My name is Lloyd and I'm from Fuquay-Varina, NC. I've been living in the research triangle for 44 years. I really love the area. I raised three children in this area, Nik, Jacob and Hannah. I've worked in the apartment industry for 15 years doing plumbing, heating and air and electrical work. I've been doing pressure washing for five years as well. I really love what I do.

Same day service to get my leaking garbage disposal checked out. Came in to investigate and found the motor had burnt out. He had one in his van and replaced it on the spot! Lloyd is super friendly and easy to work with. Very happy with the outcome and will use him again in the future!

I was looking for someone to install a gas line to our kitchen and I saw Yelp had a request a quote option. I've never used it before so I thought I would try it out. I messaged Maintenance Men on Call and another company. Both responded ASAP; however, the other company said they could only do quotes over the phone. No big deal, but they never called when they said they would. Lloyd, on the other hand, was quick to work around my schedule and showed up at my house on time (maybe even early). He gave me a very reasonable quote and we set up a time for it to be completed. When we smelled gas a few weeks later, Lloyd called me back immediately after I sent him a message and said he wanted to come check it out as soon as possible. I highly recommend his company and I have his number stored in my phone for future work!

Tuesday evening I found myself in need of a new hot water heater and being a relatively new home owner, I had no idea where to start, so I turned to Yelp. I was very surprised to have such a quick response from Lloyd, the owner as it was well outside normal business hours. I think our last correspondence through Yelp was well into the nine o'clock hour. We spoke on the phone first thing Wednesday morning. He was very easy to talk to and patient in answering my questions. I never felt pressured by him. I found his quote to be fair and reasonable. His price was MUCH better than the quote I received from Lowes!
I was glad to hear that he was able to schedule the installation of the new unit quickly. He said that he would arrive between 8:00-9:00 this morning and expect the work to be about 2 hours. He was very efficient and personable.
I will certainly keep Lloyd in mind for any future jobs! Thank you!

Lloyd rocks! I recently moved in to a rental house. Shortly after moving in my toilets, tub and shower flooded with dirty water which ran onto the partially carpeted floor in the master bathroom.......GROSS! I called the emergency maintenance line and Lloyd was at my place within an hour. After trying to find the problem in the house he went outside (on a very windy and chilly evening) and dug up a pipe in my yard. That poor guy was in the mud, in the dark and using the headlights of his van to dig. He found the problem ( a previously busted pipe that someone else at some point did a horrible repair job). After being at my house for almost 5 hours he told me he would wait for AAA to come jump his van since the battery died from using the headlights for so long. I offered to have him wait in the house or get some water but he insisted on waiting in his van.
The next morning he called ME to make sure I was ok. How nice is that!? He also put the call in to the carpet guy to come clean up the water soaked area. Lloyd was able to come back just a couple of days later to replace the pipe and fill in the hole in the yard.

Expensive. Not upfront.

Llyod came out in about 30 minutes and fixed but did not provide a quote when asked for. He charged me 240$ for a valve replacement that costed 20$. He was also rude because I tried to fix the valve myself. All I did was unscrew the faucet handle to see if something was threaded wrong.

Rip off specialist, to fix 2 toilets they wanted to charge me $225.00 for one bathroom the other bathroom, was an additional $250.00. $475.00 their quote. It took my husband and brother-in-law 20 minutes to fix both jobs and a trip to Lowe's at a cost of $35.00. Do not use these people.

Lloyd is the man! Genuine, honest, hardworking, professional, friendly! Every step of the way Lloyd was on top of it. From the response to my initial message to getting us a quote to being flexible with our schedules to the plumbing work. We recently had new countertops installed that came with a new sink. We had to move from a 2 drain sink to a 1 drain sink and needed to reconnect the plumbing as well which is why we contacted Lloyd. Our experience with the installation company (unaffiliated third party) was sub par. Lloyd was the star that put the final touch on the project, making everything better. Lloyd saved the day by reconnecting the faucet, redoing the plumbing, and installing our new garbage disposal at the same time. I learned so much just by watching him work and he also explained what he was doing every step of the way. Look no further for your plumbing needs! I believe he does other work too such as HVAC and pressure washing.

I appreciate the work and advice that Lloyd provided us over the last two trips. We have used other AC companies before and have not had the top level service he provided. Even though all AC companies are slammed right now, he was here the next day - both times. He worked on our AC and within 3 hours - our home was so cool again.

