Rooter-Man Plumbers

My parent called Rooter-Man Plumbing in Incline Village, they were without water and they were there in 20 minutes from the call.   They fixed the problem promptly and then as he was on his way out filling out forms, they found a leak in the bathroom, and he said he would fix the leak there as well.  So they guy went to get more parts, fixed the sink and they were all fixed in no time.  Great service, great price.

Our toilet broke on a Saturday. We called a bunch of plumbers and left messages. Rooter man answered the phone and scheduled a technician for that afternoon. Rory the technician was great did a patch job on the toilet so it worked and scheduled a toilet replacement for the following Monday. Monday Rory did not arrive as scheduled. Unfortunately you can not contact the technician directly but have to call the dispatcher. The dispatcher was rude when I called and asked for an explanation as to what was happening with my appointment. Rory eventually called and rescheduled for the next day at 9:30 AM. An hour after Rory was scheduled to arrive on Tuesday and with no call I call the dispatcher and he told me my technician would be there and that I should grab a cup of coffee. That was it. Rory showed up at 11:30 AM and did a very nice job installing the toilet. So the communication is terrible but the work is good. When scheduling with this company allow a lot of extra time and bring your patience.

Showed up with in about an hour. Daniel was personable and professional. Not cheep but got it done.

Our toilets were getting clogged.  Suzy answered the phone almost at first ring.  Daniel came on time, within three hours.  He was helpful, knowledgeable and professional.  We also asked him if we needed to snake the pipes all the way to the mains.  He checked with camera and it was not necessary.  The prices were reasonable.  Could not be more satisfied.

Promised they would go out to look at a job then acted as if it was my fault when I called ask for the bid 2 days later. They wanted money up front prior to even looking at the job.
Wow I can understand charging a fee to look at the job as everyone should be paid in case they do not get the job but a % even before you look at the job seems unethical. Lived in Truckee all my life and in real estate for 17 years. Wow. Bad business I will spread the word.

Terrible experience and I never hired them to clear a drain line.  Called on a Saturday, was advised of a $125 call out fee, decided to wait until Monday as there was no emergency. Called Monday and was advised of a $225 call out fee because of the storm.
I understand the weekend fee for overtime, but an out of the world $225 to leave the office in a storm?
Also, they required a credit card authorization form prior to setting an appointment.  Not good to penalize current customers for previous customers bad behavior.
Business is opportunistic and unethical.  Will encourage anyone to call Roto Rooter in Reno.  No charge for travel and very good people to have work at your home.

i was having problems  with my plumbing. kenny arrived and was very professional and got the issue resolved. kenny diagnosed my problem fast  and he knew just what to do. my problem was a block in the main sewer line of the property that I live on . kenny was also willing to talk to the man who owns the property and let him know where the problem  was  so that i did not get stuck with the bill.i will call rooter man and request kenny for any future plumbing needs, i will also recommend them to friends and family.

Rory Harms was great, he was kind, knowledgeable & diagnosed the issues with my sewer line. He explained the issue & showed me the photos taken by his camera of my line. He offered great advice & I will definitely use this company in the future.

Paid nearly $1000 for guaranteed unclogging of our drain. They refused to go through toilet and went through a tiny drain in bathroom sink instead. They never finished the job, but kept the money anyway. We then paid another company half that and they unclogged by going through the toilet drain with no problems. Rooter man is a rip off. In addition to stealing from us, the manager/owner's son was the meanest and most unprofessional person we've ever done business with. I recorded our conversation on video and when I have time I will post for others to see the level of disrespect and immaturity this manager showed.

September 2018: after a long frustrating effort to clear a clogged sink (standing water) on a 3rd floor bathroom sink, I called Rooter-Man and Brad came out (within an hour and a half on a Friday), found and cleared the clog. It was not easy to do; in fact, it was a tricky fix, since this was an old building and finding the correct 1.5 drain pipe after it took some bends was a big pain. But this was our main bathroom, and it needed to get done. The family is very happy to have the sink working again -- no more washing of hands in the bathtub. In summary: a great job from the company and the resulting charge was, in my mind, reasonable and appropriate (for dispatch+labor+tools). You'd expect this, but I'm also happy that Brad took care in trying to keep the area clean and not track muddy water around after removing traps and doing the snaking (again this was on the 3rd floor and there were steps and carpets between the bathroom and street). Finally, I like that this is a local Northern Tahoe company, not a chain, and the personnel and attitudes are what we all want from companies working in this area. I recommend them.

