Gary is great and comes to the house quickly in emergencies.  We has helped us twice with sump pumps.  He replaced a water heater and replaced our outdoor spicket. He is friendly abe professiona.

I thank the Lord for Gary!!!!!! my outside fixture had been leaking all fall and winter...I told him how the guy from Angie's List came and looked at the job, made up and excuse and left....I told him how i had been stood up twice, but he came on time, gave me a killer deal and finished within an hour!!! An angel sent from God!!!

Our 74 year old home had some plumbing issues to address.  I contacted Gary with a moderate list of items to repair or replace.  He asked for photos to be texted and he provided an equitable proposal.

Jobs:
Replaced the dripping outdoor spigot with a new frost-free one
Replaced the tub spout and replaced the worn washers to stop the dripping
Replaced the parts in the toilet so it flushes properly
Replaced a section of copper pipe that had a pin hole leak
Replaced the old wall mount kitchen faucet

Gary provided me 15 minute window when he would arrive. He was spot on and arrived within that time.  That is some great time management skills!

Son, Matthew, and Gary arrived, removed their shoes at the door (nice touch) and began working.  Within a short period of time the only job that remained was the old wall mount faucet.  As expected, it was not going to go without issue.  Gary told me that he needed a part to complete the job (some part behind the wall) and he would go to Canton to pick up the part and would return later that evening.  He soldered caps on the exposed pipes, allowing us to have water in his absence.  True to his word, he returned later and completed the job.

I highly recommend Gary's Plumbing.  The work was completed timely, everything was left neat and tidy (he uses a lemon scented cleaner too), no more dripping, and all for a reasonable price.  You will not be disappointed.

I've worked with Gary now twice in the last few months, first to have 2 toilets changed and then to replace my water heater. On both occasions he was incredibly responsive and lightning quick with his work. He and his sons swapped the two toilets in an hour, and the same with the water heater. In and out, no mess. For the water heater, I texted him at 7PM on a Sunday night and they were out with a new one at 9AM the next morning. I can't say enough good things about Gary and his sons. Highly recommend.

I recently installed a new toilet on my own and found it was leaking (sporadically) at the base. Called Gary and loved that I got through to a human answering service (not a VM).  I was able to set up time, one week out, for him to check it out. He arrived when stated and understood the problem immediately. He shared the price quote to fix it (VERY reasonable) and within 30 minutes he remove the toilet, fixed the issue, and replaced the toilet.

Gary was patient in explaining why the problem occurred and didn't make me feel like an idiot for my original installation.

Efficient, competitive pricing, personable, and trustworthy!  Will continue to use him again for ANY plumbing needs and I recommend him highly.

Side note: He was not phased at all by my small, yippy dog!

I needed to replace my 15 year old water heater.

My first phone call went to a voice mail and he returned the call that evening. He had the 8 year warranty unit. I wanted the 12 year one from Homedepot. He got me what I wanted for couple hundred more. Still the best quote i got for this unit installed.

They were in and out in about 2 hours.. They covered the floors and stairs with a tarp. Removed my old heater and replaced some vent tubes also, and also the HVAC unit vent tubes to match..

Gary and crew are the absolute BEST!  They have been out to my house for a few jobs and they always went above and beyond the service that was requested at no extra cost.  Gary is great with communication - letting you know the cost of the job and when he plans on being there.  If he's running late due to traffic (hello Ann Arbor), he lets you know.  Seriously, if you are in his service area and need some plumbing work done, give him a call.  You won't regret it.

I had a mystery leak resulting in water on my kitchen floor and Gary offered to come and check it out for free in order to determine a quote to fix it. Prior to his arrival I checked everything and couldn't find what was leaking. Gary arrived right on time and was able to solve the mystery after about 15 minutes of investigation. The result was that he said I could fix it myself because it was a very simple job. Didn't cost me a penny!

I ended up hiring him to come back to replace a shut off valve that I found was faulty. Again, he and his son arrived right on time and were in and out in 15 minutes. Great job. Great price. Very trustworthy.

If you need a plumber in this community of Plymouth/canton, you need to go to this wonderful guy! He's not out to charge you without any sensitivity to your situation. In fact, he didn't want to charge us for a few things that I thought should have!! . He's a good guy and because of that will get repeat business from us forever. Honest, polite, communicative by either phone or texting. This is exactly the kind of plumber that we were looking for. I don't know if it's fair to say this, but it's true: old country plumber! Not some big business with lots of trucks who doesn't care at all about you.

