Hi, My name is Joe Nelson, I'm glad you're taking a minute to read this. After working for other people for 20+ years I've finally decided to open my own business. For too long have I had to charge too much for services that could easily be done for a more reasonable price. That's why this year 2020, I bring to you Nelson Plumbing in Clovis, CA a low cost alternative to the big corporate franchises that charge $200 or more to clean out a drain or augur your toilet.
I've worked in residential and commercial service plumbing my whole adult life, my father was a plumber before me and his father before that...I am a 4th generation plumber, it has always come natural to me. Our fireplace shut off valve was leaking. Being Christmas week we were concerned it could be tough to get someone out quickly. Joe responded and came out the next day! Joe was able to tighten the valve and have it fixed in less than 10 minutes. Joe also was only going to charge $15 after quoting $40. We gladly paid him the $40. Had a clogged kitchen drain that tried to unclog but was still getting backed up after a few attempts at using the snake and some chemicals. Called a few places and some were charging 2-3x more than Nelson plumbing. Instead of going to the most expensive option they suggested they try snaking it first using their large snake which was $100 and if that didn't work they could go to the next option which was using the hydro. I appreciated they wanted to save me money first before doing something more costly and unnecessary. Needless to say they got the clog out using the snake which was reasonable. Will definitely use them for future plumbing projects.

Color me impressed. I've used Lee's Air in the past and while they're quick, they charge way over the odds for everything. I had a toilet with a loose handle that I'd been meaning to get fixed - I happened to see a review for Nelson Plumbing on the homepage on Monday and requested a quote here on Yelp. They were quick to respond with a quote and a handful of appointment slots. Within 20 minutes I had an appointment for the next day.
Nathan arrived within the time stated (around 1.15pm for a 12-2pm slot) and got right to work. Originally I'd asked for them to replace the mechanism in one of my toilets. The night before, I happened to notice that our garbage disposal was leaking, too, so he took a look at it. He diagnosed the issue and we decided to go ahead and replace it.
While Nathan was out buying parts I also remembered that we'd bought a new tap awhile ago and hadn't had it installed when our water pressure was low. I asked his opinion on whether it'd improve our water pressure. He checked out the current tap and the water flow situation and said that installing a new one would be the place to start, and what the next step would be if it didn't improve the flow. Luckily it did the trick.
Nathan was a swift worker, really efficient and a good communicator. He was quick to diagnose the issues and offer solutions along with prices. I didn't feel pressured and I felt he was doing honest work for a reasonable price. He left everything how he found it and cleared everything out.
Although it ended up being a pricier visit than I'd anticipated, I have a fixed toilet, a new kitchen tap with better water flow and a brand new garbage disposal -- and it only took around 2 hours.
I'm really glad to have found this company, I'll definitely use them again in the future.

Our 20+ year water heater was starting to struggle and my wife talked me into replacing it before it became an emergency repair. On a recommendation we contacted Nelson plumbing and scheduled them about a week out. On the day Nathan and Santos arrived on time and swapped out old for new in an efficient and professional manner. We will remember and use them again should we need plumbing services in the future.

Nelson plumbing was the quickest to respond, had time available the next day, and completed a toilet install with bidet attachment in practically no time at all. They were very friendly and cleaned up everything before leaving. I would certainly recommend them.
Whole House Water Softener Installation. Joe and his partner came out to install my pelican water softener and did it with high quality parts and work. Highly recommend him for all your plumbing needs.
Our kitchen faucet was leaking and we called Nelson Plumbing. They got back to me very quickly and set up an appointment to come out the next day. They were punctual and even tried coming early. He fixed the multiple issues (leak, clogged pipe that was backing up the dishwasher). He replaced the hose in the pull out faucet too. It was done at a reasonable price too. I would recommend and use them again!

