SG Services Plumbing Service
I was in a crunch because my scheduled electrician lowered my job in their priority.  Called SG on Wednesday and they were at my house on Thursday.  Furthermore, it did cost me more, but SG would not do the job unless my electrical box was safer so I said make it safer   They put a new electrical panel box as well.

AAA Service Plumbing, Heating & Electric Plumbing Service
My scheduled appt time was 2-4, I took the afternoon off work to accommodate this as I was anxious to get my repairs completed. Around 245 someone called to say the technician would be running late, closer to 4pm. At 420 I was called again saying the technician would not be able to make it today. Furious. No other technician was available and I wasted an afternoon not getting paid waiting on nobody. I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing - they are coming later tonight. They seem to have a reputation for being on time...something I can't say about AAA who has been most disappointing.

Plumbline Services Plumbing Service
Plumbline HVAC service was a scam.  My wife called when our AC went out during the hottest day this week and I was away on travel. They mentioned it would be $49 for a service call. In reality it is $49 to show up, $149 for a diagnosis, and would have been $586 to replace a simple capacitor. Luckily my wife is smarter than that. When I returned, I bought the part next day on Amazon for $16 and replaced the capacitor within 10min.  Don't let these folks prey on you or your elderly relatives.  Honest work should cost honest prices; not whatever they can get you to pay when you are in a vulnerable position.  I'm genuinely disappointed in the morality of this company.

Fixer - Denver Plumbing Service
45 minutes before the scheduled service they cancelled and rebooked me for the following day. The next day, 30 minutes before the scheduled service they told me the estimated time moved out 2 hours and they would keep me informed. I have to travel to the house where the work was to be done and have other things on my schedule. They wasted my time and I gave up on them. Great model, poor execution.

Hmm...can't find my original report I filed on these guys, which details what went down regarding a $600+ charge to fix a leaky toilet. I called 'em out big time (I used to work with Fluidmaster and know the plumbing industry). In any case, they manned up, called my sis-in-law who was gouged, and low 'n behold, Plumb Line Services issued a complete refund. Thanks guys. I'm impressed. I'll be more impressed if I don't see any more complaints about price gouging here or on RipOffReport.com, where I've deleted my negatory review. I'll leave it with this: the business model you cite, where you call out expenses, overhead, labor, blah, blah... Guess what? That's the price of doing business. Charge a fair, equitable rate, perform your tasks professionally and completely, and don't gouge uneducated, uninformed customers.

I called fix it out to tune-up my furnace.  I had heard a radio ad for tune up special.  I had noticed that the furnace didn't seem to be running the way it was supposed to. I had had a previous maintenance about a year and a half ago from a company who said they had tuned up and clean my furnace. It became obvious this other company hadn't really done anything to clean my furnace.
I was really impressed with the amount of cleaning they did. The service guy I had David (old school, good sense of humor, knew a lot, obviously been doing this for a while.)  took me through the entire furnace step-by-step he completely pulled out the fan motor, and showed me a lot of dirt built up inside.  He used a small brush and cleaned every blade on the fan motor.  I had twice as much air coming out of vents when he was done.  When I asked him if he thought I needed a new furnace, he said that he thought this one looked Ok for now.  He didn't try to sell me a new furnace, which I've had other companies try to do, he just suggested things to keep this one going.  He said might need a new motor in the future, but advised a wait, and see approach.  I signed up for their maintenance plan, I'm going to have these guys do all my work now.
