Lenox Plumbing

So here's the scoop--several years ago we had another company come out and replace our pipes in our old house. They did a good job but when I asked them about some follow up work, most notably the stack drain in our home (which was beginning to rust where it takes an 90 degree turn) the guy who did the work (not the initial guy we worked with over there) quoted us a really high number for the repair and basically instilled the fear of God in us re: the job (e.g, it's going to go any minute now, it's going to take tearing apart your kitchen to get to this stack, it's going to cost a scary amount of money, etc). Needless to say, as first time homeowners my husband and I were pretty terrified and didn't have the money or the energy to deal with demos, renovations of our kitchen, etc. So we did what any normal person would do in this scenario--we ignored it!

And so we basically pretended the problem didn't exist for 2.5 years, all the while holding our breath that this thing was going to leak at any moment. Finally, I got so nervous about this that I decided to be brave and get a second opinion so I sent the awesome folks at Lenox a message here through Yelp (via the new get a quote function. Try it, it's awesome!) to just see what they had to say and through messages we set up a time today for them to come by and take a look.

I'm SO glad we did this. Chris came promptly at 1pm (we were given a window of 1-3pm) and took a look. And praise be, he told us the problem was not that bad and we had several more years in it before we really need to do it (the complete opposite of the other guy who was trying to get us to commit to a multi thousand dollar job in a matter of months). He told us he'd recommend that we wait a bit longer and replace it when we plan on doing some other home renovations (which we've been talking about doing in the next few years anyway). He said they'd be happy to do it for us if we wanted but it wasn't really necessary yet so why rush it and do demo twice if we don't need to. Basically he really put our fears at ease and gave us a more workable timeline, which made is so much less stressed about it.

What I really loved, though, was how complimentary he was about our house and how he didn't seem phased by the job itself. We've had so many contractors, plumbers, etc, give us a hard time re: our nearly century old home and complain about how much extra work these types of jobs are. The previous plumber who did the pipe replacement just moaned the entire time about the job (I'm beginning to think he didn't want to do the job which was why he made it sound so terrible). Not Chris, he loved the character within our home and seemed really supportive of making sure we do it the right way to keep the integrity of the home intact. So so grateful!

So we've decided to hold off on that job for a bit longer. But in the meantime I did ask him about a leaky faucet we have in the basement bathroom sink. He took a look and is going to email me a few quotes with two options: replacing the faucet altogether and just repairing it. We'll have them come out soon to work on it and I'll update the review once this is done but I have full confidence they'll do a great job.

I have used them a couple times now and will continue to use them. Reached out this morning and they were able to come the same day and fixed my drain problem. Very reliable and reasonably priced.

I Was quoted 1k for a job and when they got done the job was 3600, the guys left dust all over my things in the basement and upstairs. They could have at least ask me did I want to cover my stuff because there was going to be a lot of dust everywhere. Job got done hopefully it's done right, I won't do business with them again.

Had 40 gal Bradford-White hot water tank installed.. Very efficient, professional, crew provided one one one tutorial on settings and annual flushing. Left work area extremely clean.

The last time I used Lenox the communication was terrible. The guy they sent out said he needed a part, left and was never heard from again. I called the office and they contacted him at my request, acting as though they had done something way beyond the call of duty. But nothing ever came of it. I never heard back from the repairman. So, if you can get past all the ads by competitors that show up first now, above the company you're trying to read about or comment on, in this case Lenox, you might consider some of those other places and affirm Yelp's current business model.

My mom had her hot water heater break on the afternoon before a holiday weekend, and she really needed to get her hot water heater replaced or she would be out of water for the entire weekend. After contacting multiple places with no success, I was so thankful I found Lenox Plumbing to do the job.  I talked with Sandra, who was so helpful in laying out our my options and said she could find someone in the next few hours to do the job. My mom immediately got a text telling her who would be coming to the house and at what time. The technician came on time, and she said that he replaced the water heater really quickly. I'm so happy I found a new plumber to add to my list of reliable places to help out my mom. I highly recommend them if you need a last minute job.