This company is so good the guy works fast can clean from outside for my bathtub clogged while the others can't do it and offered me to go through the roof or remove the toilet with additional price. I'll definitely come back again if any problems in further thank you (:
Nelson replaced my old water heater. They provided a one hour service window and showed up on time. They replaced parts when they could have just used the old, existing parts. Then they made sure that the pilot light in our other water heater was back on before they left. They were friendly and took the time to explain things. I would definitely have them work on additional projects in the future.
Kitchen sink was clogging and backing. I put in a request, Nelson responded with a quote and showed up the next day. Parents were pleased with the prompt response and excellent service. Well done Nelson. Hopefully I won't need anything else but if I do, I'm calling you

Our tankless water heater went dead right before Christmas. I know right? I called around to some of the bigger advertised companies in the area to get them to come out and take a look. I was able to get one to come out and they confirmed the unit was dead. They gave me a quote to replace it that seemed very, very high. I called around to local vendors to see if anyone could come out and get me a better deal. When I got to Nelson Plumbing I had called a few already and was ready to get the standard answer of Sure we can do that, we have an opening in three months would that work? The people at Nelson Plumbing were very nice and got me onto the schedule for the next day! Joe came out and confirmed it was dead. He gave me a quote that was half the price of the competition. That was amazing. Reading the reviews on Yelp gave me the confidence to know they did good work and cared about making sure everything was right. They came out and completed the replacement of the tankless water heater. They made sure everything was working to my satisfaction and left the area cleaner then when they got there. It was amazing service and I would put them on your speed dial for plumbing issues!
On a side note please make sure you descale your tankless water heaters! If you don't you can end up with an inefficient water heater that costs you more money to use and water that's just not as hot. Eventually even leading to leaks and failed units. Nelson Plumbing does offer a descaling service for tankless water heaters and it is the best price in the valley I've seen.

Nelson Plumbing responded quickly to my repair problem. They arrived the same day and were professional and courteous. I will use them again.
Our disposal wasn't working and so I contacted the company via yelp. Within 5 minutes I received an appointment for the next day and an explanation of pricing and services. Joe arrived today promptly and helped us figure out the issue. Will definitely use again.

Water heater replacement - Quick response, quoted a flat rate that was very competitive. There was a curve ball once the old water heater was removed, but they gave me the option to DIY that aspect of the job to save money. Bottom line, fully satisfied customer that would use their services again.

I want to give a big shout to Joe and his crew. They did a great job with out bathroom remodel. We even had a issue with our tile guy not setting the valve correctly and Joe was very responsive and understanding in helping us correct the problem. I very highly recommend Nelson!!!

These guys helped us with an outdoor leak that would NOT have been a good DIY project. They were able to deal with the water line coming into the house as well as the water softener in order to fix the leak. They knew what had to be done and had the knowledge and tools to do the job in a timely manner.
Nelson Plumbing did a great job installing a new water heater and circulation pump. We now have virtually instant hot water at the kitchen sink (so we no longer have to waste water waiting for the hot water to decide to wander our way). They were fast and efficient and the workmanship was top notch. I would definitely recommend them.
Nelson Plumbing was impressively responsive and showed up exactly on time. They were polite, professional, worked quickly, gave an accurate estimate, and left zero mess. I will absolutely be calling them for any future plumbing issues!

We have been given the run around by the plumbers and handymen our landlord has sent out, so we reached out to Nelson to get help.
They came out right on time, helped diagnose our dishwasher issue, recommended an enzyme product at Home Depot and left without charging us a thing.
Totally professional and will forever get our business going forward.
This company is amazing! Highly recommend to everyone. They are on top of it with communication! Punctual Rx cj fact early which was amazing. They fixed my issue which had to do with water pressure in my kitchen sink.

