Wow!! As a realtor, you have the best opportunity to see the work of many... we then choose among the best for our personal needs.  Schaaf came recommended, but after first hand experience, it's a wow!!! It was a last minute request... changing from steam to hot water heat as the move-in date was accelerated and Joe was a consummate  professional.  made time.  knew how to allocate the work among vast army of qualified employees like a general!  The work was so good, the electrician called it a work of art!  The men came, extremely professional and friendly! always smiled, and explained everything! They were so focused on the job, I never even saw them even check their phones!  I had heat within hours!  the price below others and the experience just wonderful!  Highly recommend... if you're reading this, just pull the trigger, you'll be the next writing an equally great review!!!

On Google there are 52 five star reviews - that there are only three here is a travesty. These guys go the extra mile, responsive on weekends and off hours, look at your warranties, swoop in to fix the problem, really just astounding compared to other plumbers I've dealt with.

They are nice people and all that but really had hard time unclogging a simple toilet clog and they also made a mess out off the bathroom with pieces coming off of dirty equipment. They almost were going to remove the toilet but luckily that did not happen. I got charged $250 for partially unclogged toilet which got clogged again the next day. I was clever enough to not call them again but found another plumber through my association, which unclogged the toilet in 10 mins and I didn't even have to clean up afterwards. I was charged second time so ended up paying crazy money for simple jon.  They must be good at other things looking at the reviews but not for unclogging toilets.

I had a leak in the kitchen sink and made a call for service .  They arranged to have a  plumber come to fix in the same day and were very accommodating to my work hours to make a  house call in the  evening .

Manny came and fixed the problem.  He was able to fix other problems that  I had for 4 months and the contractors who renovated my house couldn't fix it or maybe they were too lazy to pay close attention to it.  Manny took the time to evaluate and  was able fix it. He did not rush and worked thoroughly.  My shower head is finally functioning properly and the water filler for my Samsung refrigerator is  now replaced.  Price was  very reasonable ! I finally found a plumber that I've been looking that I can trust my house with!!

I had issues at our place in Edgewater with cold water flow in our kitchen bathrooms following water shutdowns in our town. Even after clearing out the aerators and running the water, the water pressure was extremely low throughout our unit.  We also needed shower handles to be replaced in both bathrooms which we had been holding off on for a while.

I called Schaaf in the morning and they were responsive and set up a time to come in the afternoon.  They came as promised and helped troubleshoot all the areas. There were different causes of the low pressure kitchen and bathrooms and Manny helped figure out each of the causes and fixed the issues. He also replaced all the shower handles and internal cartridges.  Very professional and thorough. I would definitely recommend Schaaf to anyone with plumbing needs.

We had some water in our basement a few months back. We were recommended to call them by a friend who used them before and was very satisfied. Any kind of water issue weather it big or small is not a fun thing to have. The crew of 3 showed up after the call about 2hrs later. At that point I had dried up the excess water but some was still seeping through the bottom molding on the floor. The only positive we had going for us is that our basement is tiled so no wet rugs to have to deal with. Everyone was masked up, assessed the damage and determined that the basement toilet should be snaked out. So they removed the toilet and snaked out to the street, about 40ft. I was hoping they came up with a baby wipe, a toy, or tree roots but nothing. They reassembled the toilet cleaned up any mess and we all hoped that should do it. I got the bill which to tell you the truth was much less than I thought it would be. I asked for the plumber's name and phone number just in case this happened again I could call him directly. Turned out he's a friend of a good friend of mine, which around here is pretty common lol! A week later the same thing happened again, this time on a Saturday late afternoon. Called Joe who remembered me right away, they came within an hr and re-snaked, this time went further over 50ft. Charged only $50 for the call and since then we have been water free knock on wood. I would definitely recommend using them if you have any plumbing issues.

Joe and Jimmy were both great communicating and getting someone out to my place early Sunday morning when I had a really bad drain clog that wouldn't let anything pass. They sent constant updates through texts and email before the service and once the service had been completed I was sent a recap and bill both through email and text. My clog was taken care of in less than 5 minutes. Do not hesitate to reach out to these guys.

The baseboard heating on my first floor was not working. Also the valve to my outdoor faucet was leaking. Jimmy n his assistant arrived n fixed all the problems in an hour. Excellent work n very professional. I highly recommend!

I give Joe and Jimmy five stars for a lot of reasons.  First their prices are reasonable, but just as important are all the other things.  They have always been polite and pleasant when dealing with them.  Unlike other tradesmen I have dealt with, when they say they will be there they ALWAYS arrive on time as promised with a professional and competent crew that gets the job done quickly and completely without leaving a mess behind.  Finally I would feel comfortable giving Joe and Jimmy the keys to my home to go in and complete a job while I was away without any concerns about the job being done correctly or things going missing without someone at the residence.

it was the start of a blizzard and I had a utility appointment whereby the worker accidentally drilled into one my heating pipes. I called schaff plumbing, not really expecting an immediate response given the terrible weather. but Diane picked up my call and Jimmy came over to save the day to fix the hole and keep the heat running. thanks again!