We had clogged kitchen sink / drain line.  They came out and gave a quote to clear it out, regardless of the time it might take. Took care of the clog and all is running great again!

I discovered we had a plumbing emergency in our Cabin on a Sunday morning which caused a major burden to our elderly parents who traveled great distances to stay with us.  Ralph and his team called us back immediately after placing a call and had someone out to repair out issue within hours.

Turned out the issue I had was covered through my home warranty, however it took a ton of coordination between Ralph (Rooter-Man) and our warranty company.

Ralph spent his time with multiple phone calls over several days working through the warranty company's red tape and helped us get back a reimbursement.  

I would highly recommend them for your job, Ralph was extremely service oriented.

I called late in the day for some help with a couple of clogged toilets in our 70 year old cabin near Tahoe City. Dan arrived in about 30 minutes and figured it out in no  time. My family is so grateful.

Dino came to help us with our septic clog almost immediately.  He was wonderful and kind.  I throughly recommend him.

Ralph owns the company and Kenny did some very solid work for us recently. They were able to trace and locate where our primary and secondary drainage lines ran, where the clog was and fix it. Yard was so clean after that it was hard to tell where they had done the work - much appreciated.

Very competent, not inexpensive as sewage problems seem to be these days, but they did come quickly and competently. Thanks Ralph!

We have cabin at Donner Lake, about 3 weeks ago our toilet backed up. I called Rooterman , Truckee, they are the best!   They sent Daniel Smith out to our cabin , our cabin was built in 1950's, so did not know where clean out was. Daniel had to pull toilet and cleared line, during this time we could hear underground, and found the clean out.
We dug around and found it and to our surprise there was a bottle stuck in the top with a message in it !!
The message was from 1974, from the people that built our cabin and were friends with our neighbors.
Daniel Smith was so great and professional,  I would highly recommend Rooterman.   They do all kinds of plumbing work , I will be calling them to change a water valve .

After another company (Roto-Rooter) failed to clear my drain and gave up (after charging me $270), I called Rooter-Man who showed up the same day.  The tech, Daniel, quickly cleared the drain.  Rooter-Man cost a little more than the others, but actually got the job done!

I had a major water leak at one of my rental properties so I was in need of a plumber. I called a couple other companies that told me I needed a leak detection and that I should call Rooter Man Plumbing. So I called Rooter Man and they had a technician at my house later that day. The man was professional and very friendly. He had the situation handled and fixed my water leak. I couldn't be happier to find this company so knowledgeable. I highly recommend this company for others looking for top quality work.

Absolutely the rudest business man we have ever dealt with.  We scheduled an appointment, a technician who was pleasant called to reschedule.  We were good with change as we were making special trip up to have septic cleaned out.  As we are driving up another man called to reschedule the rescheduled appointment. My husband said we were making special trip and it had to be today or our original appointment tomorrow.  He became rude asking my husband why he needed to be there, did he like to see s$&t get pumped.  My husband said we wanted to be there to pay him and to make sure service was done and he became belligerent and offensive, because we wanted to be there when service is done.  At that point my husband did get offensive back, after asking him what kind of business man he was to be treating a potential customer that way.  It went down hill from there.  Needless to say, we will not ever use this business nor will we ever tell anyone to use it!  Find someone else!

Our sewer pump died on a Tuesday night. I called Rooter-Man Wednesday morning and they sent Daniel out by 12:00 noon. They were knowledgeable,
professional, and fast. They pumped and serviced the tank, ordered the part and had the job completed the next day as promised! Totally satisfied with them.

Rooter man has been excellent for me with my pipe issues. During an emergency last winter Ryan came out the very next day. Thank goodness! Recently Ryan came out to finish the second half of the job and gave me excellent service and advice. He was prompt, hardworking and knowledgeable.

Daniel the technician was great. Very nice and efficient replacing our garbage disposal. Arrived on time with mask and was very clean and efficient. Only issue is that they are a bit pricey but as with everything you get what you pay for

STOKED! As good as it gets, Rooter Man came in and fixed my septic tank and even gave me help and advice in how to make the repair cheaper. Great service, timely and affordable. I would recommend this business to anyone needing septic or sewer services. Good family run business you can trust.

We've used Rooterman quite a few times lately for our rental homes and they have been very responsive, professional, wear masks, and each task was completed same or next day. Highly recommend!

Ryan came out (on time, btw) to pump our septic and do some maintenance for us.  He was very good at explaining everything that needed to be done plus some general education about how the system works and things to keep in mind for the future. Very knowledgeable and professional.  Would definitely recommend them!