I looked up water heater installation businesses near me. Nelson Plumbing seemed to have the best reviews. I asked for a price quote through Yelp. He provided one. When he came out to look at my water heater, I asked him if it would be worthwhile to buy a more expensive water heater. He said that Bradford White produces great water heaters, so there was no need to pay more. He quickly installed the water heater. I'm happy. It costs $800 less than what Home Depot quoted me. Thanks. When I originally wrote the review, for unknown reasons it only showed 4 stars. I must have made a mistake. I didn't catch that until afterwards when I saw the review. I was surprised and re-read the review trying to think if he did anything that wasn't perfect. Everything he did was great. I must have made a mistake. This was definitely 5 star service.

Literally amazing. Had the pleasure to meet Nathan, he came in, I explained the situation, he was able to identify the problem and fix my clogged shower in a matter of minutes, even gave me recommendations on how to prevent this issue in the future. I posted on Yelp that I needed bids to do the work of removing the old & installing the new toilet for us. The request was sent to several plumbers. After hearing from several of them, I chose Nelson Plumbing . They responded quickly & professionally & had the best price.

Nathan was on time, professional and a great representative of Nelson Plumbing. A superb job! Now I know why they have all 5 star ratings. I have already floated Nelson Plumbing contact information to my friends and family. I will definitely contact them again for future plumbing needs.
This is the company you want to use. I had Joe and Nathan move the drain for my toilet, convert my single sink to a double sink, and move my drain for a new shower.
They were very responsive to my texts and calls, they worked really hard, and they kept me informed about their progress on my project. They were also very responsive to my questions, and they texted me and called me frequently to give me updates.
Not only that, but they offered some great suggestions and solutions to some problems I was facing in my bathroom with the drain pipe for my sink, and on which products I should use for my shower valve and faucets.
The rough pluming work they did behind the walls was done perfectly, they used all the correct parts and components to convert my sink to a double sink. Below you'll see a picture of the finish work the completed along with a before and after.
I found Joe and Nathan to be polite, resourceful, trustworthy, and experts at their craft.
They were so good I almost forgot to mention their prices! The prices were very fair and 100% worth every penny.

I had the unfortunate experience of a water leak in the main supply line feeding the house from the meter so I frantically reached out to a couple plumbers and luckily Nelson Plumbing was one of the handful that Yelp automatically sent me request to. After getting quotes from multiple plumbers for the job (which were all over the place) I landed on Nelson because the quote was very competitive, his reviews were all 5 stars, and he could get someone on it that afternoon. This was a rental that was in between tenants so luckily I could keep the water off without issues but having it done so quickly was awesome. The work was completed timely and without issue until last week when we went to turn the irrigation back on and realized it must not have been spliced back into the supply line once it was swapped out. No big deal...called Nelson and they came back out without question to make it right and I got a call from the owner today to apologize for the oversight and to let me know he went personally to check and made sure everything was back up and running. Even with the slight hiccup, my experience with Nelson Plumbing couldn't have been better and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend/use their services in the future.

Very professional and informative. Had my tankless water heater serviced which was never serviced before at a reasonable price. Nelson plumbing came out to assess my water softener system and told me that I should go through those who installed it to have it fixed, but did help us turn it off so we could have water pressure again (without a crazy 99$ we came to your house and did nothing fee!)
(The company still has not fixed it after 4 or 5 months, so quality home repair would not get the same review)! I had them come out again months lather to fix a drip and replace a garbage disposal. Again, happy with their service, pricing and reliability. I would highly recommend them for your plumbing needs!