We had a leak in our sink and decided to call Schaaf plumbing based on their reviews. Not only did they come that day at no extra charge, but they fixed the leak at a great price and did a  great job.  They were so good that we had them do additional work that was needed.

I will definitely use them again!

I called up because my hot water tank was leaking water fast. Within an, hour Nick arrived and an hour after that, after a fair price was given, employees arrived at my home and started work. A new hot water tank, complete with copper pipes and new valves was professionally installed. Professional employees, clean work and great service from a great plumber, what more can you ask for? Thank you for your services.

Well All I can say is that I had a problem for about 9 months! I heard noises and smelled a funky odor at times coming from the ceiling area on the first floor of a one family house. It drove me nuts!!!! I called handymen,contractors, various plumbers and exterminators to identify these smells and noises. Maybe the showers leaks, maybe it's the drain from the washer, Maybe it's this , maybe it's that,so on and so on!!! After throwing money after money to these companies and having the same result no one fixed the problem!!! No one until my sister told me to call Schaaf Plumbing, acompaña she used in the past. I was at the end of my rope with this frustrating problem with nothing to lose except more money!! So I called and the next day Joe and Jim arrived and used a smoke machine and found a broken sewer pipe behind the wall and ceiling within 2 hours. They repaired the pipe and solved my problem! I should have called them 9 months ago!.

I called Schaaf after trying many others for some emergency work on a Sunday.  Left several messages and not one reply.  Schaaf answered on the first call and arrived within the hour.  Thoroughly recommend them and we'll definitely be calling them in the future for all our plumbing needs.

If I could give Joe and Schaaf Plumbing & Heating more than 5-stars, I would. Joe is perfectly reliable, honest and takes care to thoroughly explain all options to help you make the right decision. He is attentive and responsive - even though he literally gets a phone call every 2.5 minutes!

His team did an excellent job in a timely manner. I would recommend Schaaf Plumbing & Heating over any other plumbers in the area.

All I can say is these guys are great!  I had a problem with my boiler, I called at 7:30 in the morning and left a message.  Within minutes Joe called me back and was at my house less than 15 minutes later.  Joe quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it immediately.  While he was there he took care of another issue I was having with my heating system and I am thrilled with the results.  These guys are honest experts and their service is outstanding.  Don't get ripped off by other plumbers who take advantage of and overcharge you, the customer.  Make sure you check out these guys before you go anywhere else.  Really!

Joe from Schaaf has been to my house 4 times now.  His decades of experience is immediately apparent.  So far there is nothing that he cannot do.  And he does it fast, with precision and the price is very fair.  The best serviceman to ever come to my house in 25 years.

Manny and Robert came to my house and gave me top-notch, timely service. There was no rescheduling a different day or excuses as to why they had to bill me for more costs. They worked quickly and were total professionals. A job I was told would take several days and nearly $3000 by a previous plumber was done in under four hours with minimal damage to my drywall and tile surround, at a fraction of the cost quoted by another service.  I will DEFINITELY be using Schaaf Plumbing again and highly recommend them to others.

I'd definitely recommend this business.  Unfortunately we had to use them a few times, as we have an issue with water in our basement at times. (Tree roots are getting in...) Each time they have arrived with a team, and was able to snake the drains.

My first ever 1 star review anywhere. They jip you off on component cost, I was told $40 per valve and found out it was $20 on google search. They installed 10 so was jipped off $200.

Here' the full story. I called these guys to fix some of my rooms not getting much heat from my steam boiler. Manny said the reason would be my water valve is not closing in tight enough so it needs replacement and also the valves in my radiators are old so recommended that they be switched. I was verbally quoted maybe $12 per valve and asked if I wanted them done in all the rooms, I said sure. He said he'd come back in few days because he didnt have the valves. He estimated maybe $400~$500(1 water pipe valve+10radiator valves).

The morning comes back he said $700 because the valves were almost $40 each. I calculated ok $28*10 is extra $280 so $700 seemed good for the price range he initially gave.

Months later, I happened to open up my radiator to adjust something and just out of curiosity, google the price of the exact component and to my surprise, so many sellers on internet at $20 a piece. Was furious but it was already months past and I didnt want to bother speaking with them without a detailed bill.

Aside from being jipped off on materials, I called the guy to resolve some rooms not being heated enough, and he said fixing the valves was going to resolve it. Well, guess what. The room was better but certainly not fixed. I didnt want to get jipped off again so just called another company.

Upto you to use these guys but definitely do your due diligence by asking to quote two things, the exact component+the cost and what labor will be. Im sure many contractors will try to squeeze the most out of your job but these guys are certainly one of those.

