Run!!!!!!!! Run as fast as you can from this company! Their record keeping is horrible! I used these guys to replace a wall heater in my home 2 years ago. The tech Jordan came out to diagnose and advised it would be best to replace it rather than repair it. Paid him $150 cash. And got an estimate. Decided to use them to replace the heater. 3 weeks after going to their office to pay a deposit of 1/2 the total bill. I had to call to get on the schedule! 2 days later I was on schedule. Office gal said we'll be their at 8am. I took the day off to let them have access. They didnt show up till 10am! They got old unit out and installed new unit but didnt hook it up. Told the guys If you want to come early tomorrow  it would be fine. As I work construction and am usually on the job by 7am. Again The next day 10 am they showed up. They hooked up power and gas and tried to fire it up and it didnt work. I overheard the conversation between the tech and the office gal and she was all over him about this particular job should have only taken 1 day and to hurry up and get it done!Spencer the owner showed up to show his tech how to fix a brand new out of the box heater! Next thing you know they are pounding out a preformed knock out for a vent on the back side with a screwdriver! Even after he was told to cut it out with a sawzall or grinder! The grate they put on this hole is shoddy. Then it comes time to pay the balance, which I asked about paying when I paid the deposit, they send an invoice after I requested it. And I promptly paid. Then 2 months later I get another invoice for $150! They claimed I hadn't paid the initial inspection. At the time I had the invoice carbon copy. And showed that I had paid. Office gal found what she missed hand written on the carbon copy stating it was paid! Here we are 2 years later and wouldn't you know hear comes a bill in the mail for $150! All I can say is good luck trying to charge me for a bill I've already paid! This company is a bunch of hacks!

Greg and Matt came out this morning to service my heating and air-conditioning units. They were personable, efficient, knowledgeable and honest. One of four of the heating units was not working last winter and I thought it would need replacing but it only needed a new fuse. They are coming back within the week to replace an AC unit that was tripping the breaker (bad compressor) and fix a thermostat at another home.
The staff manning the phones are also very friendly and helpful. So far, its been a pleasure to deal with the people at Desert Air:)

Matt from Desert Air was on time, big deal in my book, friendly, and extremely competent and knowledgeable. I believe we were his last call of the day and it turned out to be more complex of an issue then we thought. Matt was determined to resolve it. If all technicians at Desert Air are like Matt, I highly recommend them.

I scheduled my appointment and this company got me in very quickly.

They sent Matt W. out as the service tech. This man is so much more than a service tech! He is a teacher and a motivator. He coached other employees on their jobs while fixing my issue!

I was having air cond problems and his mind taught me so many different solutions.

My condo is aging! They are phasing my type of ac out of the picture! Matt gave me a few different options and I actually learned so much from him.

This is my first interaction with this company. If all their employees are like Matt they need to be number one for heating and air in our community.

Desert Air has been great to work with and is also one of the few oil heat service companies in the area that I know of.

I had a lot of issues with my heater this year and the team was very responsive, helpful, and fair. They even provided space heaters for my tenant when the heater was a longer fix time and it was cold in the home, and they were reasonable with charges and billing.

Everyone in the office who I've talked to is very kind and great to work with. Desert Air is now officially my go-to for all heating issues, updates and fixes... thank you!

I called and spoke with Leslie @ Desert Air. I told her the blue UV light on my furnace installed Air Scrubber was not illuminated & it was still under warranty. She promptly took some info from me & contacted their distributor of this Air Scrubber. She called me the next day & told me they had the UV Light/filter for my Air Scrubber. She asked if they could come out today & replace it. Within 1 hour service tech was here & removed & replaced it. Leslie was very professional & accommodating while being very hospitable while communicating with her. Thank you Leslie & Desert Air for your promptness & professionalism.  L. Hale

My wife and I have been doing business with Spencer at Desert air for almost 20 years. Spencer is incredibly knowledgeable on many formats. Heating, air conditioning,solar hot water, incasing sewer pipes, cleaning heater and air conditioning vents and other plumbing situations. Spencer is always friendly, punctual and informative. He has always been honest and gone out of his way to satisfy me as a customer. I would recommend Spencer and Desert air without any hesitation. He is truly professional.

Called Desert Air for a thermostat replacement and preventative maintenance on my air conditioner.  Was able to get an appointment for the following week.

Service was great and the new thermostat was replaced in no time.  The preventative maintenance was done on my AC, but since it is about 22 years old, the condenser is going out, and is irreplaceable since the AC is so old.  Desert Air was able to send me a quote that evening.

