Last week I was experiencing a toilet that wasn't flushing properly in my downstairs bathroom. Upon flushing, the water would fill to the brim and then drain out slowly back to normal. My husband works over an hour away and decided to contact this company as they are located in town and didn't want me to not have use of the downstairs bathroom with 2 small kids at home. The gentleman showed up, snake (I assume?) in hand and I showed him what was happening. He flushed the toilet and turned on the sink. He told me that if the toilet was clogged, that it would be overflowing with the sink on. He never once attempted to plunge or further check for a clog. He opened the back of the tank and told me that we could replace the guts of the toilet, for a few hundred dollars, but that would be a waste. He then suggested that we replace the entire toilet because, and I quote, It's a no name brand. I called my husband on speaker so he could talk to the gentleman as well. My husband explained that it wasn't quite making sense and he asked him to check a bit further. We went downstairs and I showed him the pipes in the basement, still on speaker with my husband we were told there was no clog because he could hear water running through the pipes. My husband asked a few more questions about the possibility of just a clog and was told that the diagnostic he performed was how they get started. We asked for the invoice for the visit and that was it. The invoice clearly states no clog along with his suggested repairs. Suffice to say, my husband came home from work later that evening, gave the toilet one good plunge and voila! Water drained out normal and no issues since. I decided to call them yesterday, a week later, just to make them aware of what happened. I spoke to the owner, let him know that I did not expect a refund, and he did not dispute my claims. He did let me know that he did not want to have an unsatisfied customer, so that they would apply and $85 credit to my account to go toward future services. While I appreciate the gesture, we certainly would not consider using them again. I just wanted to share our experience.
