American Backflow Services contacted my mother one week prior to her death while she was in hospice and scheduled services with her.  There is no doubt that she was in agony and under influence of heavy duty pain relieving drugs at that time.  When I contacted them they told me that they often speak with elderly people who are out of it and, as long as they can provide their name and address, they will schedule the service.  They declined to waive the charge that must have been arranged for in error.  Had I been contacted, I would have refused the service as the home was due to be sold.  What kind of operation schedules with people who are clearly incapacitated and feels perfectly comfortable with it as a way of doing business?  Also refuses to own up to a bad business practice and waive the erroneous fee?  Don't trust them.