Customer Service is great, friendly, punctual, and knowledgeable.  I am getting some quotes on AC replacement, but I am sure they are comparable.

Do not use this company. They don't understand how to operate a contracting business.

They were hired to fix a heater. They made 2 trips to my apartment. The first, the tech didn't have a very common part on his truck, so he left, and left us without heat for the night. The second trip included arriving at the apartment, going to the store, getting the parts and repairing the unit.

I was billed for 2 trips and 3 hours. I have replaced the part in question, the motor mounts, myself. It took me less than an hour to do. I was out of town on this occasion and could not fix it myself. I asked them to reconsider the invoice. They should have had the part on their truck, this is a very common heater that uses a generic motor mount that is common to many other heaters throughout town. They should have had it on their truck.

It is forgivable that they didn't have it on their truck, but to charge me to go get it is not. I paid for a newbie tech to go to the job twice and spend hours getting parts, and take much longer than normal for a very simple job. Under this current billing scheme, they would be rewarded for never carrying a part on their truck. That way they could bill everybody for hours-on-end driving back and forth to the parts store. This is not how business in America works.

If you would like to pay to train someone and for him to go on a shopping spree, scenic drive, lunch break, and nose picking, this is your company! Their number is (775) 359-0656.

Greg and the Desert Air team to the rescue!  Honest, professional, and always putting their customers first.

Our AC went out over a week ago, and we had another company come out at first to take a look, and we were told we need to replace everything.  I called Desert Air to get a second bid.  Greg came out and said I can fix this, you don't need a new system.  Gave me an estimate, we scheduled another appointment for him to come out, and now our house went from 90 degrees to a comfortable 72.

We're now loyal fans of Desert Air and will recommend them to all our friends and family!

We are so impressed! We bought a house and the furnace hadn't been maintained. Greg came on time, fixed our 22 yr old furnace and told us with proper maintenance it would last a few more years. He showed us how to change the filters and gave us some recommendations for local services thar we need. Great help!

I recommend Desert Air to anyone who needs heating or A/C work. We were having heater problems at our Incline Village home. The tech, Jordan, showed up on time, was very polite and professional. He fixed our problem and made sure everything was in working order before he left. Great service and will use them again! I gave them 5 stars and would give them more if I could.

The worst experience with any in home service. These guys don't know what an appointment means. Cancellation after cancellation. Your time is not as important as theirs and if the job is too complicated they'll just make up excuses to avoid fixing it.

We discovered our water heater was broken on Friday night, we called and Spencer answered right away, offered suggestions on how to get it to stop leaking in the interim and scheduled us right away on Saturday.

Butch was here by 8am he was extremely polite and straightforward. Replaced an extremely old water heater before the weather gets below freezing tomorrow.

Highly recommend!

A year and a half ago Desert Air was hired to install a new furnace and recirc pump in our home. Funny enough, after showing up two hours late and taking all day for a simple swap, the recirc pump was never done. We let our property manager know and Desert Air was sent out begrudgingly. They wanted us to wait even though the recirc pump was actively leaking and causing damage. After who knows what was done we were told they needed to order parts. Now anyone who is in the industry knows that that is a fallacy and most often code for we need to get authorization. It took nearly two weeks before we would receive a call and get on schedule. The appointment was schedule for 2/9 with an 8:30-9:30 arrival. Well it is now 2:22 pm and no one has still shown up to my house. When I called at 12:28 pm no one knew what was going on and I was asked to be called back and when I got a call back from June she told me that the tech couldn't find my parts but had found them and would be there within an hour. I've worked in the industry for years, and have had several companies come to my house since I moved in, and I have never seen the lack of customer service that I have seen since having to work with this company.

ETA: A simple phone call from the CSR, dispatcher, or technician would have alleviated everything. My son missed an entire day of school waiting for someone to show up. No one showed up until nearly 3:00pm. Our dispatcher would have been in constant contact with our customer letting them know what was going on. If necessary rescheduling until the parts could be found. We understand that vendors lose parts or give the wrong ones. We understand that sometimes that sometimes they are broken when they are picked up. We understand that you may have to go to multiple places because one place says they have it only to not have it when you show up and you're left scrambling to find it at another place. We understand that covid has made it harder to get parts. We experience it all the time. Your tech can tell you we work for a competing company. We know the expectations and that things come up. Again, all we asked for was communication. That would have prevented all of this.