We have had a few plumbing issues in the last couple years and have haphazardly called repair people without a good recommendation.  This resulted in future issues. This time, we actually consulted the YELP reviews and contacted Lenox.  Chris, a plumber with Lenox, came out the next day.

When Chris arrived, he was immediately polite and professional.  He kindly asked what the problem was and took a look.  He diagnosed the issue right away and gave us a couple options on repairs and the associated costs.  He started to fix the problem and it didn't take him long.  He cleaned up the area as well. Chris did a great job!  He assessed what would need to be done down the road and why, gave us an estimate as well.  

I would highly recommend Chris and Lenox for your plumbing repairs.  We will be calling on him again!

My best advice is to go elsewhere. My wife and I have been jerked around by this company for two weeks now.

Two weeks ago our main drain started backing up when we did laundry. We called Lenox, the came out and snaked it two days later and told us it was all good. 3 or 4 days after that, I'm doing laundry again for the first time and it immediately backs up again.

So, they should come out and fix it for free right? Good luck. I called them four times that day and every time they told me they would call me right back then never did. Finally I got some guy Chris on the phone this morning and he said he would have someone out between 3 and 5 today. At 4 I got a voicemail from Wesley saying he needed to reschedule and to call him back. Which I have done. Every ten minutes for the last hour. No answer.

It's bad enough they told us the fixed something when they didn't. But beiing jerked around for a week when all we want is them to come out and do the work they already said they did, makes it incredibly frustrating.

Unfortunately, we found ourselves in dire need of plumbing services. Who do you turn to? What do you do? Had no idea where to begin. I contacted Lenox on Saturday morning via the appointment schedule email and Christopher Cameron reached out to us that morning. We are very thankful that he was able to come out first thing. Our basement had flooded & we saw the awful task ahead of us. I really appreciated the call back from Christopher first thing. I also like the follow through with the eta of his arrival. The evening before we were stiffed by two other plumbers & I wanted to make sure that he was going to show. I am so happy that I schedule that appointment with Lenox. The prompt response was most appreciated and Christopher's customer service is far from expected! His communication & knowledge was excellent! We are very happy that he worked with us during this upheaval in our lives. Thanks Christopher!!! I will definitely call Lenox again. I highly recommend them!!!

Ask for a quote before have services performed. We paid $335 for 30 minutes of work and minimal material. When we called to inquire about the charges the gentleman was extremely rude and said he knew his competitors pricing and that he was fair. When we offered to bring him a quote from a competitor (which he couldn't list) to show that we were overcharged we were told that it wouldn't matter and the pricing would NOT be adjusted. We will not use Lenox again for any service.

I would suggest asking for a quote before hiring Lenox Plumbing!

This company is amazing! We have been pulling our hair out for a year since our fire. Every contractor we contacted were terrible. I found Lenox Plumbing and they were a breath of fresh air! Brian and his crew are very professional, kind and are so efficient. They got rough plumbing done in our house in three days! The quality is OUTSTANDING! They were also the lowest estimate we received. I gave a five star rating but I wish I could give more. I absolutely recommend this company.

I had to call SIX plumbers to fix my basement gas leak, and Lenox was the only one who was willing to do fair business. They are a little difficult to get ahold of; email seems to be the best way. But they came out and gave me a free estimate, and guess what? They charged me exactly what they said they would once the work was done. They pressure tested the line properly, too, with an air compressor and a pressure gauge.

Two of the other plumbers I talked to wanted me to have DTE turn the gas back on so they could test for the leak with dish soap. Um, no. I'm not going to knowingly have an active gas leak in my house for a few days while I wait for you to come out, just because you're too cheap or dumb to fix it the right way. Yet another plumber charged me $60 to come out and tell me that it would cost another $150 to tell me how much the work would actually cost because he would have to take down drywall to see everything. Still another plumber told me that they didn't do estimates, they just come out and do the work at $135/hour plus parts. Really? What if I didn't have enough money? You can't even ballpark me a figure? And the last guy didn't even show up, call, or answer his phone when I called to see what was going on after I waited for hours and he didn't show.

