Felt scammed.
Called them to look at my furnace. I told them I added water to the system. They said they needed t add more for a pressure test. They added the water and said my furnace wasn't working because it was leaking.
They said they needed to service two parts for over $600 with no guarantees and a new furnace would be $10,000. I paid them for their service call and got PSEG to look at. The tech said he drained 10 buckets of water out of the system and the heat worked in 20 minutes.
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY.

I will refrain from comments and focus on providing facts only. So here goes.

* Home boiler (sole source of home heating) pilot light was out, could not re-light it. Called Russo Brothers
* Russo sent a service person, who identified a faulty thermo-coupler. Replaced it. All checked out good. Charge: $285.36
* Later that evening, I smelt gas, called Russo (after hours)
* They had a service person over within the hour - identified a faulty gas shut-off going into the boiler. NOTE: This shut-off was a not a problem before that morning
* Shut-off replacement + off hours visit charge $337.73

Feb 2, 2018
* Pilot light is out again, cannot relight it. It is well below freezing outside
* 6:47pm: I call Russo about this
* 6:57pm: They call me back. Read my account history, including the fact that part and labor have 1 year warranty. But tell me that I will have to pay $250+ to just get a service person to come out to take look. Parts + labor extra. Said, they would call and see who could come out
* 8:41pm: I call back and leave a message
* Don't get a call back until Saturday 7:51am

Feb 5, 2018
* 8:51am: Get a call from Russo if I still needed service. Tell them about my frustration that they did not honor their warranty nor were responsive. No offer for remuneration, remediation

Not the first time this has happened.
* Last year, they came for a general inspection of my AC units. It was raining so tech said he would have to come back for outside inspection. Came back and charged me again for 2nd visit
* Year before last, they came for general inspection of my AC units. All was well. A few months later there was water near the unit - charged me $500+ to fix it. Did not take culpability for the fact that the unit was inspected by them and no preventative maintenance identified for the clogging of the overflow valve

Company is a complete scam. They hire scam artists. I had a kid some to my home and tried selling me a new condensor outside. He said that it was not fixable that it needs to be replaced. They sent another tech out and he said the same. I asked around about these guys and heard what they are about. Theyre salesmen. They need to make money off you some way or another even if its by stealing it. Had a private company come in from a friemds recommendation. The unit needed a booster and it works perfectly fine. I will never ever recommend this company to anyone. There is alot of false reviews on this site ive read them. Its a disgrace. Where are all the honest mechanics?

These people are the biggest dirt bags.
Over charged me. Had the worst attitude.
Then asked if I wanted a water pressure test which I refused and wrote it in large letters on invoice that I refused like it mattered.
THEN had the nerve to report me to town for not having a permit for previous work done. How in hell did he know this?
He has to be in someone's pockets in town hall. Stay away. You're asking for trouble.

We recently moved to our newly built home. We had some serious humidity concerns, along with ac and later heating issues. We worked with Pat from the beginning, he guided us appropriately and without his input, we would likely have a terrible result dealing with the builders hvac and plumber.
Every recommendation Pat made, was the correct solution. If Pat did not have the answer - he would research it. Our first seasonal maintenance was completed well, technician was very knowledgeable and we will request he return in the Spring.

Nothing is worst than having to call a plumber for your house to repair a leak after a pipe burst. Only to find out out my water heating system also failed and needed repair after the basement water damage.

However, Russo Bros did an great job. Though I was upset at the overall cost of the damage, their service person Nick was extremely professional and also very skilled in explaining the problems and why and what he had to fix. Plus he helped make sense why plumbers are so damn expensive.

So I am absolutely NOT a fan of big companies like this.. i prefer my smaller local outfits....  the big ones have no customer service, show up late, charge you absurd amounts while telling you you need to replace everything and just overall aren't friendly.... Russo brothers is the EXACT OPPOSITE!  It's a family owned and run company.. benefits of the bigger shops in terms of skill set and availability but the service of your local guy.  They are honest, friendly, and know what they are doing!!!!!  Thank you!!!