By the way, did I say that he knows his stuff? Well, needless to say, he's excellent.

I'm very pleased with the service i received today - my outside faucet has leaking for months.  I've tried calling a bigger business and basically blow me off; so of course i gotten discourage to get it fixed.  Hey at least my dogs had fresh water outside during the hot months but now as it's getting colder - then this could cause a serious problem if i don't get it fixed before it freezez during the weather.  After researching on Yelp (of course) - I found fellow yelpers with positive reviews so i reached out.  I was able to set an appointment the following week; he arrived 10 mins/greeted me with a smile and even before that I received a notification via text 45mins to confirm the appointment.  I'll will be using for future work if needed and also used for my parents/grandparent house as well.

Once again Gary has been reliable and provided excellent service.  My parents had a water pipe burst due to the cold weather.  I called Gary and he responded quickly and took care of it.  My mom asked him to fix two other plumbing issues while he was at our home too.  Gary has been the most reliable plumber I've had experience with, usually other companies take too long to respond or just difficult to deal with.  I would definitely recommend him.

Gary did a couple of jobs for me and I was satisfied both times.  He explained what needed to be done and completed the work in a reasonable amount of time.  I would use him again.

Gary and Matt did a fantastic job on our outdoor and indoor plumbing. They had great communication, diligently texted and came on time. Gary and his son are professionals, but not only that, they leave the work site as if no work was ever performed. Spotless. Price is more than reasonable.

Scheduling is easy. You call the service, the lady takes your number and Gary shortly calls you back asking if you still need a plumber. After a description of the job and a text message with pictures Gary provides a quote. On one of the three items Gary said he will not know until he sees the issue. We agreed Gary will quote on the spot. Gary has a flexible schedule, in my case it was not urgent, and we set a date and time.

Shortly before the appointment I received a call telling me Gary is on his way. At the appointment time, not a minute early or a minute late, the doorbell rings. Gary and his son are at the door.

I had two faucets (Moen for life) to replace and that odd third job I mentioned. Gary and his son got to the faucets right away. The job was done perfectly. One of the faucets required more work, all was done quietly and swiftly.

After the faucets were replaced Gary and his son got a vacuum cleaner and some rags and left the work area at both faucets spotless. Probably cleaner then it was before.

Gary looked at the third item, and said there is some risk. We both agreed it is not worth it, and I thought I would leave it as is. Later, between Gary and myself and idea popped up. Gary thought it is worth a try and went to get a replacement part. By now you know it is needless to say the third job was completed as well, again, perfectly done.

I asked Gary how much would the third one cost and Gary said, just pay for the part.

The whole job was reasonably priced to begin with, and complete with in 2-3 hours.

I am pleased with Gary and his son's work. Upon leaving, Gary was so thorough, that he took all of the old faucets with him, and the packaging of the new ones, nothing left behind.

I strongly recommend Gary and his son, and will cal them again if a plumbing job is required!

I have a house in Canton, MI. Gary came to fix my burst pipe and looked at my sump pump. Good honest guy, said nothing was wrong with my sump pump running continuously. Was just excessive water from melted snow, could have charged me $ and I wouldn't know not necessary. He double checked his work and took photo for me.

The father and son team are fantastic!   Very friendly and neat.   We had a leaking toilet gasket which they replaced along with the water shutoff valve.  

In our laundry room they replaced both shutoff valves for the washer.  All the items were 18+ years old and needed to be replaced.  The cold water valve was leaking.  

Gary called to confirm the problem and was on time.   The repairs costs were very reasonable.

Please support local tradesman in our area.  Gary's son will take over the business I'm guessing and he is learning what customer satisfaction is all about - from the best teacher- his dad

I had to replace an outside faucet that was dripping.  I looked in Yelp to find a plumber and saw Gary's reviews.  I called him and set a date for the work to be performed.  He did a great job and he cleaned up after he was through.

We've been using Gary since we moved into our home in 2014. He and his son are professional and knowledgeable. They both do great work and they help us find the best solution to fix the problem which wasn't always meant more work/money for them. We trust them no matter what the problem and they have our business for life.

Huh.  Wish i could say i had good service from this company.... but i never got a call back to try him out.  

