Daniel Wright Plumbing & Heating

When I need a plumber, I always call Daniel Wright and I am never disappointed.  He is a friendly, trustworthy, highly skilled professional who provides quality work at a very fair price.  Knowing I can call an excellent plumber, when I have a problem gives me peace of mind.

This was our second time calling on Dan to help us with some plumbing issues. The first was a bit over a year ago to fix a broken shower valve, and he was prompt, thorough, and clear about pricing. He gave me details about what to expect and was responsive to my questions. It was a solid job with no issues before, during, or after the instillation. Most recently, we called Dan about changing out our water heater, which had broken and flooded our basement. He was again reliably thorough in explaining our options and very responsive to my emails. He was able to come out quickly and did another solid job. Dan is a true professional, and we plan to call him for our future plumbing needs.

They must be rolling in the dough! I called twice and never received a call back.  Business must be SOOO good that they can afford to turn away new customers.

After becoming fed up with the various plumbers I've worked with over the last few years, I turned to Yelp admittedly as a last resort and came across Dan's profile as I needed a price for an oil to gas boiler conversion at my residence.  While other plumbers were either no-shows or insanely over-priced, Dan was able to take a look and provide me with a very fair quote within a couple days.  I eventually hired Dan for the job and have been recommending him to friends ever since.

Throughout the entire process Dan went above and beyond for me and my family to make sure we had heat before it was too late in the season.  I called, texted, and emailed Dan at least once a week for over 2 months as I waited for National Grid (an absolute s-show of a company) to install my gas line and he always responded back and kept me on his radar.  Once my gas line was installed (with zero notice from N.G.), Dan began the project within a week and absolutely worked his tail off for us, literally finishing the job on a Saturday night so that we could spend the rest of the weekend at the house (and not at my in-laws...)    

My gas heat is working great and I no longer have to worry about running out of oil, which is totally suspect.  Added bonus - my wife and I don't argue over the thermostat as much even though she often turns the house into a sauna.  Regardless, Dan has our highest recommendation and we look forward to working with him again in the future.

Reliable in that plumber kept appointment, performed a garbage disposal installation as expected.  Service was great!
I then need a shower fixed for no hot water.  I called late on a Friday and Dan came on Monday morning and repaired it.

I called Dan on short notice because my plumber didn't show up as planned, and I had a tight delivery window for new appliances.

I called at 6pm for a job at 8am the next day.

Dan called me back in minutes after I spoke with his associate, and Dan was able to pencil me in to help me out at least getting the old appliances unhooked and he was available to install a few days later. He was professional and nice.

On this interaction alone I would recommend Daniel Wright and will contact him in the future for my plumbing needs.

Absolutely amazing! Such a great find. About a year ago (yes I am late getting this in), I clogged the sink on Easter. My brother found these guys on yelp and we called Monday. They were here Tuesday to take a look. While they weren't the right people for the job, he referred me to a drain guy to unclog and then he came back to do the plumbing work... and didn't charge me for the second visit!

Fast forward to Christmas time. Our boiler stopped working. I called and left a message on Christmas Eve. Dan came over the day after Christmas (also a Saturday) and proceed to troubleshoot and showed me how to do it too. Nothing worked so we needed to get a unique part (of course). He called around and no one was open. He gave me his cell # and told me to text him if the boiler started working. It didn't and he came back Monday to fix everything. Quick service!

Now today, I noticed a puddle under the boiler. I sent him a text and two hours later I got a reply and 10 minutes later, he was at the house and again wanted to do everything possible to avoid replacing the furnace. He left for supplies and came back to seal it up... again he said to let him know how it fairs this week. In the meantime, he will get us a quote for a new boiler that I sure hope we don't have to use.

Currently, there is no puddle and we have heat... fingers crossed :)

He found a plumbing issue that wasn't found even in our home inspection.  He quickly diagnosed it, repaired the incorrect piping and cleaned our clogged drains.  He also let us know how we can prevent problems in the future and how we can fix a small issue should it arise.  I would definitely call him again.

Wright Plumbing was incredible to work with!   We needed our kitchen faucet replaced and the sink to be reattached (it was separating from the counter on one side), and we also needed a water like added to our kitchen for our fridge.   They were very knowledgable, efficient, and professional. The quality of service is very apparent, and we know who to call for any future plumbing needs.

If you are looking for a plumber in the North Shore area (Salem, Beverly, Peabody, Danvers), I strongly recommend Daniel Wright.