SO, long story short, Lenox did good work! No more gas leak! Nice guys too! Use their website to set up an appointment.

YIKES!  Cannot comment on the actual work but I did call them to replace two shut off valves on for a faucet.... They told me there would be a service charge and then $145 per valve.  

FYI- that is more than double ANY other competitor I called.But the lady I spoke to was very nice and friendly!  Still looking for a more reasonable price.

I had an issue with a rusted through kitchen waste pipe and reached out to several plumbing companies I found.

Lenox responded same day and set up an appointment for me for next day (which was best for me).  Their estimate was very good and we scheduled them to do the work 2 days later (they were available at the time of the estimate).  They also estimated for free.

They worked very quickly, were friendly, cleaned up perfect and did a great job.  I couldn't recommend anyone more than Lenox and will for sure use them if I need more plumbing I can't do myself in the future.

I called Lenox at the advice of a few friends who said they liked them . This was after calling multiple companies in the area who wanted to charge me ungodly Amounts per shower : per hour etc and never gave me a straight answer on cost prior to booking the job . Lenox sent Brian out right away to give a free estimate . Free!  Really liked Brian;  he was efficient , smart and direct . Within 20 minutes I had the quote texted and emailed to me in detail . Lenox gave us a fair price with exploration which no one else did and the same person who quoted me came back to do the job . He cleaned up well and kept me informed of everything going on through out the process .  A few weeks later one of my showers  stopped working and they again sent the same guy ASAP to fix it ( shower hadn't been used in a year and needed a new filter ) . No questions,  no money they responded as if it was an emergency . I was very happy all around and will call them for any plumbing related issues .

I called for a quote. They came out and looked at what I needed. The gentleman said he would email a quote to me in the next couple hours and confirmed me email address. That was 5 days ago.  I've since sent them an email to ask about it. And left them a voice mail.  Both went unanswered.  I left work early to be home to get the quote.  Thanks for wasting my time.

I am SO happy with Lenox Plumbing!! I just purchased a house that had not been lived in for at least a year. About two weeks after moving in, our basement drains backed up and we had some standing water in the basement. I assumed that we had caused a clog somewhere in the system and called Lenox to take a look.

Right before Chris arrived, I heard a whoosh, and the drains cleared themselves out and the water drained. Chris came down to take a look and was able to explain to me that this was not uncommon in uninhabited homes- the junk in the pipes had hardened over time without much use, and the water pressure finally forced the clog out. Chris helped me test out multiple faucets and the tub throughout the house to make sure that no backup would occur.

In addition, Chris fixed the leak under my utility sink.

In the end, Chris did not charge me for coming out, voluntarily. It meant a lot to me that Lenox Plumbing seemed to care more about building a relationship with a client as opposed to getting more money out of me. After such wonderful service, it will be Lenox that I call when we replace our water heater later on this year.

In January I called Lenox Plumbing. No one answered so I left a message. I was looking for someone to scope a sewer drain at a house I was in the process of purchasing. They did not return my call. I understand not every plumber does this, so I let it go.

In May I called and left a message. This time I requested an estimate to have two sillcocks replaced with frost-prof ones and to have four valves on copper pipe replaced.

I never heard anything back. I told them were I'm located (in their service area) and gave them my number. I find it rude that they don't return calls or have a receptionist/answering service. What if I needed immediate help or had to contact them once service was completed? I don't feel that this is a professional way to run a plumbing business.

This is my first review ever so bear that in mind. If I could give negative stars, I would. DO NOT CHOOSE LENOX.

I had them come out in August to fix my hot water heater because it wasn't heating the water up enough. I scheduled an appointment online and they followed up the next day and they came out the next week. So far so good.

The repair didn't fix anything, so I called them back early October to get them to complete the work I paid them almost $350 for. We managed to set up an appointment and whoever was supposed to come, didn't. And I didn't even get so much as a call back to reschedule. I had to call them again and they had no answer as to why they missed the appointment. Finally, a different guy came over at the end of October and confirmed that the gas control valve had been replaced by Chris and that they would fix the hot water heater free of charge since I had already paid them. He said he would order a part and it would come within a week and that they would come back and install it.