Stay away. Had to hire a different company to remediate.

I called them in a pinch this summer when my A/C wasn't working on a 20yo unit. Had them replace my whole system, and it took their first plumber 12 hours to leave me with a wet basement and no A/C for the first night. Then the boss plumber came the next day to completely re-do the job. 2 months later, its 40 degrees, my heat doesn't work, and they wont come out for 2 weeks to fix it.

Long story below:
-Tech told me rescue motor ($200 amazon part and undo 4 bolts) would fix the issue - $2000 non-refundable and it didn't work so it was pay 2k or use them for a new system 15k. (20yo system, mid-july and I have an infant so I needed it done)
-installers threw my shrubs on the lawn,  didn't remove old base, didn't level the new unit, didn't re-insulate the external piping, and drilled into the sheathing on the whip to the new condenser. Luckily i was there to argue these things as they happened although most of these I had to fix myself.

Heat didn't work because they used 2in exhaust pipe 30ft with 10+ elbows - according to manufacturer - 2in pipe should be less than 20 ft with no more than 2 elbows.

They also install bottom of the line Rheem with no input from the customer. I called 3 times to find this out btw. Spend your money elsewhere.

Technician Anthony C. was very professional.  He showed up as scheduled and completed the job in a neat and timely manner.  He explained what needed to be done before he began and made sure the job was acceptable to me before he left.  It is a comfort to me that there are still honest and reliable service technicians out there.  Anthony and Russo Bros. are just that.

Always on time and knowledgeable employees.  Raul A. was at our house Wednesday, June 7, 2017.  He was nice and acted professionally at all times.  You may find a less expensive plumber, but I doubt you will find one that is as reliable, respects your time and professional as Russo Brothers

Beware. Had one of their techs come out troubleshoot my condenser for $117.  Nice guy but then again most salesmen are. The tech told me that the repair would be about $1400 parts and labor plus the $117 to troubleshoot and that parts had to be ordered. Then proceeded to convince me that I should replace it instead for $2900.  I told him it's going to have to wait. Next day I called another company. The tech replaced all defective parts which he had on his truck for under $400.

BUYER BEWARE! My hot water heater broke at night (luckily it didn't burst but was leaking) & through a recommendation I called Russo. The tech came out quickly & was very professional. This is where the good review ends.... They wouldn't give me a quote on the phone but I knew where the price should be. After looking at what had to be done the tech tried to tell me the vent pipe needed to be 4, needed a new shut off & grounding wire. Gave me a quote of $2200! I asked him to do better. He said he could take off the $50 service fee (really?!) & $150 in taxes (FYI there aren't any taxes for capital improvements), which brought me down to about $2090. I promptly told him I wouldn't be using their service. I had another plumber come in for almost $1000 cheaper! I will NEVER call them again. Completely overpriced!

Russo Bros & Co overcharged us on a service call for a faucet leak in Morristown.
We needed a faucet repair cylinder for a bathtub faucet that costs less than $50 in Home Depot.  The charge for the work that took the service person one hour was $900.00.  There were no structural issue, no tile removed or any extraordinary issues.
Then, I called the service desk at Russo 3 times.  The woman who took the call advised a service manager would contact me to discuss this matter.   I am still waiting for a call back!  This type of service is what we all fear when we need assistance and make service calls.
You would do well to go elsewhere when you need a plumber!

Pleasant office staff, on time technician, work explained thoroughly, called in an additional plumber when it was clear that mine was a big job (I had several minor plumbing issues -- slow drains, etc. -- and was changing out several fixtures).  When it turned out I had purchased the wrong part (I bought fixtures ahead of time) the technician was able to order me the right part and have it delivered for less that the cost of the part I originally purchased.  Work done neatly and professionally, both technicians friendly and courteous.  The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is pricing -- it was a very expensive job and I am sure I could have had it done for less if I called around.

