Best Water Heater Repair in Oakland CA

Several months ago a plumber ran a snake into my clogged sewer line (from one end only), then jetted it out.  After running a camera into the line (from one end only) he decided not to continue with the snake.  The plumber wasn't really helpful, and after spending $600 to basically shoot some water into the line I felt burned.

So I limped along with a root-clogged sewer until it backed up again a few weeks later.  This time I avoided calling the plumber with the biggest ad, but instead looked on Yelp.  What a good idea!

I saw the great reviews for Atlas Plumbing, so called right away.  They came out the same day, exactly when they said they would.

Unfortunately, my sewer system (a gold-rush era relic!) proved to be a challenge.  When they needed to get to another appointment they were very apologetic, and also asked if they could return after hours with a larger snake.  There was no extra charge for the after hours work, which I appreciated.

They returned with a industrial-sized snake machine (which I hoped that first plumber would have done), and also set about jetting out the system from BOTH ends (also something the first plumber didn't do).

There were more complications - the larger snake machine wouldn't fit through my cellar door, so they could only run it from the street.  Then the snake line got stuck!  A third guy arrived to help extricate it, and there was some talk of having to excavate it (eek!) if they couldn't pull it out.

By now I'm really anxious ... but the story has a happy ending.

After much toil the three guys were able to extract a ton of roots (as well as their snake line).  In spite of the extra equipment, extra hours, and after-hours work, the bill was extremely reasonable - quite a bit less than the first plumber.

They suggested returning periodically in order to keep the system flowing until I can save up enough to replace it entirely.  That is NOT going to be a fun project, but you can be sure I will call Atlas when the time comes.

Oh, they were very nice guys too - very reassuring and courteous.

I needed a new water heater and Kenneth was able to come out the day I called. There was a problem with the electric box and he came back the next day at no charge until my water heater was functioning. Great service, pleasant in a frustrating situation and even gave me a senior discount. He will be my first call when I need a plumber.

My toilet clogged up on Friday. Roto Rooter came out, told me they couldn't augur the toilet because the problem was further down the line. I had roots and scaling in the pipe from my house to the street. They weren't able to do anything today (so toilet still out of order) but they would see if they could fit me in next week. The price? $18,000. You read that right: 18 THOUSAND DOLLARS and they were leaving me with a toilet I still couldn't use.

The good people of Yelp recommended Abraham at Major General. Abraham came this afternoon, augured the toilet and told me I needed a new one. This lined up with what other plumbers have been telling me for years. He told me he could do everything for $1400 total. You read that right: 14 HUNDRED DOLLARS. And I can use my toilet tonight!

I was unable to get the water heater restarted after finishing a pump project, so found VanGo on Yelp - what a relief! They made time in their schedule on a busy Monday and promised to help.
Ace showed up after a long day and was committed to get the thing working again. He was courteous and friendly and went right to work figuring out the problem. After fiddling with the pilot and taking things apart, he decided he needed to go and get a part. It took just a few minutes when he got back and was able to put things back together. Then it worked like a charm!
It was great to see a guy think through the possibilities and come up with the most efficient path to a solution. The work was done well and the price was reasonable. Good to get to know you a bit Ace - thanks for your diligence!

I had a water heater emergency on Sunday afternoon so I called the guys at Everest plumbing. They quickly sent someone out start work and relay information to the other plumber who was buying the new water heater. They worked extremely efficiently and allowed me to continue what I had been doing before the incident happened. I felt very comfortable having them in the house and they did not intrude whatsoever. They did a great job bracing the new heater and installed beautifully brazed copper piping. Even with the unanticipated additional pipework and bracing I was still charged the original estimate price. Everest did an amazing job and got everything operating better than ever!

Ben is an Amazing plumber.  He was very prompt, reasonable and professional.   He cleanout and replaced a cleanout joint in our basement that was backed up, leaking and well past its end-of-life.

I've been wanting to install a tankless water heater for some time now.  I wasn't expecting my water heater to fail on me as soon as it did, but things happen.  I went out and bought a tankless and then started looking for companies to do the install as that's the only way to preserve the warenty.   I had three different companies in mind, but Innovative Radiant Heating was the company I went with more for the fact that they're local and I like to support local businesses.  We talked, got a quote, and they showed up on time to do the work.  They did a great job and were pleasant to talk to.  Everything works great, and we're stoked.  I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for this type of installation.

Gil was reliable and helper fixed the leak at home. He was cost effective and highly reliable.

This is my second time working with Handyman Heroes.  First time they made us some built in shelves and they were awesome to work with.  Efficient and super friendly people that I would gladly work with again, told all my neighbors about them.