We had to repair a broken sewer line which was quite a task they took care of all the digging the permits talking to the city and everything that was necessary.

I have had them out to my house for two emergencies on the same day when no plumber in Tahoe was even answering their phone! Rooter man's people were professional, fair and quick. I would highly recommend! Rory was amazing and was forthcoming with everything. They made my emergency a more palateable one. Thank you, rooter man!!!

Not sure!??? I called in the AM for what was an issue with our sewer line. Not an emergency, but I wanted to see about getting a hydro flush and possible camera scope of the sewer line as we had some clogging in the winter. They showed up within the hour and quickly gave me a quote. He was a very nice guy but he threw so many numbers out at me that my head was spinning. Then another guy showed up and two of them were running the hydro jet and camera. We did not have any roots in the line and it did not seem like a major clog. Again, we were not having any backing up of the lines or any kind of emergency. Four hours later I was handed a bill for $2,125.00!!!!!! I was so shocked I was not sure what to do. I wrote a check and now regret not asking more questions or being more proactive. I have lived in Truckee 25 years and have always had good luck with business in our area, but I am SERIOUSLY second guessing this one!

Robert and the 3 of his technicians who we had do work for us, run a top notch operation at rooter man in South Lake Tahoe! We own a small motel in South Lake which is an older property that we have been remodeling. As you might imagine, this type of property is prone to various drain and plumbing issues. Being a motel, the important issues to us are prompt and reliable service, professional, friendly and trust worthy attitude towards our staff and guests, and of course, pricing and value needed in any small business. Robert and his crew have nailed it!! I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of sewer or plumbing service.

We had a plumbing issue which left our only toilet and shower unusable. We called Rooter-Man and they came out same day within a couple of hours. Ryan was incredibly professional, clean, respectful and friendly!! He even closed the back gate on his way out...not many contractors would have. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Ryan fixed the issue quickly, we highly recommend Rooter-Man and Ryan in particular!

Very good. On time, cleaned 150' of line, showed me on camera what was going on, gave me suggestions for fixes. I highly recommend them.

I agreed to pay a hefty overtime charge to clear some drain roots as I was not in the area during this episode so had to communicate by phone. $ 735 for 10-minutes work but it was a Saturday so my complaint is not about being ripped off but to let the general public know you will be gouged.  The plumber who did the work, Daniel I think was courteous enough and cleared the roots. I made the mistake of asking the owner for an Invoice and an explanation of the issue so I could seek a professional to fix it correctly.  The owner on the other hand is incompetent, rude and unorganized.  Not the qualities you should be seeking in a professional business.  He will not produce an Invoice and hung up on me the 5th time I called in 6-weeks whining he was too busy for petty requests like mine.  He could benefit by a Business for Dummies course.  I would suggest not using this company. There are many other reliable and responsive professional plumbers in the area such as Mackinaw Plumbing.

These Guys are the biggest rip off I have seen --and I was a general contractor for 40 years.  They charge us 5 times what another contractor said  he would have. and I agree with -Pat J's -review ,my interaction with this company was also horrible and frightening. do yourself a favor and find someone else.

Ryan and Kevin are amazing!!! They worked incredibly fast, and were so great at explaining what we needed to fix. We also really appreciated how they left the yard looking better than it did before, such attention to detail! We will be recommending Rooter-Man to everyone we know. We are so happy to have a company we can count on here in Truckee!

Rory from Rooter Man came out the same day that I called even though it was late in the day to unclog my drains. He was very professional and efficient. He also gave me some great tips on maintaining my drains in good condition.

Rory came to our house to check on a leaky shower.  He came out within 2 hours of my calling, and came up with a repair plan.  He followed through with the landlord immediately and put my mind to ease with this nightmare of scheduling with various other plumbers.  He was professional and personable and I would feel comfortable with him coming over anytime, whether we are home or not.  He was great with our dogs, and was a really great guy all around. I would highly recommend this company and Rory in particular!

Service call/rates based on which way the wind blows. Not professional at all over the phone. Treated me like a tourist, resident for 35 years. Yes, it snows where I live.