Super great! I was recommended by a friend who said all the other companies quoted $15k+ to replace their older AC system. Desert air quickly discovered that it was a simple fuse with no need to replace their system. I called regarding our Ac unit making really loud noises and they sent out Greg Denaple, a Tech Supervisor, to assess our issue within a few hours of my call.  Greg quickly assessed the issue and was able to fix our AC Unit by replacing the fan quickly at a reasonable cost.

So today, I went to DMV and got my new license plates and then drove to home depot nearby to get a screwdriver. That's when I came across two men who works for Desert Air plumbing etc. They were too kind to help me to change my plates on car and gave me two little screws to attach my license plate properly. This is what we need in this world. Help one another, and these two gentlemen did just that. Thank you again guys I think it was a Mark & Greg? My apologies I'm so bad with names. Matt came out today to diagnose a gas oven that stopped firing with inability to bake. The broiler works as does the burners. He found the broken coil that was receiving voltage and then reversed the broil - bake so the oven can bake. I bake more than broil! Very innovative fix that buys me time until I spring for a new range. As always - excellent prompt and professional service that provides peace of mind at a reasonable price. Matt was great. Call Desert Air and you'll see for yourself. Don't believe the over advertised competitors.

Our a/c went out over the weekend,.  Trying to get someone to come out right away and that would take our home warranty insurance was impossible.  Mondy am I called Desert Air (they could have come over the weekend but we did not want the overtime charges) Adam was at our house before 9am!  He replaced the motor in our furnace unit and worked with out home warranty company -- he was great!  This company did work for us before and we highly recommend them!

On January 18th, the Friday before the three day holiday, our furnace quit.  We had called NV Energy over to relight the gas furnace several days before, and although he got the furnace to work, he wasn't sure how long it would last.  It lasted three days!    We called Desert Air and within an hour, Butch, a technician came over to see what he could do to repair the furnace.  After much work and attempts, he realized that the furnace was too old to be repaired.  He then let us know that a new furnace was being readied and that it would arrive soon.  Very shortly two more technicians, Thomas and Andreas were there.  All three worked quickly to remove the old heater and install the new one, with all of its duct work, etc.  All three technicians were especially friendly, courteous, professional and diligent.  We couldn't have asked for any better technicians.  We are certainly very happy with the work, professionalism and friendly demeanor of Butch, Thomas and Andreas.  As good as it gets!!

Desert Air installed both a new furnace and connected new a/c unit in my condo this month. This condo is 46+ years old and had both originals. Desert Air (Spencer is the owner), was recommended by my association because not every a/c co. knows how to install condo wall a/c units. They have to be special ordered.
His installer Jeff did an expert, clean, thorough job on installing both. Desert Air gave me great, prompt service from the first call.   The furnace was installed within 4 days.
There was a delay in getting the a/c unit from back east but they kept me informed and fit me in as soon as the unit arrived.
Office gal Jum, was so kind and helpful as well.

A special mention for Jeff, he stayed late on the Fri. of July 4th week-end to finish my a/c install, due to its delay and the extreme heat we'd had. They'd all been working O.T. and were tired and drained.
Even so, he gave up his planned Yosemite trip with girlfriend to make sure this senior gal would have her cool air running and not have to wait a day longer.

MORE THAN a 5 star experience. Like family. Best thing a client can share in a review.

Our HVAC system was working fine but had never had a routine maintenance so I called Desert Air to come and check it out. Matt W came out and he was very professional and polite. After getting over the sticker shock (not cheap) we got into the check. Matt walked me through everything he was checking so I learned a lot about my system and what could go wrong and what to watch out for. Fortunately everything was still in good working order. Can definitely recommend Matt W and Desert Air to those who need HVAC services.

I called Desert Air yesterday afternoon (on a Saturday) understanding that the site said they were closed. I was hoping to leave a message due to the fact that our boiler was making noises and my husband said that the pressure indicator was showing almost zero. To my surprise a young man named Spencer answered. He was so kind and helpful. He was out on a call about 45 min. away and indicated that we needed to turn everything off. Spencer said that he would come by our home in the evening; however I let him know it wasn't necessary as we could wood heat our home. This young man went out of his way to make sure to come by on a Sunday morning early .... even when I didn't answer my phone to make sure that our heating issue was taken care of. Our service call was handled promptly and efficiently. The price was reasonable and honest. It is special these days to meet people that have this kind of care and integrity. Well done!

I needed a plumber for a leak and luckily, they were able to come out the same day, actually
within an hour.  Donna was very helpful in trying to get us taken care as soon as possible.
Tom came out and fixed what was needed as well as took care of another problem.  We are very happy with the service that we received and will use them again.