When we first moved into our house, the furnace would not kick in on the first cold night, I will skip the gory details, but they had to send another person later in the night and all in all, we got charged over $1,000 because we did not know better and nothing was seriously wrong. They took advantage of newbee house owners but good- $600+ for first visit and $400+ for the second. Nice neighbors indeed. No offer to cut us a break. F them.

Alright so here was my experience today with Russo Bros & Co.
Joe Cluxton the technician arrived at 8:20 AM he walked through step by step my issues and the what and where and why and cost etc... no used car salesman technique at all.
He was very patient with me when asking him questions and took his time explaining why I was having issues. Of course when I did get the quote I was like OMG my heart  BUT I have had shotty work done before ( twice to be exact and there were plumbers that were referred to me) and vowed not to get stuck because I was having same issues over and over again. So I went ahead and told Joe let's do it he started roughly at 9:45 AM he put on his booties every time he came in and out of house and made sure he had clean drop cloths and WAS VERY diligent in being clean and neat, he started in one area and made sure he was 100% done with one area before starting the next job. I WAS IMPRESSED by that alone because I have had delivery guys and painters etc...mess up my good hardwood floors.

As mentioned he started at 9:45 AM and did not leave my house roughly around 2:00 PM and he made sure we did a walk through and again answered any questions. Also like to add he has patience of a saint because my Dad definitely was asking him a ton of questions while trying to work he was patient and professional at all times.
He left me with his card and said any issues do not hesitate to call...my point he wasn't rushing and I appreciate that you can see that he takes pride in his trade.

So my experience was great because of Joe Cluxton. I would NOT hesitate to refer Russo Brothers to my friends and family I would ask ONLY for Joe because of how great he treated me and my home. And yes sticker shock on the fee but I was having same issues time and time again I couldn't deal with it, at least they give you a year if any issues do arise to come out and take care of it. Thank you Joe and hope NOT to see you soon :-) any issues will definitely request Joe.

The owners should be very appreciative to have a great technician/employee like Joe because he truly made you guys shine in my eyes.

Really great experience with this company today. Had a clogged toilet, they came out within a day of my calling (it wasn't an emergency). Arrived on time, tech was very courteous and professional - wore booties every time he came in and out of the house. Tried an easy fix first, when that didn't work, explained a more complex process. Went through pricing before doing any work. Took two hours to complete the job, and left my bathroom in the exact condition that he found it. Could not have asked for nicer service. While it did cost just under $500 to fix, I thought for the amount of work, this price was fair. We had tried without success to fix the problem ourselves, so we knew there had to me something really going on - and there was.  Would definitely use them again.

Did not fix my water hammer and when he tried to fix the problem by adjusting the water tank in the toilet, he caused the water to not shut off.

I had this toilet for 7 years with no problem, then this plumber caused a new problem  So, did not fix the water hammer and caused another problem with the water tank not shutting down, but continuing to run.  Cost us over $1,000.
Do not use Russo Bros.

Good service but very overpriced. I had 4 quotes for some work in my laundry room. All quotes were from professional licensed plumbing companies. The Russo Bros quote was about 50% higher than the other 3 quotes which were all relatively close. Unbelievable! I cannot recommend them.

Beware of this company. Customer service is poor (Maureen is rude and disrespectful). No itemized bill means that you can be quoted outlandish amounts and if you have no background in this area, you can be easily taken advantage of. While the technician is kind and acted professionally, we had to request that he come out again to correct an issue with the initial work. All in all, not a good experience. Paid $495 for a leaky faucet.

Russo Brothers are day light robbers .  I called them because they were recommending to me by the manufacturer of my heating equipment .  I had to replace a hot water heater which needed to be replaced under warranty .  I already had the replacement which is identical to the one in place with four simple connections , two at the top and two at the bottom .  The receptionist Joanne was very nice and sent me a technician in the same afternoon .  He came and looked at the work and after taking several photos and talking to his manager came back with a quote of $4950 !!   just for labor .  I asked him for breakdown which he did not .  He is supposed also to  replace an expansion tank ( $42 in Home depot and about 30 minutes of labor ), and an unnecessary replacement of a relief valve ( $35 in Home Depot and about one hour labor ) .