I WOULD NEVER HIRE ROOTER MAN!! THEY ARE INCONSIDERATE AND ENTIRELY UNRELIABLE!! MThere are plenty of options in the area, do yourself a favor and call a different plumber. We woke-up to frozen pipes with a house full of young kids. I called Rooter Man at 10:30am, and was told they would have a plumber at our house in the next hour - hour and a half. We delayed the plan for skiing to ensure we were at the house when they arrived. They did not show up, and did not call to let us know they would be late. Finally, I reached them at 2pm. They indicated they were very busy, but would be there in the next hour - hour and a half. No call to let us know status, at 4:30pm we called again and were told I'm finishing up and will be there within 30 minutes. No call to let us know status, at 6pm we called again. This time, was told sorry we can't get there tonight, but how about 8-8:30am tomorrow. I explained that we had been waiting for them since 10:30am, they had repeatedly committed to getting here so we trashed our entire day, they never provided an honest commitment of when they would be here, they waited 7.5 hours to tell us they wouldn't come until the next day, we had no water and kids in the house, and they commit in their ad to 24 hr service. The response was I'm sorry but we got busy and couldn't get over there. He was EXTREMELY INCONSIDERATE and continually expressed the fact that they couldn't come. If they were considerate, I could have called another plumber at 10:30am or 2pm or 4:30pm but they were NOT HONEST. I have paid them $2,500 for work in past and that was dismissed.  The end result is that I got a reliable plumber and paid overtime rates to have a simple job done. I could have done this it 8 hrs earlier for less money and less frustration but ROOTER MAN IS NOT HONEST...AND EXTREMELY INCONSIDERATE!!

They responded quickly.  It took one hour to return my call, another hour for the technician to arrive and less than a hour to unclog the sewer.
Cons
Dishonest worker.  He took a brief look at the sewer and estimated the work costs over $500.  He told me that's just how much it costs.  It was about 2 p.m.  I didn't want to waste time for another plumber.  So I hired him for the job.  Then I found out the camera inspection should be optional.
Bad Customer Service.  I asked the Customer Rep to mail the receipt because the one the technician texted me is unreadable.  Four weeks later, I still have not receive it.  After you collected $515 from me, you couldn't send me a receipt for 55¢ postage!

I can't say enough good things about Ryan and Rooter Man. We live in an old Tahoe house and have had tons of issues with our old piping. Rooter Man has always come to the rescue! For our last job, Ryan was a HUGE help! He made the time to thoroughly inspect everything- even under the house. He's a creative problem solver who was able to diagnose the root cause of our problem and come up with a solution that fixed our problem for good and didn't break the bank. He and Richie worked extremely hard and were also very friendly, trustworthy and easy to work with. There are a lot of unreliable plumbers in Tahoe, so if you have an issue, you have to call Rooter Man right away - you won't be disappointed! Thank you Ryan and Richie!

These guys were extremely competent, professional, and courteous from the start.  I needed an extensive sewer line repair that took several days.  Ryan and Dan always informed me as to when they would be arriving, arrived on time, took time to answer all of my questions, and always left the site clean, buttoned-up and safe.  When the job required partial removal of a deck, they took painstaking efforts to put it back together so well that it looks like new again.  Can't recommend them highly enough.  Thanks, guys.

A successful business is a company that employs employees that provide excellent customer service ,expertise knowledge and integrity and Rooter Man is such a company. The following is a prime example.
About 3 weeks ago clearly what he was doing and coo I had a back up problem in my sewer system, I called early in the morning explained my problem and they said they would send someone out that afternoon, they did. Ryan showed up accessed the problem , clearly explained how he was taking care of the immediate problem. He informed me that tree roots were the main cause and would need a more powerful machine to correctly fixed the problem and then be able to access any further way to fix the problem correctly. He came back a week later and did so saw what needed to be done and suggested the way to go. I agreed and the other day came back with another employee named Ritchie, They efficiently began the work found a problem corrected it immediately and left me completely satisfied. Ryan and Ritchie provided excellent customer service, expertise work knowledge, and integrity. Especially Ryan since he was the one was involved from the very beginning , who had all 3 qualities more importantly the last one, INTEGRITY.
In closing  Rooter Man  a company that continues employ employees like Ryan and Ritchie when u experience sewer , septic problems they will be the only company you search out and employ to fix such problems.

Great service, found the problem right away!  Had a clogged shower drain, they quickly unclogged and added an agent that prevents soap scum buildup.  Glad that they wore Covid masks and show protectors!

We called this afternoon with a major septic backup. They came within a couple hours, climbed in the tank and freed up the pump. Guided us as what our next steps are professionally. Ryan saved us at 7pm in the evening. Thank you Ryan and Rooter-Man!!!
Don't call anyone else.

