$219 to screw an anti-siphon valve on a hose bib (faucet).  $89 for the visit, 4x markup on the parts.  I called the company and the owner didn't deny the huge mark up.  His response was We have insurance and gas to pay for.  Customers always think that they pay too much.  I always think they pay too little.  Plumberman does not understand the concept of a fair price for services rendered.  They are only interested in how much they can fleece from the public.  I will take my future business elsewhere.

Avoid this contractor at all costs!

Avoid this contractor at all costs! They installed a natural gas water heater in my home which has only propane service. They have refused to install the correct water heater. They also suggested that I had falsified their invoices despite the fact that I had two cancelled checks and a statement from the home warranty company that Plumberman had been assigned the job. In addition, they committed three plumbing code violations which they refused to correct..  If you value your life and your home, you should think twice about using this company.  They have three reviews on Angie's List, and all three gave them a grade of F.  Enough said!  They are also operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection which is a consideration.

they attempted to bill me for $2000 of unauthorized work during their bankruptcy.  my advise is to avoid them at all costs and tell your friends thy same.

Plumberman is friendly at first and will do what seems to be great service, we had them do several jobs for us and were satisfied until... a year later when things started to fall apart.  We had 2 separate jobs where their new work failed, and when call about it they gave us a hard time, tried to blame us, questioned the invoices, were generally rude, and refused to take responsibility.  We have fought with them one too many times and have decided to take our business elsewhere, someplace that we know will take care of our needs.

I unfortunately had a similar experience to the other reviewer here: initially they were polite and provided good service but in retrospect they did not do a good job.  I had them put in a hot water heater and while the heater works, they used the cheapest heater out there and charged me a lot for it.  Also, I had an inspector out recently and he said that the heater was not installed in the correct way.  Basically it needed some bracing so that it would not fall over and Plumberman did not provide the required bracing.  Finally (and you could argue that this is not really Plumberman's fault) they failed to tell me about the federal tax rebate for hot water heaters.  I could have bought a much higher quality, much more efficient hot water heater for the same price.  Considering this is Plumberman's business, I feel that they should be aware of such programs and offer those programs to customers.  Certainly I would have appreciated it if they would have given me that option.
