This company is First Rate!  Very impressed with their Attentive and very responsive, knowledgeable staff.  They put in a new shower and hot water heater in an very timely manner, after we had an emergency situation.

We could not be happier with the results.

Run - run in another direction....we used their services one time with my mother-in-law and something did feel right.  We went with another plumber and the bill was more accurate and turns out was the real problem.  I will not list the other plumber so that everyone can do their own research.   And the BBB rating does not matter, that's a subscription service for businesses.   Just read and do your own research and watch out for their subscription service.  Tried that hard sell to mother-in-law fortunately I told my wife that's a big pass.

My husband and I had been loyal Tom Drexler customers for at least five years up until this past week. Tom Drexler installed a new heating and cooling system for us about four years ago and remodeled a bathroom a little over two years ago. When our air conditioner ceased working earlier this year, a technician was here the next day and got us up and running again.

However, when the same unit stopped working early last week, during the hottest week of the year so far, I got no help at all. I called four times, over the course of two days, trying to get a Tom Drexler technician to our house. My husband and I both cancelled appointments so that someone would be here. Meanwhile, the temperature inside our house never dropped below 83° even during the night. When it became apparent that the ladies answering my calls at Tom Drexler were not going to do anything more than make sympathetic noises and promises that would not be kept, I called another company, which sent out a technician that very evening.

We will never count on Tom Drexler again. For anything.

My experience with Drexler was horrible. It came at a bad time that my husband died ...in less than a month . My disposal was broken but my toilet was not the problem.  The plumbers were not instructed to fix the toilet when I called for repairs to the disposal.  Within 2 hours of work on the toilet water was spraying all over the floor! Now almost a month has passes my whole first floor is torn up. I want this floor fixed but I have been told so many stories every day. Tom Drexler Where were you when my floor flooded? and Now where are you?  I am very disappointed.

Bye Bye now!  They may do good work but if you use them you will pay for all their ads, tv slots, and promotions!  First, a technician walking through your front door will cost you at least $195.00!  I had two outlets that weren't working and after two hours they couldn't;t figure out the source of the problem and told me they have to run a whole new line to one of the outlets in order to fix the problem.  Cost:  $950 + $195=$1145 to repair one outlet!   Of course, I had to eat the $195 but said no thanks!  In addition, when nightfall came, I tried to turn on my lamps in the same room and found that NONE  of my outlets were working, so essentially they left me in worse shape than I was in when they came through my front door!  Price gougers!!!!

Wish ZERO stars was an option because that is the only thing these con artists deserve.

I just want to know how you all sleep at night. Tearing out an 87 year old woman's wall, changing her $2600 and saying no we don't fix the hole. Just one of hundreds of thousands of people screwed. Honestly no idea how you are still in business.

Needed work done on a toilet and two Bathroom faucets replaced and i was supplying the replacement faucets. I was told that it would cost $89 for a tech to come out to assess the work. What a got was a sales pitch on a monthly maintenance plan and a price of $572 to replace the toilet guts and a $753 price to replace th faucets. $1325+$89. What a joke! I am telling everyone I know about this experience. Found an Independent Plumber who fixed the toilet without replacing the guts $75 and will install both faucets for $300. I will leave him a glowing review. If they have big add campaigns don't walk, run because their prices will be way over market. Still ticked that I had to pay $89 for this experience.

Tom Drexler plumbing is one of the most inconsistent plumbers around.  They do not keep their appointment times and when you called them they have the same excuse, the technician got held up on another job.  They are the most expensive plumbers in Kentucky and definitely not the best.  They give you a window as to when they will show but if your job is a small job and a bigger job comes up, they will give you an excuse.  I gave them another chance to get a wrong right and it is true you can't teach an old dog a new trick.  Tom Drexler is full of what they work with!

I promise you can find better plumbers elsewhere for MUCH less. They started the quote with telling us we could sign up for a membership... I was quoted $1,100 to install a dishwasher... I had another, local guy do it for $325. Don't waste your money on these scammers.

Pipes froze and burst in the crawl space over christmas holiday. I returned home 12/26/22 and discover the issue. Call right away, soonest appointment was 12/29, which, although frustrating, was understandable because there had just been a big freeze and surely others in the area had similar issues.

12/29 comes and I wait...and wait... and wait. Eventually I call to check and they assure me plumber is still coming and it will likely be around 5pm. I call a 2nd time to make sure that once he gets here he realizes the nature and extent of the issue so that he can actually get it fixed in one go, once again I am assured there is nothing to worry about and he will be coming.

I call again around 4pm to be sure because I still havent heard anything and then I get told that he likely cannot make it today at all. I ask when should I expect him to be able to come, expecting that it would just be the following morning, but the woman on the phone tells me the earliest it can be is now a full week away, 1/5/23. I'm already ~4 days in with no running water, no shower/baths for me or kids, no dishes, no laundry, etc. etc. Been living with gallon jugs of water from Kroger for things that absolutely have to happen.

Basically I'm just frustrated that they told me they could come on 12/29, I set that appointment and then put other remedial measures on hold; I didn't call anyone else, i didn't go to a laundromat, etc etc. all because of the appointment they had for me and kept assuring me was happening, then I get told it will be a whole additional week.

Sooo...I called an HVAC guy I know and trust, he knew a plumber, got an appointment in 2 days for a significantly lower price too. Tom Drexler may be a big name that is easy to find when searching for a plumber, but you're likely better off searching around for someone else so that you dont have your time, money, and life wasted.

All that said, no one was rude to me over the phone or anything, and they were apologetic, but apologies only go so far and at some point you just need to be able to trust people are going to show up and not add an additional week of time for you to be able to bathe your kids.

I used Tom Drexler to fix a small pecks line leak at a joint. It literally took the technician 30 minutes and no more than $10 worth of equipment and they charged me $500. In my opinion that is outrageous and customers are always tried to be upsold.

Sadly, I can't. Give this business a negative star. Word to the wise: never believe anything Tom Drexler's folks tell you. Due to a broken open faucet, we had to shut the water off to the house. Because Drexler is new to Etown, we gave them a chance. Called Friday afternoon and got confirmed for Saturday. Called Saturday at 3:30 to make sure we were still good and was told we were next on the list. Got a call at 4:30 and was told the tech can't get here today (probably too late in the day and he had to go home) and the earliest we could expect someone is Monday between 8 and 8. Thanks Tom.

I was warned about Drexler and didn't listen. I had all the parts  (3 faucets and one garbage disposal). I got a competitive bid of $400 from a Mt Washington plumbing company. I thoughtvthat was too high so I called Drexler who told me they could do it for less. They sent a plumber who was at my house 4.5 hours. Drexler charged me $640.00 and oh yes, THAT WAS 20 1/2 YEARS AGO. Can you imagine what they would charge today. No way would I recommend or use Drexler under NO CIRCUMSTANCES. I'm shocked they get 5 stars on other websites. How can that be?

Save yourself time and get someone - anyone - else!!!  Customer service is a joke.  Called at 10:00 and was told someone would be out today.  Waited all day - nothing, no communication.  I called at 4:30 and was told I was the next stop.  Got a call an hour later saying they need to reschedule for the next day which I can't do.  They said someone was on the way - waited another hour and called again.  They couldn't 'find' their technician.

Complete clown show!!

I wish I would have read yelp first. Anna W. Will not help you. They left an 84 yr old woman without laundry capabilities because they got my money and ran. They are horrible people. Rude entitled and predatory. I stupidity used drexler for several years, but they have no mercy, terrible ethics. I drove to their office to talk to them. What a joke. Ripped off by drexler for the last time.

I called Tom Dexler because my tub was leaking.  Their tech was polite and friendly.  I have no complaints about the tech other than he assessed the problem and gave me an estimate of $1689. I explained that I could not afford this. I paid the charge, then called another company who came out and fixed my issue for $125. I never call this company again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company and will discourage anyone from using their services based on my experience.

I had a completely unsatisfactory appointment for plumbing service on July 1st.
I was told that someone would contact me within 24- 48 business hours.  As of today, July 11th no one has contacted me.
I used Drexler for a HVAC repair on June 20th.  On that day
I signed up for the bronze customer service plan and paid $99 for that annual plan.
I made the appointment for July 1st to have 3 toilets replaced, informing the scheduler I would be driving 2 1/2 hours from Indianapolis to be at the residence when the plumbing technician arrived. I supplied all three toilets and informed the scheduler the appointment was to install the 3 supplied toilets,

I was told by the scheduler that I could expect the technician to arrive on July 1st with a fully equipped truck, ready to complete the job.

On the day of the July 1st appointment, I arrived on site by 9:30am. the technician did not arrive until 6:15 pm.  He informed me that he would not be completing any of the work. He was just there to give an estimate. The estimate to install 3 customer supplied toilets was ridiculously high, over $1200 after the 15% bronze customer discount.  The technician said he wouldn't be able to do the job until the following Wednesday.  This would double my 5 hour round trip drive.
I declined the estimate.

We installed the toilets ourselves in 3 1/2 hours the next day.

I feel we were given. substandard service.  when the scheduler knew I would be driving 2.5 hours one way, to expect me to return for actual service is ridiculous.
The customer service plan appears to be a ruse or scam to obtain more funds from a potential customer without providing any actual service.

We had planned to use Drexler to service our condo that we're renovating. We would have used Drexler for plumbing, HVAC, furnace, or electrical repairs, inspections and maintenance.  However, if your organization cannot be reliable and provide reasonable service as you advertise, we will take our business elsewhere.

In my time as a life-long Louisville resident, I've only encountered a few truly vile and crooked companies.  Tom Drexler Plumbing, Air, & Electric is one of them.

No doubt you've seen Tom Drexler's box trucks prowling around your neighborhood: the backs of them are outfitted with a life-sized photograph of the owner, who appears to be standing and waving hello to you from the rear of the vehicle.  These unsettling depictions of poor Mr. Drexler are not quite to scale, so that he looks rather like an oompa loompa being smuggled out of the Wonka Chocolate Factory.

Or perhaps it is more accurate to imagine him snidely waving Later, suckers! as his minion-driver races away with another truckload of money he's swindled from a geriatric victim.

Tom Drexler strategically advertises inexpensive HVAC inspections.  Be forewarned: this is merely a ploy to get their foot in the door so that they can fabricate expensive repairs and fear-monger money out of your bank account.  Such was the tactic they uncoiled against my 71 year-old father.

My old man enlisted Tom Drexler for a routine HVAC inspection.  Gravely, the inspector reported back that my father's furnace had a cracked heat exchanger and that fatal levels of CO were billowing into the residence!  I'm required by law to shut off your gas, he explained.

And so it was that in the bitter cold of January, Tom Drexler cut the heat to my father's home and tried to pressure him into signing a $3628.70 repair estimate.

My dad is a very trusting soul, but even he used words like uneasy and suspicious when describing his encounter with this inspector.  He wisely thought to seek a second opinion.

The following day, a representative from Bryant Heating and Cooling rapped on the door.  Five minutes removed, he was rolling his eyes.  Tom Drexler flat out lied to you, he said.  Your heat exchanger is fully intact and your CO levels are actually lower than expected.  According to him, one of the dirtiest tricks in the HVAC industry is to tell an unsuspecting homeowner that they have a cracked heat exchanger.  You can easily fake a high CO reading by doing this, he explained, and blew into one end of the sensor.

Carbon Monoxide isn't something to mess with, so we brought in a third company to weigh in on the two dissenting opinions.  Their technician quickly corroborated everything Bryant had said.  I asked this man point blank, Is it possible that Tom Drexler made an honest error and simply misdiagnosed the crack and the CO leak.  Absolutely not, he laughed.  That would be like you telling a blind person that the sky is red.

I was appalled that Tom Drexler deliberately tried to scam my septuagenarian father out of $3628.70.  Still, I refrained from passing judgement on the entire company: perhaps, unbeknownst to Tom Drexler, this crooked inspector was trying to pad his commission checks by scamming clients.  I decided to blow the whistle and I called the Drexler office.

I did not mince words, but I was eloquent and polite in relaying our ordeal to the receptionist.  I was struck by the fact that she offered not even a glimmer of surprise or an apologetic tone.  I had a distinct feeling that I was not the only person phoning in with such concerns.  She gnawed on her gum like a jaded camel and flatly offered to leave the manager a note.

Now, if I ran an HVAC company and a concerned customer called in with serious allegations against one of my underlings, I'd drop everything and prioritize returning that call.  Manager Mike Wells does not share this philosophy - it took him more than a week to respond at all.  He left me a voicemail... and then ignored my subsequent calls to his cell phone.  The Drexler office then refused to put me into contact with someone more responsive.

We can deduce that the rampant chicanery at Tom Drexler Plumbing, Air, & Electric functions from the top down.  An honest company would have been appalled at my feedback and would have thoroughly investigated.  They'd be anxious to extinguish any ember of charlatanism amid their ranks.  Tom Drexler's disinterest is a damning piece of evidence evincing their tacit approval.  Surely, Drexler inspectors are coached to find problems in the name of maximizing profits.

I originally hoped that Tom Drexler might atone for their fact that they tried to defraud our family out of thousands of dollars.  My father put it best, though: Tom Drexler has been so unprofessional and unresponsive that even if they tried to placate me with free services, I wouldn't trust them to set foot in my house.

And now, I hope my review will endure as a warning and save others from falling prey to Tom Drexler's endemic dishonesty.

Tom Drexler Plumbing, Air, & Electric are no better than the very excrement they endeavor to unclog.

When you hear the slogan, Call the plumber - his name is his number, remember my retort: Don't bother - he'll just scam your father.

I am writing this, knowing that Tom Drexler does not care....knowing that they are the big fish in the community and knowing that this will change nothing. However...here we go...