We love Desert Air and everyone who works for them. They were extremely efficient, easy to work with and do excellent work. We had a Heat Pump put in, all new plumbing and some additional duct work. Their pricing was competitive and they showed up when they said they would. Will definitely use them in the future.

They don't even deserve one star. These people were hired to inspect my heating system and swamp cooler in late October. The bill from them was gigantic and they quoted $100/each for pads. (you can by them for $12 at Home Depot-100% markup?) They mentioned nothing about shutting the system down for the winter, draining the lines, etc. The first cold snap, lines burst in the ceiling and flooded the house. When we called them to ask why they didn't mention this, they said Maybe we should put that on our list of recommendations. No offer to lower the bill or make amends. Terrible service and no business ethic.

I had a water heater installed  by them and it went out when called them  they came out and said the water heater was shot and need new one. and I said, but you guys installed it and it looks like it was leaking from one of the waterline straight inside. Sorry but your warranty expired in May of last year. Can't do nothing for you pretty much is what I got.WTF

Avoid this company like the plague.  I don't care how much cheaper their bid is, it just isn't worth it.  I had scheduled to have a new central AC installed (replacing an old rooftop swamp cooler) on Tuesday (6/21/16) and now it is Thursday (6/23/16) and I still have no central air, and a hole in the ceiling.  They came out Tuesday and didn't even work a full day because, and I quote we worked too long yesterday.  They came back on Wednesday, couldn't get the system to work, found out that there was a part missing, and was told they would be back out Thursday.  Well, looky here, it's Thursday and we find out they didn't even order the part, of course calling us and telling us that they wouldn't be out would be far too courteous, it wasn't until we called and asked why they were so late that they informed us.  And, patching the hole from the old swamp cooler was included in the estimate, absolutely no work has been done on that, and I'm really confused as to how a missing part for an AC has anything to do with that, but I get the sinking feeling that this weekend I'll be up on the roof patching it myself.  I'll update when they finally actually get the installation done (if they ever get the installation done, I have my doubts).
Oh, and as an added bonus, one of their techs damaged the water line to my ice maker and very graciously offered to fix it for me, if I provided the new line... yeah, so I had to pay for a new water line because their tech broke it, but apparently this was a favor to me.  I should have spent the extra money to go with Sierra Air's bid.

An update- they did finally get the AC installed, and for what it's worth, other than being a bit on the noisy side (in fairness, it's no louder than my old furnace, so at least I'm not worse off), the equipment does work well.  Though, I'll also point out that I guess as their last means of sticking it to me for having the audacity to complain at least daily that they had gone well over schedule was to leave trash in my yard.  Stay classy.

update as of 7/28/16- in the last week the blower for the unit they installed has broken twice.  So, on top of everything else, they sold us defective equipment.  Stay as far away from these shysters as possible.

My AC went out in my house. I called Desert Air after receiving them as a referral from a friend in the area. They were busy, so I had to wait a few days before they would be at my house (totally understandable). Both Adam and David came out, went directly into my attic, told me what was wrong. I had another company come out the day before and wanted to get a second opinion. The other company went outside first, changed something, came back in and the AC still didn't fire up. So I already had an idea what was wrong, but wanted to hear it from Desert Air as well. Adam and David called their parts company and ordered my part right away. After the guys left, the office called me to book the installation of the new part for the next day. Of course she said if the part doesn't come in (it was coming from Rocklin, CA), then they would reschedule. They called the following morning to let me know the part was in and Adam and David would be there during my scheduled time to install it. The guys were here, working well together and fixed the issue. My AC works again! Yay!! I would say this company  is honest and pretty reasonable with their pricing. Also, they clean up their mess after too! What more could you ask for? Thank you Adam and David for a great job and cooling my house down! I will refer you to friends! Job well done!

I knew almost immediately after having met Spencer that this was the team for me. Jum confirmed that.  They handled the project I needed to have done to keep my house in good working order for those that live here excellently. This was after doing my own due diligent research. I chose Desert Air.  I would do it again.  The office helped me find appropriate and reasonable finances and the guys worked hard to make sure that not only did the equipment work but that it also LOOKED GOOD.  They succeeded.

At least a few maniacs and psychos work at this company. They drive like crazy people with no regard for the law, particularly whoever is driving the truck with license plate 164-E75. Easily some of the worst, rudest people I've come across, and for Reno that's really saying something. Not recommended.