At the normal rate 0f $125 per hour (  my son who is an emergency room physician , gets about $150 per hour ) ,  these guys were charging me for nearly 38 hours of labor which is a whole week .  The whole thing was completed by another very experienced and qualified plumber for $750 in less than half day .

I am not sure how these people stay in business .  They are a total disgrace to the plumbing profession .

Polite, courteous and totally professional.
My AC unit was under pressurized and switching on / off constantly. Bill from Russo Bros was working in my street and after speaking with his dispatch, he came on over and had the problem diagnosed in less than five minutes. He completed all the repairs, came into the house (wearing inside shoe covers) to check everything was working correctly, made a few adjustments and was done!
Everything was thoroughly explained, detailed on his iPad and the invoice sent to my email address as we spoke.
Contractors often get a bad rap ( often deserved), I rarely write reviews, however.... Russo Bros impressed me (so much so that I signed up for their annual service plan without being asked or cajoled).
So refreshing to feel that you had great service, and you actually got what you were paying for.

We called and got a same-day response, 4 days before Christmas!  Harun A. was very confident and knew what he was doing.  He was very informative and  understood our situation.  The cost was clearly explained up front.  Harun wore a mask (fitted properly) and protective booties to fix our plumbing problem.  We would recommend this fast and capable business for your plumbing needs.

I am sorry I didn't look here first.  It's all in black and white.

Russo Bros. came to my home to clear a blocked bathtub drain.  Without asking, they waived the $49 service charge, but the fee to clear the drain via a snake was $249 for 20 minutes work.

Their website is clear that they charge by the job and not by the hour, but I thought this was expensive.  To justify an expensive rate by stating they don't nickel and dime you minute by minute reminds me of a pub sign that reads:

Buy one beer for the price of two and receive a second beer absolutely free

Russo Bros. doesn't do you any favors with pricing, but my tub is clear so they are capable of delivering the stated service.  BTW, they will not provide estimates over the phone and the service charge of $49 is due if you refuse service.  I asked.

UPDATE:  Based on the comment below, these guys aren't transparent with their pricing and they are content to get paid $49 at a time.  Look for a local plumber that will be willing to ballpark pricing.  I was tricked into inviting them to look at my problem based on the waived $49 service fee, but found that really dealing with them was expensive at $249 for 20 minutes.  I'm pretty good at math...that's $750 an hour...is this guy worth that?  Not unless he is bringing bail money;  look elsewhere for a value plumber.

If I could give Russo Brothers negative stars... I would. They pride themselves on treating your home as if it was their own. The service was sub par, they got sludge on my new carpet, and charged 3 times what the original quote was. I took the day off to be home while they worked and at no point did they come up and let me know that the price would go up for the work they were doing. they charged $198.00 to put on a toilet handle. if I had known that was the price I would have done it myself. They snaked my sewer line and told me it collapsed and shut the water off. They told me I had 24 hours to schedule them to fix it and the price was $16,000.00. After several second opinions and staying at a hotel for 7 days, I had a sewer specialist check the line and he said it was clear with no breakage!!!! If I gave in to the panic they induced I would have paid $16,000.00 for no reason.
Bottom Line: Poor service, bad work ethic, astronomic prices, total swindlers.

Please read this review and make an informed decision for yourself.

The company responds very quickly and can get someone out to the house pretty fast.  The technician was very polite and friendly.  He put a bootie on when in the house but it defeat the purpose when you leave the house with the bootie.

I am giving this company one star for how much they charge and I'm outraged at the price.  Our heater was broken and the problem was the igniter.   You can buy that for 25.  We were charged 179 for diagnostic fee. And then charged us almost 900 for the igniter and the work they did.  Which didn't take more than 30 minutes (not including the time they left the house to go get the igniter).

