These guys were our saviors! We had a major main drain issue and it just so happen that it was late in the evening. I called 15 dollar drain and plumbing all I have to say took them an hour to come to the conclusion on destroying my house.. Thank god they never showed up the next day! I called the drain king and he figured it out in 20 min got it done fast and affordable!!! Thank you guys!!! Will be calling you for every plumbing need w have!!!

I am very happy with these guys! I had a very unhappy bathroom situation with a backed up sewer which caused overflows every time someone flushed the toilet. Rob and Nick (I hope I got his name right) came out very quickly and immediately jumped into the job snaking the drain pipe. The sewer line runs right next to a giant tree in the yard, so the roots had clogged the line completely. These guys were done in less than half an hour! The flat fee of $50 was insanely cheap compared to other quotes! Oh, and a huge bonus was a mini-lesson on Drain/Sewer 101 so that I understood what they were doing and so I could know more about how to fix things in the future. These guys are obviously very knowledgeable and have a lot of experience! And they are REALLY nice!

Also worth mentioning - Rob has done a couple jobs for my parents from snaking out a few single-family home sewer lines to a complete replacement of a very old and very badly damaged sewer line (also to a single-family home). My parents are not yelp-savvy so I'm mentioning this in my review. My parents have been VERY happy with all of the work Rob has done for them.

I was surprised to read others' poor reviews based on scheduling issues. Rob works EXTREMELY hard and from the times I spoke to him from very early in the morning to late in the evening (trying to schedule a time when we were both free), he was at a job. So, these guys obviously work incredibly long hours. I know plumbing issues are THE worst kind of issues, but be patient in scheduling and you will not be disappointed with the service!! (And you can't beat his prices!)

I highly recommend these guys. They came within an hour and finished the job in minutes. They will even give you advice how to maintain your pipes and what products to use. Their price is very reasonable. We'll definitely call them again of need arises.

Highly recommend!

We have used Rob twice and both times he was prompt,  fair, easy to talk to and got the job done.

The first time was when I accidentally dropped and flushed my sunglasses into the toilet. Rob came out within the hour, and thankfully was able to remove the toilet and retrieve them.

The second time was when we had an old toilet start leaking days before we had guests coming into town. Rob came out the same day and removed the old toilet and did the necessary plumbing work to prep for the new one. When we picked up the new one, it turned out that my wife had measured wrong and it wouldn't fit. She admitted she figured all toilets were the same and she got the pretty one. Rob handled this with ease, and was able to do what was needed to be done to get the new toilet installed.

I would absolutely recommend The Drain King for any plumbing needs.

I called him Sunday afternoon and he was able to come on Monday morning about 9:30. Rob spent time and fixed our drain problem. He also spent time explaining what's going on and what he was doing. He was fast worker and seems honest and reliable. His price was great too. Highly recommended!

Rob and his team were professional and efficient. Best of all they were honest! They did not try to up sell me off stuff I didn't need. My plumbing issue involved old pipes inside of the wall. The team fixed the issue, patched up the wall and cleaned up the area! (Before and after pictures posted)
I will be using Fanti again in future issues and I would definitely recommend them!

Thanks again to the Drain King.  This review is for their recent visit to my mom's place, where the kitchen sink drain was completely stopped.  I tried removing the disposal and p-trap, but the snake I had wouldn't reach the clog.  They came out, had the same results under the sink, so they attacked the issue through the roof vent.  Quick, efficient, polite, and reasonable.  Thanks for the senior discount and the great work again!

I manage an apartment complex in downtown San Jose. It's an older building and with that comes the frequent leaks and clogs. Rob is my go to plumber. I've been using him for at least 2 years and it's good to know that I can rely on him to solve any plumbing problem.

His prices are good, he cleans up after his work is done, and he is friendly and helpful when dealing with the Tenants.

Came promptly and snaked my main sewer line than was causing a backup up into the bath.  After inspection he explained what the problem was, and that my cleanout was not bidirectional but he would be able to get the snake up the other way, which he did.

He noted I have tree roots in the drain line and suggested I replace the cleanout with a better one and have the roots cleared, which I will certainly ask him back to do at a later day.

Nice guy, straight forward prices - I will use him again and recommend him to my friends.

Rob came out early on a holiday weekend to fix my problem.  What I had spent 2.5 hours trying to fix yesterday, he fixed in less than 5 minutes.  As soon as he looked at my shower, he immediately knew what the problem was and went right to work.  When I told him how stupid I felt after that, he assured me that it was his many years of experience that gave him the upper hand.  