As a new homeowner, I am so happy to have found such a wonderful plumbing company. We have had two serious emergencies that we had to call Schaaf for. We dealt with Manny both times and he was super professional and explained everything to us in detail. He responded quickly for both emergencies and did a great job. The first time we called because our heat wasn't working in the middle of January!! I mentioned we had a baby and it was freezing and Manny showed up RIGHT AWAY to fix the problem. The last time was for a leak in our basement and he came to fix the clog first thing in the morning. They have also done smaller jobs like fixing leaks in our faucet, installing our nest thermostat, and a bathtub leak. Their prices are really affordable too! I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable plumber.

I was in a jam and needed a plumber to provide quick service in order to meet our closing date (we are selling our home). The Schaaf team gave me quick responses and was able to provide us service on the same day as our request.  Besides their quick service, their staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable.  I'd use them again and recommend them to anyone.

All around great experience from Schaaf Plumbing! Diane is fantastic to work with and was very understanding and accommodating to get us squeezed into their busy schedule. Had them out twice for 2 separate issues. Worked with Jimmy and Pedro. Great guys and they were honest, quick, friendly and got the job done the 1st time (dog friendly also). Schaaf is my go to plumbing & heating company in Hoboken from now on!!!

It's been a few weeks but I wanted to make sure I left a review for this company because the entire experience from start to finish was superb.

Unfortunately over the years we have dealt with subpar plumbing/mechanical contractors for work inside our properties. That was certainly not the case with Schaaf. Scheduling was very fast and easy (and I certainly enjoyed the woman I was dealing with on the phone; she put a smile on my face). Schaaf was literally at my property the next day and scheduled their visit around my hectic schedule. Everything about their visit was fair and professional. The pair of licensed professional plumbers (and I use the word professional because there are too many other companies out there with hack job plumbers) arrived on time, assessed issues we had and performed the work we needed in a very timely manner. The work was done correctly, and they even did troubleshooting to pinpoint an issue we were having with water flow to a hose spigot. We initially thought a valve needed to be replaced, however, the internal component of the existing hose spigot had actually exploded and jammed the line. They replaced the hose spigot with a quality (American-made) product and ALSO tightened the packing nut on the associated valve that we thought was faulty. (Any other plumber would have tried to sell you an entirely new shutoff valve in addition to the hose spigot). The price was fair (or better than fair compared to previous experiences). You receive text message updates when the plumbers are scheduled to arrive and when they are on their way, as well as immediate copies of invoices and such. There is literally no reason to call anybody else. There are only a handful of plumbers in the area that perform quality work at a fair (for both parties) price (Schaaf, Triple P). Don't call anybody else. When we need our AC condenser and air handler replaced soon we will not be calling anybody else. Excellent experience. Thanks again Schaaf.

These guys gave me a competitive price for a water heater installation and came two days later to install.  They were respectful, thorough, tested everything before leaving, cleaned up after themselves, and took their time to walk me through how to use it. No surprises, no hidden costs. Will be using them again!

I woke up to no hot water from my 4 year old Bradford & White water heater and found Schaaf through yelp. Gave them a call and got a call back promptly to set up an appointment.  

They were able to visit me within a few hours of the call and got me back up and running in one hour. The guys were friendly, patient and professional. Even my overly protective dogs liked them.  They answered all of my questions and gave me an estimate which I felt was fair and worth every penny.  

I was also impressed that they arrived right at the beginning of the quoted time window.  When it is time for any plumbing repairs or a new water heater, I will definitely be giving them a call.  Thank you Jimmy.

Every time we have an issue we seem to always come back to Schaaf Plumbing.  We tried other plumbers but Schaaf knows what they are doing. They are on the pricey side. The issue is usually completed with in a timely matter.  Joe and staff is very respectful and friendly. They explain the process to you step by step.

We called Schaff on Sunday morning with a leaking hot water heater and out of town visitors landing in a few hours. We were expecting to wait until Monday to hear back but Manny answered right away and was at our house within the hour. He and Louis did a great job and had everything fixed and ready to go before our guests even landed. Having a water heater break and having to spend that much $$$ really stinks but at least the process of fixing it was easy and painless.

They're great. Joe was across the street at a new house (Cliffside), I thought he was the general contractor... I asked if he could recommend a good plumber. He said, um, me? A few minutes later, he came over and fixed the problem: fast, nice. I will definitely make referrals and recommendations. Good people.

Had an excellent experience with fixing my boiler. Very knowledgeable and provided good advice. They did not try to overcharge me or pay for more than what I needed. Highly recommend.

I know it's nearly impossible to rely on the reviews you read on Yelp or on Google or any website for that matter ... but I'll keep this short and simple. If you need help with your heating system, you have to call Schaaf's and ask for Manny. Extremely helpful, honest, and willing to provide an estimate free of charge, when these other guys charge nearly a hundred bucks just to come to your house. If you need any help with your heating system, you have to call Schaaf's. Will be referring and calling back for any future needs.

We had 2 toilets that were leaking - they came on time, and Jim and his assistant were great - fixing both in less than an hour.  They were clean and respectful as well as respecting our home - cleaned up all the residue (old parts, etc) .     We will definitely call them next time we need a plumber