We were told the reason for the very high price is due to the fact that the price is set by a third party which is the average price for this.

I still can't believe how high the price is.   If you have money to spend then this is the company for you.   If you are an average household looking for a someone to charge you a fair price, please do not use this company.   Find a local company who has their client interest at heart.

It's a shame.  We were hoping that this company would be our to go company for things that need to be fixed.  Everyone needs one.  Too bad this company is only interested in charging exorbitant prices.

I recently requested a quote from Russo Bros. for a bathroom sink p-trap and snake.  The visit for a quote cost $69 plus tax, and the technician couldn't do the snake and in fact had none in his truck, and would have to call in their snake specialist to do the job.  Their quote was $895.00.

I contacted another business who did the whole job in 35 minutes, that same day, for $200.00.   Caveat Emptor.

I find it unbelievable that I got a response to my initial review suggesting a phone call. I DID call the office and asked for an HVAC manager. When I explained that the rep had wasted two hours of my time and then told me they were unable to do the job I had initially advised the office about, the HVAC manager said, So, what's the problem?'

ABSOLUTE WORST.  Came to my house, idiot technician with zero experience mis-diagnosed problem.  Replaced a part that was working fine.  Charged a thousand dollars, then heat still not working.  Said another thousand needed, but still won't solve problem.  Said installation is bad.  Best part, they were the same company that installed ten years prior.  Save yourself the headaches and call someone else.

Had Russo Brothers out to the house today. No problem with the technician or the service but the price was OUTRAGEOUS! $400 to replace a $20 thermocouple? And that was after the discount. They say right on their website that they aren't the cheapest bur WOW! It was $117 just to get them out to look at the unit. My fault really for not doing my homework ahead of time. I wont soon forget a $400 lesson. In their defense its not like they hid any charges or suggested in any way that their prices were reasonable. The tech was there when he said he would be and finished the job quickly. So quickly in fact that it worked out to be roughly $380 an hour in labor. Not sure how contractors like this sleep at night but with these prices I bet its in really expensive houses.

Edit:
Just seeing the company's response to my review now. Either they have me confused with another customer or they are intentionally being dishonest  about the circumstances surrounding my service call. Almost nothing in their description is accurate. In any case I stand behind my review. My neighbor has recently had the same issue address in her home at nearly 1/3 the price I Was charged. Every company has expenses to cover but this is price gouging at its worst.

So let me start out bu saying they do good work. Not the problem. Used them to disconnect a washer, dryer and gas grill because we were moving. Made the appointment 3 weeks in advance and told them all of that on the phone when I made the appointment. Have used them before for other things. Technician showed up, rattled off some pricing and started to work. Told me that the shut off valve for the washing machine needed to be replaced (which I now question) or he couldn't disconnect the washing machine. PS. an hour later he is finished and hands me a bill for $825. Because I had used them before and thought it was a mistake I called and questioned it. She (I think her name was Maureen) said that they bill each service separately according to the plumbers association guidelines. This should have been told to me when I made the appointment not when the tech was at my house and the work needed to be done that day when I needed to put the grill out for metal pickup and buyers were coming for the washer and dryer. In the mean time the tech sat in his truck in front of my house for more than an hour after he was finished. I did feel like the other times I used them that they were always trying to up sell me, but ignored it because they do good work. Not anymore.

I live in a condo and the neighbor below my unit had a water leak.  Turns out the copper pipe that services my unit runs over their wall.  A pin hole leak was found and Russo Bros technician says it will cost $650+ to repair.  I expressed my outrage at the price (I didn't even call these guys, my downstairs neighbors did),  A few minutes later the technician says he talked to his boss and can reduce the charge to $455.  Still a rip-off as far as I'm concerned.  I've had other plumbers do the same job for $100 less.  The guy was done in a half hour.  If it was my call, I would never use these thieves.