We have used Rooter-man twice in recents months.  Once to have a drain  unclogged only to find broken pipers and  and another to repair a split pipe which caused major flooding.     In both incidents they immediately responded to our calls. Other plumbers we tried calling either couldn't come or didn't even return calls.   In both cases Ryan came out.   He explained our problems and took care of them in a speedy and professional manner and did an excellent job.   He actually worked diligently for several days .  I can not compliment him enough.   He is one of the best plumbers we have ever had.  
My only complaint comes with the dispatcher named Richard  (think he works in the evenings).   He was the most rude, arrogant  and disrespectful person.  Unfortunately there is no way to avoid going through a dispatcher.  
In spite of that, I highly recommend Rooter Man for your plumbing needs.

Only call this company if you want to be gouged. 18 months ago I had a clogged sewer line at my house in South Lake Tahoe. I called Rooter-Man Plumbers. They sent a technician out who unclogged my line. The service was good and the charges were reasonable. Last week, my sewer line backed up again. I again called Rooter-Man Plumbers. The technician came out, asked me some questions about my line and then became a little fidgety. He started to ask whether I knew or not what was happening in Tahoe due to the pandemic and fire, the blurted out a price of $650 to clear my line. I told him absolutely not, he had me sign some paper stating that I was declining service and left. I called Lake Tahoe Plumbing. They were able to come out the next day, cleared my line and charged me $220. It clear that this company is trying leverage the dual tragedies of the Pandemic and the fire. Do not be screwed by them!

Jesse and Ken were awesome! Took care of our clog quick and they were very friendly.

Wow these guys were great! Received excellent service for my place here in Truckee after asking my neighbors for plumber recommendations. They are caring and professional, had them take a look at some other potential problems when they came out to take care of my back up issues and gave me some great advice. I would highly recommend this company. Keep up the good work Rooter-Man!!

So thankful for Rooter-Man! Late last night we heard water leak sounds and discovered pipes were leaking underneath the house. The next morning we were put in a queue and Rooter-Man sent out Daniel in a very timely fashion. Daniel was quick to find the issue and resolved it in no time. Additionally, he noticed the fill valve was broken in the downstairs toilet, found a replacement piece in his equipment, and once again saved the day replacing the broken part. Thank you again, we appreciate the great service (professional, courteous, and fast acting) and the clean repair.

Wonderful service!  We had no hot water and they arrived in less than an hour, fixed the issue and saved the day - more like saved the week!  I wish I had known about this company 20 years ago when we bought the house.  Another company might have tried to tell us the issue was irreparable and that we needed a new water heater but not this company.  They were professional and HONEST! When we do need to replace the water heater, we will be using them.  Best service ever!

I had a GREAT experience with the guys at Rooter-Man Plumbing. I called around 12:30pm with an emergency call to make sure I did not have a gas leak. They were there within the hour and checked everything out. Everyone I talked to was so experienced and detailed in their response to me. We recently had a bear break into both the main house and the guest house and they let me know the bear that had entered and turned the water on and that caused the water heater to work super hard for about a month. This caused the garage to smell like gas. They informed me we need a new water heater but let me know it can wait till after my guests depart from the home on Sunday . My overall experience was 5 star. Intelligent people with accurate knowledge of what they are doing. I will absolutely be using this company for the rest of the vacation rentals I manage in the area.

Our septic backed up evidently due to the huge snow/rain this year. Rooter-Man cleared the blockage and was helpful finding the tank under the snow and digging out the access ports. The tank was full to the top with water. He pumped it out but the tank immediately filled up again due to the high ground water table. He suggested to my wife that he come back and pump it again. This made no sense to me as the tank would just fill again with ground water, so I did not have him come back.

Rooterman in Incline Village,NV came and worked at our condo complex today. Onsite plumber was Dan Smith. Great guy, fast, efficient, knowledgable. Everything you want to get the job done right. Have used them in the past and worked with Jesse and Kenny and was very happy then too.  I wouldn't hesitate to use again.

What a con man Jesse is!!!!

We knew the 2 inch drain line was leaking under the house in Tahoe City.
My pretty blond wife wanted to take care of it...so she called and Jesse came out.
Went under the house, called it an emergency!
It would be $900 to repair the leak and another $7,300 to clean up the deadly hazardous waste and mold.
I KID YOU NOT!

$8,200 estimate to repair a leak!

Mind you he could do it all then and there in just a few hours.

Upon hearing him scared the crap out of my gal....I came down the stairs and (my goodness I showed great restraint) requested he leave.

He insisted on $175 for the estimate.

A local plumber..Tahoe's Best Plumbing (Leslie) came out ... repaired the leak, took pictures, and explained the situation...all for $175. COMPLETE!