We have now used Tom Drexler for several years for both HVAC and plumbing.  Our experience has been the same each time.  We are never given an expected time of arrival, only told we are on the schedule and some will call when they are on the way.  Meaning, hold your entire day and we will let you know when we are coming...unless there is an emergency, or someone runs late, then we will call you and let you know we are not coming.

I am amazed that a company this size does not have the capacity and ability to make appointments and keep them.

Our last appointment was canceled due to emergency calls, and then I was told it would be a week before they could get me back on the schedule.  A WEEK!  I had no kitchen sink, but my emergency was not a priority.  This is a pattern for them...had I not thrown a fit I would not have been able to use my kitchen sink for a week.

Today I have another appointment.  We called yesterday to ask for a window of time...was told they could not do that until day of.  At 10:30 they call to tell me we are a late day appointment.  Had I known this I could have actually planned my day...instead I will sit and wait.

Other companies make appointments, other companies honor appointments, other companies respect and value their customers, sadly Tom Drexler is not one of them.

While we must use them for our HVAC needs for the sake of our warranty we will never recommend them, or use them should we move.

Be warned, if you use them you are at their discretion and mercy!

I updated the review because I had a problem with some work done previously they came out to fix it but I said don't do it unless this is the final fix but it was not so they credited me the 700 and I will use that on a different property and have the bathroom remodeled and gutted but they were professional and I am now considering I'm getting the gold package and using them on all repairs. They did the right thing

We bought a new stove but it came with a 4 prong cord.  I called Tom Drexler because I thought we might need to have our outlet upgraded (it is a 3 prong.)  The electrician explained that he could put a 3 prong cord on it since our home is old construction.  I also needed my security light checked since only half of it was working.  The electrician explained that it was an LED and he'd have to put in a new one.  No problem with either issue.
The issue is the $940 bill.  While it is true that he had to go get a  cord and light, it is a 15 min drive to Lowe's and it only took 20 minutes to install the range cord and turn on the burners to be sure they worked.  His associate put in the light during the same time frame.  I was floored at the cost.  We are seniors, retired, on fixed income.  I was so disappointed because I feel we were preyed upon.  My wallet was raped.  I trusted them to come help us and was willing to pay a fair price.  This price was not a fair price.  It was price gouging.

We have used Tom Drexler a few times for plumbing and HVAC needs and had no issues with them.  They were a little pricey,  however the employees were always nice and helpful and able to address our concerns.
Recently we had some plumbing needs for our bathroom and called them to make an appointment to come out.  The appointment was for a few days later and they did not give a time in which they would be out.  When we called to check the day of to check when the technician would come, we found out they did not have us on the list of appointment for the day.  This was after my spouse had waited at home all day for them to come.  They said they would try to work us in when we expressed urgency and that they would  call us.  A few hours later the dispatch employee texted us saying the technician could not get to us that day and that they could not get us an appointment until the following week. We were very disappointed in the handling of the situation and lack of verbal communication.

Following is a reply to Tom Drexler that bounced back:
I just wanted to talk to somebody to tell them how terrible the service was.
I realize you're not in business just for me but when I make an appointment in May for June 9 and you can't even give me a time that day and I've got a block out the entire day then you call me in the morning of the 9th and tell me you can't make the appointment and you offer me June 28.

Most service providers give a 2-4 hour window and I realize that some people might be upset because the appointment prior to theirs ran over but it's better than blocking out 12 hours for zip.

That's all just wanted to vent and tell you to stop emailing specials when you are understaffed.

Fortunately I found someone else.

Adding to the long list of people recommending not to use Drexler for plumbing issues.

They had come to our house to fix a shower faucet issue last year. We thought the problem had been fixed as we were told, but mold/seepage continued to form around the base of our shower over time. We tried to find the source of the leak, but Drexler claimed the issue was fixed and no current leak was found. We had paid $300 and were led to believe the issue was resolved.

Fast forward to this year. We had ASI Plumbing out to our house to replace an outdoor spigot. While replacing, I was taking a shower and the plumber from ASI noticed a huge leak from behind our shower while the water was running. We informed Drexler of this since this was the exact area they were tasked with fixing.

The receptionist was apologetic and understanding. The technicians are not. Drexler sent Gunther to assess the problem. He was condescending, annoyed, and rude to my wife. When she asked him to remove his shoes from the rainy outside, it was met with an eye-roll. When she asked to show him video of the leak, he said I'll turn the water on and see it for myself and then proceeded to stand back and watch water flood into our shower area, which could have been prevented by watching the video! He said the water pooling and mold couldn't possibly have been from the shower situation, even though it's a clear and obvious leak in the area. Overall he had no concern or sympathy for the problem. He said they could fix it for $1000 and that their last visit to fix the issue was irrelevant.

We sent him home and used someone else to fix it for a better price. We've experienced the same rude apathy in past experiences. We won't be using Drexler again.

I am editing my original review. I was contacted by Tom Drexler customer service today. They were concerned about my experience and my review and had no idea why the technicians working did not source a new hot water heater on day one of my failed service call.  There were no excuses, just no idea why my experience was as unacceptable as it was. We had a very amicable conversation on day 4. No excuse,  just they failed on several levels of customer service, Offered  me compensation for our inconvenience. They are very concerned about my opinion on the overall service I received.

This is the result of a sewage pipe repair under our driveway.  Drexler's manager said You'll never know we were here.  This has been falling apart ever since because they used the cheapest materials possible. Pebble debris never leaves the driveway and the patch work has been an absolute eyesore.

The grassy area on the other side of the yard has sunk at least 7 inches. Hard to display the grass in a photo but trust me it's huge.

AWFUL! I would give them 0 stars if I could. Total scammers & very rude. We had a leak coming from one of our pipes in our basement. They told us we needed to redo the entire plumbing system for $22k. They said the only cheap option would be $14k & that they couldn't guarantee that it would work. We ended up getting a second opinion & they fixed everything for $600. Would not recommend AT ALL!

i hired Drexel's to unstop a plugged drain with their $99 special.  The entire first floor of my home had been flooded with backed up sewage.  They came and retrieved a wad of paper from the drain pipe and left.  I spent $3500 on new carpet, drywall, etc.  The following week the drain backed up again, flooding everything again.  The reinspected the drain pipe and found that the cause of the back-up, that had caught the wad of paper previously removed, was a break in the drain pipe caused by a tree root.  This time they charged me several thousand dollars to fix the drain.  Again I had to spend more than $3000 to repair the flood damage.  The problem should have been found during their first inspection.

We recently turned on our AC for the first time since October, expecting cool air to help control the hot/humid that is the Louisville area.

Alas, all the moving parts worked but The Cold.  Fans and blowers fanned and blew, belts turned, motors whirred, and air moved...but it was the same muggy air that we were trying to get rid of.  It was JUST working in October, but all it was now was a friendly blast furnace of UHNG.  Having lived in our house for just under a year, we were thinking What!?!?  We've only been here a year!

#TheJoysOfHomeOwnership

The first thing we did was to call a Plumbing/AC vendor to come and take a look and he told us that it was low on refrigerant (which I really didn't need to pay him $69 to confirm, but whatever) and the cost to refill would be A LOT (over $800), or even more to fix it.  To be honest, I wasn't extremely comfortable taking his word at the costs he quoted and I didn't have the best confidence in this vendor.  The next step was Tom Drexler.

Michael came out on a Tuesday to size up the situation with our AC and to give us a quote.  We could tell right away that Michael had the knowledge and experience to head us down the right path.

After checking the AC compressor and our furnace...and just about everything else...he sat down we went over some stuff.  We already knew what the answer was going to be, but we had braced ourselves for it.  Since the furnace and AC were installed when the house was built in '94, both had basically outlived their intended lifespan.  Yes, we could spend a lot of money fixing one thing, but then a bit further down the line something else was going to break.  Based on the age of our system, the best best would be a full replacement.

Long story short (I know it's too long for that), we went with the full system replacement.  We signed the papers on Tuesday.  On Friday they installed the new system.

On THAT Friday!

Chris and Anthony (?) arrived right when they said they would and went to work sizing up the job and removing the old furnace and compressor.  About an hour later another guy shows up with the new units.  A little while later the installation manager showed up to see how things were going.  By 3:30 they were driving away and my house was getting cool again.

These guys were GREAT.  Very professional and very efficient.  Chris and Anthony worked great together as a team, didn't waste time, and managed to complete in about 6 hours what I envisioned them taking two days to do.

I can't say enough good about everyone I dealt with at Tom Drexler.  GREAT job, guys!

Everything went well and I have done without water from Friday until Monday due to a Saturday appointment that I could not miss and the plumber was supposed to be here at 8:30. In the morning. I got a text message the night before confirming that the plumber would be here probably at 8:30 Monday morning and he never showed until 1230. This was after I had spent the Past 48 hours emptying the closet and making room for them to get the new hot water heater in. Jerry assured me that they had a hot water heater that would fit.  A new plumber named Chris showed up late and took one look and said the hot water heater that he brought would not fit into that cubby and he did not know what to do but to call and see if one could be ordered.

That was pretty much the end of it for Monday Chris did cap off the hot water heater feed and turned my cold water back on. He left giving me very little information except that he would call me back the next day. Tuesday came and I got no communication till about 1230 when he called my family member who is helping me with this situation as I am a disabled cancer patient. They talk to them and not me and told them that my floor was squishy and we need major Repairs before they could install the hot water heater to the tune of even more money. Plus they could not find a hot water heater that would fit and it would be a delay before they would be able to get with me to do it. This frustrated me to no end. No one ever called me. I am the homeowner I am the customer.

My family member directed them to call me and Chris never did. So I waited the bulk of the afternoon needing hot water for medical purposes and bathing. On Wednesday one of my friends from high school stepped up to the plate being a master plumber and came out to take a look to see what Tom Drexler was feeding me. He took one look at my floor and said that of all places in the home the sub floor was plywood underneath the hot water heater and not particleboard. Granted I do live in a manufactured home it does not mean that I am low class or that it is any less at home than a stick built home. I do know that the cubby that the hot water heater sets in is pretty tight and they swore that there was no hot water heater in Louisville that would fit in it. That they would have to go to a manufactured housing supplier to get it and it would cost a substantial amount. This also was not true. My family member went to Home Depot with this plumber and purchased a standard hot water heater that fit right into the cubby. The whole installation took less than an hour and a half it was done by a professional. I now have hot water and could've had hot water long before my ordeal with Tom Drexler. Not only did they not communicate with me they lied to my family member and told them that there was no way they could fit a standard hot water heater in that cubby. Come to find out the hot water heater that was in the cubby was an older model of the exact same hot water heater that they replaced it with was a standard off the shelf Rheem at Home Depot.

Mind you NO ONE FROM TOM DREXLER CALLED ME.  I am the homeowner and customer.  You would think by Wednesday someone would have called me.  The job is now done and I received NO communication.

My mom has been in Tom Drexler customer for all most 14 years now. Please be mindful that when you are dealing with a established customer it is never good to do one of their family members wrong. Especially when they referred the plumber to you. All I have to say it's Tom Drexler should be a shame to yourself that your people would treat someone who is disabled cancer patient in this manner.

I no longer have faith in this company. A supervisor name Randy has reached out to my mother I don't know what will be done about this as we paid $99 just to have Jerry come out and supposedly measure and order my hot water heater and arrange installation for Monday which did not happen. If there was a problem with my sub floor anything else Jerry should've caught it. Jerry was very very nice and professional and Kris is fairly nice as well too but sometimes nice can be veiled in deception to get more out of the customer.

Attached is a photo of the new hot water heater sitting snuggling in the cubby working well I have hot water tonight I am blessed I'll be writing a good review about the good plumber.

HVAC technician came to my house and told me I had a cracked heat exchanger and tried to sell me $6,900 worth of replacement parts. So, I got a second opinion. The other company showed me with a camera and a static pressure demonstration that there was no problem with my heat exchanger. They said the furnace has been incredibly well maintained and that the part still has 10 years of warranty left on it. The only problem was that I was using too restrictive of an air filter. It was a $4 fix. Tom Drexler cares more about meeting sales goals than taking care of the customer.

Plumbing issues are never fun! This is especially true because they often are unexpected and can be a budget breaker. I have utilized Tom Drexler for plumbing emergencies in the past with good results.
Recently, I decided to update a bathroom which was stuck in the 1960's. It had a few repair issues as well.  I got a few different estimates, and after considering all the estimates, and evaluating the reputation, reviews and my impression of the overall integrity of each company. I decided to go with Tom Drexler.

Note on integrity-One of the other companies, WestShore  is heavily advertised. It is not local and was several thousand more for less components.  The sales person completed a Google review on my behalf before leaving my home. I was not informed this was taking place. He only asked me to answer a few questions about his service.  He then entered my responses into his tablet.  I understand an internal review for quality assurance purposes but I do not trust a posted review that is completed before the project is completed.
Earlier during this sales visit, Google reviews were used  as part of tge pitch to me.  This is a misleading way to boost the company rating reviews.

Even a no frills remodel can be pricey, but choosing Tom Drexler brought me the comfort and knowledge that they have a long history and are a local company with an excellent reputation. Each employee was friendly, professional, responsive and respectful.

At the completion of my project, I was sent a link to rate the service that I had received. The order for completing the rating was correct and I was happy to note that I was pleased the result and I am happy that I selected this company. I am confident that I would utilize them for any future projects or plumbing issues.

They came out and did a full inspection and gave me a quote to install a new HVAC and water heater at our house.

After a couple quotes I decided to go with Tom Drexler because they offered a free water heater and their quotes were not far off other companies.

The day after they finished their installation the furnace didn't work in 20 degree weather.  When I called their emergency 24 hr line they said they would not be available to help until the next business day. What is the purpose of the 24 hr emergency line?