These people are scam artists shop around and you will pay much less for better quality work... Had them put in an Air handler and they charge me over $800 when the tech told me it only cost them about $150 to buy... I called Russo Brothers to repair a leaky tub faucet. They scheduled the appointment for the next day (today). They did a great job and I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I have used Russo Bros several times and have always been impressed with their professionalism and I like that someone always answers the phone.  I had Anthony C at my house today to do routine maintenance on my boiler and he was friendly, courteous and thorough.  He left a sitcker on my boiler that tells what was done today so that anyone who looks can see what services were performed.  He also took the time to explain to me how my heating system works and made sure I was aware of the location of the emergency shut offs.

Called because both toilets in my house were clogged and needed quick service. They told me it would be $49 for the emergency charge( which is fine) but then didn't show up until the next day.
Plumber attempted to unclog one toilet and couldn't get it so then moved on to the upstairs one. After maybe 15 minutes of work and going back to his truck for a different snake, he then said the toilets were broken and i would need to replace both. After hearing about his 10 yrs on the job and how experienced he was, I obviously knew i had only one option. I MUST CALL ANOTHER PLUMBER.
I paid my stupid emergency charge and said i'd be in touch.
I called a buddy of mine who was a plumber and he stopped by with a snake and after 25 min had both toilets unclogged. he even cleaned them for me afterwards.
what a waste of time and money it was calling Russo Bros & Co.

Art has been helping us with our ongoing plumbing issues. He is knowledgable and helpful. The company is easy to work with and plumber availability is excellent.

There is nothing to further discuss with this company.
Someone had already called me to discuss their displeasure with my contacting the police on them- to report the situation ---and their criminal activity.
The technicians that came to the house (Lou and Max) tried to take advantage of the situation ---and rip me off by about $1,000. The owner (of course) couldn't explain how one minute my part is broken and the next minute wallah! A miracle--- part no longer broken.
I believe the technicians are taught and told what to do from the top.  You were caught Russo--- I suggest you shape up and be honest.  Especially with women ---

I don't usually write these reviews, but Russo Bros upset me so much with their service and pricing.  I even called their office to quietly tell their management about their service, was told they would call back, which they never did.

In a nutshell, our heating system was making a humming noise during this cold winter.  Russo Brothers came out and told me the Contactor needed to be replaced, and want ro charge me $550 for the part/installation, plus $179 for a service call.  I found online the part costs $10-$45, and full replacement with labor ranges from $150-$350 complete.

I sent them away, told them not to bother.  I found another local company whi would have charged  $225, but they told me the part was good and didn't need replacing.  The unit has been working fine since then.

I liked Russo alot when they first installed my system five years ago, but am appalled now at their business practices and service.

Hello. I wanted to write this post to warn you if you are considering using this service. Last month, I had a issue with a toilet which was not taking in water to flush.  So I called Russo Bros. & Co. The man came and said I needed to replace all the inside parts in order for it to start working again. The prices he gave me for the plastic parts were ridiculously high. I then called another plumber and he came and showed me that there a switch that needed to be turned back on. It automatically turns off when main water valve is shut off. Needless to say, he showed me and did not charge me. He also explained to me that Russo Bros. & Co. work on commission for parts they sell.  Please be AWARE and do NOT be taken advantage of!!

These guys are good at what they do, but their prices are VERY high even for this over-priced area of NJ.   Not sure if they have too much overhead or have such loyal customers that they don't need to be competitive, but ALWAYS get 2-3 estimates as you may be shocked by the huge  price difference.

needed to repair my toilet tank.after flushing, after fifteen minutes or so sounds like the water was running.
I called Russo bros and made a appointment for the afternoon.
they fixed  the problem with a hefty price attached to it. I could have brought a new toilet for what they charged.