She showed numerous before and after photos.
No waste  No mold  (doesn't happen in Tahoe...)

Jesse is a CON MAN....the was no waste, no mold...and the repair took 5 minutes TOTAL.

I had our septic system overflow into bathtub, while I was in there! I can't even begin to tell you how awful that was, and having major surgery two weeks before, I moved quicker than I ever had.
Freaked out with everything overflowing in my bathroom, I tried calling a few locals and was told nobody could get out till neck week?! ‍ So I called Rooter Man and Ryan was out within hour and thirty minutes.
Ryan unclogged the line and returned following day, to pump and assess our problem. Which there is a problem broken line, roots and he could not access our leach line tank due to the cover condition. Ryan kept me in the loop with everything he was doing. Rooter Man/ Ryan really came through for us. I would highly recommend them for any of your plumbing and septic needs. Two thumbs up

Dan Smith was very professional, efficient and more importantly, knows plumbing and was able to help us resolve our issue quickly.

12/26 update: I received a call that we have no hot water at our house and I'm currently working. I called to see if they could send someone over to look at our hot water heater. No one could lookup our last transaction unless I had an invoice number or date. Come on- it's almost 2020 and you can't look up the work done from over the summer

Rooter-man, sent out Ken, to give me a quote. I explained in detail the work to be done on the telephone to the person that dispatched Ken.
Scope of work:  Extend or add an additional water line to already existing bathroom that has one sink, now going to two sinks. The Sheetrock is off the wall exposing the area to work. The new cabinet is stand alone & has the two sinks in the cabinet.  All that is needed is the addition of a water line & drain pipes to the new sink.  Ken felt this job would take 2 days at $3,360.00.  OUTRAGEOUS.    Consumer beware!

Jesse was very professional and helpful, came right on time, got to work, knew how to handle our stuffed up pipes that were backing into our shower!  We needed to clear the pipes to break the blockage in addition to cleaning them, extra service with high pressure water to break up the all the crud throughout the pipes.  He checked our line out to the the main under the street and it was clear.  He had the equipment to do all that.  Also help with small leak under the sink, did not charge us for that.

Had a clogged toilet and called Rooter-Man that night. Daniel showed up the next morning wearing a mask.  He was able to get the toilet unclogged and left the work area neat and clean.  Also he answered all my questions. Appreciated the great service!  Thank you.

I maintain county buildings and we have used them for sewer back ups, sewer root cutting clean outs and leak detection. They did an excellent job every time!

Terrible service. We had family staying at our Truckee home. They responded to my call on a Sunday and talked me out of the extra $90 charge for weekend service, insisting they would be there at 8am Monday morning. They finally arrived at 12:30, fixed the valve that was leaking, called for payment and left. When my family arrived that evening, still no hot water. Zero follow through. All kinds of excuses.

Daniel at Rooter-Man did an excellent job. Arrived when promised and fixed the problem quickly. He explained what he needed to do before and after.  I highly recommend Daniel and Rooter-Man.

I can't give enough praise to this awesome crew. We had plumbing issues for over year and had two other plumbers come out who didn't have the experience or proper equipment to get it solved for good. Finally got to a point where our toilet backed up in our shower that would take half a day to drain and couldn't use our toilet for days. Tried some other plumbers but nobody would come, and if you've dealt with Tahoe plumbers you know they love flaking, or if they're good are unavailable for weeks. Daniel came promptly and was able to diagnose our issue (roots in the mainline) and get the line cleared. He provided several solutions and we decided to solve it for good. They did a trenchless mainline repair in our original 60 year old line. Daniel constantly communicated time tables and was there exactly when he stated. As a bonus, we had another leak in our bathroom that he was able to repair and fix a loose vent pipe that had been causing a smell in our kitchen for some time. They have been one the best Tahoe companies to work with and highly recommend them to anyone with plumbing issues

I previously posted a review which was not a positive one about the lack of response I got after the initial visit. And the rude guy (after reading other reviews, likely the owner Ralph) who yelled and hung up on me and canceled my contract. He even emailed me that he canceled it so I have proof. Guess what? Two weeks later they charged my credit card $837 for NO work performed. Now it's gone from simply poor customer service to extremely shady business practices.   I can't imagine how they remain in business. Daniel, who initially came out, was very nice and I have no complaints against him. An investigation is pending.