My water heater was whistling and Joe came out to access the situation. He suggested to change out the water connectors which seemed to be the problem. I haven't heard any more whistling. Joe is really nice and personable. He showed up on time which is a plus.
If you need a plumber stop and call Joe right now. He knows what he's doing, he does what he says, he shows up when he says he's going to show up and if there's any changes that need to be made he communicates. Cannot say enough for the work he did on our bathroom remodel. Just as an example-We had an issue with our Delta faucet that we bought for the project. I bought the faucet prior to hiring him. He could have easily said look man,this thing just doesn't work you'll need to get another one, but instead he ended up calling Delta customer service and waiting on hold on 2 different days! Just to find a way to fix it. Little details like that make a big difference
After 25 years, my tub decided not to drain even though I did annual maintenance. Previously, to reaching out to Nelson Plumbing, I had done the YouTube research, called two handymens (one was a no show and the other only use drain cleaner and did not listen to me).
My experience with Nelson Plumbing was EXCELLENT from the Yelp estimate, the knowledgeable office staff and the plumber Angel Santos - it was a wonderful interaction. They didn't up sell services, he cleaned up afterwards, and LISTENED! The service was so good, I just might start a fan club!
Did I mention the price? Other estimates I received were $200-$300, Nelson Plumbing estimated cost - $99 and that's what I paid.

I am so thankful we found Nelson Plumbing. They were able to fix a leaky sink and some sprinkler issues for a great price (and we were quoted some pretty outrageous prices from other companies). Very responsive and professional, I will definitely recommend to anyone with plumbing issues.
We noticed dripping water in the crawl space while repairing a section of subfloor in our 1960's house. We went to Yelp and got 3 estimates from different plumbers and were shocked at what the others were charging for the same repair! Up to 3x more for one of them!! Not only did we choose Nelson Plumbing for the price quote but they immediately knew what was wrong when they looked at it. The other guys took quite a while under the house and also kept going in and out to their truck before they could tell us what was needed. With Nelson, we chose a date and time from their available schedule. They came out the very next day for a quote and then completed the job two days later on a Saturday! Joe and his colleague (didn't get his name) showed up with face masks on, went right to work, and finished the job quickly and as quoted -- no surprises. Both were very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. You could tell they knew their job! Thank you Nelson Plumbing. We'll keep you in our contacts should we ever have another plumbing problem :)

Seriously impressed! They are the total package, ( that never happens). Response for a quote and apt time was fast. Joe and Nathan showed up on time and replaced two bathroom sinks, kitchen sink, faucets, old attached plumbing, garbage disposal and tightened up a couple loose toilets in a rental. They were both very personable and professional. It's apparent they take pride in their work, are efficient and offer extremely reasonable rates. Our toilet has had a slow leak. We were told by a different company that it was the shower water leaking onto the floor. We brought a different company out, Nelson Plumbing, out a couple months later. This guy removed the toilet and replaced the seal as he said it wasn't sealed properly. It was $175. That seems a little pricey. The employee was professional and courteous. We did have to call them back out about a week later as we noticed the toilet leaking again. They came out the day after we called and, of course, no leaking was observed by him or us. We have to decide if we want to try a new toilet or see if there is a clog.
We asked him to fix a clogged tub while he was there. He did this as well, but needed to come back because it is deeper than what he thought. I appreciated that he looked into this even though it was not part of the appointment. Overall, I have been happy with them.
I recently needed to replace my garbage disposal that finally gave out after over 30 years. I went on to Yelp to gather a few quotes, and Nelson Plumbing was one of the first to respond with the best price. While the number of reviews was less than some other bigger name companies, having read through the Yelp reviews I felt confident enough to hire Nelson to do the job based upon the estimate that was provided. I also tacked on the installation of a new faucet for my kitchen sink.
Nathan arrived promptly during the stated time window that was promised. He was very friendly and efficient completing the two jobs at hand. I did have to call them back due to a small leak that was attributed to an aging valve, however, Nathan quoted me a good price again and delivered friendly and efficient service. I was very pleased again that they were able to come out so promptly to address the follow-on issue that surfaced.
I will definitely earmark Nelson plumbing for any future plumbing services are required and recommend them to family and friends. Job well done!

Nathan did a great job fixing the water softener and replacing the main water shutoff. A pleasure to work with and highly recommend.

