Best Sump Pump Installation in Madison WI
This company is AWESOME. We had a blocked sewer drain, so I called a couple other places and had to leave messages. I called Mark's, got voicemail and decided to NOT leave one more message. I got a call back ANYWAY! She listened to my explanation Mark out in less than an hour.
Mark did a great job. He wore his mask the entire time, he told me what he was doing and why, and then went on to explain what I could do to keep all drains in the house running smoothly.
And then I got the bill. Don't tell them, but it was about HALF of what I expected it to be! Great company, amazing price, if I need this sort of work done again, I know who I'm calling.

Called this morning after I noticed my outside spigot was leaking and frozen. Stan was very friendly and sent a team within 30 minutes. The two guys who arrived were great and finished the repair quickly. The talked to me in advance of doing any work and even provided cost estimates. Discussed options were and helped me decide the best course. The cost was reasonable and I will definitely call again if I need plumbing work.

I had technicians from other companies repairing my very old furnace (built in 1992!) over the past 2 winters. I never knew exactly what was wrong. Until this time, Cardinal arrived to look at my furnace, which was once again, not blowing warm air. The Cardinal technician not only told me what was going wrong with the furnace, he showed me and explained it very clearly. I needed a new furnace, and the Cardinal technicians who installed the new furnace were prompt and showed me everything I needed to know with the new unit. The office staff with whom I spoke on the phone were also very pleasant and helpful.

My Parents, who are in their late 70s, water softener system had failed, and stopped working on 11/14/2022. I had gone down to check out the system. I heard a leaking hiss, and found a pinhole leak, from one of the main water lines so I turned the water supply off and did a temporary patch to the leak. I had worked on the system before, but it was at it's end of life, and needed to be replaced. I called Plumbing Place, it was already late afternoon, and the receptionist said she would call their master plumber, and would give him the details, and to expect arrival time between 7-7:30 the next morning. The Tech was prompt, and was friendly. He checked over the system, and told me all that needed to be done, and gave me an estimate. I had agreed, and he went to get the the necessary parts, and returned. He removed the old system, and installed the new one. He also did some pipe replacement, and repairs. He was very skilled and efficient, and the new water softener system looked great! The job was completed in just a few hours, I was very pleased with the work he had done, I would contact this company again with any future repairs! I would highly recommend Plumbing Place, as a very reliable company to do business with!

I've used these guys a few times and have never had a negative issue with them. I had a major freeze up this winter in an old pumphouse and even though busy, they got out here that day. Was a major job and the price was totally reasonable for the amount of work it took, thankfully.

EXCELLENT SERVICE!
Jeff from Judd Pumps & Plumbing showed up within 2 hours of our call. We had no water and we really needed someone to come! The receptionist who answered my call understood that we needed help and she assured me someone would come the same day. Jeff was super friendly and efficient and he fixed the problem quickly. He went above and beyond by taking a quick look at our a/c which wasn't working on a hot day. He determined that one of the two a/c units wasn't working which was helpful.
CONFESSION:
*I didn't even know we had a well until the water stopped working (I know that's kind of pathetic).
*I didn't know where our outside a/c units were located.
*I couldn't answer any of the basic questions one might ask about our water system.
I appreciate that Jeff wasn't phased by my lack of knowledge, nor was he condescending in any way. He was cheerful and polite, and he clearly wanted to help us solve the problem. Having worked with many service companies over the years, particularly during the last 12 months as we renovated, Judd Pumps & Plumbing stands out as exceptionally reliable.

Honestly, I can't write enough good things about S&S! We had our whole water main from the house to the lateral break. It was lead, leaking badly, and had to be replaced quickly. Lygia in the office was awesome to talk to and helped us get going right away. Rick came out and gave us an estimate in under a day. We received an incentive from the city with the pipe being lead and S&S worked directly with them and handled everything from start to finish. On time, honest, super fair pricing, great work, and all around nice people. If I could give 10 stars I would!!!

They did a wonderful job. I needed my faucet's supply lines replaced. The tech came to my house on Saturday morning and took care of the job very quickly. He was friendly and professional. The cost was exactly what you would expect to pay for a repair like this. I am highly satisfied with the work that was done and especially how fast they were able to fix it for me. If I could give them a higher rating I would.

I would not recommend this service provider. They serviced my home with a relatively new and efficient furnance/humdifier/air conditioner for years on maintenance contracts and on service calls. When I went to sell the home, the home inspection service for the buyer found a long list of deficiencies and violations such as ties on safety doors, missing shut-off switches, and leaks getting into the furnace from the humidifier. The reason they are not a 1-star is that they did provide service and come when called.

We needed a gas line put in the house we just moved into to use our dryer. Robert's made it a priority to get us on the schedule quickly (the laundry was starting to pile up!), and did an excellent job. They even came back out the next day when we smelt natural gas - turns out I caused the leak when I hooked up the dryer, but Robert's came out and fixed it for free. We're new to town - Robert's will be our go-to plumbing/heating company from now on.