Do NOT go with Rooter-Man Truckee. We had an issue in July and they were fine enough. They got someone out fairly quickly to deal with the Sump Pump. They dealt with the clogging and cleaning. It was thousands of dollars. We then paid more thousands of dollars for them to come at a later point and fix the actual issue.

Our alarm went off yesterday evening. We called and it was a very frustrating conversation. They said that if we wanted to use the guarantee/warrantee from the work we would have to wait until Monday. We said fine, we will pay, send someone.

We waited until 11:10 Sunday morning and called. And they said we hadn't want to pay the overtime. We said that we specially had. He interpreted something I said as super rude, and got on a very high horse and wouldn't even accept an apology (that I didn't even mean - I just wanted to move on).

He had also been rude and difficult last night (Saturday early evening).

Anyways - if you are looking for good customer service, never go with these guys.

We are going with a different plumber and it will likely cost more since their will not be a warranty - but it will be worth it to never have to deal with these people again.

I had a water leak occur in my house while I was out of town.  I had the water shut off til I could return and deal with the issue.  I phoned numerous plumbing businesses, most did not answer the phone.  Rooter Man answered at 0730 a.m. and set up an appointment later in the day.  Jessie and Ken showed up on time and had the problem taken care of shortly thereafter.   I really appreciate the prompt service and these two were very nice and professional, explaining everything.  I will definitely use this company again as they are truly full service.

Worst customer service ever. Operator (Who I think is the owner, Ralph) was unbearably rude, never sent technician when promised and is a price-gouger.  Said people from 408 / 415 are Cry Babies. Never finished the job; hung up on me after THE 5TH SERVICE CALL AND $2,800+ in charges and told me to fix it myself. NEVER USE ROOTER-MAN PLUMBING!!!  So glad I used Amex and Ralph (Jacknut) got NADA for the crap job he did and jerk he is!!!!  Called another company and they were awesome and fixed it same- day.

I had to wait some time to leave this review just for my own safety, as my interaction with this company was so, so horrible.  The way they treated me frightened me that I still fear they will retaliate.  DO NOT work with this company. They hate people who aren't locals. These people are thugs and cannot be trusted.

My day started out with a HUGE sewer back-up, on a Sunday, of course! So happy I called Rooter Man. The service technician, Daniel, showed up within the hour. He was polite, professional & really knew his stuff. My house is a confusing, funky mixture of old & new and I have no idea where to begin when something goes wrong. Daniel knew exactly where to look & how to diagnose the problem. He figured it out quickly & fixed the issue for a very fair & reasonable charge. I will never call anyone else!

Jessie and Ken showed up the same day of my call. Had a deep deep clog in bathroom sink in our older Tahoe home. They really had a time of it getting it clear. We had been trying every trick for over a month. They were great. And to get someone on the same day! Wow, now that is service. Also this posting is during the Covid Virus. They both had masks on throughout the process which was so appreciated and we felt more secure. Also gave us a natural enzyme treatment with anti bacterial for our old pipes.

I was in a pinch with a backed up sink and Rooter-man came to the rescue and even offered to come out same day. I worked with both Dan and Ryan and they did an excellent job. They were fast, efficient, and even gave me advice on how to better manage some of the legacy buildup caused by old pipes and plumbing. I will 100% call them again if I am ever in need of any future plumbing needs!

Our six year old put a toy down the toilet in the middle of our vacation. They came out and fixed it even thought it was a hard job. Good professionals.

Our kitchen sink and dishwasher drain was overflowing from a deep blockage I didn't have the tools to clear.  Daniel came same day, cleaned it out and tidied everything up.  Friendly, fast and efficient service.  Highly recommended!

I did not take the negative reviews in regards to this company seriously. Please learn from mistakes. This company stole my money (as they charged me but didn't do any work), cursed me out on the phone, and threatened me. Yes this company will threaten you, curse you out and steal your money. LOOK ELSEWHWRE

Cant say enough about what great service Jesse and Rooter-man plumbers provided. The sewer line at the house I rent was backed up and overflowing into our basement out of an improperly installed drain. Jesse came out the same day as I called and showed up with a mask on. He got right under  the house which was really gross and quickly diagnosed the problems and had the parts to fix it. Will definitely be using them for our future plumbing needs.

Just bought a house and of course the kitchen sink clogged on day 3.  Ryan came out on a Saturday as requested, giving me 30 minutes notice of arrival so I could run to town first.  He explained what needed to be done, quickly and efficiently unclogged the drain, provided advice on how to avoid it in the future.  Taking one star away because price was unclear on the phone.  I was told it was a $75 charge because it was Saturday (and would be cheaper on Monday), but it turned out to be a $75 premium to come on Saturday, plus the standard charge of $235.  But hey, my sink drains now.