Incredibly fast service - we called about a broken water heater at 8:30 AM and a team was here by 9:30. They were COVID and safety conscious and assessed the issue, gave me clear pricing options, and we had a new water heater installed by 3 PM. I have a newborn and a 2.5 yr old so we need hot water pretty much constantly. Russo Bros were prompt and professional, and I wouldn't call anyone else when I need a plumber.

$956 for a $88 part and less than an hour labor!

I had Russo Bros. & Co. come out for service for intermittent heat and they charged a $150 diagnostic fee.  It was a warm day and the technician was time constrained and their opinion was there was no issue but assured me if there was any issue, Russo Bros. & Co. would come back and waive the diagnostic fee.

Shortest version, it was a warm month and it is a area of the house not used every day, about a month later we turned on the heat and it didn't work so I called Russo Bros. & Co..  They were not very pleasant about informing me I'd need to pay another diagnostic fee, even though I agreed if I didn't have them do any work I'd pay it.  Even though they answer the phone it's a great day at Russo Brothers, they were mean-spirited and argumentative about collecting their fee.

Russo Bros. & Co. sent a Service Manager who apologized and said they would waive the diagnostic fee, it was a misunderstanding and requested I take down a yelp review.  They replaced a circulator pump.

What prompted the re-review for prospective customers is that they charged me $956 for the circulator.  The circulator pump has a list price of $157 and sells on amazon for $88.  amzn.to/2S8lN8I

My system has individual shut-offs for each pump, plenty of space to work and the Service Manager was in my basement less than an hour.

So, Russo Bros. & Co did not rectify the situation to my satisfaction.  For those interested, a search for cost to replace circulator pump on boiler on Angie's list a full repair including labor ranges between $200 and $550, this was the highest range I could find, and their assumptions even use same Taco-brand pump.

I understood I was paying a premium with Russo Bros. & Co, but as other reviews note I believe they gouged me on price, in my specific case and giving them the benefit of the doubt, they overcharged me more than 42%.  And by the way, there was a Better Business Bureau complaint about their diagnostic fee.

I'll never use them again.

Our hot water heater broke over the weekend and needed replacement.  One local plumbing company cancelled at the last minute. I called Russo Brothers and they sent over someone the same day.   Plumber technician, Jeff arrived promptly and replaced our 75 gallon hot water heater with his assistant Zach.  This was a very big, time-consuming job and they both did a fantastic job.  Jeff explained everything right from the start and answered all my questions.  Both gentlemen came in with foot/shoe coverings, which was appreciated. They were clean, worked efficiently and did an amazing job. The old hot water heater had to be removed and was brought up the stairs and put on the truck to make room for the new one.  Zach laid out a covering over the stairs and provided protection for our carpets. When the job was done, Jeff went through the house to make sure all the faucets were working efficiently. He assured me if there was any problem, it would be taken care of.  I was completely satisfied with the job they both provided. Both Jeff and Zach were courteous and professional. They left my basement completely clean and in the condition as when they came.  We have been customers of Russo Brothers for over 20 years. They can be more expensive than other plumbers and there have been times I have been disappointed with the high price.  The total for this job was over $3,100.00.  However, the work will be done correctly from the day it is done and I have rarely had any problems with their work.

I cant say enough good things about this company.  I have used them now for 2 major jobs in my house and I dont have a single complaint.  Everyone I deal with is professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful.  They may cost a bit more because they are a larger company, but I have total confidence that the job is done right and I have no worries.  The crew is totally conscious of Covid-19 precautions.  They are efficient and tidy.

I called Russo for an estimate. They were not available to come to the house on Saturdays. They called me back few months after and set an appointment during the week. A guy came to the house. Very nice guy. He left telling me he was going to send me a quote. He never did.

If you read the owner's respone, you'll notice that he did not deny a single thing I said.  Not a single thing!  Everything I said is true.  Their prices are double...sometimes 5 times what they should be.