Daniel handled a bathroom renovation for relatives of ours - removing an old tub and sink, and replacing them with items they ordered online.  Daniel was helpful, skilled,  and well priced.   He patiently talked them through the ordering process, which otherwise would have proved daunting, and explained which fixtures would work together.  The finished bathroom is just what they wanted.  He's  a very knowledgeable craftsman - a master of his trade.  He showed up when he said he was going to (even on weekends), and got things done in good time.  He is also a very pleasant person to work with.  Definite recommend!!

Danny did a great job during two separate visits to my condo in Lynn, and he even went above and beyond the call of duty. Not only has he addressed the myriad plumbing issues I've called him for, he even installed my new curved shower curtain rod since I didn't have the right tools to drill into the tile myself. All work was done in a timely fashion and with a smile. He's also very responsive via email, answering service, and text, which made scheduling a breeze.

The more conventional tasks he expertly tackled include:
- Replacing bathroom faucet
- Replacing tub faucet/diverter
- Replacing shower head (my old hand-held fixture was shot; he happened to have a spare standard replacement head in his truck, so he supplied that part for free)
- Repair of garbage disposal
- Fixed running toilet
- Fixed laundry valves, which included moving my heavy stackable washer/dryer out of and then back in to a tiny closet. Danny also installed the lint trap bucket I had ordered from Amazon.

I hope I won't need to call him again anytime soon, but the next time I have any plumbing or heating needs, Daniel Wright Plumbing will be my first call!

Dan is great! Honest, efficient, and does great work. He's worked on my gas boiler and replaced a sewer line at my house. He really knows what he's doing and is a very hard worker. Professional and pleasant.

Updating my previous review to include the fact that the owner reached out to me months later stating my call fell through the cracks and I was out of his service area anyway. One more star for at least getting back to me. Even if I was in his service area I still wouldn't have heard back for months.

Thank You! Found you on Yelp this morning soon after I found the puddle of water in my basement.  Getting a quick response and friendly and professional service was refreshing. I needed a new hot water heater and found your pricing to be fair and   appreciate that you went the extra mile to do the job right. Thanks for making my not so great morning an easy fix. I will definitely be calling when I need a plumber in the future.

Daniel is an excellent plumber. He Shows up on time fairly priced and does the work right the first time. I wouldn't even consider any other plumber. He's also very good at returning phone calls in a timely fashion.

I reached out to Daniel when I bought my house and continued to call him whenever anything popped up. He was friendly, responsive, honest, and I grew to trust him. I recently asked him to do additional work on my plumbing. After an initial conversation, I then had to follow-up until he responded a week later with the estimate. Once I confirmed, the pattern continued... weeks without response, a cancelled appointment, and no follow-up (despite my efforts) about rescheduling. I understand that business might be bumping, but this isn't a great way to treat consistent customers.

It's been nearly 2 weeks since my call with the your calling service.  The Service asked a list of questions which I answered accurately.  I'm not sure if I did not receive a call back due to my need of a just a holding tank replacement that ended up costing $1,200.  Leaving 2 stars as it wouldn't be appropriate to leave anything else.

We called Dan probably around 4pm last night and by noon the next day our shower was already fixed. Dan was super helpful and got our shower fixtures installed quickly, looks great.  Super nice. Will be calling him for another project (when things are more back to normal).

Excellent honest service, Danny upgraded our condos failing hot water heating system, price estimate was realistic and reasonable, and the work was completed quickly, A+

We had a pipe burst and flood our basement.  The only shutoff we had was the town one and it didn't quite do the job fully.  Dan came out quickly for us and assessed the whole situation quickly and we had a new shutoff as well as the repair on the burst pipe.  Fantastic service and highly skilled, Dan is the absolute best.

Absolutely amazing! Dan was a great find to fix my water heater. His turnaround time was really quick, spoke to him yesterday and showed up today with the tank. While working on the job we realized that the job was more complicated than Dan had thought but he stuck to the pricing he gave inspite of the fact that what could have been done in couple of hours had there been no complications took him 4.5 hours. Really friendly and professional guy. Would recommend him for any plumbing work. It was great doing business with him.

Dan was great! Very friendly and efficient. He was the only plumber I contacted who actually replied, and repaired our showers in no time, for a very reasonable price!