Experience varies with this company depending on who shows up. One time was great, the plumber worked fast and efficiently. Another time, the boss had to come out because the worker couldn't find the gas leak. the 3rd time was my last try with them. They overcharged me by almost 2 hours. When I called to complain, the owner said he had to charge for the trip to my house and back (I'm in Madison and they're in Madison!). Their shop is definitely not an hour away from my house so they must have stopped for lunch or something! If you use them better get a firm price quote lest you want to get surprised when the bill comes.

Incredibly difficult to schedule anything... they can't even confirm if we can set an appointment for tomorrow.
Madison, WI
I made an appointment to have a trailer winterized for an older couple that lives in Illinois and was told that someone would be there between 8 and 8:15. I got here at 7:45 and sat and waited until almost 9am and I finally called them. He did apologize and said the guys did another job before mine in another town and were on there way. I was told they should be there within a half hour. It is now 9:50am and there is still no one here. Not impressed at all and just for the record I know it's not the plumbers fault, it is the man that scheduled the appointment to begin with. If I wanted the appointment later I wouldnt have scheduled it for 8am. Business's need to remember that people make appointments for a reason. Most people do not have the time to sit around and wait. They have other obligations to attend to. Absolutley uncalled for. I have now called and cancelled the appointment and will be calling another company. Thanks for wasting my time.

We hired Eckmayer to install an equine waterer and frost free hydrant. We sent them the specs and installation information for the waterer and met with them in person twice to discuss.
We negotiated what we thought was a great deal, we had a separate company come in and trench, and they were doing installation only so it was going to be time & materials.
The overall quality of the work is good, however, they installed the waterer incorrectly. They did not follow the directions provided to ensure the waterer was protected and would not freeze. They were sent the installation instructions and a video prior to ever bidding the job. So, we called them to tell them their mistakes after talking with the manufacturer. The installation instructions were very clear, this was completely an error on Eckymayer's installer.
Admittedly we could have been read through the installation directions so that while we were there we could have been questioning how and why they were doing things. But, we didn't. We trusted that they did the research and knew what needed to be done. We gave them all of the information they needed to do so.
I don't know what made me go back to the installation instructions and verify the install the next day, but for some reason I did. Once we realized the errors, we called to ask them to fix the error. We were told it would be at least 1.5 weeks - keep in mind we have a 6' deep, 4' wide open trench spanning 235' of our property, and we are heading into winter so those lines will freeze if they aren't covered - not to mention the hazard of an open trench that large. This can't be left open for 1 - 2 weeks.
We are going to have to fix it ourselves. So we asked for them to discount the price since we are going to have to re-do the installation. Their response was that they gave us a huge discount already and that they added things we never discussed. This is not true. I was told it would cost approximately $600 and if they encountered any issues it would up to $800. They charged us the full $800 and there were zero issues - they even told us it went much faster than anticipated. They also said they discounted the curb stop from $500 to $300 already. However, he told me from the start he would only charge us $300 for the curb stop, we didn't ask him to discount it. Then they tried to come back and say we never requested a curb stop, until the day of installation - but our original quote from them a month prior included a curb stop. They were the ones that recommended it.
Lastly, we were told we would be given a curb stop key. The installer graciously offered to get us one and said they were easy to make. We don't have one and when my husband goes to replace the install we are going to have to shut the water off in the entire house and drain all the lines since we can't turn the water off at the curb stop. When we asked the manager about this he said essentially it wasn't his problem and if that was a side deal with the installer, that's on us.
I will say the installer did quality work and we liked him overall - we liked him so much we bought him lunch and gave him a $50 gift card to say thank you. However, because they installed it wrong my husband has to go hand dig out the pea gravel and disconnect it himself and put it back together. It definitely wasn't worth the $800 we paid since we have to re-do half of it. Their customer service with this mis-installation has been awful. We were using them for other services prior to this incident and won't be using them again.

Total scam. Like others, I found this ad in my parish's newsletter and assumed that this outfit had been vetted out and were reputable. I was looking for someone to rough in a basement bathroom.
Jeff, who evidently only does the initial picture taking, came over and requested the $85 bucks upfront. Ok, sure. From there he comes in to my basement takes some photos while his phone rings off the hook and says I will have a quote in a few days.
The weekend passed and sure enough I get a call from John? On Monday asking me if I had a pencil to write down my info. If I'm paying for a quote I'm expecting a formal proposal so this was my first sign. He proceeded to go through all the work he was going to do as then hit me with a $7k quote. $7000!?!? The other 2 quote I've received have been less that $4k
Needless to say, I told him this was way high and he said ok thanks, bye completely unphased.
I am waiting on my formal quote, but in hindsight would not have invited these people into my home and will be checking my basement to see if anything is missing. Additionally, I intend to advise my parish to remove this ad and encourage anyone reading this ad to do the same. Stay away from these people. Total scam.