Russo Bros was the first company that I met that used this scam.  It's funny but it's not illegal at all.  Why not?  Well, they didn't claim that the official-looking cost book that they brought out of the truck came from a independent 3rd party company.  They simply brought the book out and YOU made the assumption that the book would be fair.  YOU were the one too embarrassed to ask what the book was.  (Don't feel bad, my wife was too.)

I'm actually starting to see other companies start using this same scam.  And it works.  I heard this guy brag to me that he charged $6k for a $2k job to this old lady who didn't know better.  I just stared at a fellow American and wondered how he could do that.  Business is not business.  I've come to the realization that scamming people WILL make you more money but I don't think it's worth it.  I don't think I could take the shame of looking at my face every morning.  I genuinely don't understand how this owner does it.

I originally wrote a review that outlined the scam that Russo Bro perpetuates.  (I'll retype my original review below so everyone can see what they do.)  They have been doing it for a LONG time, perhaps decades.  They had a 5 star review until I exposed them for what they are.  And, then everyone looked at their past invoices and realized that they were indeed scammed and started writing bad reviews about them.
It's sad but OTHER businesses are starting to get in on this act too as they see how profitable this scam is.  It's not illegal but it's still a scam.  It's tricking you into believing the prices comes from some legitimate source when it doesn't.  Please report their activity on Yelp or some other review source like Google.  It's wrong.

Here is a summary of my original review that Yelp removed (which is probably illegal):

(Please notice that Yelp removed my original review that detailed their scam.  I guess they paid Yelp off.  Fortunately, it wasn't enough to remove this review.  I'm sure if they remove this review, they would get sued by Consumer Affairs because everything I said was true and unbiased.)

My wife called Russo Brothers because they had 5 star reviews (at the time; nobody realized the scam that they were running and the tons of money they were making).  They appear extremely professional.  They will call you before the appointment.  They will wear their little booties.  And, when the job is over, they will take out this cost book that is supposed to some official book on plumbing prices.  Where does this cost book come from?  .  It comes from a publishing company that sells these costs books that has plumbing prices that are LITERALLY twice, five, or even ten times more than any other company would charge.  If you dispute the cost of a small faucet leak that costs $500, they will say that's what the cost book says, they can't do anything about it.

Previously, everyone just assumed that the official price book must be true and accurate because it comes from an official looking book.  But, that is the scam.  The book isn't published by some sort of Plumbing Association or a Plumbing Group that publishes fair prices.  It's just a dressed up book that has EXTREMELY inflated prices.

Yes, they will call you before you before the appointment, they will wear their booties so your floors don't get dirty, and they will do the job correctly.  But does that justify that the cost of the job is LITERALLY ten times what other plumbers charge?  Hell no.

To the past customers of Russo Brothers, check your invoices.  Look at the price and then check the price of another plumber who might have fixed something similar.  Notice a difference?  Yep, you'll notice a HUGE difference.  They will take your hard-earned money with a smile.

I've used Russo Brothers for years.  They are always very courteous and prompt and they do the job they say they are going to do.  I appreciate their professionalism.  They always tell me how much the job is going to cost before they proceed.  I think they're the best in the area.

Called the company and gave my details for a quote to install a google nest system in my house. When asked if preferred to be contacted by phone or email, I said that I preferred by phone as I didnt want to share my email address. The person advised that someone would contact me.

A technician called me approx 2 hs after. I explained what I was looking for. He said that he doesnt recommend google nest and usually gets rid of them (totally fine, it is his opinion). I asked more about it and he said he has a lot of issues with it etc. But then he went on saying that if I knew you I could even do it but I dont know what equipment you have in your house. I told him he could come and take a look.

That's when he said I dont know if I want to even take a look to be honest, since you didnt even want to tell my assistant where you lived. I told him he was wrong, what i didnt want to give is my email address as i preferred to be contacted by phone. He insisted that was not what his assistant had said. I told him i had no reason to lie and i honestly didnt know what to say...

In summary: HORRIBLE ATTITUDE. The guy called me liar even when i said it could have been a misunderstanding.

NEVER AGAIN, stay away.
