Best Gas Water Heater Repair in San Francisco CA

Beastbay is great. They came out and completed two pretty major jobs for us. About a week into living in our new home we discovered a massive leak. We contacted a few plumbers and decided to go with Beastbay. For this job Mitch came out and was a stellar guy. His work and honesty were refreshing.

Our second issue was rusting galvanized pipes. For this job Robert and I believe Carl (sorry if I'm misremembering your name) came out to change our pipes over to copper and PEX. They were both gems.

A quick con: they are not contractors. The holes that had to be cut in our walls and ceiling were pretty butchered, but they got the job done.

I'm also going to note, their scheduler, Dee, is pretty great. With both jobs she helped make a stressful situation better. Thanks Beastbay.

Our water heater was dying on a weekend. We sent Mr Rooter and a couple of other plumbers messages to come take a look. On the plus side, they sent someone same day on a weekend. On the minus side, he was clearly committed to fleecing us.

The quote started off ok (~$1700 to replace a 50 gallon water heater), but then he used a bunch of used car salesman tactics and such to drive the price up nearly $800. He talked about how they'd need an extra $400 to bring the water heater into our basement (our basement is like 3 steps down from ground level with an exterior entrance), an extra $200 to install a new sediment trap (or something like that), and some other nonsense too. He then called his manager to get us the best price. When we asked for a breakdown of parts vs labor, he said the water heater was $800 or $900 (I forget which), but Lowe's sells the same water heater by the same brand for ~$550.

Anyway, we sent him off.

We ended up going with someone else who didn't pull any nonsense like that and who came in basically the same price as Mr Rooter before they started tacking on ridiculous charges.

We bought our home in 2006 and the previous owners of 30+ years highly recommended them for any plumbing and heating problems with the house.   My water heater gave up 2 years ago and Luis came out and banged out the job.  Recently I had a issue with the pilot light and no hot water, called Tromborg (7pm) and they were here no less than 15 minutes assessed the issue, replaced the faulty part all within 45 minutes.  Family owned business and they treated me like family, these guys are AWESOME!  If you are not using Tromborg for your heating and plumbing then you probably paid too much and got crappy service.  Do yourself a favor and call them NOW if you have any plumbing or heating issues.

Nick responded immediately to our call about our water heater not working. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and neat. Best of all we had hot water by that afternoon. He and his assistant were both very nice and most importantly he was honest in the amount charged for the work.
I highly recommend him for any plumbing repairs and would definitely hire him again.

Last few issues happened on a Sunday and I will always call Joven.  He's courteous and very fair-priced.  In fact, last call was because I didn't realize I pushed the dishwasher button. Hence, water filled the dishwasher and because water was pouring from that area, I thought for sure it was a leak under the faucet. Long story short, Joven came out after his family Sunday meal and immediately saw it wasn't the faucet.  And sure enough there was the water in the dishwasher.  He emptied it a waited until I was assured that there wasn't water coming from somewhere else.  (He knew there wasn't, but was being polite.)  He charged me nothing and left with good vibes and humor.  I like this person. Oh and the last job he did was a huge clog UNDER ground.  He found it and unclogged it and explained the issue. Thank you Joven!

Greg did some fireplace gas line work for me, and I truly can't recommend him enough.

I got quotes from multiple plumbing companies. All of the rest gave me ranges (some 2-3x of what Greg gave) and gave them with the caveat that it'll probably go up once they did the work. Greg committed to a ceiling (instead of a floor) that was supremely competitive and detailed - he mapped out exactly where lines would go. He was super easy to schedule with (we texted, for those who hate phone calls) and showed up on time w 2 helpers to make it go faster. When they were here, I didn't feel the need to supervise or manage and felt very comfortable with them at home. Gives so much piece of mind to have a plumber on speed dial who you like and trust! I have used Five Star plumbing 3 times and they are consistently efficient. Their response time is within hours. The crew is polite and explains what the issue is and how to fix it. The crew truck has everything for the job. I will always call Five Star Plumbing!

Edgar came out promptly, was even 15 minutes early.

He checked what was wrong with my situation and informed me it was not a plumbing issue. He was curteous, knowledgeble and friendly.

I would definitely call them again if I have another plumbing-related issue and would recommend him and his company to others I know when they have plumbing problems!

