Best Sump Pump Installation in Saint Louis MO

Tony LaMartina Plumbing Plumbing Service
I fully trust and highly recommend Tony LaMartina Plumbing to anyone.  I found them here on Yelp when my master bath shower was draining through my kitchen ceiling.  I have a newer home, so i considered this a surprise and catastrophe.  I messaged the business on Yelp and within an hour they called me, set up an appointment for the following day, and left me feeling like there was hope.  The plumber arrived, assessed the work, provided me options including pros/cons and quoted for each.  He also showed me, in writing, the company warranty - 2 year workmanship.  It's standard to have several businesses assess and quote the job, but I felt I could go with Tony LaMartina.  So I did.  That day.

All my interactions (scheduling appointments, questions, etc) have been positive and easy.  Even paying is easy.  The hourly labor rate fully reflects the level of service, professionalism, and quality that you'll receive.

Since, I've had them upgrade my sump pump and will use them again, no hesitation, for any other plumbing needs!

Crafton Plumbing Plumbing Service
Called Crafton out to have a garbage disposal replaced, they arrived promptly and had it installed in no time. They even fixed a faucet valve for a bathtub for $75 that I hadn't fixed because I had been quoted over $1,000 to fix by another company. Nice professional guys that I wouldn't hesitate to call again. I don't usually do reviews but reviews helped me find this company and the reviews were right.

McNeely & Son Heating and Cooling Plumbing Service
McNeely & Son is truly a fantastic service. Last year on a holiday, my A/C stopped blowing cold air. Being an individual with no skills or knowledge in this line of work, I dialed multiple companies freaking out and they said, we don't do work on holidays or our holiday rate is 4x. I then found McNeely and Son. The gentleman who runs the organization picked up immediately, was able to diagnose the issue within 10 minutes of being there, and fixed my AC efficiently. He even took the time to check and make sure there wasn't any residual moisture in my duct work from condensation build up. As far as I'm concerned, they have my business for life. I will be putting in a general maintenance request in the next few weeks to check on my furnace.

Gosh, I wish I had read reviews before hiring them.

So, first things first, the guys they send out as well as their customer service representatives are very polite.

Having said that, this company does not seem to be in the business of maintenance, they are more of a you want to buy a new system type of company.

Their maintenance (and those are big quotes) service is cheaper than going with a certified dealer for your particular furnace/ac.

As a new homeowner I needed to have some maintenance done no my furnace as I have no idea where that thing has been, the guy that came out immediately gasped at the sight of it, turns out, the line of furnace that I have had fame for giving people carbon monoxide poisoning, I ask him about my carbon monoxide detectors and he tells me would not trust my life in a 40 dollars detector.

I start asking questions, he starts finding defects in a 60 year old house where people lived there basically their whole life with no issues. He tells me the ducts are too small, the unit is too big and basically that I need an entire overhaul of the system. He also applies some good old fearmongering when I start questioning him about the furnace and basically leaves me with the impression that the thing is a death trap but I can do with that information what I want.

Without me asking first, he starts building a quote for a new system, this was also done after only a visual inspection of the unit, no service or maintenance was done, when I setup the appointment they told me the service included a filter, he did not even replaced that (I also washed my electronic filter by myself).

So he leaves, I stand in awe. Did I actually bought a death trap?

Fortunately, there is a whole world of information out there. Turns out the furnace that I have was indeed from a line that had an active recall on them IF THEY WERE PURCHASED 5 YEARS BEFORE MINE, so he failed to mention that the death trap was actually an older model. There is also an actual service that can be performed to them, however the

I go and get some Carbon Monoxide detectors, sitting pretty at 0 blasting the heat all the way up to 80.

Final thoughts, the guy that came out, seemed to be willing to help (he even mentioned the carbon monoxide monitors instead of just an alarm), however, he lacked the complete information about the furnace that I have, neglected to replace the filters or really perform any maintenance other than a visual inspection. The feeling that I had is that he was actually been directed to try and push new systems.

Also, if you are going to replace your furnace, shop around, their maintenance plan is cheap, but their furnaces and installation services are actually outrageously high.

DNS Plumbing And Drain Plumbing Service
Fantastic service! I am new to the St. Charles area and I was referred to DNS Plumbing by a friend. I had a hot water heater that was leaking and needed to be replaced immediately. He was able to come over during a holiday weekend, the same day I called him, and installed it that day. I couldn't believe it. I was shocked because everyone else I called wanted me to wait 4-5 days while my water heater leaked out all over my floor.

He did a fantastic job and I know I can count on this company to be here for me whenever I need them but especially when I need them the most. They are knowledgeable, friendly, actually care about you and your family and explain everything to you in a way that is easy to understand. They also gave me the best price on replacing the hot water heater as well. I will use this company for life now.

If you call DNS Plumbing and Drain, it will be the last company you ever have to call because I know you will love them like I do!

I had them come out to fix a leaky shower faucet which they sent someone the next day. However, in two days it started leaking in a different spot. They have rescheduled two different times now since I've asked them to come back out and fix it. I will not be using them in the future.

Beware this business they will lie about repairs. Their also quite rude. They will tell you things need to be fixed that really don't so they can charge more. Get a second opinion before allowing them to do anything.