We had what we thought was just a clogged toilet, backing up into the shower and on the floor. Yuck. Daniel came out in less than an hour, and after a lot of work found a piece of wood in our line. Problem solved. Daniel was terrific

We had a clog in our house plumbing in SLT and called for a plumber. They were able to get out quickly which was great.  The first visit, they couldn't tell us what was wrong but auger'd the toilet and left, knowing it was still clogged, and charged us $175 for the service.  They recommended they come back and take off the toilet to put a camera down since they couldn't find a clean out to assess the problem, and that they'd replace the toilet as well since it was off, thinking it was old and potentially troublesome, all for about $1k, but would credit half the initial service call if we did the service.  We said we'd remove and replace ourself to save money so they could access.

Up against the wall with guests checking in within 24hrs, we agreed to have them continue service for another $350 camera inspection after we removed the toilet, and they confirmed we had no clean out, and found the clog location. They found roots in the pipe.  Now we're over $500 for essentially a snaked pipe with a camera, and about 30-60mins work. But we know what's wrong and the fix that's needed, which was good.  The bad news, they wanted another $2600 to clip the line and install the clean out to fix it, and needed to dig down a foot or so under the deck (no snow) to access the pipe.  

This cost was shock, so I called around and talked to other plumbers in the area that mentioned this service was likely a $350-500 job, plus the $300 permit, which included the $65 in parts needed.  We asked Rooterman to tell us the location of the clog, which I figured we paid for in the $500, but they refused to tell us, forcing us to use them or pay again for the diagnosis with another plumber.  They knew we had guests coming in 3 hrs, and unfortunately, we couldn't find someone to come out on short notice, so we agreed to move forward knowing we were being charged through the nose.  They did agree to come down a couple hundred bucks after some tough conversation which showed some compassion.

So after over $3k, we got a cleanout installed and cleared the line (but they found another root as well for later).
I will say they were very professional, sending pics of the job, good communication, and they got it done on a tight time constraint where nobody else could.  I like to think they didn't take advantage of our desperation, but at those prices it's clear we paid a huge premium for roughly 3-4 hrs of work.  If you have deep pockets and can afford it, these guys are great in the on quality and availability.

Expensive! They charge $299 PLUS a $25 trip charge to snake a drain that took literally 10 minutes! what a racket. They were also an hour late on their arrival estimate. The ad in the phone book is a full page and says Voted #1. By whom? Call anyone else.

A clogged sewer line is not the ideal way to start your Thanksgiving vacation! Our sewage lines were backing up and guests were on the way. On Sunday another local company attempted to clean our sewer with no luck.  Their equipment got stuck and we were told we had a collapsed line and needed a $4800 repair digging through our new driveway. A day later I tried Rooter Man to get a second opinion.  They called me back promptly and Dan came out the same day. Our sewer line is old but NOT collapsed. Lots and lots of roots getting in the line. Dan used a snake and a camera and after about two hours cleaned out what can only be described as a huge, dense root ball and pine cone.  Our driveway is intact and our sewer line is clear without a huge bill.  I will definitely use Rooter man for future sewer line upgrades!  They are knowledgeable, experienced and have great customer service. I even got a follow up call at the end of the day to see if we were satisfied. Thanks for your help today Dan & Ralph!

Ralph is awesome! He went out of his way on a stormy Saturday to make sure our renters plumbing issue was taken care of promptly. Ralph is a straight shooter and recommends what is best for his client. We trust and highly recommend this company and it's services. We used Rooterman last summer when our bathroom plumbing backed up. Ryan of Rooterman appeared that day and diagnosed the problem. As he worked on the blockage he kept me fully informed of his progress, as well as of short term fixes and long term fixes to our septic system, always mindful of the potential cost. I very much appreciated his suggestions. I would use Rooterman again.

Ridiculously overpriced and unprofessional. Worst experience we've ever had. Do not fall prey to these crooks! Took the cash and ran - job incomplete!

Ryan came out today right on time and did a great job pumping out our septic system, getting our pump running again and made some great suggestions to improve the performance going forward.  This is the second time I've used Rooterman and would highly recommend them.  Ryan's awesome.

Had a badly clogged kitchen sink to the point where I couldn't even use it. Rooter-Man came out to my house the same day I called and fixed the issue right away. Haven't had any problems since. Very professional and thorough - will definitely call these guys again the next time we have an issue.