After fixing the furnace my Air Conditioner would not cool the house below 78 degrees several months later during the summer.

I had to call multiple times and techs came out and they each in turn failed to fix the issue.  Every Tom Drexler technician gave me a different explanation for the failure... needs new parts, the system isn't designed to cool your house that well (what?), the thermometer is off, the system is not blowing hard enough, it's not drawing enough humidity out of the air...  still no fix.

The last tech came out and told me the problem is with the return vents. My return vents are not big enough to support to HVAC system. I asked him shouldn't that be included in a quote when my house is inspected for a new system?  He said no and that it is my fault for not asking about it when I got the quote before I started the work.  The tech said it would be several thousand more dollars to fix it.

I won't give a dollar more to this company.

I've never experienced such an epic fail in customer service and integrity from a company I've done business with.

The one good thing I can say is I was not charged for the sales pitch. I called this company out for clogged drain repairs. The company did send out a tech as they said they would but he definitely was not very well trained. A second tech arrived and after only looking (literally) at the plumbing made the decision that our cast iron pipe in the yard had failed and he would need to do more work. He proceeded to tell my wife that we needed to move the basement tanks & pumps outside, re-route the kitchen sink & bathroom to the other side of the house along the walls to the bathroom plumbing. My wife texted me and said I needed to came talk to them as this sounded expensive. Upon my arrival home the second tech who was dressed like a salesman carrying an iPad proceeded to tell me the same story because he was unable to snake out a 2 line and didn't want to get his snake stuck in the check valves. I said show me what you are seeing that I missed and upon inspection I could see that hadn't even pulled out a wrench. I asked if he attempted to remove the clean-out and was told no. to much water on top of it and they would be there a long time cleaning up the mess. I asked how he knew the pipe failed if he hadn't ran a snake or a camera to investigate. He told me it is what happens around here with cast iron pipe. I told him we would think about it and sent him on his way. I could tell he was ready for a cold beer as it was about 4 pm on a Friday afternoon. I then proceeded to get a few tools & buckets and the wife & I drained the pipes. We spent 4 hours on this project due to the 3 trips to HD for parts and to go out to eat. Actual work time was about an hour and the pipe clog that was about 18 in from the clean out was cleared away and everything was draining just as it was the day before.

This is an alert for anyone looking to have a major repair or replacement done to their HVAC system.  If you want to call them, be prepared to get at LEAST one other estimate.

My HVAC needed to be replaced, and the Tom Drexler quote was over $21,000.  Feeling over a barrel, but also feeling like this was an astronomical price I got two additional apples to apples quotes.  The other two quotes were within 3% of each other -- right around $11,000.  When I alerted my Tom Drexler contact to understand the HUGE disparity in their quote vs. others, they IMMEDIATELY offered to do the job for $12,500.  Then I got another call offering to take another $750 off the price.

Your service techs are great.  Your sales practices, in my opinion, should be regulated.

Please, if you have anyone in your life -- a parent, child, grandparent, friend -- implore them NOT to get a one-and-done quote from this company.

The sales person that called me listened to my concerns about their outrageous pricing (and the 9% extended term loans they offer to people on a fixed income) was incredibly dismissive and argumentative when I challenged their pricing/sales practices.

If you, or someone you know, has had a similar experience with Tom Drexler please post here.  We have got to get the word out about their outrageous pricing in a category where many people feel like they have to go with their first quote to minimize the disruption of their lives (e.g. taking off work, family obligations etc.). There needs to be greater transparency for companies like this.

Had a furnace installed in December 2021.  First they didn't have me in the schedule for the day I was given.  Then the technicians dropped a sheet of metal and broke an a/c coil leaking Freon into my home.  Which they ran out the front door to call their boss and didn't tell me.  I only found out when I heard the hissing noise.  Then they didn't seal around the exhaust on the roof (as described in the work order) so a month later when it rained it leaked down the exhaust pipe into the furnace and fried the circuit board.  So I was without heat while they had to order another one and gave someone desk around the exhaust.  They put the wrong size cap on the top of the exhaust causing a backflow of fumes whenever my water heater kicked on.  But the didn't find that problem when I called them.  Someone else came out and diagnosed and fixed the issue.  And then I had to call them 3 months after the installation that they hadn't charged me the 2nd half of the bill and I still owed them money.  AWFUL, AWFUL experience.

Would not recommend this company. Scheduled for a plumber to come out the following day after we had to turn our water line completely off due to a bathtub faucet continuously running hot water. After scheduling with them she gave me a 12 hour time window as to when they would arrive at my house (who has time to wait around for 12 hours waiting for a plumber on a monday?) Reluctantly, I waited around calling every few hours and checking in and was assured someone would absolutely be out to our property THAT day.

After calling the 3rd time at around 7:30PM (30 minutes before the time window they gave me was over and after hour charges began) they forwarded me to a scheduling supervisor who had been trying to get ahold of me ALL DAY to let me know that no one was going to be able to make it out (keep in mind, I had called two additional times that day and NO ONE told me that.. they kept assuring me that someone WOULD be out.)

I received NO calls from them that day either even though they claimed to try to get ahold of me all day . She then proceeded to tell me no one would be able to be out until the following week (A WEEK WITHOUT RUNNING WATER).

This company does not care about people's well being and is just there to collect their money. Would HIGHLY reccomend using another local service (we went with Maeser who had someone out to our house in THIRTY MINUTES)

Called for emergency plumber at midday on Sunday (said was willing to pay the extra $99 for Sunday call out). Meanwhile had to switch mains water off as the water pouring into basement. Therefore no water to drink flush toilets etc. they confirmed someone would be out (via text message) but was a no show and had no water all day. What a joke this company is. Could have called someone else.

I have never written a bad review about a business.  However, I would be remiss to not make my experience with Tom Drexler Plumbing and A/C public.  I purchased a duplex in New Albany, IN.  Two days after closing the A/C in the building went out.  The next day there was water backed up in the basement.  It was a nightmare.  I call Drexler and have them come out.  The first guy tells me that the A/C is old, but that some type of capacitor will keep it running a while longer.  He puts in the capacitor and charges me $500.  Ten minutes after he leaves, the A/C goes out again.  They return and tell me I need a new A/C and furnace...$9900.  A plumber comes out later that day.  When I ask him to snake out the pipe...he says he cannot get the snake into the pipes because of a badly angled ground to surface pipe.  He also says he doesn't know which way the water is draining.  Back to front or front to back.  His solution is to dig up the existing pipes and replace them all...then he wants to scope the pipes and figure out the problem.  His quote to re-do the pipes was $3400.  That was just to get the snake and camera in.  I called another plumber.  He came out and snaked the pipe out with no trouble at all.  Total charge $315.  It hasn't given me any trouble since.  Also, I had Home Depot come out for an estimate on the AC/Furnace...$7100.  By NOT using Drexler I saved almost $6000!!!!!!!  Either Drexler's employees are completely incompetent and have no idea what they are doing...or the company is run by a bunch of crooks.  Which is worse?  I don't know.  It truly seems that they are unethical, lack knowledge and overcharge.  The absolute worst company I've ever dealt with.  BEWARE!  Don't be lured in by their fancy tv spots.

They rescheduled twice. The technician arrived wearing an inadequate bandana that kept sliding off, putting me at risk. He was unaware of any details that I had provided the receptionist when I called to request a quote. His quote for the services was 3 times the industry standard. He tried to collect a service fee which had never been communicated to me previously. In fact, I was told that I had a $100 credit due to the multiple reschedules. When I informed him of this, he implied that I was a liar and that they have recordings of the conversations. At this point, I asked him to leave my home repeatedly before he departed. Steer clear of these crooks!

Had sewer line back up. They put a camera down and said there was a root in the pipeline going to the street, that we needed a sewer clean out, 5K but that it was on the easement. LG and E tells us nope, it's in our yard. Back and forth. We pay Drexler 5K to put in a sewer clean out. The tech kindly keeps on top of LG and E for me, who finally come out and put in a sewer clean out in the easement months later (I was away and they called and talked to my brother). The tech says LG and E owes us for the sewer clean out in our yard (that's correct, two sewer clean outs...in one yard). You'll have to pressure them cos they don't like to spend money, says the tech.

This pipe dig will settle in 6 months they told me last January. It still looks like someone just got buried in the yard.

That's the good experience.

These people work on commission. I got three estimates from Drexler yesterday for a *tiny* gas leak accidentally found because I smelled exhaust from the neighbor's heating system. LG and E turned off the gas. Drexler comes out and gives three estimates, one leak $1600, two leaks $2700, and whole pipe replacement $3800. I get a weird vibe, not to mention the plumber is wearing a sports cowl as a mask and it keeps slipping off while he's talking.

I call a friend's small family plumber who says omg, the horror stories from them!

Yesterday, we had a very nice technician named Chris D who was very personable and competent.  But our price to fix two toilets in a combined 25 minutes was a whopping $417.52.  We needed to have it done, so I agreed thinking that he was just trying to show us a lower price to give the customer more than he expects.  I fully expected this invoice to be marked down to no more than $200.  So, I am so greatly disappointed.  Chris explained to me that Drexler was a big company with big overhead, so they need to charge $325/hour!!!  That is the highest hourly rate I have ever heard in my life.  My advice is get a second and third estimate and see if you still want to use Drexler.

I gave Drexler a chance to make this right, but as of yet have not heard back from anyone at the company.

I had the opportunity to interact with Delton from this company today at my parents house. They've had some service to their system that required a changing out of the thermostat on Friday, and Sunday night their he wasn't working right. The technician who had installed the system, noticed my parents address and requested it. He was incredibly persistent and kind. My dad has been ill, and he promised me that he would make sure that he had heat that night. He eventually called in another technician for a second opinion.  They fix the problem which was very random and not run of the mill. He was very clear that he valued them as regular customers. I really appreciated the service that we received . I've had lots of problems with heating and air company's, and I've never seen one that went out of this way to provide good service

Crooked company. Will use a customers situation to pressure them into handing over a credit card and charge exorbitant fees. They lie and lie and lie. Twice in less than 12 months they have left my four family complex without water and said they would fix it before the days end. As soon as they secured a credit card and charged excess of $500, they left with zero concern for four separate families without water with the temperature in Louisville currently below freezing. When called they said they were understaffed and would not be back to remedy the issue (which they quoted at around $2,000), until the following Tuesday. They were originally here on Saturday morning. This business is a scam. Do not use. Find a different company. They are thieves and although their staff is very kind and professional, they are trained to steal for this company. WARNING.

O had never used Tom Drexler in the past, but had several other businesses come to the house with variable results.  I decided I needed two ceiling fans installed, two other electricians ha given me quotes that were higher than Tom Drexler.  One wanted more money for one fan install that Drexler charged me for two fans.  One was merely a replacement of the existing fixture, the other was a totally new install running wire from an existing switch and complete install of the fan and the receptacle in a ceiling that was totally devoid of any hardware.   Austin came here, gave me a  quote that was lower than other bidders and they stuck by it, Austin and his assistant did a quick professional job.  As long as this kind of service is the norm, Tom Drexler will be my go to place for home repair.

Cato gave us an estimate for multiple repairs and the installation of a new water heater in a home we just purchased. The inspection had unearthed multiple issues and he discussed appropriate options in detail. The estimate was a little on the high side, but Drexler stands by their work and works on a cost-per-job basis, which means that if they discover issues beyond the quote involved in getting the quoted job done, they will do it at no additional charge. We also appreciated both the prompt attention to our work and Mike's approach. He and his assistant (Nick) came on time and we were very impressed with the quality of their work. When the rebuild of both bathroom faucets didn't work they replaced both at no cost (again, a good aspect of Drexler's price-per-job approach). I don't know if all of their service people are as good as Cato and Nick, but if so, I'd recommend them highly for any plumbing job you have going.

I have used Drexler before. They were professional and clean, yet very expensive. Since the , I have had equal and cheaper work through several other plumbers.
They were called to my daughter's Crescent Hill home for a pipe problem. She was told they would have to dig in her yard and gave her a several thousand dollar estimate. She called another plumber; her problem wasn't nearly as severe as what they said and she paid less than $400 for the job. They must have seen her as a young, näive girl and tried to rip her off. Since then, I've heard several stories from others who had similar experiences. My suggestion is to use a small independent company where the plumber is the owner and has few employees. That way, they are responsible for reputation and responsibilities.

They get 1 star for timelyness and being pleasant. However, only use if you don't mind over paying by thousands! I live on a slab and had plumbing issues in my bathroom. Was going to require removing tub, toilet and jackhammering to fix. Although I knew it wasnt going to be cheap, their quote of $14,000+ was a shock. Keep in mind this is a very small bathroom! Turns out the quote was for fixing the problem AND remodeling the whole room. I didnt ask for them to remodel my bathroom. There quote for fixing the problem was $5800+. I called Dauenhauer and was quoted $1,800 for the same work. Needless to say, they have lost me as a customer as well as everyone I share this experience with!

I've been trying to get Dan J. from Tom Drexler to stop harassing me via private message. He's bent on getting my home address, which I'm not comfortable with. At one point, I contacted the company via email/web form to complain that I felt uncomfortable with Dan J's persistent, annoying insistence that I give him my home address.

The company promised, via email response, that I would not be contacted again. That's a bald-faced lie. Dan J. contacted me again to state that he would try to get my Yelp review removed.

Fine, Dan J. of Tom Drexler Plumbing. Try to get this Yelp review removed. I'll just spread the word, about all of my screen-capped/hard-evidence experience, everywhere else.

Tom Drexler is the last place I'll go in the future for anything. I'm telling everybody I know the same thing, as they can't maturely deal with negative reviews. If you want to be harassed, by all means, contact them. Otherwise, Louisville/Kentuckiana has plenty of other professionals who're happy to help you.

