken them off my list of my local go-to SF plumber and am looking for a new one.

I used this company twice in the last couple months.  Both times they were prompt, efficient and performed the work at a fair price.

They've done a lot of work for us. Always honest, professional, and easy to work with. After living in our house for 30 years, we upgraded the plumbing in the bathroom and kitchen. The work was beautifully done and they did a great job explaining the process and what they were doing.

Our toilet was clogged so i called this company and they came right away! No longer than 30 minutes they were here. They had a worker named Sergio help with my toilet. It took no longer than 2 hours to do everything! They have very good customer service and really fast. The pricing overall was good. No complications at all 10/10 would recommend. If you ever need help with a plumbing issue this is the company to call! Especially Sergio, really good at his job!

Joel was able to give me an instant estimate, came out first thing the next morning right on time and had the job done within an hour! Will definitely contact again for any plumbing jobs!

This contractor really is as good as it gets. Brian is knowledgeable in construction as well as HVAC, and goes far and beyond to make things work. Damon and Trish do a great job, together, and their estimates are fair and clear. Even when the job takes longer than expected or is more complicated, they do not increase the price. Roberto is creative and has good solutions, too. I'm happy with Berkeley Home Repair and look forward to the next project with them on my home.

The pipes in our bathtub was clogged for two days. It was pumping out water and some dirty black residue. Our landlord called Bay Rooter Plumbing and the plumber, Israel, was so kind and sweet. He was on time with the appointment and answer all my questions. Nice people. Great job.

I was unable to get the water heater restarted after finishing a pump project, so found VanGo on Yelp - what a relief! They made time in their schedule on a busy Monday and promised to help.
Ace showed up after a long day and was committed to get the thing working again. He was courteous and friendly and went right to work figuring out the problem. After fiddling with the pilot and taking things apart, he decided he needed to go and get a part. It took just a few minutes when he got back and was able to put things back together. Then it worked like a charm!
It was great to see a guy think through the possibilities and come up with the most efficient path to a solution. The work was done well and the price was reasonable. Good to get to know you a bit Ace - thanks for your diligence!

I woke up this morning to water surrounding the drains in my garage. I went out to the sidewalk and my sewer drain was spewing up what looked like water, lint, and other debris. I called EPS and they had someone to my house with 15 minutes. 10 minutes and one main line snake later, all was fixed and back to normal. The guys even washed down the sidewalk where all of the lint and other material had been gathering. Price was a bit higher than expected for such a short job ($245) but 1) I like to support local business and 2) time is money and EPS saved me a lot of time and hassle today. Thank you, Paul, Igor, and EPS team!

We've requested their service a couple times. Once to replace a valve and the other for leaks in our bathrooms. Each time they are quick  to respond and gets the job done. Will definitely be using again when we need a plumber. Thank you.

Danny and Paul were great.  Reliable, professional and reasonable.  Had toilet issue on a Saturday.  Got referred to Advantage and they squeezed me in.  Even kept me abreast of arrival time due to other appointments that had unforeseen problems.  They were able to clear the sewer after trying augering.  Highly recommend!

Would most certainly not recommend. Used them twice: First time went fine. Not great, but got the job done at what seemed a fair price. Second time was a complete disaster. Did not get the job done, left the shower unusable (I'm assuming by design so as to require further work by them), and charged at least 150% above market rate. Not populated by the sharpest tools in the shed... but definitely populated by tools. Your milage may vary, but I wouldn't risk it.

Update: Hi Patrick. Thank you for responding. I would have preferred to have a more solution-oriented response when I spoke to you and your plumber on the phone, but I guess you feel a Yelp response is better suited to your needs rather than actually addressing the issue. Also, it seems unusual that as part of a diagnosis you would actually remove parts from a shower so that it no longer works.
