We had a plumbing emergency. The toilet stopped flushing. Luis replied right away with a quote. We spoke on the phone and he went over the 3 possible outcomes, possible escalation and what the cost would be for each scenario. He spent hours trying to find the plug in the line keeping us informed and showing the camera video along the way. Sadly it was the worst case. We have roots in our sewage line.
On a side note, I called 5 plumbers from Yelp. 2 wouldn't give me any price, or discuss any rate sight unseen. 1 told me $130, until I told him we lived in Newport, then he said, Oh, sorry the price for Newport is $150. Seriously. The 4th gave an hourly rate.
I contacted J&L plumbing because our bathtub had completely stopped and was not draining at all. They were able to come out the same day and and unclog the tub. Their prices are reasonable, they are friendly and they left my house clean.

Really nice guys. I had a bad sink clog. They cleared it out and were competitively priced.
A bathroom sink was clogged in my house, and J & L quoted a rate similar to others here on yelp. I went with J & L because of the great reviews. The response time was great, and the plumber was very professional. However, he said that the job would be $99 if there was a clean out access or $149 if there was not a clean out access.
In the past, I had never been quoted 2 different rates for unclogging a drain, and I didn't understand what a clean out access is. The tech said that if there was no access, he would have to remove a pipe under the sink to clean it out. An appointment was set for later that day. After checking the drain, the tech ran the snake through the drain directly from the sink, and it seemed like he only had to unscrew a small part under the sink and then replace it once the drain was clear. I never saw him take anything apart under the sink.
The whole job took less than 15 minutes, and cost me $149 for a simple drain clearing, but at least he did not leave a mess. I asked for a receipt; he said to text me my email address and he would email the receipt to me. A week later, I still do not have a receipt, and I still don't know why such a simple job could not have been done for $99. I do have a new lesson learned: the next time I don't understand an aspect of any job (like the clean out access in this one), I should do my research so I can know what I am paying for.
I highly recommend this company. I run a restaurant and had an emergency on a weekend where no other company wanted to come. Luis was really friendly and knowledgeable, but best of all he had a fair price.

Our kitchen drain suddenly became very slow and my 25-foot snake wasn't cutting it, so I turned to yelp and requested quotes from a few highly rated local companies. I checked their state licenses and read reviews of the top 3 who replied. We went with Luis and J&L because they said they were vaccinated, wore masks, and could arrive in 2-hours. We take the coronavirus seriously, know OC is in another wave, and value companies who are data driven and responsive. Luis was awesome! They were clean, fast, and thorough. They snaked our whole drain and even used a camera to show us the entire run of our drain all the way to the sewer main in the middle of the street. Their price was great too. I HIGHLY recommend Luis and J&L for drain snaking.

I had a small job, but apparently not to small for J&L. The work that was performed was very efficient. I will not hesitate to use J&L for my next remodeling project. Excellent work.
We are now a two-time customer and will be adding additional calls as we start remodeling. Louis is a great communicator and has fair and reasonable pricing. Luis and his team clean up before leaving, unlike others we have used in the past. I highly recommend J&L Plumbing Services.

My tub was clogged and I called Luis to see if he can come and fix the problem and sure enough he came that same day! He was very honest and told me it was a simple fix that all he had to do was run the snake through my drain, he also gave me a very reasonable price :) I honestly thought my main sewer was clogged and that would have costed me a lot more but I'm glad Luis was honest and was able to take care of the problem! I was satisfy with his work and pricing I decided to call him the following week to install a tankless water heater. Great job Luis!

I contacted J&L Plumbing because my water pipe makes pounding sounds every time when I turn on water in the second floor bathroom. Luis responded to me immediately of what the potential issues may be and he was able to came for an in person inspection the same day. After he assessed the issue he said the water pipe sound could be caused by high water pressure or the water pipe wasn't strap properly. He offered to measure my water pressure for no costs which was very nice of him. It turns out my water pressure falls within the normal range which means the other cause is the water pipe wasn't strap properly. Luis provided me with a quote while he was on site and didn't pressure me to proceed with the work at all. Also, while Luis was on site, he inspected my water heater and recommended some repairs for future which was very nice of him. I will definitely keep J&L on my contact list for piping or water heater issues in the future!

Great, consistent, and reliable services! Definitely recommend for anyone in the area.
Getting a quote and appointment spot was a very quick process and they were out the next morning.
I got multiple quotes and with a simple picture text or the issue he was by far the cheapest quote.
Only thing is I was a little turned off by was my tech constantly telling me not to put stuff in my garbage drain. I'm well aware of what is not supposed to go down the drain but I have 4 kids who sometimes just toss stuff in the sink. I'm also confused on why he was taking pictures of the juice box tops he took out of my garage drain? Was that going to effect the quote to fix the garbage disposal which was a separate job I needed done? I also wish he would have told me about the huge sticker on the side of the disposal that said 3 year warranty before quoting me 3xx plus to replace it for a new one or at least asked how old it was.