We had Tom Drexler plumbing come out to fix a sump pump leak. The plumber gave us a bill, which we paid. In addition, without our knowledge, they enrolled us in one of their frequent plumbing plans that we found out later cost $100. When we told the company we did not want that plan on our bill, they gave us a $31 refund but increased the bill by $69 because we lost a discount by not being on their plan. I would never, ever use this outfit again. That was a sleazy move on their part. I would not trust them.

Technician was wonderful, however $360 to hook up a bathroom sink I thought was a bit much. The technician didn't know how to cut baseboard so I'm the sink fits away from the wall. If I hadn't needed it hooked up right away I would have looked elsewhere. If you need a fix right away and don't mind burning a hole in your pocket then use them otherwise don't make my mistake and wait till the last minute. Next time I will find somewhere that can put a vanity in correctly and not cost an arm and a leg.

About a week ago we had the hot water to our kitchen faucet go out and one of our outside spigot was leaking as well. We called Tom Drexler to schedule an appointment for a quote. Within 3 days we had the plumbers at our house and they actually were able to fix both problems that same day. Chris Cain and Taylor Goetz were our plumbers and we could not be happier with the job they did. They were professional, knowledgeable, kind, funny, and super nice. They were so patient when talking to our home warranty company, and trust me that was a real patience tester. They even gave us a discount on a repair that wasn't covered. They told us about their extended warranty plans and weren't pushy about trying to get us to purchase that, although we did get the silver plan. This just gives us the piece of mind we need to know that we have them should we need them. The warranty even covers a once a year inspection of both our heating and cooling so that if a problem is detected we can address it before the problem gets worse. Overall, this was our first time using Tom Drexler but it won't be our last. Chris and Taylor made today's experience stress free and enjoyable. If everybody had employees like them plumbing issues would no longer be a stressful experience. Thank you Tom Drexler and Chris and Taylor for impressing us and for a job well done.

I called Tom Drexler Plumbing to have general service maintenance since winter was on the way and i wanted to be sure my furnace had whatever maintenance might be necessary. They spent about half an hour, took a bunch of photos, then the service rep told me that I needed a new capacitor on my furnace as the one I had was going out. Gave me a photo of the readout his gauge was showing to prove it was going bad.  If I agreed to their yearly maintenance contract and paid for that ($262.) the capacitor would only cost me $308.00+ change, but without the member price, the capacitor would cost me $525.00+ change. They could save me $57.86 if I was a member (mighty generous of them, right?) I told them I would get back with them, I got a 2nd opinion. Futch HVAC came out and checked everything out 3 days later. They told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my capacitor, and even if there had been, the part was only $27.00, so they were wondering why in the world Drexler would be charging me $500.+ for a $27.00 part? WHY indeed? Good question. Because they were trying to rip me off, that's why. (Do they think people are too stupid to get a 2nd opinion or what?) FUTCH told me if they turned out to be wrong and the capacitor went out within the next 90 days, they would replace it for free. Drexler is the LAST company I would ever call again for ANYTHING!

I scheduled an appointment 3 weeks in advance to have a sink and toilet installed in a half bath for an upcoming party I was having. I was on schedule between 9-11 am. I called 3 times during the day when no one showed during that time. Each time I was told someone was still coming that day. At 4:40 pm, I got a call saying they needed to reschedule and the only dates they could offer were now AFTER my party. Horrible communication, customer service and lack of value for repeat customers. Scheduled a 3-7 pm appt today, was advised that the plumber might arrive before 3.  Received call at 6 pm that no one is coming today unless I pay additional emergency fee because they are just too busy.   No apology, poor scheduling and now I have to find another plumber. Would not recommend.

April 7, 2018- no followup received despite comment from Tom Drexler.

We had issues with basement toilet draining and called Tom Drexler because we had used in the past for some repair work. The crew brought the camera to investigate and found some grease buildup (from kitchen sink splashback) and said they installed the plumbing incorrectly 10 years ago. The (only) fix was tearing up basement floor/concrete/shower/walls to replace for $10k. We had another company come out and charged us $800 for camera and blow out the pipes/buildup with air/water. Pipes are squeaky clean from bathroom to the street, saved over $9,000 and will definitely not be calling Tom Drexler. After speaking with some more people about the issue.....apparently part of the TD business plan is training the upsale, very brief training before sending out on their own trucks, and annual bonuses that are incentivized based on how much they bring in/charge customers (despite the work maybe being unnecessary). No complaints when we used previously to fix a sink valve or replace water heater....but has left a bad taste. Will not be calling again in future.

I am extremely disappointed and feel scammed by this company. I had a sewer issue, and since they are well known and somehow (no idea how) have good reviews, I decided to go with them.
They came out and put a camera down and said they found a root in the sewer. Great. I had them go ahead and do the repair and paid them FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS. We were fine for a couple weeks, then had the same problem again. I called them out and they told me there was another root down the line. It would be TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS to fix it.
Called to have them snake the line again, and they refused. I called around to other plumbers. They told me they would have charged us $4,000 to replace the whole line. They also told me they thought the problems we were having were from the work that Tom Drexler did. They also told me they have to go behind and fix a lot of Tom Drexlers work.
I called them to have them guarantee their work, and they refused. I paid them FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS, and they don't want to help fix the problem or guarantee their work.
I absolutely WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!
They are supposed to be coming out next week to look at the problem again, after bothering them SO MANY times. So who knows what will come of that. I am hoping they will make the problem right, but don't have much confidence in them at all.
Save your money and support a business who will stand behind their work. Hopefully I won't need to contact the BBB.

I had a clogged bathroom sink. I tried to do everything myself before calling a plumber like using drain cleaner, using baking soda and vinegar, using a drain snake, and taking out the pipes. I even did research online and went to Home Depot to talk to associates there about what I could do before resorting to a plumber. But the clog was in the wall and I couldn't get to it. So I called Tom Drexler on Monday afternoon and they sent Jason K. the next day.

Jason was 30 minutes early. He was very nice, personable, and friendly. He unclogged the bathroom pipe. It turned out to be a bunch of sludge and hair. He answered all of my questions and gave me advice about how to prevent future problems. He also cleaned up afterward. I felt he went the extra mile in making sure that I was informed and comfortable. The whole process was easy and I was happy with the finished work. I am glad I called Tom Drexler to fix my drain issue, and I would highly recommend Jason as a drain tech.

Do not use this company...
My elderly sister who has had several health issues, called Tom Drexler when the main breaker in her fuse box broke and left her in the dark.  They did response quickly and installed a less than a $100 breaker for $617.00 plus charged her $198.00 for a unrequested one year Maintenance Plan.  One week later the electric panel felt hot in her mobile home and they again promptly responded to her call.  The same technician Mr. Bishop quickly determined that she needed a new breaker box for $4,000.00.  Since she has very little money, she called me, her brother, for the money.    For that large amount of money, I called in a highly rated electrician to review the situation.
He determined that the screws that held the new breaker, installed by Tom Drexler, were all loose almost falling out, which caused an electric arc in the box and caused the heat.  He secured the breaker, checked all the other breakers, and determine everything was in good shape for $120 house call.
Fortunately, the comment from Mr. Bishop the mobile home may catch on fire did not happen.

Don't expect honest service from Tom Drexler! I was a silver service member for all of 2 months. During that time, I had my free summer AC tune up. The techs told me of some issues with my two units, and that one needed to be replaced. I told them, I wasn't prepared to pay for a replacement on that day, and just to make sure the other unit was up and running. However, they unplugged both of my units without notifying me. A few days later, I thought both my units had gone bad. When in reality they just unplugged my working unit, to make me pay for yet another service call. Horrible ethics and customer service. I have tried speaking with their customer service and was promised a refund over a week ago, that I have still NOT received.

Tom Drexler charged my 80 year old father $10,000 to replace a water line from the street to his home. They refused to provide an hourly rate or detailed break down of their work or materials. The line was approximately 50' and they charged him what they call their minimum of 100'. I priced the job for 50% less after I found out what they had charged. When I asked for an explanation they essentially said they are more expensive because they are better than other competitors. I can assure you that they certainly not better than competitors based on the mess they left behind and their business practices. I recommend looking at ANY other option before using Drexler. My father will be making payments on this grossly overcharged job for the rest of his life. Shame on you Tom Drexler.

Had an appointment for Furnace and Air Conditioning check-up for the past several weeks. When the appointment was made we were told they would have to call us with a time window. The morning of the 13th we were called
and given a time frame between 11;00 AM and 1;30 PM. We waited until 3:00 no-tech no-phone call. We had appointments other than Drexlers, wo we left the house at 3:00 to take care of other business. At 5:00 we received a call from the tech (I believe his name was Anthony) saying he was on the way. WE were not home ,told him so, and said the scheduled appointment time was between 11;00 AM and 1;30 PM, and we waited until 3:00. He commented when he returned to the office he would have them contact us and reschedule. We have not heard from them. We have always been pleased with the service from Drexler's, and have highly recommended them to others, but the last few times we have contacted them for service there seems to be problems. We have a service agreement with Drexler's, but once it is time for renewal, unless their service greatly improves, we will be looking elsewhere for a more dependable company.

They really don't care about you at all, just your money.

Had a pin-hole leak in my crawl space. Ended up putting me out of my house for a number of months do to mold. Had them come in a replace all my plumbing which went well at first. Then when I got a new bathtub and needed my faucets raised, they tried to charge me 3X more what another plumber ended up doing it for. When it was finally time to hook all my appliances back up after all the remodeling to my house was done, they came out and ended up rushing the job, and left one of the lines under my sink not completely tightened. I came home the day before we were suppose-to move back into my house to a large puddle on my BRAND NEW floors, and a warped cabinet. I will NEVER use them again.

Crooks. Completely took advantage of the fact that I'm a single woman living alone. Tried to talk to me like I'm stupid and tell me my heating/A/C needed completely replaced despite being less than 5 years old and despite the air actually still running. I called only because my air was not getting hot or cold. They forced me into paying 100 dollars (made it sound like a coupon card) to tell me it would make the entire cost lower which they would not tell me until I spent the 100 dollars. They quoted me 10k to replace my circuit board, furnace and A/C unit. I obviously got a second opinion. The people who just left my house fixed everything for me, and even took the time to nail in a few boards they saw were loose all for 700 dollars.

Would not recommend calling Tom Drexler. There service department is extremely unorganized. We are still without hot water. We were scheduled for today and they called late in the day and moved us to Tuesday. They assured us this morning they would be out today (Saturday) or tomorrow morning (Sunday). Disappointing. Ended up calling Dauenhauer.

My elderly father came to live with us on July 3. We got an estimate from TD for a walk in shower suitable for an older person and it was better than a quote from a previous company. My father turned 90 in July and we needed a shower that he could use safely. The salesman and installers all met and spoke with my dad. Everyone knew we wanted a safe shower. We had TD remove our like new tub and shower and install an acrylic shower with seat and lots of handicap rails. No one warned us the floor could be slippery. The first time my father used the shower he could hardly sit in the slippery seat and his feet could not grip the floor. His feet slid out from under him and he fell. Our grandsons came over to help dad up and they couldn't stand up in the shower. My dad broke his kneecap and has been in the hospital over three weeks. He can't put weight on that leg for eight weeks. He needs rehab for several weeks. I used the shower once and I could hardly sit on the seat it was so slippery and I could barely stand up. All TD did is put down some strips to make it less slippery and to tell us it didn't seem to be a complaint they got from other customers. I wish they had warned us. My dad might not be facing such a long recovery period. I should give them no stars. Wish we had gone with another company. TD should pay for my dads rehab and put warnings on their acrylic shower flooring.

Hank, a technician from Tom Drexler was THE best. He came over the next day after we called (which wasn't a big deal). He took on the job after another plumber said there wasn't a problem...and then proceeded to fix it in a matter of hours. He did have to cut a small hole in our basement wall to asses the situation, which unfourtantly wasn't where the problem laid. No biggie, he cleaned up his mess and apologized for having to do it. Kind of a necessary evil. He did take out an old metal pipe which had several holes in it and replaced it with all plastic fixtures.

I have called Drexler in the past and haven't been too enthused about their opinion. That's neither here nor there, now. As this round was made way, way better thanks to Hank.

If we have more plumbing issues we will be calling and asking for Hank specifically from now on! Thanks!

I will leave my original review below this one. I started with 5 stars because Shawn (and his son, who followed up) gave me great service. I also had an electrician, Jacob, who was very nice and did great work and even installed my doorbell as a courtesy for me after it fried in a lightening incident. Unfortunately, I have lowered my rating to 3 stars as I know the individual may not reflect the whole company, nor does it represent my experience with the whole company...

On New Year's Eve I lost heat. Jim was sent to service my hvac. He was polite but the service has made me question using this company in the future. I was told that 3 parts went out on my furnace that needed to be replaced and I was quoted a total of $1512.26 AFTER my silver plan discount was applied. Due to the holiday, parts were not available until the following Monday. He said I'd have to keep the emergency heat off all weekend due to a transformer smoking in the attic... well, luckily for me, I have a close friend in hvac who set up my emergency heat to get me through the weekend. There was no transformer smoking that we saw and I made it through the weekend fine on emergency heat. I also got it repaired by replacing ONE part which cost $37 at the warehouse. I would like to hope that this was not a malicious attempt to swindle me, but rather just incompetence. Either way, this is no way to run a business!!! I understand marking up parts is how they make money and labor costs are a given for a very technical skill... and I am willing to pay that. But over $1500 for something that actually costs $37 and took less than 30 minutes to install is insulting to the customer. Telling me I need 3 parts when I needed 1 and unnecessarily leaving me with no heat for the weekend really made me question how this company does business, especially because the technician even took time to consult his manager over the phone. I am very disappointed because I thought I had found a good company I could trust to take care of my home and now I no longer feel that way.

