We called out three companies to look at our sewer lateral and got three quotes (plus a fourth was done by the listing agent before we bought the house)
Morris and Octavio were such a pleasure to work with and had detailed answers to every question. They are genuine, honest and they explained everything thoroughly to my wife and I.
Their quote was exactly the same as one other company, but we decided to go with them over the other option because we thought they were great guys.
The job was done in a day and then the city inspected a day after. Morris sent us the certificate immediately.
The concrete was poured the following day and the house was left in perfect condition.

Can't recommend these guys highly enough!

I've used Rooter Solutions twice now. An Oakland home sale that needed a sidewalk compliance certificate. And an Oakland home purchase that needed the sidewalk compliance certificate and the EBMUD sewer lateral completed. On both occasions Morris (the owner) was responsive and professional. He responded to emails very quickly, uses docusign for his contracts, and has electronic billing. The next time I need one of these services done he will be the only call I make when shopping for bids.

I contacted several of the 5 star rated companies on Yelp to help fix a broken Sewer lateral line. I was given several options to fix and rates all over the place. Rooter solutions gave me a very clear picture of the work that needed to be done, answered all my questions and got me on schedule quickly. Their crew was fast, efficient and honest. They did a great job and the problem was fixed in no time. Their responses, follow up, quality of work and customer service is stellar! Thankful to get their reference through a neighbor.

This is my 2nd time working with Rooter Solutions. The 1st time I was introduced to this company by a listing agent who had a sidewalk replacement for a property purchased by my client. I've had nothing but good experiences with Morris and his team at Rooter Solutions. They have replaced multiple private sewer laterals (PSL) for various clients of mine. As a Real Estate Broker, many of my clients need this type of work done when buying or selling a home.

In my experiences with Rooter Solutions they have been professional, very efficient, preformed quality work, and move quickly. These things are extremely important when dealing with contractual deadlines and time constraints.

Now that I've found Rooter Solutions I just don't see myself using any other company!

Last week I received notice that I was delinquent on the deadline to install a PSL at our Alameda home that we purchased last November. To avoid being fined I needed prompt action. That's just what I got when I called Morris G at Rooter Solutions. Within a couple days they inspected my sewer, installed the PSL and sent the certificate of completion to the city. Great experience. We called in four bids and Rooter Solutions was he best, lowest and quickest. We experienced almost ZERO downtime and had the lateral replaced and certified by EBmud the same day. By all means look around. Call a in one of the big corporate firms and expect to be treated like a clueless, desperate fool. Rooter Solutions were clear and clearly have a rock solid reputation. Rooter Solutions is the BEST, they are always - Johnny on the Spot when I need them for my clients in my real estate business. I was lucky enough to find Morris and Rooter Solutions of CA during a feverish Yelp search for a company to take care of our sewer lateral for EBMUD. I contacted several companies and Morris was, by far, the most responsive and the easiest with whom to work. What could have been an extremely confusing, and expensive, process was made seamless and stress free thanks to Morris. He performed a camera inspection without my having to be onsite, scheduled the work for the following week and I had the EBMUD certificate in hand the day after. I could not recommend more.

Strongly recommend this company:
We quoted several contractors to replace our sewer lateral. Some contractor took several days to give us an estimate; some asked for $1xx inspection fee before providing any estimate; some answered call and said they would do inspection and get us back their estimate but never heard back any more. Morris from this company responded quickly and did the inspection on the next day. We received an estimate from him with all project details in text message and a picture to show how the work would be like. Also his price was very competitive and he even didn't ask for any retaining fee. In his proposal, the one-time full payment will be due only when the EBMUD cert is issued. So we signed the contract with him and he started the project 3 days later. All work was done in one day and we got the certificate in 2 days, exactly as he promised. We are very happy with his professional work and efficiency. Oh, did we mention that we were out of town during the whole process? we don't need to be on-site and do any monitoring. These guys just know how to their work well.

Fast and professional service! Having recently moved into a new place, I needed to get a sidewalk repair and certification done. I contacted a couple different places and Morris not only responded quickly, he provided an extremely fair quote. He was responsive to all emails and very patient in answering my many questions.

When it came time to schedule the work, he was able to do it within a couple days of signing the contract. They also did an excellent job repaving the sidewalk and leveling our driveway!

I'll be sure to recommend Morris and Rooter Solutions for any future sidewalk repair or other needs.

I can't more highly of Morris and his team at Rooter Solutions of California.

Being a first time homeowner is intimidating and let me not forget.... expensive!

Sewer lateral? Yeah, we didn't include that in our escrow because we dropped all contingencies on our offer and just didn't know any better.

Sidewalk repair? Yeah, again we didn't include that in our escrow because we dropped all contingencies on our offer and just didn't know any better.

Then we found out that our pipes were galvanized and need to be re-piped from the water line and all through the house.

This all sounds expensive doesn't it? Yes, it is and was. However, I received several bids and Morris and his team did their best to try and come close and in the end winning our business.

We did all three projects with Rooter Solutions of California. They were always communicative, on time, diligent, set proper expectations and ensured they finished the job completely with the utmost satisfaction on our part.

Please do do your due diligence, but at the end of the day, you're in great hands with this company if you're looking for a plumber to complete many new projects on your home. In addition, they didn't send us the bill to pay until all compliance documents were provided to us with approval by EBMUD and the City of Oakland.

I'm a Real Estate agent in Oakland, and would highly recommend Rooter Solutions. I've worked with many companies who work on replacing Private Sewer Laterals. This company is the best that I've worked with so far. They are professional, and best of all respond to your questions very promptly. The company owner is also an educator, and will answer your questions in order to make sure you understand the complete process.