Across 12 years and multiple homes I've owned -  Louis has consistently provided prompt stellar services and fair prices. He's provided me with guidance to see if the city could alleviate issues, worked w/numerous building inspectors within the city, and other neighboring owners on our private road.
Jobs he's done include but are not limited to: install toilets, outdoor clean outs, replace sewer lines from two homes to main sewer, hydro jet services, camera inspection of lines, etc.
Louis returns calls quickly ( even on weekends) and handles all issues with poise and ease, including my worries over costs.

We recently bought a new home and had to replace the sewer lateral.  After getting three estimates we went with HCP and they were very good.  I would use then again.

I am from out of town and taking care of my parent's property in S.M.  I searched Yelp for guidance and Wizard Plumbing and Drain had the most positive reviews.  Thus, I sent out a Yelp request and they were the first to respond.  We scheduled a same day appointment for the afternoon.  Around 1:00pm Miguel gave me a courtesy call stating that he just finished a job and could come out earlier.  That was a pleasant surprise.  

The house had a serious problem with the main sewer line.  Miguel first checked the entire house for any leaks then headed to the backyard to check the clean out.  It was all backed up and not draining to the main line.  He snaked the line but no luck, the water was not draining.  He also pointed out water was collecting along the cement pad in the backyard.  Miguel said he could get a better look with the camera so he went back to the shop to get one.  He returned within a half hour and attempted to detect the leak.  Based upon the electronic sensor he was able to find the location of the break.  

Miguel gave us several options for repair and also mentioned that the City has a cost sharing program for replacing old sewer lines.  He recommended to check the requirements of the program before committing to the work.  He was very forthright in giving the customer the best solution although he could have pressured me to start the work now.  Since I was only visiting from out of the area, he gave an estimate that would be valid until the end of the month.  Miguel knew I had to make some decisions and did not force me to commit.

Note, the City of S.M. does have a cost sharing program in which they will rebate 50% of the lowest estimate.  But in order to take advantage of this reimbursement you must complete the application first then receive approval.  Had we started the work that day, I would have not been able to participate in this program.

My experience with Miguel was extremely positive.  He was knowledgeable and professional and wanted to do what's best for the customer.  If Miguel represents the typical employee of Wizard Plumbing then it's is no wonder they constantly receive 5 stars.  I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone looking for a plumber.  Keep up the good work guys!

We were trying to get a refrigerator delivered but found out that our valve was broken and needed a plumber to come ASAP.

Alansi was amazing, even helped identify the problem through pictures, so we were able to figure out what was happening--something a lot of plumbers won't do over the phone, and instead will say they can't give you a price/diagnosis unless they're on scene, but there's a $$ charge to go out and inspect it

They were even able to schedule us an appointment within the hour! Just great. If I could score more than 5 I would. Hopefully won't need a plumber again anytime soon, but if I do, definitely calling Alansi's again!

Great experience!  I had a plumbing emergency; they were the only plumbers who could come on a busy day.  They fixed two problems, calmed me down, and were completely professional and knowledgeable.  I'll definitely use them next time, although I seriously hope I never need a plumber again.

We needed a 75 foot sewer line replaced from our house to the main. The estimator came out and gave us a quote which seemed great. I called a couple other companies to get quotes, but never heard back. I spoke to a friend who is a plumber and said it was a solid price, so I pulled the trigger.

We could not have been happier with the crew, work, and company. The crew showed up and were very respectful of our space. They communicated very well and gave us a heads up before they were going to cut the line in case we needed any last minute runs to the restroom. They also did their work in a way that gave the least amount of downtime for the sewer.

Over all, we're thrilled with their work and I'm so happy we don't have to worry about our sewer line for a long time.

If someone gives you a quote for work and you think it is a little (or a lot) high then get a 2nd opinion.

Was having some issues with my bathtub not draining properly.
Got an unnamed company to check it out and they claimed it was going to be a very extensive multi-day job.

Called F&A and they checked it out. Was able to fix the issue at 1/10th of the original quote and it works really well.

They are trustworthy and they do great work! Highly recommend!

First to respond to my Yelp request for estimates and gave me an actual estimate, as opposed to telling me to call or have a free in-person opportunity to get Covid.  Showed up same day, discovered and resolved safety issues in addition to my task.  Very happy, will definitely hire again.

Great and honest gentlemen. I had written a mediocre review for their services and the next morning I had gotten a reply from Wali, the owner. He quickly responded to fix my situation. I am totally impressed by the fantastic customer service. That kind of customer service is rare these days. Kudos to a great company! My go to plumbers for now on.