Shawn was awesome! I was so distressed about my ceiling being flooded with water; he fixed my problem quickly and explained everything to me so I could understand what went wrong and prevent future problems. He updated me on maintenance, gave me tips on where to get discounted air filters and he even emptied the water out of the light fixture, swept the installation off the floor and even picked the installation out of my cats hair where he was rolling around on the ground hahaha Shawn was awesome! He went above and beyond. I would 100% recommend him to a friend :) As far as Drexler, I had called several companies with high ratings on google and drexler offered me the best price and they were the only company that didn't want to charge an emergency fee to come out on Fourth of July weekend so I'm very appreciative of them!

My experience is not direct but comes from my son and a friend but coincides with many reviews I read . They advertise the cheap drain cleaning service which gets then in the door. Then unscrupulous plumber/sales people tell you the simple fix of snaking a line is just the tip of the iceberg and you need to replace all your lines  that are going to bust soon for 3-4K
And up . In my friends case all they needed to do was reconnect a drain line which had literally come apart. Most of the guys working for them probably failed going on there own and are now screwing people for Tom . BEWARE!

Very misleading. I called and specifically asked if they can make it and said if they can't it's no big deal I'll call a different company.

At 6 another dispatcher called saying no one will be showing up.

This was the first time I have used this company and I called them because friends recommended them.
They spent a lot of time reviewing my whole home plumbing and explaining to me what future needs I may have. They gave me written estimates prior to service and completed the work very efficiently. Although they are mire costly than other plumbers, I felt secure that they performed excellent service.  I will call them again!

As always when one thing goes out something else is not far to follow. I've had to have them come out 3 times within 6 weeks for different things. They are courteous, professional, friendly and a joy to work with. You call and always reach a live person who helps you get scheduled ASAP. The technicians are knowledgeable and respectful when entering your home. And they don't just give you the most expensive option if there are less expensive options they give you those also. My only regret is that when I move to Florida they don't have an office there.

We've used Tom Drexler multiple times over the last few years.  They replaced the blower on our HVAC, replaced the whole furnace a year or so later, came over at 11pm on a Saturday for an unfortunate pipe incident, and several more small jobs as well.  They've never failed to be polite, neat, and honest - on several occasions even charging me nothing when all that was required was tightening a loose fitting.  I've always been happy with their work and the warranties they offer on it.  I'm a Drexler customer for life!

Tom Drexler came out last for a free ac inspection. The tech insisted on seeing the furnace first. Later he came showing me pictures of my furnace. According to him I had a gas leak, cracked heat exchanger and corroded something. The tech had already called the salesman to sell me new equipment for 15K. The salesman came and tried to sell me. I don't do business that way. I had another company come out that day. He also took pictures and showed them to me. Turns out pictures from Drexler were not my furnace. Also a gas leak has to be red tagged by law and the gas company called. This is a scam. And a new furnace doesn't cost 14-15K. I will never have them back. The only thing any company has to sell is trust. They lost mine.

Beware. They did come out quickly, but they charged $404.00 to change a water valve on a line I have in my garage. Background: It had come off the threads after being put on by handyman, but instead of just being straight up and telling me there was nothing wrong, they replaced it and charged me the exorbitant price. The job amounted to literally screwing the new one on the pipe. The pipe wasn't the only one to get ....well, you know. My job keeps me really busy, I had multiple conference calls that day, so  I thought I would give Drexler a try. I know contractors in the local area, I should have asked them first. No reasonable explanation for the amount given the job.

I called them in the morning about a AC issue we were having at our showroom. They said they could be out there today before 12-4. Awesome! I got a text message confirming my appointment and they called me to make sure we would be there for their technician. I get a call at 3:30 that they won't make it out and that they wouldn't be able to make it for a few days! Seriously!!! I understand that your day could run long and make it out tomorrow but a few days after you promised same day service is ridiculous. I could've already had another company scheduled if they would've that from that start. Never again. Don't waste your time people, look elsewhere

I hired Tom Drexler Plumbing to unclog a drain in my shower. They technician, after running water for about 30 seconds, said there was clog. While there, he noticed that water was leaking out of the light fixture in the shower stall. He called Drexler's office and they sent a technician out. The technician looked at the shower stall and said he couldn't fix it until the next morning. When I asked him what to do about the active leak, he told me to just let it leak until morning.

The next morning the Drexler technician and his assistant arrived. He told me that he couldn't give me an estimate of the repair until he cut in to the walls. I told him the house was on the market and that I needed it fixed that day. He told me that before they left the leak would be repaired. They then proceeded to cut three holes in the drywall (two in the closet upstairs and one in the laundry room).

The technician then told me that the leak was coming from a copper pipe that runs to the boiler. When I asked him if he is a plumber and why he couldn't fix a copper pipe, he said that he wasn't a boiler man, and that I would need to call a boiler repair company. I told him that Drexler has a boiler repairman (James B, A+) and that he is fixing the boiler. The technician then called Drexler's office to get a boiler repairman out there. He was advised that they couldn't send anyone out until Monday--three days later, all the while the leak was active. He then charged my $267 for cutting holes in my wall and diagnosing the leak.

I then called Schardein Mechanical (A+) who sent out a technician immediately. Within 10 minutes he located the source of the leak: one the radiators on the radiant heat system that goes to the boiler wasn't tightened. It was leaking from the valve. While there, he check the valves on the boiler and water heater, fixed a couple more leaks (again Tom Drexler's technician said that I had another copper line leak that was leaking water on our water heater (actually, it was just the relief valve on the boiler line working properly. There was nothing was wrong).

A week after that, our shower flooded with more than four inches of water. The same shower where Drexler's technician said there was no clog. I called Parker Plumbing (A+), he snaked the shower line and cleared the clog. Everything is working good.

Over the past six months, I've paid Tom Drexler Plumber more than $2,000! In each case, their technician was NOT able to fix the problem in one visit. In most cases, they had to call other technicians for help.

I sent a scathing letter to Tom Drexler (the owner) telling him that his incompetent staff cost me more than $1,000 in repairs from OTHER companies. Molly, Drexler's customer relations representative, called me on Thursday, January 28, 2016 to tell me Tom Drexler would be refunding the $267 I paid for damaging my walls and misdiagnosing the problem. She told me that Tom Drexler, the owner, would sign the refund check on Friday, January 29, 2016, and that I would have the check in four days (I live about three miles from Drexler Plumbing.) I never received the check, and Molly won't answer my phone calls.

I purchased a very expensive heating and cooling system at the end of the winter when my furnace went out. Now that it's hot out I turned on my ac and it wont keep my house cool despite running all the time. I had asked the salesman Michael for paperwork for my lg&e rebate numerous times and he has refused to give it to me. And after looking at my contract and install paperwork I see that the system I paid for is not the one installed. I will be filing a suit in small claims court to remedy this situation.

Do not patronize Tom Drexler electric.  If you call them, they won't tell you what a service run costs and they won't tell you their hourly rate.  They say they operate by the job.  Well, we found out why they won't give you any preliminary information.  We have a ceiling fan with attached light that had an issue.  A technician came on time and diagnosed the problem pretty quickly, but couldn't fix it because of lack of a part which we had to order.  So that was all good.  However, for less than an hour of work, they charge $250!!
We find that unconscionable.  So if you use them, realize you'll get ripped off!

We had a very strange plumbing problem with complicated pipes crossing each other, looking strange, and basically not working right. Their plumbing staff came out immediately, even though this was not an emergency situation. One of the amazing things about this company is that they text you with the arrival time of their service person, including a picture of the person who will arrive at the door. They tried to take care of the problem in the most economical way, but our plumbing was a mess. They returned the next day, took care of the problem, and it cost less than the estimate. Plumbing issues are almost always expensive, but Drexler did their best to make it work. We would definitely call them again!

I've dealt with Drexler in the past, with mixed results; I use Dauenhauer now and have been happy with their work. A week ago, my mom's washing machine drain backed up and needed repairs, and she wanted Drexler, having done business with them before. The tech arrived, did a minor repair on her kitchen sink plumbing ($100), then proceeded downstairs to look at the washer drain. After some commotion, he re-emerged and told her the drain line couldn't be cleared, and that the entire service line from the house needed to be replaced at a cost of $6200 and some change. Or, she could opt for additional interior work, for a total of $8800. This, of course, is second opinion territory, and what their tech didn't know is that mom actually bought the HomeSense sewer line replacement insurance that the water company likes to push. I called them and their contract tech decided that the problem actually lay in the pipe under the basement floor that connects to the external line, failed to clear the blockage ($210), said the repair wasn't covered by HomeSense, then quoted a much lower but still high cost of $2300 minimum to dig up the old line (and a little of the basement floor). At that point I called in Dauenhauer, who opened the line in 15 minutes for $250 with a six-month warranty. I can't say whether Drexler's tech simply didn't do the work properly or he saw a 90-year-old pigeon waiting to be plucked, but the rapidly accumulating body of stories of inflated estimates on this site seems telling.

First appointment was rescheduled due to lots of emergency calls over the weekend.  Rescheduled for the next day.  They give 4 hour windows for appointments so had to take two afternoons off from work.  They called again 30 minutes before the 4 hour window ended the next day to say they had too many emergencies and needed to reschedule again.  Told them we will find someone else, scheduler said that it was fine by her since that would help h...don't understand how that they think this is a way to conduct business.

I paid for the total protection plan when I purchased a water heater from Tom Drexler. The replacement took three hours longer than expected due to manufacturing Issues and defects with the new water heater they installed, but I overlooked that.

My extended plan included an AC tune up and a furnace tune up. They called and canceled my AC tune up twice. I never bothered to rescheduled the AC tune up as it was not a priority for them. Then, this fall I called and scheduled a furnace tune up. Surprise! It was also canceled and rescheduled. Today, third strike: A plumber was supposed to be at our home from 8-12. When I called at 12:09 PM, they said he'd be there between 3-7 PM.

PLEASE, use someone else. The customer service from this organization is poor at best. The women in the office are sweet and apologize, but clearly there are larger organizational issues.

3rd strike with this outfit. Pricing is absolutely ridiculous and they are so evasive on the phone. I still had to pay $69 for the appointment because they will not quote you over the phone, yet when the tech got to my home he proceeded to tell me about the flat rate per service requested (in this case simple removal/install of a toilet) so that if anything unforseen happens you're covered. Well, at $390 I guess they're expecting a lot of problems. Will actively campaign against them and this is a recurring issue I've had with them.

I am selling my current house and the home inspector discovered a hole in the yard with an exposed pipe showing. I had it inspected by Tom Drexler plumbing and they discovered the sewer pipe was not even connected. Within hours they had a 2 man team out to dig a hole and reconnect with a new pipe. At first, we had a disagreement over price but we were able to come up with a compromise.

If I could give zero stars I would. We had a clogged bathroom sink and called Tom Drexler who we thought could be trusted. They came out and took a look at the sink, which had never not drained properly in all the years of living in our home, and said they needed to cut into the walls and install new pipes bc they were going in the wrong direction, thus causing the sink not to drain properly. It was going to start at $200 Just to cut into the wall, and a few thousand to do the work. We decided to wait bc we felt we could have it snaked. We had a small family owned plumbing company come out, and GUESS WHAT??? It was snaked and now works perfectly. I would NOT use this business. They clearly aren't trustworthy and thought we didn't know enough about plumbing to get a second opinion!!! BEWARE!

Had a rep from Tom Drexler come give me an estimate for a bathroom remodel. One that didn't require any demo whatsoever. I also have a very small bathroom. His quote came back at $14,200. My mind was blown. Complete ripoff. Used car salesman style was their strategy I guess. Got another quote from an independent contractor today who is very reputable and his quote came in at $2,400. Watch out for this company if you're looking to hire them for a remodel. Very disappointed.

On June 30, I had a Tom Drexler employee come to my house. When he arrived, I specifically told him about how my AC unit was running, but no air was coming out of my vents, and more importantly, I had a leak in my first floor ceiling, which is below my laundry room. I specifically told him I thought there was a plumbing issue. He cut me off, told me he was VERY busy, he needed to hurry and leave to get to other houses, and to just show him where my AC unit was. To make a long sotry short, we were billed for a new cap (? - was never told what this even was b/c the employee was so ready to leave) and 3 lbs of refrigerant. The employee was being super sketchy by telling us that we should call him in 3 weeks to see if the leak was bad enough that all the refrigerant had leaked. We had another company come out a few  days later and told us there was very little refrigerant. Luckily, they recharged the AC unit free of charge. That either meant - 1. The leak was really bad, or 2. Tom Drexler did not recharge the AC unit with refrigerant. After the second company recharged the unit, we had another company come check it two weeks later. Still a leak (we knew there was one from last year), but there was a significant amount of refrigerant. My husband and I fully believe Tom Drexler did NOT fully charge our unit, and that we paid for nothing in that regard. We were also told by Tom Drexler that the ceiling leak was from the unit dethawing b/c it was frozen. TURNS OUT, THAT WAS NOT THE ISSUE. We actually had a pipe backing up from the outside drainage pipe. Dirt was actually getting into the outside pipe and backing up the pipe all the way through our walls into the second floor laundry room. If Tom Drexler had taken a second to look, or had their plumber look, the SECOND LEAK that happened a week and a half later could have been avoided. Instead, they were too busy and had to get to other customers.
The second leak mentioned above happened on July 16. We called Tom Drexler, and they told us they could not promise that they wouldn't charge us again. At this point, I  decided to go with a real plumbing company. On July 17, I called to file a former complaint. I was told Darren would get back with me in 24 hours.... That was the funniest lie they could have told me. I waited until July 22, and then called to check up on the complaint. Darren was busy and was told he would call me back in 24 hours. I was also told there were notes in their system that I had received a call from Darren on Friday, July 19, and that the issue had been resolved, and the complaint would need to be reopened. I waited until July 24 around 1pm (today), and AGAIN Darren was too busy to talked to me. I was told he would call back. I knew that was a lie, so I called at 4pm. After waiting on hold, they finally seemed to find Darren. Darren then tried to tell me he tried calling three times and left two voicemails, which is a joke, b/c I've received calls and VMs from other numbers in the last week. The only thing they would reimburse for my troubles was the maintenance plan I had purchased... which in my opinion, that shouldn't have even been a question. I don't want them ever in my home again.
Save your money, I wasted over $500 with this terrible company. I will never use them again, and I'm convinced they pay people to write any kind of good review about them.