Recently a friend of mine was quoted $9,450 to replace her Private Sewer Lateral. She called me asking for help. I told her to call Rooter Solutions, and sure enough they were able to save her around $4,000! She was also impressed by the quality of work. In addition they were ahead of the game, and contacted the City of Oakland before starting the job. That way when the work was completed, they had the certificate of completion ready to go.

This review is from last year, I ran across the email from them that reminded me.
They did a satisfactory job on the sidewalk. It was the highest bid for sure.
The problem is that when they did the work the broke the house numbers off my wall.
I called and emailed and I was told we will take care of it.
That never happened.
Maybe look for a company that follows through with their promises!!
Being lied to after paying almost $8,000. Is really crappy.
Spend your money elsewhere!

I hired the services of Rooter Solutions of California for a sewer lateral replacement at a home I recently bought. I had a great experience working with Morris & team and will recommend this company without hesitation.

- Their bid was the most reasonably priced, by far
- Morris said they he would take care of not just the replacement but also inspection and certification from CVSAN, which he did
- He asked for full payment only after the inspection and certification was completed
- His team left the work site clean

The only reason I am taking one star off is because of a scheduling error on their part that caused the work to start a day late.

Morris and his crew were recommended to me via my realtor and I am extremely happy to have used Rooter Solutions. Hugo came out to do the inspection and also was the foreman in charge of all the work. The work was done in a single day with limited disruption (besides the obvious). They did run into a problem necessitating digging up an additional hole in the front yard, but they were able to rectify it very quickly and stay within the quoted price. I recently bought a new house in Oakland and needed a sewage inspection. They were the only service that provided a free inspection. They provide a quick and reliable service, as soon as we agreed they got to work on all the legal paperwork and gave us an expected date range of when they will provide service. We had to replace the sewage lines and they were very quick to get the job done. The service was hassle free and everything was done very professionally. Sewage change was quick and we had our power and sewage running in a few hours. If you need any sewage services done I recommend it!

We purchased a house and needed to get lateral compliance. The previous owners contacted Root Solutions to get a quote and just to take and submit a video was $2k after it sounds like they already came out and did an inspection. We searched around and got recommended to a different company who charged way less for the video and walked us through submitting the review video. We had to add a backflow device and in the end still paid ~30% of their quoted cost just for the video. Maybe their goal is to only take on larger projects than what we had and wanted to price themselves out but either their prices are pretty crazy or they didn't communicate that our project wasn't something they were interested in.

Professional , prompt, efficient, reasonable, courteous. These are a few of the adjectives I'll use to describe Rooter Solutions.
Before I contacted Morris, I was quoted some ridiculous $$$ for my PSL in Oakland.
Thank goodness someone told me about Rooter Solutions.
To summarize: I received the quote, we scheduled the job, the work was performed in one day and I received my compliance certificate the same day.
I would recommend this company to anyone who values the above stated qualities and if you would like to experience real SERVICE.
Yes, I would contract with Rooter Solutions again to handle all my plumbing needs.

Morris and his crew did a great job on our sewer lateral. He was able to get us in on a tight schedule and then handled all the paper work with EBMUD and the City. They are amazing! We needed a new PSL done asap as there was water leaking into the basement of my tenants home (and it was gross)! A company with great values. They had my sewer lateral replaced at a fair price and did a wonderful job. Communication was great. There was an issue months later that i thought was related to the work (though it was actually an issue on the city side). When I reached out they had someone come out same day to inspect the sewer and kindly explain to me all the steps I needed to take with the city. BEWARE!!! This company is highly deceptive. The name Rooter Solutions of California is a fake name. They use this to deceive the public. The person who you deal with, Jaime Novoa, is actually the owner of PJ Plumbing, Inc. (CSLB lic. 992574). He will tell you that he is the subcontractor they use.

I contacted them to fix a sewer lateral to comply with EBMUD requirements. Everything went fine until they sent me their contract. The contract shows the fake Rooter Solutions name. The license shown is for PJ Plumbing. The real deception though is in the fine print which says if you sign the contract you consent to their use of a sub-contractor called Plumbing Tech. When I asked for the license number of the sub they tried to tell me that PJ Plumbing is the sub. I'm a licensed contractor myself. I have a thorough knowledge of contractor license law. I know when someone is feeding me a bunch of BS.

Be very careful if you decide to use this company. They are hiding something with their lies and deception.

We bought a new new house and needed to meet the Oakland requirements for seweral lateral and sidewalk repair. They came out quickly and gave us competitive price compared to other offers. They replaced our entire sewer lateral and it looked like they were never there after they were done. They also repaired a few sections of sidewalk. The quality of work seemed good. There was a separate issue outside their control with an outdoor sink drain that the previous owners installed which took extra time but they took care of resolving it with the city so our certificate could be released. Overall great experience, would recommend!!

I've had to replace two sewer laterals at two projects in Oakland within the last 5 years. I was lucky enough to get a referral for Morris from our real estate agent on the first project and never looked back. Morris and his team are extremely organized and easy to work with. The price was very reasonable of all the bids we fielded and I can't imagine the work or experience of dealing with Morris and his team of possibly being any better than it was.

On our second project, there were a few complications due to construction. from other contractors. but Morris was able to stay nimble and ensure we. passed the final test with the city once other construction was done.

I look forward to using next Morris and Rooter Solutions on our next project!