Two weeks later I haven't heard a single thing from Lenox, so I call back again (3rd time since they did the first repair) and explain that I've been waiting for someone to come install this new part. The receptionist puts me on the phone with Chris and he says that they have the part there and that they can come in two days to install it. Guess who never shows up and doesn't inform me that they would be missing the appointment!!

Since then, I have called 6 more times, some of those twice a day, and each time I call I get told the same message, We're sorry you haven't been able to get a hold of anyone but I will pass this message on to the office manager and they will call you back as soon as possible. Six times now I've been told this exact same thing. Either there is no office manager and they are just scamming people out of their money or the whole company has amnesia and can't remember to pass the message along!

The past 3 calls I have given up on asking for them to fix the problem and just asked for my money back. There is something seriously wrong with Lenox that makes them think it's OK to charge someone $350 for nothing and not even help them when they've been asking for the past 2 months for a refund or a fix.

My advice is to go somewhere else with your business because Lenox obviously does not care about the customer and the quality of their work and just want to take your money.

I called lenox plumbing a couple of weeks ago and had them replace a spigot and my hot water heater.  The customer service and knowledge of the product was outstanding.  I like to do some research usually before I commit to spending that kind of money I found that their prices were more then reasonable especially considering the great customer care and attentive attention.     I highly recommend this company's  service to anyone friends or family!!!!!

I believe this is my first less than complimentary review.

On October 14th, 2013, I requested Lenox Plumbing to come out to my home in Plymouth, MI for a leaking sink.  They came out to the house and told my tenant that they needed to order a part and would follow up.

As of today, November 4th, I have yet to receive an update and the sink is still leaking.

I did email them previously.  Today, I left a message.

I only regret that three weeks have gone by without the issue being fixed.  Understandable if a part is to be ordered, but a follow up phone call or some type of notification would have been nice.

I was excited to use their service, but unfortunately I won't be able to share a good report like the others.

I needed a new water heater immediately. Lenox Plumbing came out the same day as I called.  Brian arrived 10 minutes early. The job was done in 90 minutes. I am happy with Brian's work and the price.

We had a great first experience with Lenox Plumbing. I called to schedule the appointment on a Wednesday (after reading numerous Google and Yelp reviews) and they had an opening for us on Friday morning which was perfect. Our tech came out and fixed our toilet on the main floor and sink in the master bath relatively quickly.

We were pleased with the level of service and technical expertise, and will definitely call Lenox again!

called 7 plumbers, lenox was the only one that could come out the same day at a reasonable non emergency rate. The plumber showed up, got the job done efficiently, tidied up, and left me with a kitchen sink that drained well and no leaking pipes underneath (we had called because our kitchen sink wasn't draining despite my efforts to use the auger/snake on the drain). Reasonable rate and emailed invoice minutes after the job as complete. The only few minor things were 1) some minor scheduling communication that probably could have done easier/faster over phone than email and 2) needing to ask the plumber to take his shoes off (it'd be nice if people who worked in homes for a living used shoe covers).

Lenox Plumbing came out to look at two plumbing issues and discovered they were actually non-issues and were honest enough to tell me that.  They were very polite and considerate and did not even charge me the service fee.  Thank you, Lenox Plumbing

We have used Lenox multiple times in the past, and they have always done an excellent job.  Yesterday our water heater died on us and, once again, it was Lenox to the rescue.  Our tech was awesome.  He was polite and knowledgeable,, and had a new water heater installed quickly and efficiently.   We will definitely be using Lenox for any future plumbing issues that arise, and highly recommend them.

My experience with Lenox Plumbing was incredibly uplifting and reassuring amid an extremely stressful situation. Lenox Plumbing answered my call about a massive clog in my bathtub piping that had left my only bathtub and shower filled with black, disgusting water. They came to our home within an hour and stayed for the next four hours to meticulously and successfully fix a very complex problem. They were extremely professional, polite, thorough, and careful not to damage anything in my house. Their prices are very reasonable. I could not recommend them more enthusiastically-- they are absolutely wonderful!

