Best Demolition Services in Oakland CA

I had spent a good part of a Sunday trying to clear a clogged kitchen sink drain, to no avail.  Looking online, I liked the reviews I saw for JJ Rooter & Plumbing and called them Sunday night.  They set up an appointment for Monday morning and showed up on time.  They spent hours trying to clear a 64 year old galvanized pipe line with a snake.  After hours of work, they did manage to clear the line, but clearing the line put holes in the pipe that was being held together by rust and corrosion.  They left to buy supplies and returned in the afternoon to replace about 25 feet of pipe and adding two new cleanouts in the process.  They were polite, worked hard, and solved a bad problem in one day.  What more could you ask?

OUTRAGEOUS!

We used them a couple years back to install a new water heater without issues. Over Labor Day weekend, it failed, water was leaking everywhere.  Called them up and the dispatcher said they would call back ASAP to schedule service. No one called back. Come Tuesday morning, shortly after 8am I called again and they said someone would be on site between 10am and noon. When they showed up, it wasn't very smooth. They had no record to their past work and were asking for a past receipt. I guess their big fat sticker on the unit and the proof of warranty from the manufacturer's website was not good enough, but after phone calls to the main office it finally got it sorted out.  Turns out they had to track down the guy who installled it 2 years back to do the job, for some reason. By 3:30pm (after almost 3 hours of work), the water heater was replaced and they charged me $435 for labor, even after complaining about the cost. I believe this qualifies as a ripofff.

Juan Carlos of GAXL Construction responded to a request for quote. He was quick to respond, professional and eager to help me with a backyard patio need. He was never pushy but proactively sent me photos of his work and stayed in touch with me. Unfortunately, I went with another contractor but I want to share what a positive experience I had with GAXL Construction. Based on his professionalism in my prospecting, you should give them an opportunity.

We had a great experience with Damon, Carlos, and the whole team at Berkeley Home Repair. We wanted to reclaim a small corner of a kitchen where an old water heater, long since removed, once stood. Carlos & his team removed a small partial wall, patched up the drywall, removed some old exposed piping, and reflooring the area, all in about four hours. The work was completed to our pre-agreed specifications and at a fair rate.

Communication from Damon before & after the job was prompt & clear, and Carlos & his team were friendly & helpful throughout the work day. We appreciated that they covered the floors & furniture in adjacent rooms (not just the kitchen) with plastic sheeting before work began, ensuring barely any dust was left behind after the work was complete.

I rarely leave Yelp reviews, but had to submit one for Damon & his team at Berkeley Home Repair. We'll definitely be using them for future home repairs and I recommend them without reservation.