Needed to replace my kitchen faucet. Joe was prompt and completed the work quickly. His prices were also very reasonable compared to what I was quoted from other plumbers. Will definitely use them again.
If I wanted one point the reader to take away from this review, it would be that Nelson Plumbing did not have any interest in overcharging or making profit off of our ignorance in plumbing. We shopped around, got prices from other providers for the same project, and I'm happy to say that these guys had a much more accurate diagnosis of the situation with a more rigorous assessment, and recommended solutions that saved us thousands of dollars. We had an issue with the water in one bathroom, the others came and didn't really even turn the water on to see what we're talking about. And to be able to understand the problem, Nelson Plumbing stopped by the second time later with a team to go in the crawl space to see our current plumbing, which wasn't the case for other companies we spoke with. We're happy with their service, and delighted to have worked with a decent business. Highly recommend.

We had a water leak in between a wall in the kitchen. We called one company who charged me $50 to come out and give me an estimate. I also had Nelson plumbing come out to get a second opinion and estimate. They offered to come out at no charge and provide an estimate. The estimate they provided was ALOT lower than what the other company quoted me. I was shocked!! I can't believe the difference in price for the same amount of work. You guys really took care of us today. Thanks for the great service! Our water heater went out. With three kids, we desperately needed it fixed as soon as possible. Nelson Plumbing came in with a fair and reasonable estimate. Nathan was courteous, responsive, and professional. He personally installed the new, upgraded water heater, in just a few hours. I found a new go to company and will enthusiastically recommend them to friends and family! Thanks for a job well done!!
Contacted a few plumbers regarding a clogged toilet. They responded in a timely manner and allowed me to set up the appointment through Yelp. Pricing was reasonable. The guy called before coming and was here early. He was able to help me and solve the issue. The auger did scratch the toilet, but I was able to get most of it off. Good experience and I would definitely use them again.

We recently had a mainline pipe leak at home. I called several plumbers for an estimate and only 2 out of 4 actually showed up. Nelson Plumbing came as soon as they could after a big company re-scheduled on us last minute, 2 days in a row, and actually did not even call or show up on the 3rd appointment.
Santos gave a reasonable estimate for the rather arduous job. After we agreed to the estimate, they were able to fit us into their schedule and Santos worked tirelessly and cheerfully all day until nightfall. Having him work on our home was like having a trusted friend help you out. He did an awesome job and we would not hesitate to recommend Nelson Plumbing to anyone, and will surely call them again when the need arises.

Our toilet and shower were clogged . I couldn't figure it out and spent 6 hours on Easter Day . Nathan came and used his big snake . It was those disposable wipes , which we don't use so it had to be old .. anyways theses guys are good . They are the best . Really .

Sent a request for a quote and got a very quick reply. They were great in getting us scheduled quickly and gave a free ballpark estimate and offered to come out and give a closer estimate free of charge (which is rare to find, but a big reason why I went with them). The price was actually lower than their initial estimate happily, and they were able to do the work very quickly and efficiently. They seemed very knowledgeable and honest. Would happily use again!

Fast and Affordable! Came out as soon as possible. Honest and patient. Had drain leaking and washer drain backing up. They cleaned my drain pipe and repaired the leak.
Joe was very responsive and he had a plumber to my unit quick to repair a leaking toilet due to failed wax ring (thank god it wasn't a leak in the wall). He was able to set the appointment quick (within a week) and get the job done the next day! The price was reasonable and I accepted.
His plumber also looked at another issue I had and he said it was likely a tenant issue. There was nothing to repair and I'll be getting a shower door installed based on the info given to me.
I will be using Joe and his services again for future work!
Just had Nathan come to our home. We needed gas valve relocated to fit our new stove. From the initial in home estimate to our install date he was nothing but the best/professional. Gave us a low and high estimate to fix our problem. Ended up being the lower cost this morning, which I was glad to pay. We hired them a while back to install new plumbing work, install a sink and gas heater and forgot what else. They were awesome but majority of the time they were late but it's understandable. The prices were higher than other plumbers but they do a really good job. I would work with them again.