For some reason, I did not think they did electrical stuff so I reached out to referral services and nobody wanted to take on the work, but Handyman Heroes stepped up right away and got it done.  This time Stephen came by and was once again awesome, very helpful and super friendly.  He had extra time and helped fix a few other things around the house and even coached me on some stuff.  He fixed our doorbell/intercom system that other companies said could not be done, kitchen lights, and a chair poorly manufactured by Room & Board (yes, I am calling them out because it was not cheap and it turns out 3 of the 4 chairs were not built right).

I am never going to make the mistake of looking anywhere else again.  These people are awesome.

I am the current owner of Allied HERS Testing.  The first time we tested one of Joey's installs he overheard us talking about the current record holder for the Duct Leakage Diagnostic tests we perform.  Under the current 2016 California State Energy Code Title 24 Section 6 a newly installed heating and ductwork project must be tested to verify it is only leaking equal to or less than 5%.  While the majority of the systems we test pass just under the 5% mark Joey's system passed easily that day (Please note that the United States has some of the strictest code guidelines for HVAC system installations worldwide and California has the strictest guidelines within the U.S.).  A couple of months passed and we received another request to test one of his installs. Upon arriving Joey had a big smile on his face and seemed eager to see the results.  His furnace and all new ductwork installation tested at 1.34% leakage!  It is our longest running record!  This goes to show the quality of work and pride Joey has...

We are currently living in a rental home in San Ramon and the previous tenant really did some damage to all the plumbing in this house so we've have to call a plumber at least once a month for the past 5 months because something would leak or flood and it's just annoying.
Anyway, we've worked with Demitri from plumbing care before so he was the first person I thought of because our toilet was running and wouldn't stop for hours. This time they sent Keith.
So far everyone we've dealt with at plumbing care has been knowledgeable and nice, but what made me really happy was Keith has his mask on the WHOLE entire time!!!!! I did not have to remind him to pull it up or put it back on once the whole time he was here. (Like I said, we've have various plumbers, handymen, etc come fix things and I've had to remind them at least once every single time)
That in and of itself deserves the 5 stars because we are still in the middle of a pandemic and my family takes our safety very seriously!!!

Great service.  These guys were fast, upfront about pricing, and incredibly polite making a big effort to avoid leaving any mess.  We had our toilet back up, they snaked the sewer line and inspected it for free.  Seems we finally needed to replace it.  Tons of plant root had invaded the line.  It was a huge job but they came back the next morning digging outside working under the house.  When they finished you couldn't tell they were ever there! Two days of work and we only needed to stop using the water for an hour and a half.  Fantastic!

My heat went out in my house during the coldest part of the year. The temperature in my home averaged between 48 and 52°. I'm almost 80 years old and couldn't stay there.They came for a diagnosis and I paid them.I was told I needed a circuit board but it would take between one and three weeks to arrive I moved out. I called after three weeks and they had not contacted the manufacturer to see the date of arrival.They said they needed to come over and measure and I couldn't figure out what they were measuring for but I waited. I decided to call them back and I would give them the measurements for the part.They still had not contacted the manufacture and they said they  were measuring for a new furnace that even though mine was only five years old. I needed a second opinion it had been over 2 months.I called a company my neighbors used called Clean Air.  
They came over within two days stayed 25 minutes took the front of the furnace off redid some switches and it's been working like i new.
I haven't had a chance but I'm reporting them to the better business because I think this borders on elder abuse. They were supposed to send me my diagnosis check back but of course I haven't Received it. Temperature

Several items in our home were in need of repair, including a kitchen light, doorbell and thermostat. Ted (Mr. Fixit) is a great troubleshooter and easily found the source of the problems, getting them fixed one after the other. There are plenty of times when a specialized technician is overkill, and it's better to find someone who can take care of a broad range of smaller tasks quickly. Ted is a perfect handyman. He was also clear about things that were better handled by a specialist.

Basically, Ted was very professional throughout; he even brought indoor shoes to wear while inside our home (something noted by another reviewer). I appreciated the time he took to explain what he was doing while sharing the pros and cons of different approaches to resolving the problem.

We won't hesitate to call him again and would highly recommend him to others!

Ive used this plumbing company several times over the years, and they always provide excellent service. Their plumbers are knowledgeable and skilled, and they always go above and beyond to make sure the job is done right. I appreciate their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction. I never need a second opinion or quote because they have ALWAYS been honest and fair in respect to the work they do. Something that is extremely rare in the industry today. I'll continue to use them for both my home and my business plumbing needs.

We had a leak in our garbage disposal. Mario came to the rescue! He was super helpful in explaining the problem and answering all our questions. He was able to investigate the problem and replace the disposal for us quickly. Thank you Mario!

We have a very old house in Berkeley, so plumbing system is not the current model.  I had used Albert Nahman plumbing & heating many years ago. Lucky for me that I still remember them.