We had a need to get our gas line extended from our fireplace to kitchen to replace our electric cooking range with a gas range. It's Christmas morning and I took my shower...went to turn it off and it wouldn't shut off. The knob just stopped working.
I had a full blown meltdown and knew it would be nearly impossible to find someone to help on Christmas morning. So me and my boyfriend started YouTubing and taking everything apart. Nothing worked. We shut our main water off and started calling people.
We went down the list of plumbers on Yelp and called at least 10 places before landing on J&L.
Luis answered and listened to my mini meltdown filled with anxiety. And to my surprise, he said he could come help!!! He showed up quickly and resolved my shower issue with ease. He was extremely professional and definitely reliable. I will definitely save him for any future issues I may have with my home and businesses plumbing, and have already recommended him to my social groups.

We had a plumbing emergency late at night and contacted J&L Plumbing, Luis messaged me right away and gave me a very reasonable quote.
He was able to come out the same night and fix our problem, I would deff recommend J&L to anyone
I had a kitchen remodel and needed plumbing help to hook up the sink garbage disposal and dishwasher. Luis and team were very responsive and did a great job. He was able to quickly move the drain pipe and hook up the garbage disposal so we could use the sink. He worked quickly and cleaned up the area after the work was done. I would hire them again.
Cannot thank these guys enough for all of the work that they did. Before buying our first home, we knew that we were going to need some serious repairs to the entire drainage system. We got a couple of other quotes, but Luis was offering the best service for the best price.
After each day, Luis would update me on what they got done, what the next steps are, and when he would be there next, which I very much appreciated. When they ran into speed bumps, they always found a way around it. It took a few more days than originally anticipated, but the entire drainage was fixed.
Additionally, they took care of a few more little issues that we had in the home (toilet not flushing properly, leaking sprinkler) without any fuss.
I will definitely be hiring this company again if we have any future issues.

J & l plunbing is so great. We had two broken showers. This could have been a very expensive fix, but i explained i just dont have alot of money and he fixed two baths for me for 1/2 the price. He also took a look at my brand new broken heater. He made sure all was good. Fixed that also. I didnt know about the air filter. He taught me for free. I highly recommend J & L plumbing.
Highly recommend these guys! They came same day and did excellent work clearing out our clogged drains from root infestation and corroded pipes. He showed me live video of the camera going through the pipes and how bad the roots were, and showed me after he was finished clearing them. Night and day difference. He even had some specialty tools that most big name plumbing companies don't use, like the right hydro jetter attachment for 2in pipes. All other companies I tried before him said they didn't have the right tools for 2in pipes and tried to get us to re pipe everything. Highly recommend Luis at J&L plumbing. And it's a family owned business!
Very happy with them! Luis came out the same day I contacted them back when it last rained super hard in the last week of December 2020. Our backyard had flooded into our garage bc our drains were super backed up. He worked hard and relentlessly in the rain and in the dark (brought his own lighting of course)! Could tell he was passionate about his job and made sure to show and communicate all of the work he was doing. Gave us some preventative recommendations too!

Luis and his co-worker came out around 9:30pm during the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. The estimate he gave over the phone was for coming on Monday or Tuesday, but he called and said they could make it out on Sunday night. They both were very professional, and worked on clearing out a clog that was in the line leading to the main sewer. Luis took time to explain each step of the process. They were able to complete the work around midnight. The estimate quoted was the amount they charged. Would highly recommend their services.
Excellant professional service. I've been cheated twice by shady plumbers in the past, so I think I know bad service. I definetely plan to call on J&L again.
Luis came out right away very professional he was only offered one job but in looking at what was happening multiple problems occur and handed each and everyone of them he was professional on time and did what needed to be done that's great service going beyond and above.

The response time for them to come out was within 3 hrs of us calling them. Which was great since we had a morning emergency....our main drain line was clogged and we had clogged toilets and bathtub....not a pretty site. Luis came out and did a great job, he ran the cord through 2 of our overflow pipes and made sure everything was unclogged. He was out here 3hrs when it should have only taken 1hr max, so they really do care the job is done right. Will definitely use them in the future!