You might find somewhat lower prices elsewhere, but you won't find a more professional team that does warrantied and quality work.  We had Michael Murphy as our plumber.  The office alerted us to when he would be here; he was on time and was very friendly, courteous and professional and got the job done in good time. Tom: give this man a raise, an extra week's vacation and make him a full partner.  I always wave to you at the back of the truck.

Thank to the technicians Chris Dews an Lee Ells. These guy worked until the job was finish. I really felt bad for them because our air went out on the hottest days of the year. Our air went out on a Friday evening. After my husband decided he couldn't fix the problem I called Tom Drexler office. Of course we have the worst luck in the world. Our unit was old ,and to me it never was placed in correctly. It  ran all the time never shut off until in the wee hours of the morning. It was about 16yrs old.  Yep you guessed it....time for a new unit. They loan us an air condition (never heard of a company doing that) it helped cool at least one room. So very grateful for that. Did I mention that we called Tom Drexler because they fix an electrical problem we had. Good job guys....Always care for your customers and God will open up the heavens and pour out many blessings. Thanks to all that participated in helping out. We are completely satisfied.

This company advertises Free Estimates in all their ads but when I contacted them, I was told there would be a $69.00 fee for the estimator to come out to my house.  I needed 2 estimates for a plumbing upgrade and an electrical installation so I was told I would only be charged the $69.00 once.  The techs were very nice and knowledgeable, but their estimates were actually 2-3 times higher than the amounts of other estimates I had already received.  The electrical work estimate was $1000 more! I have a feeling that this company only wants to do the big expensive jobs and can't be bothered with the small ones. I wished I had read these Yelp reviews before I called them!  Now I feel ripped off and I guess I will have to think of it as a $69.00 lesson well-learned!

Tech came to the house and said I had a leak in my system and that he recommends replacing the system given how expensive the r22 coil and coolant is now.  I asked that he provide a quote. He quoted me $2200 to replace the coil and said it would be thousands for the coolant in addition to that. Since, I have made multiple calls to price out the same equipment.  Every quote with cool and coolant has been in the $1500 range.  I called Tom Drexler And let them know I've felt like the tech was very deceiving. He was trying to sell me a new system.   I was referred to the manager of the HVAC department. That was three days ago and have yet to hear back. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I sent a website service request and no one called me. The next day I called in and the young lady was very helpful and scheduled an appointment that afternoon. After a couple hours another lady called and left a message saying they were too busy to come out and to call back for an appointment next week or maybe on the weekend. Are you kidding me??? My drains are clogged and you cancel on me which tells me you don't want my business and then say call back to schedule next week. Jarboes came out immediately and did a great job -  fast and only $93. They lost me as a customer.

Buyer's be aware...My friend who rents a house from me hired Tom Drexler's Plumbing to unclog a drain which per their own website advertises $99 but when their technician showed up he informed us per Tom since I am the landlord and am making money on the house because I am renting the house he (Tom) decided to charge the renter (my friend)  a commercial rate at $349 instead of $99 to unclog a drain. The technician felt guilty even telling me that Tom does this to renters as I of course told him to leave the property and I will hire someone with a better perspective on how to treat others. I will be sure to share this experience with my many other friends who are landlords or are looking for a plumber.

Time totally wasted. I take off work because they gave me a 4 hour window from 8-12 to come out this morning. 11:15 rolls around so I decide to call to see what's going on. The lady advises that the plumber is on a job before mine and will be coming out as soon as he is finished. 12:30 comes and still no plumber. I call again. The lady then tells me he has gone to lunch. I said OKAY??  Now what am I supposed to do?  You didn't think it was appropriate to give me a call to even let me know?  She said well we can book you in the 3-7 time slot for today. In a moment of desperation I decide to go with it. 4:45 comes and this time they do call to let me know the plumber will not be able to make it and want to know if I can reschedule for tomorrow?  I said are you kidding me??  You have totally wasted my entire day!  I won't be foolish enough to do the same thing tomorrow. Do not book them!

Don't believe the $99 drain special especially if the technician George M. shows up. They will try to triple the price while thinking about ways to add thousands to the bill. The guy seemed as though he didn't want to be here and his attitude made me not want him here, he didn't even want to see what the drain was doing.

Do not use. They lack integrity and are way over priced. I have filled out two reviews they send out and was asked  if I wanted someone at the company to call me. I responded yes and I never heard from anyone. Charged me $270 a man hour for simple job. Ridiculous. If they paid as much attention to their customers as they do their advertising there would be more satisfied customers.

November 2018: I hired Tom Drexler plumbing to unclog my main sewer drain using the coupon Unclog any drain Open Today or you don't pay. When the technician arrived, he used a broken drain cleaning tool (it is supposed to be U shaped and half of it was gone). After attempting to clear the drain, the camera tech inspected the drain and said the roots were too thick and they couldn't do anything else. After quoting me an $8500.00 repair, they took my $99 without really clearing the drain. I called customer service the next day and they said they would send me a full refund. They sent me $50.00 and kept $49.00. The next day, my drain backed up again. I rented a machine from my local hardware store and cleared the drain myself. I have not had a backup since. The $99 coupon is a sales gimmick to try to sell me sewer line replacement. It is unethical and I will never use Tom Drexler again.

Just saw a commercial for Tom Drexler, the customer looked so happy and satisfied... That's a joke. If this company starts a project for you, be sure to please take pictures. First of all, my back yard is a mess! They ripped my side walk out and it took them forever to come fix it. I went to the office and talked to a young lady, she assured me that my side walk would be taken care of. That was just to get me out of her office. I get it... Once I got home she called back and changed her tone. They fixed a portion of it, if you know what I know... DONT choose TOM DREXLER run the other way!!! In the beginning, I was faced with racism and that should have been a red flag. I was told Oh he's just like that, but  I know racism when I see it. In the end, straw was thrown all over my yard in order to cover up my broken side walk.

Called Drexel last summer to look at AC that wasn't working. Tech came out, inspected furnace and told me I needed a new one before ever looking at AC. Changed start/stop capacitor and still charged me $600. The tech said he would be back later in the week to clean AC condenser, which he never did. Yesterday, my wife called because of no heat on a different furnace. A tech looked at the furnace and told her that the inducer motor was bad I and it needed to be replaced along with 5 other parts and the cost would be $3600 . I was out of town so it was obvious to me that the tech was trying to take advantage of a woman so I had my wife call another who replaced the inducer motor for less than $500. I will never use this company again and will encourage as many people as I can not to use them.

I have requested two quotes from Tom Drexler. One was for apparent roots in a drain, the other for a gas leak.

For the roots in the drain, they said they could not do anything except building a whole new pathway, which would cost $18,000. I called another company, they came and told me I had my washer draining in the wrong place and moved it. They did not charge me, and I have no issues in a year.

For the gas leak, my Grandmother was here for the estimate which they quoted $4,000. I thought this was high and called another company, for the exact same work Drexler quoted, this plumber performed the work for $1,500. The other company even called LG&E and stayed until they turned the gas back on.

So we had a very slow draining sink...I scheduled an appt for Tom Drexler Plumbing to come out on March 13 between 3-7pm. They said they would call when they were on their way...I'm a teacher so after a long day I made it a point to be home and ready for the much anticipated phone call...at 5:51 I was told a technician was on their way, Great, I said...nine mins later they called back with, Our technician had a family emergency. Would you like to reschedule?....I waited, pondered and thought to myself, Is this the only technician they have?...a good ten seconds later I said No, we will go with someone else. I wish I could tell you the service was great and they were prompt and courteous and professional and etc,etc,etc...but I can't, hence the two stars and not five. I hope the technician is safe and all is well.

We called due to our heat not working properly. A tech came out and said our furnace and entire HVAC system needed to be replaced at a cost of $12,000! Yes, 12 thousand dollars! The next morning we called another company for a second opinion. Diagnosis: we simply needed a new fan motor. Cost $320. That is 1/40th of the cost Drexler gave us. I felt very strongly that they were trying to take advantage of the fact that I was a woman home alone. So glad we got the second opinion! We called Tom Drexler's office to report the discrepancy in price and diagnosis, but they did not admit any wrong doing. We will never use this company again!

A bit disappointing. I had a bathroom exhaust fan, heater, light combo replaced.
Very nice over the phone with scheduling. They got me scheduled for 2 days out (impressive). I received a call the next day confirming with the wrong date. They were actually able to get someone to come out that day within a few hours. The electrician was nice, didn't seem enthused about the job though and said the books going to tell me it's gonna cost you $278 if you want me to do it. Then was told, I don't have a ladder that high so they used mine.
I agreed to the price and even assisted on removing the old unit. Install went well, fan, heater and exhaust all work properly. Took less that 1 hour.
Now the disappointing part. For $278 I would expect that they would properly vent the unit to code, this why I called Drexler to do the job. The exhaust was rigged to the fan and is currently laying in my attic space for the exhaust to vent into the open attic. Hmmmm, not what I expected. So I'm off to Lowes to get the appropriate items to properly vent the unit myself. Clean up from the tech was non existent. The empty box was left in the hallway, I vacuumed up insulation and took down the ladder. Guess it was my ladder on the first place.

I recently bought a new home and needed to bring the electrical and plumbing up to code.  As such, I called and requested a few quotes from some companies.  Tom Drexler was one of them.  I liked that this company provided both services, in hopes it would make it for a smoother process.  I called and set up two appointments: electrical and plumbing.
The electrical appointment was scheduled a few days out from 5-7.  The day before the appointment I got a call from them telling me the electrician didn't work later than 5 and we would need to reschedule for an earlier time slot.  I was a bit put off but chalked it up to miscommunication and perhaps a new person.  The new time slot was now 3-5 - because of this I would have to take off work early.  The day of the appointment, around 11am, I got a call from someone saying they were the electrician and asking if they could come out now instead of from 3-5.  I told him I wasn't home and wouldn't be there until around 2 but he could come at 2.  He then requested I call the main office and reschedule my time slot when I knew when I would be home....wait, what?  You're the one that called me asking to come earlier.  I told him I didn't want to confuse the situation and that I would like to just keep the appt. time for 3pm.  He said ok and he would still probably be there by 2.  The conversation was not professional at all.   Fast forward a couple hours and I got home around 1:30 to find this man sitting in my driveway!  At this point I was very annoyed.  I have dogs and would have liked to have that extra 30 mins to get my dogs out and make sure my home was in order before this man was there.  The actual appt. wasn't bad, but wasn't great for sure.  He had a hard time understanding what I was wanting to do but at the end he got it and gave me an estimate.  It was higher than other company's estimates I received.
The next appointment was for plumbing.  Again my time slot was 5-7 and on the day of the appt., at 4pm, the main office called to tell me she didn't have a plumber that could come out.  She told me it was hard to guarantee plumbers after 5 because they get stuck on jobs - not my problem.  She told me they would have to reschedule.  I was close to cancelling the appt. all together because this is the second time this has happened - very unprofessional.  I went ahead and rescheduled for the following night.  On my way home from work I called the main office to verify exactly what time they were expecting the plumber to be over.  The lady on the phone was nice - she contacted the dispatch who contacted the plumber and he said he would be at my home no later than 6pm.  At 6:15 the plumber was not there.  I called the main office back and spoke to a different girl - very rude.  She refused to contact the plumber to ask where he was and told me the original girl I talked to should have never given me an exact time.  After arguing for several minutes about how they have already cancelled on me twice, and explaining I was concerned they would cancel again, I told her to just cancel the appt. and I would take my business elsewhere.  During the conversation I also asked for a manager to which she told me there were none there.  I hung up the phone.  About 10 minutes later I got another call.  When I answered it, miraculously there was a manager ready to talk to me....expect she wasn't professional either.  Her first words to me were, 'So are we sending out a plumber or not'.  I said absolutely not and explained everything to her.  She picked up where the other girl left off in arguing with me.  Eventually I hung up the phone.
In summary, this company is not professional, was never on time, cancelled appts, and was higher than the competition.  I'm not sure how they could still be in business.