I really want to give him 5 stars for being the King, but he was an hour late and I came home on my lunch break to meet with him so it really sucked for me (especially since my lunch is only 30 minutes so I was late getting back to work).   I went into work early (4:15am) so I could take my lunch at 8 to meet him at my house so I lost out on two hours sleep to make sure I was here on time. He did text me 30 minutes after his scheduled time to tell me that he was running behinds but he was on his way.  If it wasn't for the fact that I was late to work, I would not have cared about him being an hour late because he was still at my house by 9am on a holiday.

I will absolutely give Rob a call for any plumbing needs that come up in the future!

Called the Drain King for a emergency call on Saturday when it was pouring rain, the rain caused some flooding in my backyard drains. Spoke to Robert, who came out as soon as he could along with one of his technicians. They took their time to diagnose the issue, run the equipment and explain the process and next steps. The issue was fixed, but I will need additional repairs made. Great customer service, I will be contacting them again for the additional repairs that need to be made!

I spoke with Edgar a few time, he was very sincere and nice. The plumber who came Oscar was also very nice. if I have another issue I'd give them a call.

Rob came out at 7:00pm to fix our plumbing problem. Found some roots in our line, got them cleaned out and everything's been running great since. Nice guy, great price. The only slightly negative thing was that we called 3 times before we received a call back. But in the end Rob did a great job, was very professional, nice and charged a fair price. Would definitely recommend.

Our church (Trinity Church, Sunnyvale, Ca) had schedule Drain King for a Saturday to unclog a toilet in our nursery but that very morning our other building Gateway Neighborhood Center restrooms backup. We had a NCVA Volleyball tournament going on.

He had to wait for us to find the main drain pipe for the building so he could snake it. Both buildings use to be warehouses so they are big. I think it took him 2.5 hours to fix this but this was our fault.

The nursery he did really fast a sock was jamming in it and he was able to pull it out.

We were expecting a hung bill. But he only change us $75.00 total for both jobs.

Rob, (owner/plumber) was really patience with us as we try to find the main pipe. He is also a christian and runs his business with those principles.

I found Drain King on Yelp. The owner Rob is very knowledgeable and uses top of the line equipment to help diagnose and fix your plumbing issues. I called him on a Saturday and he was very quick to come out and help me with my issue. He was also very friendly and helpful even after the repairs were completed. I would recommend this company.

What a life saver. We were having 20 people over for Christmas and our main line drain clogged the day before. Found Drain King on Yelp and liked what others had to say. Gave them a call and Rob was here within the hour, snaked the drain and saved the day, and at a reasonable price. These guys care about customer service.

I would give negative stars if possible.  I called multiple times over the span of several months. Each time I got the answering service, and requested a call back.  I never got one.  Not even a, sorry, I was too busy. I've never dealt with a business with such utter lack of respect for a potential customer.  Contacting these guys was a complete waste of time.  If that is representative of how they operate, I'm glad I didn't have them do any work for me.

My main line was backed up again.... Not something I wanted to deal with. My friend told me to call Drain King and I had a plumber at my house in 3 hours!! They were professional and cleared my line fast! In the past I've been told my line wouldn't clear and would need to pay thousands. I'll be calling Drain King for all my plumbing needs!!

I'll say what others said: honest, quick, affordable. I called at 6:30pm about a stopped up drain that would occasionally explode through the drainpipe for the washing machine in the garage. I didn't need things fixed that night (nor the customary emergency fee). Set up an appointment with his scheduler for the next day at 3pm.

Me: Can he give me a heads up when he's on his way?
Her: We can give you a 10-minute courtesy call, sure thing.

Sweet. Ten till three, she calls to say he's running behind schedule. I'm bummed--gimme my kitchen back!--but totally appreciate the heads up. Rob arrives closer to 4:30 or so, and to be honest, I was expecting him to be a little defensive, a little tired, from a day of work. I'm obviously not his last customer that day, since he's running about 1.5 hours late. Instead, he arrives with a huge smile and a thumbs up (literally). Super nice. He was just super pleasant and made me feel instantly at ease. He isn't someone who is angry with you for calling him to do what he does--you've probably run into the type.

Instead, I've got Rob, a guy who shook my hand and introduced himself, then went to town on my drain. He had it fixed in about 20 minutes, and then had me flush my kitchen sink while he disconnected my washing machine's hot water line, put it in the drainpipe, and flush that for a few minutes. The whole time, he's there telling me where the rest of my plumbing is without having gone inside, and explaining where the problem was and why it wasn't clogging up the rest of the house.

What else? He'll also put you on a schedule to come out once a year and drain out and flush out the whole house as preventative maintenance. He puts it in his calendar and then calls you when it's time to set up an appointment. Great detail for a small company like his.

And lastly, the bill: he charged me $50. I wrote him a check for $60 and asked him to buy himself lunch on me the next day. That's how much I liked him.