Quick with providing a quote and setting up an appointment. Got the job done and angle valve replaced for connection to dishwasher.
Answers calls and is responsive, which is a big plus.
Had to keep pushing back the appointment time (was wondering why he didn't show up) and didn't accept PayPal, Venmo, of zelle. Otherwise, would be 5 stars.
We had purchased a new washer and dryer and needed to have the 30+ year old water outlets replaced before the appliances were delivered.
We only had a few days between the purchase and the delivery, so it had to be done quickly.
Luis set up an appointment within a day which was a great relief.
He and his brother showed up on time, and as promised, both wore masks the entire time they were here. For us, this was a sticking point as both my wife and I have immune issues.
The work required replacing the laundry box which held the cold and hot water outlets as well as the drain. Cutting out a section of drywall was also necessary in order to access the piping.
They did an excellent job of replacing the old outlets with new and upgraded plumbing, and repairing the drywall. I can't even tell where they made the cuts! All that was left for me to do was to repaint that section.
Over all, I was very happy with the communication, quality of the work, and the fact that he actually listened to and answered any questions that I had.
I will definitely use J&L Plumbing Services in the future for any additional work I need.
Luis is a meticulous hard working person and I am so glad to have found him. He took a very good care of my clogged sink. He was quick with the appointment, on time and did a careful job. He made sure he wore shoe covers when he was inside and was masked the whole time. I would definitely hire him again.

I responded to a $99.00 drain clearing quote. Pleasant fellows came out and told me, due to a tree root in the pipe, I had to tunnel under my slab home from the outside and then replace the pTrap and possibly a new line between my shower drain and toilet (about 4 feet). A 3 day job for $6,500. I fixed it myself with $30 worth of chemicals from bjdiscount.com in Garden Grove, CA!

Luis showed up and listened about the issue with our drain. He worked diligently to get it cleared and then cleaned up after himself. It looked like we hadn't had any work done. He kept me informed along the way and answered all my questions. It took a while to fix our clog and he still stuck to his original estimate. I would have understood if it cost more. I woke up this morning to find out my water pipe in the backyard was leaking. Unfortunately, I could not close the valve as it was rusted. I called Luis and he was very accommodating to my schedule. Awesome job. Can't thank them enough for clearing out a clogged pipe that had been clogged since the lockdown started March 2020. I kept saying I'd get someone over when the pandemic is over but that never really came and the Clog just kept persisting. He gave the fastest quote and best price and came over and after a few hours, the clog and it's other clog friends that I didn't know about were all cleared. Masks were worn the whole time, no issue there either. Will be using them again since now we know how are pipes have to be maintained and they need a yearly cleaning. Also, I have had 2 plumbers check out our pipes over the past few years about unrelated clogs and they never fixed the entire issue and would tell me that something was funky with the piping and they would have to remove the outside concrete to see what's the matter and then resolve it. How much that would be? Who knows? Louis however has a handy dandy cam that goes in and he can just see the problem and then told me the solution. Way better than just ruining your front yard on a hunch.
I am very grateful and ecstatic to have found J&L Plumbing Services on a holiday weekend. Luis was amazing, timely, thorough, friendly and conscientious. We had a clogged kitchen drain issue and Luis was quick to respond to our inquiry. During the initial investigation, Luis and Rafael were able to identify the root problem that required reconfiguration of drain pipes. They committed to come back to start/finish the job the very next day and made it happen. They were friendly, professional and had masks on the whole time. Even though our main line was in need of an overhaul, they didn't oversell it. So we agreed to a regular preventative maintenance schedule where they will just check up on periodically. Luis and I agreed he would be at my house on Monday at 8am. When he doesn't arrive by 8:45 I message him and say where are you. He apologized and says to reschedule for Wednesday at 8am. He is a no show again so I message him again and he tells me I am not even on his schedule. Totally unprofessional.
Called in the afternoon for shower valve replacement. Luis said he would be there at 6pm. Called him then he said 7pm, then he said he was going to get dinner. SERIOUSLY??? He never showed up, never called and we spent the night with the water turned off. Now waiting for a REAL plumber. Absolutely the most unprofessional plumber ever encountered. DO NOT USE THESE CLOWNS!!!

Needed a plumber as our sink stopped draining.... Did a late night target run for a plunger and nope; did nothing... next morning decided to send out a request for quotes from Yelp and J&L responded the quickest with actual estimate of how much the job would cost PLUS was able to come out that day.... Late one night one of my toilets downstairs started overflowing, and since the drain was backed up, the toilet in the other bathroom started leaking as well. Had a mini meltdown but managed to get a hold of Luis at 11pm. He came out the next day, examined everything and long story short was able to clear the drains and get everything flowing properly. Cleared my shower drain as well (I'm sorry for all the hair!). Very patient throughout the process and took the time to explain everything. Reasonable price as well.