Tom Drexler Company, Talked me into putting an High Efficiency Amana Air Conditioning Unit in One year ago. It cost me $6300 for which I am still making payments. They unit continues to have a communication problem on the wiring. They have been out at least 10 times telling me that there re-wiring should take care of it. For which it continues to have the exact same problem each time. This weekend they came out twice, put a new thermostat, Not twenty minutes after they left it went out and I have not had air conditioning all weekend. My Grandson has asthma and was spending the weekend with us and we had to give him several breathing treatments because of the heat. They said after I called they would come out first thing Monday morning. I told them I have afternoon appointments. When I called just now they scheduled for afternoon . They are the worst at remedying a problem and treating the customer fairly. They make big claims, but my experience is they don't live up to it. I would definitely not recommend their service. We moved into this house 15 months ago. We noticed last year that the air conditioner was dripping water out the back but we never got around to addressing it last year. This year it was worse and I became concerned. I tried calling the company that installed the unit in 2017 figured that would be best. Left two messages no calls back. So I called Tom Drexler who answered the phone within three minutes and had a technician at my house in a couple hours. Our technician was Brian Pollock. He was super polite, helpful and knowledgeable and knew what the problem was right away. There was an extra part that lets you know that the condensation outlet is clogged but the original installer did not put one on. Brian had the part in his truck, and he checked out the whole system including the compressor outside. I now feel much more confident after his tutorial and how my system works how to change out the filter etc. We signed up for the twice yearly maintenance as we had in our last house in South Carolina. Really makes your system last much longer and you save in the end! Very satisfied with this experience Way to go Tom Drexler

Several points in regards to this Plumber who is way over priced (CONMAN of the YEAR AWARD), I would like to say I was impressed when they first arrived, out of the 3 times, they have had to return to my house. my Wife and are in the process of selling our house, and we had a leaking kitchen faucet, that needed repair, no big deal, so we call Tom Drexler and we get an appointment, the tech shows up and states he can not fix the faucet, as it is bad, okay no problem, the faucet is over ten years old. Tech suggest we go to Lowes and get a new Faucet, and he will return the next day to replace, again no worries on this issues, we understand how it goes. Next day comes around no Tech, we call Tom Drexler, and they state, it will be following day at 9am. 9 am comes around and still no Tech, so we call back and they say we will have Tech out with in the hour, after the CS rep was very rude. Tech comes out, and attempts to install the new Faucet, Tech install new Faucet and then states it leaks, that it can not be fixed, now I have two Options here, from the tech leave the water off and go buy a new Faucet, however the catch is, TECH can not come back out until next week, or I can purchase a New Faucet from them, that is guaranteed to work, however this will cost me over $550.00 dollars, Can we say (CONMAN), so I state I can not afford $500. however I digress a little they cut off the old faucet, so it is no longer an option to reuse, long story short I paid the money, got them out of my house, only to have them back because the sink leaks. Now Tech shows up with no Tools. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
And hear I almost thought of getting a maintained plan with them for my new house.

I do not recommend this company. I made an appointment this summer to have 2 outlets upgraded from 2 prong to 3. I needed this done before new appliances arrived. They called to reschedule to a date that was not convenient for me. I called another electrician. The next time that I made an appointment to upgrade 10 outlets they called to reschedule again. I had to reschedule  due to work responsibilities. I selected from the days that they gave me and chose the 8-12 time period. No one showed up. I had to call them to find out that they were running behind. No one had come by 4:45 pm.  I told them to cancel my appointment. I wasted an entire work day waiting for an electrician.

I called and set up an appointment to have a floodlight and doorbell transformer installed. The lady flat out refused to give me any sort of cost to have this done instead insisting on doing a 'free estimate' saying if it was ok the work would be done then. So I made the appointment for the next week. The day and time came that the electrician should be at my house Well after the time the guy was supposed to be here I get a call saying that he was held up at an emergency. Ok, that happens. I remade the appointment for 2 days later and again sat here for 4 hours with a no show. Even with me calling I was told he was again running late. Now the fact that they canceled on me the first time should indicate that I would be the first call that day but nope I was again the last call and the guy was so late that I finally called and told them to forget it I had to go out.  This company very obviously does not want new customers they don't care about the people that are paying their (very high) prices. You would think that we would be number 1 but that is not the case. Give these guys a miss they are not worth the lost hours you spend waiting on them.

Scheduled an appointment a week in advance and was called back on the day of my appointment that due to other high priority appointments, I would have to reschedule mine.  I rescheduled for a week later with an appointment window of 1-4.  At 2:30 someone called and wanted me to reschedule again.  So on two separate occasions, I had to take off of work, to have my appointments cancelled on the actual day the appointment was scheduled to take place.  Very unprofessional and inconsiderate.  Would never do business again with this company.  Buyer beware

Do not use this company.  They are unprofessional and unreliable.

I had scheduled an appointment for repair work several days in advance on my one day off. They gave me an appointment window and then cancelled on the day of the appointment when I called them to see when to expect them because they were late.  I do not think they had any intention to actually contact me. The phone lady said there were more important issues than mine and I would need to reschedule for another day. Would have been nice to know that this was a not a real appointment because I could have booked with a reliable company.

Was told by a technician I had 4 cracks in my heat exchanger as well as flame rollout. Furnace was shutoff and then I was given a quote for a new furnace. Got a second opinion today. ALL LIES!! No cracks, no flame rollout. I will be filing a report with the attorney generals office as well as the department of heating inspections. This is illegal, and predatory behavior on the part of Tom Drexler. Don't trust a word they say.

My wife and I scheduled an estimate with Tom Drexler at a time and date that worked for the company and ourselves. The day came around we received a call at our appointment time where they told us they wouldn't be able to make it out. I understand things come up so I wasn't quick to judge. Once the rep was able to make it out he was very polite and professional. He explained what he was going to do, very thorough.
Once our appointment came around, 10 minutes before our appointment they called to tell us they weren't coming out. The reason they gave was because recent storms have caused people to lose running water and flooding. I understand that, but this is twice now that they called the day of our appointment,  at our appointment time to tell us we were being bumped.
Like I said I understand things happen but I find it extremely unprofessional when they call when they're supposed to be here telling us they're not coming. My wife rescheduled her day twice for this. Based on other reviews this is a common problem. I've also noticed that Tom Drexler also comments saying they apologize but apologies only go so far.
I would not recommend this plumber unless you don't mind wasting time.

Horrible service. Was told They would be with me between 3pm and 7pm. Got a call at 7:20 just to be told that if I still wanted their service it would be an additional $100 for an in call fee. So glad I took a day off work for absolutely nothing.

Josh was very professional, friendly and quickly was able to look at the job I needed to be fixed and got right to work. I live in a 75 yr old home with steel pipes attached to the sump pump still. I needed the sump pump replaced and he said he had never fixed one with steel piping and got straight to work. It took him less than an hour to replace the sump pump, make a new pvc pipe adapter to the steel pipe and reinstall the pump. Phenomenal work and very good costumer service. Great job by Tom Drexler and his great team, especially Josh

If I could give this company a zero, I would. I am only stating the facts. On December 14, 2018 heating technician number 1 came out and said we needed to have our filters changed and the unit cleaned on our furnace. This week technician 2 came out because the blower would not go off. He suggested that we needed a new furnace and we should convert to gas. He said the cost would be between 5 and $7000.On February 13 the sales person came out. He tried to sell us an $18,000 unit on sale for 16,000. We told him what technician 2 had said and he sold us a $5000 unit. He said they would convert us to gas because there was already gas in the house and would haul away  the old furnace that was left in the basement. They came to install the new furnace today. Technicians came today at 8 AM didn't know that we would convert to gas and were given no direction as to what was needed at our home. The sales person had told them nothing. After two calls to Drexler they sent out a manager. He said Gas couldn't be installed and they would come back in a couple days and install the new electric furnace. By this time my husband and I were furious. We called the company and canceled. We stated that there was so much incompetence and non-communication between the team that we would never work with them again.Upon a recommendation by a friend, we called Weber electric. They said there was no need for a new furnace that this one only needed to be cleaned. That's pretty much what the first technician at Drexler said. Do not believe the ads on TV. Stay away from this company.

We had requested that a plumber come out to do a kitchen sink installation and were quoted at $681.  This company's prices are laughably high and they hide behind the superior quality tag line.  Please don't fall for it and go with a more reasonable plumbing company.  Make sure the company you go with is licensed and reputable, so you do not get crappy work.  However, it isn't sensible for Drexler to charge so much money for very basic plumbing work.  In my opinion you can get just as good work done in the Louisville area by other company's who care more about your wallet than greedy Tom Drexler!

Jeremy was AWESOME ! My new insurance agency faced it's first plumbing issue and I'm so glad we called Tom Drexler. We had a leaky sink that also had water pressure and mold issues. Jeremy was professional and honest about the situation. I felt he clearly provided several options to fix our problem. The options covered the spectrum of price and degree of resolution. We went with the total resolution that took care of the complete problem including previously existing mold (also the most expensive). Jeremy picked up all the parts and installed them as soon as we chose an option, we didn't miss a beat. The new sink looks great and I feel a lot better knowing that my employees and I aren't breathing in mold every time we visit the restroom.

Since Tom Drexler Plumbing installed our water heater 4 1/2 years ago, I called them when our water heater stopped working.  A plumber from Tom Drexler thought since the water heater would need the cost of two parts plus labor, he advised us to buy a new water heater. Being 4 1/2 years old, I thought the water heater was under warranty.  Drexler's plumber called his office to get warranty clarification and advised us the warranty we bought from Drexler was a 10 year warranty for the water heater and 2 years for the parts, therefore the parts are not covered under warranty.

I called another company to get a price for a new water heater. This plumber said the water heater needed only one part and all parts were still under the manufacturer's warranty and I would just pay for labor. Our water heater was fixed for $200.00.

I totally felt mislead by Drexler and glad I got a second opinion!

It amazes me how rude and inconsiderate the human race has become. The common courtesy and decency of a simple return phone call, a please, thank you or even a goodbye has went out the window. Without going into extreme details of everything Bill, his family, friends and myself are currently going through we had a situation with TOM DREXLER PLUMBING during all of this. After 6 weeks of his sister calling and talking with different people Not one person picked bothered to call her back. After no return phone call I suggested going for a personal visit. Once again after requesting a return phone call that did not happen the next day like we requested and felt was ample time. I reached out to Tom Drexler personally and yes, no return phone call. I personally don't understand what happened with a simple return phone call, an email, a tweet even of an update. I guess some people think if we just ignore it they'll go away. That's not quite how I work. It's the principle!

If having to replace your water heater is necessary, I can't imagine a more pleasant version of a this type of experience. Our tech (Brad) was polite and efficient, helpful explaining options, and answered all my questions without talking down to me. He was able to diagnose the issue, remove our old heater, and put in a new one in the span of just a couple hours. We went without hot water for less than 24hours - a damn miracle, and I feel confident we won't have to deal with this issue again for a looooong time.

Wish I had read some of the reviews before getting my work done.  We had our A/C spring serviced in May. Then in July it froze over and was not working properly. Unit is 5 years old. Called out Tom Dexler employee. He said it needed a new fan which was under warranty. I was charged $ 83 for warranty handling, $ 123 to go get the part they needed??? $198 for silver maintenance plan (which I did not want) and other labor costs which brought the total to $ 530.  Pretty high for replacing a warranty part!!!!!!!  When I challenged I did not want the Silver Plan $198 I was told I did not really pay for it as the cost would have been over $900 without it. I was told it gave me a 15% discount on the work. When I went to school $900 - 15% was $765. Where they came up with the $900 without the plan ???? who knows. I would figure $530 -$198 (plan)= $332 + 15% (savings?)= $381.80 a considerable amount less than the $530 I paid.  I wish I could have run my company with this accounting. I would be a millionaire. Enough said- unless you want to be OVERCHARGED and have terrible service- don't call 1-800-TOM DEXLER.

I called Tom Drexler Plumbing yesterday (a Saturday) because I had a clogged drain. I explained to Nicholas that the drain was slow but that if the cost of having the sink unclogged on a weekend was significantly more that having the drain unclogged on a weekday I'd just  put up with the inconvenience and wait. I was assured that the cost was exactly the same 7 days a week, with no extra charges for work done on the weekend. I was pleasantly surprises and made an appt. for the following day (Sunday). When the technician arrived, he informed me that the cost of the work would be double because it was an emergency call and was on a Sunday. I called the company back, and was told that the cost of unclogging the drain was the same on a Sunday as on a weekday, but that an additional $100 charge was added for work done on a weekend (on an emergency basis). The company refused to stand behind the price that I was given and even had the nerve to suggest that because the cost of unclogging the drain was the same on a Sunday (vs. a Monday) I hadn't *technically* been misinformed. My complaint is not with Nicholas (anybody can make a mistake) or even with the technician (who was not empowered to make the decision to do the work for the price I was quoted). My complaint is with the company/management, who chose not to accept responsibility for the mistaken information and honor the price I was given. Bad management at best, shady business practices at worst. Never again.

Don't use these guys unless it is an emergency.  They are very high, 40% - 80% than other plumbing companies.  I own 4 homes and over the years have made many contacts.  I have called them 3 times and all the quotes were much higher and one quote was a wrong diagnosis of the problem.  I would have spent an extra 500 bucks with them and then would of had an additional bill to repair the hole in the wall they were wanting to cut.  They have a very systematic approach to making as much money  off of every service call. Shop around and find a quality plumber with fare pricing.