My boiler was leaking water all over our basement. Rather than call a big company to check it out and charge me up the wazoo to fix it, I called Daniel Wright Plumbing. Daniel came in and fixed the problem within a couple of hours, and it the cost was fair. He even took the time to show me how to bleed out my recessed wall radiators. We will definitely deal with in the future.

Sidebar:
There's this stigma about plumbers in general. Can you trust them to do the work honestly and correctly? Are they going to overcharge you? and a bunch of other what if's that we all ask ourselves. With Daniel as your plumber, you don't have to worry about that. A family run operation is never an easy feat when trying to compete with the big boys. I'll take Daniel over them any day.

Finally...a contractor that answers his phone, calls back when they say they will and sticks fairly close to the appt time! Have been trying to get a plumber for weeks to do some kitchen upgrades, apparently they are all pretty  busy working on heating systems this time of year. Mr. Wright got back to me in a timely manner and was very professional. Of course my ancient home's issues meant a bit  more time and thus more money than originally quoted, but in a 100 year old building that pretty much always happens once they see what they are dealing with, so can't say I was that surprised. Called to tell me when he was running late, showed up close to the original time and did the job neatly. Will be using him again for another job soon.

addition-he did another couple jobs for me, the 2nd one was actually less than the original quote! 3rd was done very quickly and efficiently. Again, I can't get over finding a plumber that returns calls the same day. Will keep him in the contractor contacts!

Bear with me as my next few reviews will all be about contractors since we are in the midst of making repairs to our home in preparation for selling it . . .

We found Daniel on Yelp. We received several recommendations from friends for other plumbers and while all of them were great, my husband got great vibes and the most competitive quote from Daniel so we immediately hired him for the job.

Daniel came by (on time) to give us an estimate for a bathtub leak yesterday and declared that he was able to complete the task the same day (although we ended up having him come the following day due to our own schedules). He worked non-stop for several hours on a hot summer day. The repairs required him to travel back and forth between our bathroom and in a crawl space under the house. He did not skip a beat or complain, however. Although he mostly interacted with my husband, I found him to be friendly. Since it was so hot, I hinted to my husband that he should offer Daniel a glass of cold water and Daniel politely declined. The repairs consisted of replacing some parts, fixing the leak, and repairing some warped plywood under our house, and my husband gave a thumbs up for Daniel's execution of each of these repairs.

My only gripe is that like most contractors, there was some dirt and dingy fingerprints left behind after the job and a hand towel rack knocked over. Nothing major though and my husband dutifully cleaned it up afterwards. I know, I am a perfectionist.

Overall, we found Daniel to be pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly, and fairly priced. Hopefully, we will find a new home soon and we will never need plumbing repairs again. But if we do, my husband and I agree we will call Daniel again.

BTW, Daniel, I added your website to the business info so others can locate you on the web. I love the URL by the way. It's a clever play on words . . . Wright plumber!

Our hot water heater spontaneously sprung a leak over the weekend, and Dan Wright was our hero. Being first time homeowners, my fiancé and I were overwhelmed and upset, but Dan was beyond helpful and fixed our problem in no time. He came out to our house less than 24 hours after our initial call with a brand new hot water heater and replaced it, removing the old one as well. His customer service was unmatched and I cannot recommend him enough. We will absolutely be returning customers!!

Mr. Wright is Mr. Right!  Dan was extremely professional, courteous, fair in his pricing and did a great job fixing my tenants leaking toilet.  He even does public relations to boot!! He ran interference for me when the property manager got on my case after my tenants called him up yelling.  He basically calmed the guy down and, with a voice of authority only a plumber in this situation could have, told everyone it was going to be okay.... and all was well.

These guys may be the Super Mario Brothers of North Shore plumbing, who will fix your pipes and simultaneously liberate a trapped Princess from the clutches of an evil alligator snapping turtle in an alternate mushroom universe.

You'd never know- because these guys REFUSE TO CALL ME BACK TO TAKE MY BUSINESS. 3x calls and messages left with their answering service in the past week have solicited 0 return calls. Not like I'm calling to talk about the Sox lackluster season or what a nice fall we're having either, I have a leaky pipe and wanted to pay them to fix it.

Oh well, if you can't bother to call back, god knows how you'd be about showing up punctually for the appointment.  Moving on.

I live out of state and have two properties that occasionally have plumbing emergencies.  As such, Danny is someone I rely on to help keep my investments in good order and my tenants happy.

