Mcconnell Plumbing and Heating

I have had 2 small jobs done by Ken and also by one of his guys and both times they turned out great and I was very happy;  granted these were not huge jobs but I would not hesitate to call Ken if and when I do have a huge job!!!

I am deleting my 2nd edit re:  my kitchen faucet as I had it put in a 2nd time by a different plumber and it broke again.  I have an old sink that is really hard to find a faucet that fits into it so the fact that Ken got one to fit at all is pretty remarkable.

We have used Mcconnell a few times now for both emergent and non-emergency services.  I can't speak enough to how professional, clean, knowledgable and nice they are.  They are quite responsive and pleasant to work with.  They also take the time to explain to you what they are doing and why they are doing it.  A+ for Kenney and Ken!

I called them at 6:45am after a near-zero night without heat because our gas-fired steam boiler was not turning on.  They said they would be here between 8 and 9 am and turned up around 8:15 as promised.  They listened to us when we told them the things we had done to troubleshoot the system, what the results were, and then went right to the source of the problem.  They had the part on hand and got the heat back on in a half hour.  Excellent and prompt service!

Long story short, He made the right diagnosis but way overcharged charged for a short 15 minute (at most) visit.  I could understand if it was off hours or a holiday but this was a regular weekday call to a location that was local to him and he didn't have to use any materials.  Just suggested what the problem was and left after charging me $200.  

Buyer beware!

The circulator pump in our 10 year old condensing hot water boiler went bad.   Ken called back ASAP, next day we had a visit from the team and the hot water was back in service.    Excellent, service, trust-worthy company.

Ken and his team did a great job with our gas conversion.  He was always clear with the timelines and what was happening next, had me copied on a receipt for one of the pieces of equipment, and didn't add in any extra charges.  One of the vendors was also getting to our house very early in the morning and he emailed me to give me a heads up just in case.  Definitely did a very thorough job and made the whole process so much easier for us (it was our first home project), which is more than I can say for the gas company.  We will definitely use him and his team for any more plumbing needs!

Nice enough, but the crew did a faulty repair of a radiator valve/pipe.  Would not respond to my requests to return to make good on their error.  The result caused (minor) damage to my hardwood floor.  I eventually had to pay another plumber (now my new plumber) to come and fix the problem.  The aggravation/damage/duplicate cost is not enough to go to small claims court over, but...I would think, if nothing else, that a person - in any chosen occupation - would stand behind his/her work out of pride, professionalism and simple courtesy.  Caveat emptor.

I was very happy with the work completed by Ken and his team.  I had an old and unreliable heating system that I wanted replaced.  I contacted 3 plumbers who came to look at the project.  They were all about the same price but we went with Ken as he could do the work almost immediately as I had requested.  His team worked very quickly and he was responsive to my questions.  The new system is more efficent and working well.  

About a month later we wanted to add a second spigot in our back yard so I contacted Ken again.  I was also pleased with this project as well.

Used these guys to fix a problem with our Nest - happened to be a defect with the thermostat.  Very helpful.

Great service!!!  I had called another plumber that came recommended and never received a call back!  Ken's team came right away and fixed our leaky toilet!  HIGHLY recommend!

Ken did a big installation for us, replacing our old on-demand boiler that was a piece of junk with an upgraded unit, a $12,750 project.   Did a great job of guiding me on selecting the right boiler for our needs, and his extensive installation work is so beautiful that other contractors remark on it!  Worked clean and efficiently.

His skills beyond actual plumbing:  excellent communications, dependable, responsive.  Not the cheapest, but an excellent value for his workmanship. Highly recommended without reservation.