We had a clogged kitchen drain that actually originated deep in pipes under our basement floor.  They needed to dig up and replace all the pipes under basement floor.  We were able to see when the camera showed us the extensive corrosion of our cast iron lines.  Then when they were dug up we took pictures of the large holes in them.  The technician from Mr. Rooter, Eric, struck us as professional and knowledgeable.  He gave us alternatives of how much work to have done but  believed that all the lines would be equally damaged.  We consulted our insurance agent and received reassurance that this is a solid company.  So given  this conversation and our own look at the damaged pipes, we had the whole job done.  $21,000, give or take.  They did an efficient and very clean job, reattaching washer and dryer and reinstalling a sink, better than it had originally been installed by a handyman. They replaced pipes  leading up to the bathtub that had loosened and started to leak after the vibration from breaking up the floor (no additional charge).  They refilled and recemented the basement floor and removed all excess rock and dirt.  All of the workers involved impressed us by their professionalism.  It was a lot of money but it is an old house so we felt that we had to do the repairs or reveal the issue when we sell the house some day.

This company installed a new hot water heater for me in August 2020 and I should have gotten a clue then. Rather than connecting the hot water heater up as the previous unit was, the hot water recirculating system was capped off. The evening the new unit was installed my wife said it took a very long time for hot water to reach a bathtub at the other side of the house. After looking at the installation and reading up, I realized the shortcut that was taken and told the owner to come back and hookup the recirculation line. He did promptly the next day.
A little over a week ago, I called them back because of a leaking T&P valve and tripping flammable vapor sensor lockout on the water heater. For $99 plus ¼ hour labor (at $160/hour) he looked at the unit, spent time on the phone with the manufacturer to get a replacement vapor sensor (under warranty) and agreed to come out to replace the valve and T&P valve when it came in for I believe $249. After he left, I noticed the tank manufacturer's label with the model number and serial number had been ripped off the tank (see picture)! When I called him back he said he couldn't read the serial number because it was low on the tank so he removed the label and stuck it to the adjacent wall (see picture)! I could have gotten down on the floor and read it, or he could have reached down with his cell phone and taken a picture of it, or gotten the information from his office since it was on my August 2020 invoice. Also, before I called him I read in the manual (that he asked to borrow, along with pen and paper he didn't have) that a check valve needs to be installed (see picture) in the side tap return line (part of the hot water recirculating system here) or the T & P valve could open. Well, there was no check valve installed and the T&P opened and then started leaking. When I asked the owner about it on the phone he said well, that's not required by code (which must mean that's a shortcut he will take despite the manufacturer's instructions) and that's probably not what caused the T&P valve to trip. Maybe he was right about that. It soon began to look like it might have been due to another problem with the installation.
Two men from another plumbing company came out a week later to address the problems. They replaced the T&P valve (the flammable vapor sensor had seemed to resolve itself) but also said the expansion tank was not pressurized to the house water pressure, which was about 55 psi. The tank however was only at 35 psi (see picture) which is apparently near what they are pre-pressurized at from the factory. Additionally, they noticed that the discharge line from the T&P value was too close to the floor (that IS code here: up.codes/viewer/missouri…)
Did I provide my electronic signature when this was installed that the work was completed satisfactorily in a professional, skillful manner...? Yes. Was I wrong? Yes!

Tiger Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning, & Electrical Services Plumbing Service
Please if you are considering using Tiger please have a second quote done. Multiple people I have talked to have said the same thing that they are very overpriced. Here's my story...

My neighbor had a leak in her waterline from the main (in my yard) to her house. By law there is a public easement that I have no grounds to keep them from repairing that line on my property, nor was that my desire. I did however, want to have proof of insurance for the company, notice of where the easement began, and a copy of any permits that were acquired before working on my property. After a few days of work in my neighbors yard they came to the conclusion the leak was under or near the driveway. I'm not sure if this was my neighbor's idea or Tiger's but they wanted to run a new line running the length of my yard and down the back of the yard and they planned to start this work the following morning at 9:00 am! I was not ok with this scheduled work, called Tiger and told them this was not in their legal right and to provide me with the easement, proof of insurance, and permits before any further work was to be started. By running a new line they legally would need to have a new easement that would need to be filed and would add additional liability to me.

Flat out had they done that they would have been breaking the law. Also, at this point they had done work on my property and not given me the documents I requested. I called and spoke with Ryan who said Josh would get those documents to me. I come home from work and still no documents after further work had been done on my property. I talk to my neighbor how I was very unsatisfied with the professionalism of Tiger. She gave me a copy of their insurance and the contract she signed. After looking it over it puts all liability on her and none on Tiger if my property were to have been damaged. I sincerely feel that they took advantage of an older woman. I called Tiger to follow up on the proof of easement and to talk to Josh who had my cell phone number and was supposed to notify me and get me the documents requested.

They don't line item your quote and when you read their terms and conditions they really limit themselves to anything that can go wrong when they screw up. Lastly, they told my neighbor they would clean up when they were done. I understand it's January and they need to let the ground where work was done settle but they left our driveway incredibly muddy. I called to find out when they would be back out to clean that off and they said Tracy (SP?) would give me call. 4 days (2 business days) later I have not heard from them.
