I say this is Great !!

Our downstairs bathroom started to get mold on the ceiling.  To make a long story short, the upstairs bathroom shower pan was leaking.

After the mold remediation team had finished and seemed to narrow down the problem to either a drain issue or shower pan issue for the upstairs bathroom, my wife and I contacted approximately 10 general contractors and shower installation companies using various sources (including Yelp, Google Reviews, word of mouth recommendations, internet searches, etc) to provide their recommendations/proposals for our shower and bathroom.

During the processing of obtaining contractor quotes, we were not comfortable with most of the contractors for various reasons including high sales pitch tactics, lack of detailed explanation relating to waterproofing techniques that will be used during construction, extremely high prices, etc.  We eventually narrowed down the list of contractors to two (including Ixtapa).  However, after further comparison of both companies, we ended up choosing Ixtapa partially due to their quote being more inclusive of everything we wanted done (drywall repair, painting, among other items), their flexibility in recommendations that considered our budget, and most importantly, Ixtapa's clear explanation of their waterproofing techniques in which the utmost care would be taken during their multilayered waterproofing method to minimize any chances of the new tile shower leaking in the future.  Other companies were vague in mentioning only hot mopping as an explanation.  We just felt Ixtapa was the complete package when considering fair price, knowledge, customer reviews showing high quality craftsmanship, communication, etc.  Alex was a very good communicator and listener when we shared our concerns/ideas.  Alex was excellent at balancing our concerns/ideas with his expert advice/recommendations (this skill set Ixtapa apart from the rest of the other construction companies we talked to).

Jay, Alex's business partner, is the construction guru.  Jay is very personable and has high expectations of quality that meet not only his high expectations, but also the customer's.  Although Ixtapa has some workers in addition to Jay, Jay does the detailed design, measurements, and most of the detailed construction.

I liked how Alex made clear what materials Ixtapa provides (rough materials, etc) and explains in detail what materials the customer provides (tile, fixtures, etc).  Alex even provided us a shopping list of items to purchase, quantities of each item, etc.  This made it easier for us.  When it came to choosing a new vanity, Alex recommended a few places for us to look at vanity options.  We settled on a place and we were able to purchase the vanity with Ixtapa's contractor's discount to save some money.  When I was stressed about some issues with vanity options while my wife was out of town on business, Alex took time out of his busy schedule to meet me at the store to help me through my struggles.  With the assistance of my wife by phone, and Alex's help, we were able to make a decision that worked out very well (thank you Alex!).

Ixtapa showed flexibility when we requested changes to the scope of work related to the niche, additional recessed lights, installing the additional exhaust fans in our other bathrooms, among some other changes.  Ixtapa was able to provide a custom glass shower per our requested specifications of partially obscured (middle 50% obscured, the top 25% and bottom 25% clear glass).

Jay and his crew did excellent work.  As other reviewers have stated, Jay is a master craftsman.  Jay and his Ixtapa crew handled everything from the demo, plumbing (installation of new shower drain with weep holes, etc), electrical (exhaust fan, led lights, gfci, etc), shower framing, multilayered waterproofing of shower, tile installation/grouting (shower, bathroom floor), installation of vanity & recessed medicine cabinet/mirror, installation of fixtures, drywall/trim/texture/paint, etc.  The only items/services subcontracted out by Ixtapa to different companies were the hot mopping of shower pan and the manufacturing/installation of the custom glass shower door.

A couple of small/minor issues after completion of the bathroom project were taken care of by Ixtapa.  The end result is fabulous!

We very much look forward to working with Ixtapa in the future with another project or potentially more than one project.