He's extremely responsive, his quotes are fair and his work is good.  He even goes as far as to email me images of the work after it's complete.

I'd absolutely recommend him.

I highly recommend Danny, he helped me out tremendously.  I live in California and my dad lives in Lynn.  My dad passed away, yet there was a gas leak inside his house where my dad's roommate and cats still lived.  I found Danny from Yelp reviews, and contacted him by email.  He was quick to get over to my dad's house and assess the situation.  The process to get the gas leak fixed involved many trips to my dad's house on Danny's part, and the gas co. had to turn the gas off (while an elderly lady lived there... so no heat and no hot water), Danny quickly found and fixed the leak, Danny quickly got the city permit and city inspection, so that the gas could be turned on so the roommate can have heat and hot water again.  Most of our contact was via email with one conversation with my husband on the phone.  It went very smoothly and since I am not in Lynn, don't have any contacts in Lynn, he helped us out and we really appreciate it.  His invoice was very reasonable for all the work he did.  Thanks Danny!

We have hired Daniel Wright on two occasions (one when a water pipe burst in the wall behind our shower on Thanksgiving Day) and recently when we had a not-so-urgent repair.  He was responsive, came when he said he would; or called and told us he was delayed.  Danny is professional and courteous.  We'd hire him again and we'd highly recommend him.

Called Dan a couple weeks ago with an issue, and he helped me resolve it on the phone! He even called again later in the day to see if his suggestion worked or if he could help any more.

Needless to say, Dan is now on speed dial.

Dan came to my house today and expertly repaired a super old boiler for an affordable price.  He could have easily taken one look and tried to tell me I need a new boiler.  He is very friendly and professional.  Highly recommended.

I've had Dan come to the house to fix things several times over the past few years. He is very professional and knowledgeable. He's also friendly and easy to talk to. I've always been happy with the results.

If you want to speak to someone that's capable of doing anything other than asking someone to return your call, do not try and call these guys. For 3 days I called their answering service (the only number available) and left more than 6 messages. Each time I was told a technician would get back to me. The answering service couldn't tell me when this would be or connect me with the relevant people directly. All they did, each and every time, was take my name, telephone number, and address (despite my protests). Three days later, I'm still waiting on someone returning any of my calls. If you have an urgent issue, or any issue at all for that matter, don't call these people. You'll be waiting years to get it fixed. Given the very positive reviews by other yelp users, I am thoroughly thoroughly disappointed.

I live 3000 miles away and needed someone to check on a minor leak found during a home inspection.  I looked on YELP and found many good reviews about Daniel Wright.  I am here to say that they were all right about Wright!  

He is professional, RESPONSIVE, (ok so I am just as tired as you are when it comes to playing phone-tag with contractors) and lives in the current century (i.e., Dan texted me an estimate - hello - that was awesome!).  And guess what - he's very well priced.

I have 3 words: Hire This Guy.

It takes a while for them to get back to you, but if you're persistent they will eventually call you back.  Dan did call me back though, and showed up right when he said he would the next day.  

He was pretty good, knowledgeable, and gave me some tips for avoiding this issue in the future.

Dan came out to replace our hot water heater at the end of last year. It wasn't an emergency, but the old one was leaking a bit and we wanted to get it replaced before it became a big problem.

Other plumbers in the area quoted me between 150% and 200% more than Dan did for the same job, and also wouldn't have been able to make it out for months (winter had just started and they were understandably super busy).

Dan worked us into his already busy schedule and did an excellent job. Was super nice, accommodating, and installed the new water heater expertly.

He did such great work that I tried to get him to come fix a leaky spigot in the basement a few months later. He probably could have charged me $300 to come out and fix it, but what did he do instead? Sent me to Home Depot to buy a $5 brass cover that screwed onto the spigot and stopped the leak. Really stand up guy.

I have hired Dan twice to fix issues with a broken shower and a leaky basement pipe. Both times he was friendly, professional, knowledgeable,  and worked very hard to make sure everything was done right. He explained things to me so that I understood exactly what was going on every step of the way, which was a nice change. I would definitely recommend him for any work you need done. He showed up when he said he would, his prices were reasonable, and he knows his stuff. I will definitely be calling him for any future plumbing needs that arise.
On a side note, I also had trouble with the answering service. Texting was a much better way to communicate with him. I did have to call the answering service a couple times for the second repair job, which was frustrating. However, I was so happy with the work, I felt it was worth the wait.
