Pipes froze and burst in the crawl space over christmas holiday. I returned home 12/26/22 and discover the issue. Call right away, soonest appointment was 12/29, which, although frustrating, was understandable because there had just been a big freeze and surely others in the area had similar issues.
12/29 comes and I wait...and wait... and wait. Eventually I call to check and they assure me plumber is still coming and it will likely be around 5pm. I call a 2nd time to make sure that once he gets here he realizes the nature and extent of the issue so that he can actually get it fixed in one go, once again I am assured there is nothing to worry about and he will be coming.
I call again around 4pm to be sure because I still havent heard anything and then I get told that he likely cannot make it today at all. I ask when should I expect him to be able to come, expecting that it would just be the following morning, but the woman on the phone tells me the earliest it can be is now a full week away, 1/5/23. I'm already ~4 days in with no running water, no shower/baths for me or kids, no dishes, no laundry, etc. etc. Been living with gallon jugs of water from Kroger for things that absolutely have to happen.
Basically I'm just frustrated that they told me they could come on 12/29, I set that appointment and then put other remedial measures on hold; I didn't call anyone else, i didn't go to a laundromat, etc etc. all because of the appointment they had for me and kept assuring me was happening, then I get told it will be a whole additional week.
Sooo...I called an HVAC guy I know and trust, he knew a plumber, got an appointment in 2 days for a significantly lower price too. Tom Drexler may be a big name that is easy to find when searching for a plumber, but you're likely better off searching around for someone else so that you dont have your time, money, and life wasted.
All that said, no one was rude to me over the phone or anything, and they were apologetic, but apologies only go so far and at some point you just need to be able to trust people are going to show up and not add an additional week of time for you to be able to bathe your kids.