Called on Monday for a bath tub faucet leak.  Usually we would try to fix this but since we just got the tub reglazed and that guy have us a strict caution about the sensitivity of the tub we figured we would give this guy a try.... you know,  a professional. ..
Phone rang forever.  A total dingbat picked up the phone and asked what i wanted. ... huh? What a nice greeting.

I gave a quick explanation of the situation to which she responded so you want to have your tub reglazed?  I was very confused about this lady... apparently had a listening problem.  So i repeated that i had a leak i wanted to get fixed. She explained that she didn't get it..... not sure what there was to get.

She asked for my information... multiple times.

And then asked me to spell Canton.... sad for a company based in C-a-n-t-o-n.
Never got a call back.... cant say we didn't try to keep our business local!

Gary answered his phone himself when I called about an estimate and had me send a picture of the problem with a leak on our sump pump line. He gave me a quote over the phone for a reasonable price. He did the work the next day. He arrived early after verifying we were home and did good work. He's highly recommended.

Had an estimate done today, I chose to call Gary's based on the stellar reviews and I am very pleased I did. Satisfied w/how fast he & his nice son got here to quote me an estimate on my water heater issue, they were right on schedule and very courteous! He quoted me fairly on par w/how excelling I feel his services will be once we have them return to do the work. You generally get what you pay for, and I'd rather pay for quality service done right the first time, with a good warranty by someone giving me an honest/fair quote than to try to find the 'cheapest' deal out there. He even took the time to look at other concerns I had within the spectrum of services he provides. I will update after I've had the needed work done but wanted to review the great customer service I received today.

Being new to an area doesn't help when looking for reliable services, so sometimes you just have to take a chance at what you think is the right choice. I wasn't happy with the first plumbing service after being charged what I thought was WAY too much for a small and quick job, so I decided to find a different option for when I needed it in the future. This time, I really did my homework and found Gary's Plumbing through Yelp and other references. I have never felt the urge to write a review on a service provider until now, but Gary and his son deserve my five stars and then some.

Since we moved into the area in 2012, we've relied on Gary numerous times for jobs big and small. Besides the repairing of leaky pipes, faucets or toilets, Gary's friendly customer service approach shined when he was able to advise us on our options for bigger jobs, including the different options we had for installing a back-up sump pump. Gary provided us with easy-to-understand information which helped us make an informed decision of going with a water-powered sump pump. That was a decision that we will never regret, because literally three days later, we were without power for two days. With a battery-powered sump pump, we could have been at risk for that failing if the battery ran down, but instead the pump worked like a charm and we had no worries at all.

With this terrible winter of 2014, Gary has been extremely responsive in emergency situations such coming out to fix our blown pipe over our garage. He has been busy this winter fixing many similar situations like ours, surely working overtime, but despite that he always greets us with a smile on his face and makes us feel like we are his most important customer.

If you are looking to find a reputable plumber who puts the customer first over making a quick buck, I really recommend that you give Gary a call. You WON'T be disappointed. Oh, and that goes for his prices too. I wish all businesses and contractors in the services industry were like Gary.

P.S. For the two of you who have had bad luck with the answering service and long rings during off hours, I will say that on one occasion it has taken longer than normal for them to pick up, but at that point I already knew I wouldn't go to anyone else, so I just waited until they answered. I've never had them put me on hold, that's unusual. I'd suggest trying again in a few minutes, as frustrating as that may sound -- he really is worth it. I haven't run into that situation regularly though (and unfortunately with the plumbing issues I've had this winter, I've had to call him a lot). Don't bother. Bad listener. Gary returned my call to fix sump pump which was spraying water from the pipe onto basement floor. On his voice message, said he does not drive from north canton to south novi (18 minute drive map quest) so call someone else. Lastly, Gary said if the water is spraying within the sump pump that its suppose to do that. Really ?Duh !... Geez imagine that ! water sprays within the sump pump....

Gary was really quick in responding and great about following up. I appreciated his professionalism and kindness. I would definitely contact him in the future; he is the real deal.

Gary, the owner, read my review on here. We talked about what happened and he felt horrible that it happened. He never had a record of my phone call (so maybe the operator deleted it?). He was unaware of it until my post.

He offered to fix the problem free of charge. Since it was an emergency, of course, I already had the problem fixed. He then offered to reimburse me for the cost of the plumbing service, which was $203. I received his check through the mail.