Lloyd consistently communicated well with us by text and when here. He answered any questions and would text back within 20 minutes or less. We wanted someone local that we could depend on being timely, not overcharging, trying to sell extras, and giving us clear explanations. Lloyd met these expectations and more. He's personable, knowledgeable and a top value. I appreciate he took the time to explain what he was doing and why - an added bonus not provided by many others.

We had 2nd issue with AC we did not know about before and toilet problem. We thought both were going to cost a bundle. He was able to fix quickly, at a good price, and gave recommendations on how the problems could be avoided.

I'm new to the area and a first time homeowner. When I first moved into my townhome in Cary I called Lloyd to fix a couple of plumbing leaks. He was able to replace the leaky parts quickly and for a good price. When I noticed my air conditioner wasn't turning on I called Lloyd to come take a look. It didn't take him long to figure out that I had made a mistake when wiring my new thermostat. Most recently I had him put up a ceiling fan and install a switch to control it from the wall. I'm sure I'll have Lloyd over here again soon to work on more stuff. Not only does he do great work but he's genuinely a good guy and very honest and trustworthy. He is also very fun and easy to have a conversation with. I look forward to his visits even though it usually means something is broken.

Called Maintenance men on call and got an immediate response. Give me an early morning appointment very next day. Mr. Lloyd showed up few minutes earlier. After he looked at the problem gave me the price upfront, he just worked very hard to get our problems solved. Some people said the price is high, but I didn't have to miss work or break a sweat and got all my problems took care of. So I say his service is worthy what I paid for! I am saving his number for life!

Lloyd was fantastic! The first person to respond to my inquiry, same evening. Appt for the next day. Knew exactly what the problem must be with our HVAC. Found an obscure issue no one had found in 8 years (saw it for ourselves). Very fair price. Already going to have him back for a few other jobs! Great guy, great businessman, professional, great price. Can't do better. My only complaint ended up being that we asked if he could do several other tasks for us, which he said he could, but when we emailed we never heard back.

Lloyd came out at a set time, on time. (Never seen that with a plumbing service before.)

He truthfully informed me that he could fix my leaky faucet and that it didn't need to be replaced. Another company had told me it needed replacing because parts would be difficult to find, and then tried to sell me faucets for $300 or $600!

I had a good experience with Lloyd from Maintenance Men on Call. He helped replace an indoor ceiling fan and replace an outdoor ceiling fan with a motion security light. He was on time and considerate with the clean up. Price was also good. I would call MMC again when I need a handyman.

Have a rent house and live out of State so it is hard to find great people when something happens at the rent house. The air conditioner had gone out and the temps were very high. My tenant needed some air fast. Lloyd from MMOC came out and got them through the weekend while we worked out the negotiations on a new unit. I always get multiple quotes and even though Lloyd told me I was getting a good deal I needed to check. I am fairly competent when it come to these things and the deal looked good and was better than I thought. I saved at least $2,000 dollars. Big savings on top of great service. Got the unit ordered and in fast. Did not charge me for the service call and quick fix on the initial visit. Lloyd was great to work with. I would recommend them to everyone.

We hired Lloyd to redo our shower system, replace three water shut-off valves, and fix a broken toilet flange as part of a bathroom remodel. Out of all the jobs that he was hired to do, none were done correctly.

First, the shower system and the shut-off valves were installed using Sharkbite push-to-connect fittings which are typically a DIY solution and are far less reliable compared to the standard methods for installing on CPVC and Pex piping. We know from talking to other plumbers that Sharkbite is not what professional plumbers would use in this setting.

Second, he claimed that the broken toilet flange could only be replaced by cutting open the ceiling below, which i did not want to do. He ended up installing a $5 spanner flange on top of the broken flange (see pic). Again, this is something a DIY-er could easily do. We asked another plumber afterwards and he told us that the toilet flange could have been replaced without having to open the ceiling below.

Lloyd charged us $700 for the parts and labor on this job. We communicated our concerns to Lloyd over email after finding out about the subpar work, but unfortunately we never got any response. We had to pay again to have the work re-done by a professional to ensure our peace of mind that the job was done correctly. I hope this review is useful to anyone who is looking to purchase his services.