I made an appointment online on weekend and a guy showed up on Wednesday as I asked. Was impressed to see a plumber arrived on time and started his job right away.

My sump pump was completely failed and needed a replacement ASAP so his quick work helped us a lot. Only thing I could ask for the better is that a thorough explanation he could have given to us before he started his work. Only thing he explained to us was the price and told us to stay relaxed.

It was a fantastic job though and I am relatively happy since he completed his job in no time and a new sump pump is working fine which keeps my basement dry.  But if he gave us what brand and model he would be installing or better yet if he gave us an option to choose from, it would have been 5 star.

While out of town, my son called and said that the floor drain in the basement had backed up and that we had a mess.  Although it was Saturday I had him call  Lennox Plumbing and ask them to come out and fix our problem.  They answered his call right away, listened to his tale of tears, and explained they were being pushed to the limit with other trouble calls and that the best they could do was schedule us between 8:00 & 10:00 that night.  When he arrived, after all ready putting in a long day, he, the plumber,  determined that the city sewer was the problem and not our drain.  What amazed me was no charge for the service call.  This man was dead tired from a long day and still made the trip out to help us and didn't charge us.  I have been listening to the political scene and this man, and the company he represents have more integrity, and honesty than either of the politicals.  

If they promised to run the country like they run their business they would have my vote.  since they arn't running I can only thank them for being there to help us when the need arises.

Honest work and reasonable pricing. Their website appointment page form and email are their main nonemergency forms of customer contact prior to the appointment.

Wes arrived at my home impressively close to 3pm in the 3-5pm block time. Everything was wrapped up by 4:30 and I couldn't have been happier. Credit card payment was accepted immediately through an app on his phone and an email receipt was sent simultaneously. Perfect!

I hope not to need a plumber again anytime soon. But, should the need arise, I'll head to their website once again and fill out the appointment form.

Our toilet needed repairing and they came  out promptly and did a great job, at fair price.

These guys are great. Several years ago water heater went out and they were able to do emergency repair. Water heater is now 11 years old and went out again, was able to get it running and repair cost was  a lot lower than what I exepected. Easy time scheduling appointment and showed up during the time window as promised. Pleasant experience overall. Will definitely use these guys when I finally do replacement!

We were having problems with a bathtub drain and called Lenox to help. They came the very same day and helped us immediately. Their technician, Wes, was friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend this business

I've used Lenox many times and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone.  The team showed up promptly after we had an issue w/ our hot water heater and gave us a fair price.  We have also used them for drain clean out and garbage disposal repairs which we are very happy with.

I have used (and recommended) Lenox NUMEROUS times. I love them and wouldn't call anyone else. Fair, honest, inexpensive and trustworthy. I've called them late at night and they've come out to my house within 30 minutes. They've been amazing every single time they've come out and you can tell they just care. I highly recommend them.

Don't Do it!!!   They will not show up, not bother to call you, and not bother to show up again, and again, and again... still waiting for parts.  They will not call.  Find another plumber!!!!

I had my first plumbing emergency and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the plumber was able to come to my house and resolve the issue.  Chris was very friendly and didn't charge me a fortune!  We would have a huge problem on our hands if he didn't arrive so quickly!  We will definitely use them in the future!

Had a frozen pipe with this last storm and called them out to have fixed. Not only where they here in the time frame they promised but they also didn't charge an emergency fee that other places have! Great service and very friendly and clean! Recommend to anyone with any sort of plumbing needs!

Presented options at estimate meeting, followed through with an e-mail (same day) with all prices for whatever option I chose. Did the job using quality materials,answered all questions I had, and warrantied the work. For me it's always a struggle hiring any type of tradesman, as stereotypes are rooted in truth, and unfortunately, too many guys out there will rip you off, show up when they feel like it; etc. Lenox Plumbing will get ALL my future business.