I have had Gary replace my hot water heater, a toilet, faucets inside and outside, and an insta-hot. Today he replaced my sump pump. He has an answering service and Gary calls back within a day unless it is an emergency. He arrives on time, quotes the price, cleans up afterwards. Very pleasant guy who does reliable work. Cost is much better than the big companies.

Had leaking issues from water shut valve and lines under the kitchen sink.  Searched for a good plumbing service and read great reviews here at Yelp and Home Advisor too.  Called Gary and got scheduled right away for next day, they arrived before the scheduled time and  went right to work and replaced valves and lines quickly, tested then found the faucet was also leaking, Gary went and got the parts from store quickly and installed new kitchen faucet.  Great work done at very reasonable cost.  The bonus is they are also very nice and professional too!  I will definitely call Gary again for future plumbing services!

I have used Gary for several plumbing problems I have had over the past 5 years. His workmanship and pricing is great. He responds quickly when called and is a great problem solver. His advice has saved me time and money. I highly recommend him.

Thought my in-sink garbage disposal had died.  It was suddenly churning water and bits of vegetables and making a weird sound, and the water took forever to drain out of the sink.  Gary and Son to the rescue!  Turns out it was a clogged drain and not the disposal at all.  The disposal is just fine.  And once again, I was aware that Gary could have told me the disposal was shot and charged me for a new one.  But he didn't--he and his son cleared the drain, installed a new pipe-y thing-y, and were done in half an hour, and, as always, they left everything as clean as when they arrived.  All this for a very reasonable price.

Whenever I need a plumber, I am so grateful that Gary is in the area.  He is just great!

Called with an issue, he talked me through it over the phone, and basically told me to save my money, I had already done everything he would have to address the issue. Refreshing honesty. Will definitely go back to him for all of my plumbing issues. Trust is worth a lot for customers!

I had been working on my very old bathroom in my house I moved to last year and got stopped by plumbing issues beyond the basics. In middle of replacing 1976 toilet (5 gal. per flush!) and leaky old supply line/valve, I pulled toilet and found cracked ring underneath.  I had also replaced tub drain and overflow but the shower handles were soldered on and no access panel or welding knowledge! Gary had no problem coming into the middle of my mess, instructing me what he would do to continue repairs/replacement, and quoting me an exact price for the work.  He and his son were professional, efficient, nice as could be and, even though they nicely did extra for me, they kept to exact price quoted.  Highly recommend!

Very satisfied. We needed a kitchen faucet installed. Gary was the first company I called based on all the great reviews. I really appreciated that he gave me a price for install over the phone whereas the other places wanted to schedule an appointment to estimate costs which I thought was silly since it's just a faucet install.  When I called Gary back to schedule install he came out that very day!  It was so fast and he did a great job. Very professional and friendly. We love our new faucet and will def be calling Gary in the future.

I have used Gary for years now from everything to installing the water line in my new fridge to replacing toilets and shower cartridges. He even helped me winterize my house one year when I moved for a few months during the winter. He is extremely reasonable and outstanding at what he does. I would never use another plumber. Wish we could contact Gary for a quote on his services but the phone rings and rings and then he answering service places you on hold.  They may do great work but not if you can not contact them.

I recently purchased a foreclosed home with an abundance of plumbing issues.  After amateur hours was over (fixing what plumbing I could) I started my search for a local plumber to finish up.  I found Gary on here and to be honest was a little reluctant to call because an abundance of 5 star ratings can be a red flag.  But after scrutinizing the reviews, I decided to give Gary a call.  Gotta be honest, Gary's laid back demeanor on the phone made me a little hesitant but decided to give him a try, glad I did.  I needed a faucet replaced on Jacuzzi tub, a shower diverter retrofitted for a shower system and a sump pump drain repaired.  After he arrived we discussed the job, he gave me a price and got to work.  He stopped periodically to explain what he was doing and made me aware of any deviations from the original plans as they came up. Very professional.  I highly recommend Gary's Plumbing.

Could not recommend more. Gary replaced my hot water heater, cleared some drains, and replaced multiple shutoffs. I was surprised to see some 1 star reviews here but then I read them and they are all associated with call back concerns. Not sure what to tell those people. Maybe be a little patient?

I hired Gary to replace a 50 gal water heater. He and his son came over at 9 and were done by 11:30pm. They were hundreds of dollars less than next best quote. They laid down tarps, cleaned up afterwards, and hauled away the old tank. They were very professional and did a great job. I highly recommend them if you are looking for a quality plumber at a great value.