Lloyd from MMC has been a lifesaver in our new rental home in Raleigh! His first visit was to uncap an existing gas line for the dryer, which he did quickly and efficiently. His second visit was to repair a shower, and after nearly a month of back-and-forth with our landlords' handymen/reps, the moment they agreed to contract out to MMC I knew the job would finally get done. Sure enough, Lloyd immediately scheduled a time with us, arrived promptly with all the required supplies, and finished the job in record time! We will now be calling him directly for any small repairs needed around the house. Save yourself the headache of a risky DIY and go with MMC!

Lloyd was literally a life saver this past week. We are currently in a rental home and he brought out 2 portable air conditioning units on a Sunday to get us some relief while we waited on another HVAC vendor per the property management company. When the other vendor still couldn't fix the air conditioning unit after 5 days, Floyd and his crew came out in one evening and returned the very next morning and fixed everything. He has also been here before to fix plumbing issues. He couldn't be more professional and down right extremely polite. We are moving into our own home shortly and will continue using him for any maintenance issues that come up. Highly recommend!

We had a stopped up sink at our business and we started by calling the big guys.. they who shall not be named and they showed up 2 hours after they promised they would be there. Quoted us over $400 to fix/clear it. We had already tried a number of things, so I used Yelp and looked for someone with a lot of stars. There is good reason Lloyd of Maintenance Men on Call has a lot of good reviews. He showed up early rather than late. Assessed what the problem was, said he would try and fix it but if he could not fix it easily it would cost a lot, and he'd have to recommend someone else who all they do is that type of problem.
Well, he fixed the drain, and for less than half the cost of they who shall not be named with expensive trucks and big building.
Plus Lloyd is just a really nice guy. I'll definitely use him again, whether it is for the office or home.

Great service! We came home to our AC not functioning and I reviewed Yelp to make a list of HVAC companies we could call first thing in the morning because it was already 78 degrees upstairs and climbing. I accidentally dialed Lloyd's number instead of clicking on his website and quickly hung up since it was around 9:40pm. Lloyd then called me right back and after I explained the hang up he said it was completely fine as he gets calls at all hours since emergencies don't just happen during the day. I was floored by how kind and courteous he was and how much he seemed to care about his work. He said he could come the next day by 1pm and that he would call and come earlier if his other appointments ended early. So I was pleased when he called to see if arriving at 11:30am was ok. He fixed our problem in less than 20 minutes for a perfectly reasonable amount (I was so relieved!). He also explained it thoroughly and was a pleasure to chat with. I highly recommend this company and will be using them again for any needs that arise.

Lloyd came out to check on a potential kitchen faucet repair need for my elderly tenants. Not only did he determine there was no need for repair, he spent the time to speak with my tenants about how the faucet works, ensured they were comfortable the faucet worked to their satisfaction and listened to any additional concerns they had. He called me after his visit was complete, explained what was going on and was incredibly gracious and patient to both my tenants and me, at no charge for the visit. Lloyd has completed several tasks for us. Replaced a pot filler, fixed two doorbells, repaired a noisy toilet, reviewed washer issue and then installed new washer with pan and drainage pipe. He also replaced a garbage disposal for us.

I had a gas leak on my range top after business hours. I called several companies, including so-called 24 hour/emergency numbers, but Lloyd was the only one to call me right back. He gave me specific instructions over the phone explaining the parts that I needed and how to fix the problem myself. Lloyd saved me a lot of money and frustration.

I also hired him to reconnect a couple of sinks after getting my kitchen counter tops replaced (counter top people will disconnect your old sink but they won't reconnect them). Lloyd was quick and reasonable with his price. Also a super friendly guy and he arrived on time. You can't go wrong with Lloyd!

We had Maintenance Men on Call come by for two different plumbing repairs. We needed an expansion tank replaced on our hot water heater and had a leak under our kitchen sink that needed fixing-a part had to be replaced. Both were replaced and the repairs were quick but thorough. We are moving soon and will definitely call them again for any future plumbing or other repairs we may need help with! I called Lloyd today for a kitchen pipe leak, after American Home Shield told me they couldn't get anyone out to the home for 4 days. Well, our tenants couldn't go without running water in the kitchen for that long. I found MMOC through Yelp, called Lloyd and he went to the house right away. He diagnosed the problem, informed me of the repair cost, and kept me in the loop the whole time. I highly recommend MMOC.