I have to take a few minutes and share with all of u our wonderful experience with this company. We had the pleasure of meeting Chris Cameron of Lenox Plumbing today. I gotta say, this is one of the coolest, most knowledgable, and practical tradesman I've ever met. I don't know about anyone else, but sometimes with skilled tradesman, I get the impression that they r either looking down at u bcz u don't know about that trade, or that they r setting u up for the big hit and they r trying to sell u a whole new system, when all u need is a screw here or a bolt there. Chris was neither, and proved to be quite the cool and respectful guy that wants to get things done right, and for the best possible price using only the best materials. We asked him to take a look at a few other things that the last plumber wanted to charge over a $1000 to fix, and he pretty much made clear that its an easy fix that I can do cheaply, and then proceeded to do it while I watched so that if I had the same problem in the future I could fix it myself. After picking up my jaw off the floor in amazement at how cool of an act this was, I made it clear that I would not ony be calling him for some other plumbing work I am doing, but was going to write him the best possible review I could. Excellent plumber, excellent guy, and a stand-up citizen that I would feel comfortable letting in to my home and around my family to do work for me. Highly, highly, highly recommend for his skill, attention to detail, and professional demeanor. If u r lucky enough to be in his service zone, this is the plumber u want, especially if u expect everything to be professional grade, and of the highest standard. I'm very happy to have met my new plumber for any future plumbing work. I don't know if u yelp, but Thanks Chris!!! Nice job!

Punctual, fair price , good work, what else could anyone ask for in a plumber. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

Needed gas line to new gas range and gas dryer.  They came out and gave free estimate and I thought the price was reasonable compared to other companies so they scheduled me a couple days later. They notified me in advance of time to arrive as no one was living there and arrived  within 5 minutes of time. The technician was very professional in work he did. He took a little extra time finding perfect locations for cutting hole in floor for gas line as I expressed to him that I was concerned it would interfere with stove being close to wall. Nice neat installation.  Didn't like not having someone answer phone when I called, always leave a message and they call back later. Can live with that and would use them again. Bill Novi

We came home from a weekend away to find a pond beneath our kitchen sink in our three year old Mike Miller home.  We called Lenox to check out the problem.  They not only came once to do so, but allowed us to purchase a faucet that afternoon (which we preferred to do ourselves) and came back early the next morning to get it installed for us.  They were great on the phone and great to work with in our home.  The job took less than an hour and we appreciated their efforts in getting back here the next day; unscheduled.  We won't hesitate to call them again, should we need plumbing service.  And with this house...it is very likely that we will!

I had a leak under my kitchen sink so my friend recommended these guys to me. They came out and realized my hot water value was loose and only had to tighten it down. 5 minutes later the leak was gone, and they did NOT even charge me. You can trust these guys to not oversell you. They gained a customer for life. Thank you!

Chris has done a GREAT, NEAT, FAST job with the sump pump system in my basement. He replaced my primary pump, installed a water-powered backup pump, and cleaned up everything within 5 hours. I will choose Lenox plumbing for my water heater replacement in the next year.

Prompt, professional service. Called them on Jan 6th ( one of the coldest days ever)  and arrived within an hour to fix a frozen pipe that burst in my basement. I agree with other reviewer ,I don't like calling unknown tradesman either...but I was referred to Lenox Plumbing by a friend and found the owner Mike honest and professional. I highly recommend them.

Lenox Plumbing was recommended to me by a coworker after discussing finding standing water in my basement. She suggested that I give Lenox a call since I wasn't sure if it was a problem from my hot water heater or my a/c unit. I called Lenox and was able to get someone out the same day to look in my basement (Mike). He quickly diagnosed the problem (in my a/c unit) and was able to fix it that same day. They were very prompt, professional, and gave fair prices. I would highly recommend Lenox Plumbing!

They did a great job answering our questions and installed top of the line equipment at a great price. I felt very comfortable with them in my home and would call them again and again. Service like this is so rare these days. Warrantied their work and material better than the other guys. Highly recommended - and I'm picky! Thanks guys for making the job go so well.