Had clogging in my pipes and was not able to flush toilet. Called Tom Drexler plumbing and they came right out. They ran a snake down the toilet and said it was clogged.  Which I already knew that!  The guy told me it would cost 5 thousand dollars to fix it and if they had to pull the wood floors up it would be 10-20 thousand!  I was shocked and beside myself not having that kind of money to fix this.  They charged me 390 dollars pretty much for nothing and I felt taken advantage of being a single mom. I called another plumbing company they can out and just laughed when I told them what Tom Drexlers plumbers said.  They ran a machine through the pipes, unclogged it and charged me 250 dollars.  Two months later no problems.  When Drexlers came out it only lasted 3 weeks.  So in a short period of time I paid almost 700 dollars to unclog my pipes. I decided to call Drexlers to tell them about my experience and the lady said they had coded my bill wrong in the first place.  They sent me back 130 dollars which I appreciated.  But the drama they caused in telling me 5000 to 20,000 to unclog my pipes was terrible.  I would never ever ever ever recommend this place

On October 16th, we had an appointment for a running toilet in a home we had just purchased. When we were billed at the end of the appointment for $583, it seemed high. However, we had no experience with issues like this in the past, and by this point the service was completed, so we felt we had no choice but to go ahead and pay. Two months later, we had the same issue with another toilet. At the suggestion of a neighbor, we called another plumber. They serviced 3 other toilets in our house for $244. When we told them how much me paid for our last service appointment, they knew automatically that Tom Drexler must have been the culprit. According to this plumber, Drexler is known for excessive billing ... especially when the man of the house is not present for an appointment (as was the case with us)

1/7/15 UPDATE - I strongly refute the claim that they are trying to correct this problem. We've made this same complaint multiple times directly to Tom Drexler, as well as on different social media outlets. NOT ONCE has the company tried to contact us or rectify the matter. Their apology is a PR stunt to help their online reputation in my opinion. In fact, if you look at their other apologies on this site, it is the exact same verbiage with the exception of a few words here and there

1/12/15 UPDATE - in response to Tom Drexlers claim that they spoke with the customer's spouse, that too is a lie. I double-checked with mith my wife and she never received any follow up correspondence from Drexler, or any attempts to clear up this matter. And again, if you look at their latest apology, it is the same one they use on other websites to respond to customer complaints. I'm glad to see that their unpaid intern has learned how to use the copy and paste function on Microsoft Word.

My first experience with the has been terrible. I called them on a Saturday morning to set up an appointment for the $99 drain special. I was told I would be placed on the standby list and would likely get it resolved that day prior to 8pm. The attendant assured me if it was not resolved same day, she had me on the schedule for Sunday morning between 8am and 12 noon. I received a call at 830 am by jay, informing me that they would not be coming and I could reschedule for Monday. She had an attitude and condescending tone as though their poor scheduling was my fault. I expressed my concerns as well as disappointments considering I had cancelled my previous appointment I had set up with another plumbing company for this morning since they agreed to come for one set rate. I asked to speak with a manager and was told no one was there on the weekends. This is poor business and unprofessional. After reading some of the other reviews, I'm not surprised. They are are large local company who seemingly take advantage of customers. The smaller businesses are the way to go. ***EDIT*** After all of the issues mentioned above, I never heard from a manager. I called again, spoke with Susan who seemed to want to provide resolution. She put me on hold after 20 minutes of conversing, Jay, whom I originally spoke with picked up and started making excuses for why a manager had not contacted me and continued to dismiss what happened earlier. After much conversation, she finally offered to send someone after 8 pm, would waive the additional after hours fee and add an additional 50% off of the cost. The technician called after 10pm, was unaware of any of the mentioned discounts and reiterated that the additional fees would apply. This is by far one of the worst experiences I have encountered. Steer clear of this terrible company. Incompetent and rude.

We had a very significant repair on our sewer system. Chad and his group worked diligently to get this done in a short time. The job included using a jackhammer on our basement floor, tearing out some of our finished walls and digging in the front yard. Through the whole process Chad, Steven and the others explained everything that was happening and kept us up to date. They were very courteous and pleasant. They went out of the way to make sure we were pleased with how the jobsite looked when they left. I recommend them to everyone now.

I used Tom Drexler for a bathroom remodel. Their work is great, but the company has no sense of organization, scheduling, and checking ordered items from the manufacturer. During our remodel and installation the workers noticed the wrong bathroom vanity came in (bigger size than it needed to be) so they had to re-order. They told me this would take about 2 weeks to come in and they would call me to schedule and finish the bathroom. After multiple calls to the company after two weeks to see if the vanity came in, no one had any information for me except that the vanity was not there. Finally after a month the correct vanity came in and the workers came out to install. After showing me the bathroom, I noticed the side panel for the vanity (so it would match the front) was not there. The side was brown and the front was grey. The workers did not even notice or choose not to say anything. I had to call and get another panel ordered for the vanity and was told again it would take two weeks to come in. Two and a half months later I am still waiting to get the panel installed to my vanity in the bathroom. A remodel that was supposed to take 5 days is now at two and a half months without completion. Absolutely ridiculous! I will not use Tom Drexler for a remodel ever again.

After they rescheduled my first appointment, the technician showed up, and fixed a pipe.  I wanted an estimate on a new 1/2 bath installation.  The technician identified a pipe in the basement leading to my furnace as the Main line!  When I pointed out that it goes to the furnace, and is not a plumbing line, he stated oh, I didn't really look. In the basement, he removed some insulation from a crawl space door, not in the area needed,   I told him not to do that, he put it back, but a few minutes later he went over and took it off again !   He then proceeded to tell me that my kitchen sink  and my laundry room was in a different area than they are, and , again, I had to point out the plumbing lines.  He then said a 1/2 bath was not possible.  The half bath area is in the laundry room on the other side of the bathroom.  (Another company has been hired to put in the 1/2 bath,  No problem. ).  He was not able to remove a faucet in the main bathroom and I had to call and request another appointment with a different tech.  Of course,  they couldn't make it , as they were dealing with all the flooding in Louisville.  As they are the only ones in Louisville who heard about any flooding ( lies, lies, lies),  they wanted to reschedule.  I don't think so.  Don't waste your time with this company.

If you are a Realtor do not use Tom Drexler to do your repairs.  They will NOT put buyers name on paperwork and if there is a problem with any of the work after the closing the new buyer has no recourse because everything is in the previous seller's name.  I've been putting the buyer's name on all my repairs for years and never have had a problem with a contractor, electrician or plumber doing this.  We almost didn't have a closing because of this.  Thank goodness the buyers and sellers were able to come to an agreement and we were able to close.  They only backed up their work for 3 months.  Find somebody else, they will be cheaper and you will not have this problem.  I guess they don't want to stand behind their work, why else would they not want to do this simple task.

I had Tom Drexler come to my house to fix a 1ft section of my sewer main and put in a clean out. I had already dug up the pipe, so this job would probably take 1 hour.  They originally priced this work at well over $2000. From the look on my face, the guy quickly started dropping the price. They eventually offered $1184. I called another plumber who did the work for $500. That's right...1/4 of Drexler's original price. I am a 24 yr old female homeowner. I feel confident that they were planning on playing my (appeared) ignorance. I will say that the employee that came to my house was very nice and professional. It is not his fault. I assume the company advertises $99 unclogging services and then when any other work needs to be done, they already have people's business so they offer outrageous prices. I would recommend that you go to a hardware store and ask for a small independent plumber recommendation.

Do not go thru Tom Drexler for bathroom remodels! They are WAY OVERPRICED! For the price they quoted me on new bathroom vanities, I was able to get the EXACT SAME vanities (same cabinet manufacturer Bercht) plus custom mirrors for $2,500 less at Re-Bath! Plus their sales process is as if you are buying a used car, not doing a remodel.  They will haggle down the price to try to get you to commit before walking out the door and having time to think about it! Not the way I do business, especially when it is as something as big as a bathroom remodel project.

Our Service Tech Jeremy Uptain was very professional, polite and very neat in his appearance, along with a great attitude.
I drove around the neighborhood and saw that he completed service on our neighbors. We needed someone quickly and after calling his office they oked him to service our pipe leaks, Of which he did da good job!

My problem was that we felt that due to our somewhat emergency needs we were over charged by Several $$ hundred dollars. I will NOT be recommending your company in which I am one of two residents who other residents call for recommendations for your type of services.

I recently had a wonderful experience with Tom Drexler plumbing. A wonderful experience is very rare in this industry. I've had two other plumbers come out to my home for the same issue, and neither of them resolved the problem. I called Tom Drexler plumbing and they answered the phone on the second ring. They answered a few of my questions and were able to schedule an appointment within two days. The morning of the appointment someone from the company called to confirm the appointment and they also emailed me a photo of who would be coming to my home. I thought that was a very nice touch. Jimmy was our service technician. He was friendly and was good with the kids, who are running around in circles. He identified the problem quickly, and took care of it in about 35 minutes. He even took care of another small leak we were having while he was already there. Probably the biggest surprise was there was no mess to clean up when he left. I have enough trouble cleaning up after myself. Thanks Jimmy! From now on when friends ask me for a good plumber, i'll tell them to call the plumber with the name in his number.

set up appt online with their form.  Entered cell phone number etc so they could contact me.  Received email from them saying I would see rep at the time I chose.  Sat.  Waited.  No rep.  Called in like 12 minutes before end of the two hour window I had selected.  They had a phone number in their system I had over 7 years ago.  They did not update phone from the online form I completed and no rep was going to come.  they said rep would be here next a.m. between 8 and 9.  I am writing this at 9:17 because I have now sat TWO different days waiting on a rep and he is a NO SHOW.  When I called in to complain they seemed to not care at all that they had inconvenienced me twice and were losing a customer.

Do not waste your time...my husband took off work to accommodate their FOUR HOUR appointment window. They said they would be at our house between 12-4pm. My husband missed a call from them and ten minutes later they left a message saying our appointment was cancelled because he didn't answer the phone. When my husband called back they said they would put us back on the schedule and send somebody out at 4. By 4:30 no one had arrived...so we called back again...The customer service supervisor said oops that was our mistake- a mixup on their end and there was some confusion between their CSR and the dispatcher. We could re- schedule to the following afternoon at 4. Once again, my husband leaves work early to be home for this second appointment. Lo and behold... 4:30pm and they call us AGAIN saying they can't make it because they are busy and won't be able to come until second shift arrives at 8pm!!!!!  We said no thanks. Absolutely poor customer service and no follow through! Infuriating!

I called Tom Drexler Plumbing, etc., on Tuesday, October 13 to make an appointment for Saturday, October 17, 2015 between 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.  Five days in advance.  I received a call from Tom Drexler at 10:55 a.m. on October 17, asking if I could meet with the plumber in a matter of minutes.  Unfortunately, I couldn't because I had other plans -- that's why I made the appointment between 1:00 - 3:00.  No one called to give me a status update, so around 3:15 I called to ask what was going on.  I was advised that the technician was running late, and I should be receiving a call in the next 30-40 minutes from the technician.  That did not happen.  I called at 4:00 asking the status, and was advised the technician was leaving a different city and was headed to my home, and that dispatch would be calling me soon.  NONE OF THIS HAPPENED.  I made an appointment 5 DAYS prior to the scheduled appointment, and nothing was honored.  I was then called after 5:00 p.m., stating that there was an emergency call for someone with small children.  Ok, I am a single mother with a child.  They asked if I could reschedule for tomorrow, Sunday, October 18.  If I conducted business like this -- I would be fired.  They never called within the 2 hour window, instead they called two hours AFTER the appointment window.  Very bad business practices.  At this point, I will be more than willing to pay extra money to a business on a Sunday if they actually show up.

Terry H., Dan W., Tommy H., and Al F. were all very professional and provided excellent service and work.  They all went above and beyond to help fix our issue. We will definitely use Tom Drexler in the future.

The remodeling portion of this company is Terrible, sloppy work, miss appointments, they sure will take your money but when it comes to do repair work on their sloppy work, they drop you like a hot potato.  I should have gone with someone else that wouldn't waste my time.

PLEASE BEWARE. Would NOT recommend electric division.
Told free to diagnose problem, not in my case. The technician stared at ceiling fan,
indicated it could be several problems. Wouldn't know until he looks at it. Quick trip
up ladder, twist to remove cover to wiring,  look at wiring, remove wall switch.
This was considered work involving tools and labor, thus resulting in fee of
$172 w/no resolution(coupon of $44 applied after complaint)Quoted ADDITIONAL cost of $313 to install new fan, not incl. cost of fan that I would provide. I questioned technician, he became confrontational. I was very uncomfortable.  Found myself apologizing for my reaction to the fee & questioning charges. I called to voice what happened, customer service offered to refund amount, while indicating they considered charges fair for the work the technician supplied.
The technician gave different version of events. I was told he had to take the fan apart. This did not happen other than what I indicated above. The only wrongdoing admitted on their part was miscommunication between myself & their company regarding what is considered diagnosic. Instead of full refund, I requested partial, that we meet in the middle, because I was made to feel that I was in the wrong, they supplied service. I felt like a deadbeat questioning why I was charged.

Terrible customer service. My house had repair work done using his company during the closing on my new house by previous owners. The work was supposed o have a one year warranty. This company keeps making excuses and saying they didn't receive payment from previous owners. My realtor called and found out that it was paid and I do have a warranty. I call back to schedule repairs on the poor work they performed. They again tell me that they can't repair because account balance wasn't paid. I explained that my realtor just called and verified that it was paid. I was told to have my realtor call to schedule my repairs! Now the faucet has been leaking under the cabinets for 2 days because they don't know what they are talking about! I would never recommend this company. Bad morals, poor quality of work and employees that don't know how to deal with the public! Find someone else if you are looking not have a hassle!

Sunday night as I walked through the basement to throw some food in the freezer I heard that squishing sound that could only mean trouble.  The soaked carpet led to the discovery of a leak in a copper pipe located in our utility closet.  I shut off the water main and called Tom Drexler hoping that someone could come right away.    Within a few minutes of my initial call, Michael D called to say he was on his way.  When Michael arrived he quickly went to work and identified the location of the pinhole leak.  He provided a reasonable estimate and then proceeded to replace the failed section of pipe.  Although I wasn't thrilled about being hit with a surcharge, I do understand it was a Sunday night and was pleased with the prompt repair and the quality of work.  This is the third time I have used Tom Drexler and each has been a positive experience.

Our water heater went out on Easter Sunday and I called that evening hoping to only leave a message and get a cll back on Monday. To my surprise I got a call almost immediately and an appointment scheduled for 11am the next day.  Monday morning we got a call asking if we were available earlier and the technician, John Bailor, was ther at 9am.  He did a great job of replacing the water heater, fixing an outside faucet, and installing some new shut off valves.  Great job John and Tom Drexler!  I've found my favorite plumbing company!