We were dealing with drainage issues in our restroom, we were referred to Ez flow plumbing by our next door neighbor, Andrew was very helpful and was able to diagnose our problem pretty quickly, our problem was bigger than we had expected, however Andrew was able to take care of our problem immediately with his team! We are very pleased with his work and how clean they kept everything. We will definitely call them back for any of our plumbing needs!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Leo. I've already gave him a great review for some work he did on my house and on a rental property from roofing work, new fencing,  plumbing and everything in between. I am now giving him another fantastic review for the work he did on another rental property that needed a complete renovation. Basically the house needed to be complely upgraded. He was able to do it all. From replacing all the faucets, re- grouting the bathtub, shower and sinks, re-coating the bathtub and fixing all the broken drawers. He repaired all the interior and exterior cracks. He added a new front door, he replaced all the blinds, he fixed the kitchen bay window. He replaced the difficult light switches for one light go on and off from both switches. He fixed the heater. He did the cement work from the front stone area before the entry stairs that had a gap between that area and front yard. Plus the plumbing that went from the sump pump out to the front yard. He was able to do all these odd repairs with no problem. He explained everything that needed to be done. He provided pictures of the problems. He purchased all the item that were needed to do the job and provided the receipts. He went out of his way to get the job done and in a timely manner. He truly wanted to help anyway he could. Plus he was so pleasant to work with. To top if off his prices were reasonable. I can go on and on but it boils down to that I highly recommend Leo for anything you need done on your property. Chris was prompt to arrive and was short and to the point of what needed to be fixed underneath my kitchen sink. Prior to calling Purdy, I had attempted to unclog my kitchen sink by removing the P-trap and trap extender, only to find that there was an additional extender going to the stub out to the wall. The extender was so brittle that when I re-connected the trap extender pipe it crumbled to pieces. The extender was so corroded that it fused with the iron piping at the stub out. I was unable to back out the lock nut and pull out the extender. Chris was able to get it out, but in the process, accidentally cracked a part of the iron pipe at the stub out. He removed the cracked portion and installed a no-compression extender that made the stub out plastic, as coming out of the wall, and installed a brand new P-trap system. He was so honest that he let me know up front of what happened and that he would fix it on-the-spot without any additional costs. The work was done in about an hour and he offered me a 1 year warranty on the work. Additionally, he quoted me for additional work to re-plumb (remove) an older figure 4 drain assembly and replace it with a more modernized system. The price estimate seemed reasonable. I was satisfied with this experience.

This was my first experience with a plumber other than the big ones (Roto Rooter, Mike Diamond, etc), and I can honestly tell you all that going with the smaller guys has its benefits -honest work and potential cost savings. I would recommend Purdy to folks nearby Fullerton, Placentia, Anaheim and Yorba Linda areas.

Our house in Long Beach has original pipes from the 1940s. We've had some issues but ended up recently getting a pretty severe clog in the pipes. We had another service come out that tried to snake it unsuccessfully and then quoted us $1000 to replace the pipe. On a whim we called Beach Plumbing. Rene came out that day. He was friendly, honest, and quickly fixed the issue for a fraction of the previously quoted amount. We even had him quote us for an up coming project, as we'd be happy to use their services again!

I had a plumbing issue and I contacted Ricardo, I was provided a quote along with a separate quote to rebuild the damaged area. Communication was prompt and I was updated as the repairs and rebuild was getting done. Compared to other quotes, the prices to do all the work were reasonable and service was great. I would definitely contact them again if I need additional work.

What a relief to have a no-hassle handy man that i can count on for my rental. My tenant called me at 6pm for a sink issue (nothing major, but nothing I wanted to delay too long). After messaging a bunch of plumbers in the area and getting the same we can't provide an estimate without seeing the issue in person (even though it was a simple issue), Victor was awesome. He was fast to reply, very straightforward, and let me know what to expect for the repairs time and cost, as well as being available the next morning. I was hesitant to give Minde the job due to the very few reviews he had. I am glad I took a chance. As it turns out, Minde is a real gem! He showed up the same day I contacted him at the time he said he would and completed the job with such an enthusiasm, speed, precision and perfectionism that I was truly amazed. I had quite a few pictures, a heavy mirror and curtain rod brackets that needed to be hung. He was creative in finding solutions to some problems we encountered and was very precise with the measuring. It looks just perfect! To add to this, his pricing was very fair and way below other estimates I received. Aside of all this, he is just a really nice person! Fredd was awesome! He came out and fixed a slab leak that was causing major issues in an emergency situation. He was the only plumber we called that was able to come out right away and he took care of it quickly. He showed me the problem and told me how he was going to fix it and did the job. Seeing him work I can tell that it's a lot of hard work and it requires a lot of expertise and Fredd displayed both at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Fredd's Handyman Services.
