Called Advanced Plumbing Service today about a bathroom sink leak. Very professional receptionist, Tina. As the house is a rental, we did not know the cause, just that it is leaking (drip drip) into the cabinet. They charge a $49 call out, which is fine.

When we got the call back from the plumber, Tony, we were told that the issue was a grout issue and not a plumbing issue, that needed some silicone repair and removing the faucet to re-silicone it, as it was too close to the back of the sink area. We were also given an option of replacing the whole counter, sink, and faucet, which we did not explore.

We asked for photos, which we promptly received. Six or seven of them!

On the photos of the sink, we could see that the faucet was up against the back of the sink, as there were calcium/lime lines along the front of the faucet, with a gap to where the faucet now sits.

The plumber told us he would have to go to Home Depot because he doesn't carry silicone. WHAT???!!! $$$$$ We we're told the job would be $315 or, at our question, a little less if he just siliconed around the faucet and where the grout might be causing the leak, but he did not recommend doing that.

We declined his services and paid the call out bill of $49. Make your own conclusions. We did.

We will add that the plumber was on site within 6 hours and was able to get the job done, if so instructed, today.

I shopped around for quotes to replace my water heater and repair a drain pipe which started leaking. I received about 5 quotes. Most of the plumbing companies quoted a price without even coming in to take a look at the work or seeing the pictures. Their quotes were sloppy, it was hard to tell what was included and was not included in the price. Tony on other hand asked for pictures and even then came in to see water heater and the pipe in order to provide me with an accurate estimate. His proposal was the lowest, moreover he was ready to install it same day so I accepted it. In addition to the price the quality of work he did was great as well.

After a response and discussions with Will, we decided to give him another go at one of our properties. We have seen an improvement in responsiveness and more reasonable pricing ($120 for replacing batteries in 4 smoke detectors and 2 CO2 monitors plus our air filters. This included purchasing the air filters and a pack of 9V batteries). Kevin also came out to install a wall mounted TV and we were very satisfied with the service and timeliness.

I hope that the previous poor experiences are a thing of the past, but will absolutely keep you all updated as we move forward.

As a renter, we never know what company is going to be sent out to repair what is broken. In the past 5 years, we have seen different companies come in and out to try and take care of the problems being addressed. Donny showed up from The Honest Plumber under the impression there was only one issue to be resolved when there were actually 3. Not only was he able to make time to fix all 3 problems, he did it in a timely manner, had all the parts he needed in his van, and it was exceptionally impressive that he cleaned up after himself. He was very respectful and professional. I highly recommend this company.

John the Plumber has taken care of our plumbing needs for years. He always has great prices. He recently installed some risers for us so we no longer need to dig out the septic tank. Couldn't be happier with the job.

Our kitchen flooded in the middle of the night on Saturday.  Richard H. arrived when he said he would and immediately started assessing the damage.  He walked us through the whole process from setting up the drying equipment to calling our insurance.  Great service and friendly.  The plumber came at the time promised within hours and fixed the leak.  Would recommend!

After getting a ridiculously high quote from another company in town, I went to my Facebook community and asked for recommendations.  I received several recommendations for Payless.  They came out and estimated the job at 2-3 hours.  Came back the next day and did the work, and it was exactly as estimated.  No hidden costs, no surprises.  Just exactly what was quoted.  The plumber that came out was Chris Jackson.  Very professional and courteous.  I would highly recommend Payless for you plumbing needs.

The best plumbing service in town period. Fair price. Been working with Lugas the owner numerous times. He will tell you right away what's wrong and how much it's going to cost to fix the problem. Easy to talk with unlike some other tricky contractor service I have used in the past.

Mauricio was a great handyman and I would recommend him to anyone! He was able to come out the next day to fix a leaky shower, unclog a sink drain, and repair some drywall. He was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He gave us the most reasonable estimate of anyone we called, and we will be using him again in the future for installation of a dishwasher as well as some electrical work in the garage.

My sister needed her cesspool replaced.  We were gifting the job to her family and I had reached out to Facebook for recommendations for such a job. I live in Las Vegas but I am from Bakersfield and have several friends as I grew up there.  I asked her to get two to three proposals.  I'm a real estate investor and manager and I know how the bidding process should work.  My husband was a County Project Engineer for many years so he too is very familiar with the bidding process.

The problem with Kangarooter is getting a proposal.  My sister reached out to them no less than a half a dozen times to get a proposal.  They gave multiple excuses as to why they didn't send or prepare a proposal.  The excuses stemmed from Oh, I thought Rene already took care of this.  Oh we gave him the wrong address.  With each excuse it was followed up with We will get you a proposal by X date.  That time would come and pass and nothing.  In the meantime Superior came out the same day called and gave a proposal.  My sister had done business previously with Kangarooter and I know she would of liked to give them the business however, me being in the real estate business for 28 years, if a company can't even provide you with something so simple as a proposal then you don't want to deal with them once they have been paid.  First impressions are everything.  Once I signed the contract and did the deposit over the phone they were out there that very day doing soil testing.  Plans were submitted to the County and work was scheduled and completed in rapid succession.  

You would think a company would want a contract, a sizeable one at that.  Especially during an pandemic when other companies are suffering for work, employee's are worried about their jobs.  Apparently that is not the case with this company.  I would be so embarrassed as the company owner to know at $7,000 to $8,000 job just walked out their door because they couldn't be bothered with doing something so simple as a proposal.  They could at the very least tell potential clients that their schedule is full and they are not able to accept new clients at this time.  Don't waste a homeowners time, it's just wrong.

We had our water heater crack and flood my garage and Sabir from extreme plumbing was able to make it out there the same day to replace it. He was able to explain why that happened very clearly and made the replacement process very easy! Definitely recommend.

AC went out, first guy came took out my delay, disconnected the kickstart from its own capacitor, never questioned why kickstart has it's own capacitor, just went ahead did it anyway, got it running for a week, down again, new tech came, says it's the kickstart, Replaced a $40 part for $260, which only took 15 minutes to replace, horrible.. this was a mistake on my part, a week later, AC down again.  Another tech came, ohhh it's a bad capacitor!!! We'll why didn't they figure that out in the first place. I think all these guys do is replace parts, I don't think they do any real solid technical diagnosis of the system, I fear that I will see them again next week.  They're good at replacing parts which I can do but I'm looking for real professionals who can do solid AC work, find causes and understanding different types of systems. Gundlach techs are nothing but cookie cutter parts replacer company.