I'm updating my review. I had a clogged sink and I of course was going to call back Rob since he had done a great job in the past. He came late but I was around the house anyways so it didn't matter. He unclogged my sink and did it for free since he was so late. What a great guy! I really do think he is a great guy! However, the unclogging didn't work so I had to call him back. He said he would come and gave me a time slot. He didn't show. So I called him back and he gave me a time slot for the next morning and he said he would be there. No Show. I called him and he acted as though he forgot about me. He gave me another time slot that evening. No Show. I never called him back and he never called me back to follow up. I'm sad that this didn't work out, but that's three times I have sat around and waited for him. When he comes, he's a great guy and knows his stuff.

I heard about The Drain King from a co-worker. Having respect for this person's thoughts I called Rob. He gave me a great price on a major drain clog that I was not able to rectify on my own. His man was there on site within the specified time, the gentleman who came was very nice, knowledgeable and friendly!
The area was cleaned after the work had been completed and they removed the sewage in plastic bags that they took with them. I was extremely happy with Rob & his Team @ The Drain King and will definitely use his services again!!!

Short story
1. Quoted for $56 charged $300 for the exactly job I asked
2. Did poor job. Diagnose sewage line breakage but did not locate it.
3. Did not leave invoice or receipt.
4. After 1 month conversation I was not able to get invoice from them. They recognize my number and just don't talk to me.
5. Left a bit mess. Not much though but if I did not give them a towel it would be more. Still there were the messiest of several plumbers I had.

Conclusion: Avoid

Long story.

I had a suspicion that a sewage line is broken (from other plumber). I called them and was quoted $56. I told them that I don't have blockage but I need a plumber to run the camera through the sewage line. Repeated that several times because quote looked too low and rating is very high.
They came snaked the drain even thought I told them that I need a camera in (yeah, right, the other plumbers are stupid). After half an hour decided finally to put camera in. They diagnosed the breakage but did not bother locate it even though I asked about it at the beginning. They asked about old towels ... Huh? Then the price came up. I asked why so high he explains that he spent 1.5 hour and did snake the drain (I did not ask for snaking I insisted that I did not need it) the camera take 15 minutes and the rest of the time walking around and analyzing the problem.
Then I needed invoice for my home warranty. I was talking to them for 6 weeks. I was not able to get an invoice or receipt from them. Probably this service did not end up in a book. That may explain the affordability.

Third time we've used them. Great service. Called Robert at 10 AM for a leak around a water line to the toilet. He was out and completed the repair by 11:30. Very reasonable rates. Recommended without reservation.

MORE THAN JUST DRAIN CLEANING, they do plumbing jobs as well. Great service, good rates. I and my neighbors have used them on multiple occasions with success! For drain cleaning, their rates are terrific. Based on how much of an emergency it is, they will come to you quickly. They clean up after themselves and make sure you are happy. For plumbing jobs, they give you an estimate and stick to the very fair price. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!

I was in desperate need of a plumber and found them on YELP. They were very professional, nice and trustworthy. They showed us what the problem was using pictures from under the house. Quoted us a price and stuck with it. The job was a big one and took a long time to complete but they stayed with it until very late in the night until the job was complete. I highly recommend them.

Drain King cleaned the sewer pipes blocked by roots. They were honest and saved me a large amount of money another company (Discount Plumbers)  asked to do the same job. I am so glad I contacted them. Second opinions rock! use Drain King and you will be happy with their job.

I used this plumbers because I found them on yelp with lots of reviews and 4.5 stars. I wonder how they got that many stars? They got no customer service and no word on what they say they will do.

When I called this company they said they wouldl be there in 3 hours. After 3 hours I called to see what was going on, they had not shown up. The guy said they were running late a on job because it was raining and that it would take another hour ( a call back would have been great to let me know they were running late). After another hour had past I called again, I was told it would be yet another hour.  By this time it was too late in the day to get another plumber for that day and all my house drainage was plugged including toilets, so I had to choice then to wait. Another hour went by and they did not show up, I call them again, I was told they would be there in 15 minutes,10 minutes after the 15 minutes had passed, I called again and finally they got to the house.

They were fast and got the job done right away. They were done within 10 minutes and the is the reason I did not give them Zero stars, because everything else was horrible.

They did not have any more receipts. I need a receipt for my landlord. One of the guys promised to email me a receipt, so I gave him my email address. I did not receive any receipt by the following day, so I email the guy and asked for the receipt. I also called and left a message asking for my receipt. I still did not get a receipt. I few day later I called again and there was no answer, so I left a message again asking for my receipt, I also emailed them at the email in their business card again with bold letters as a second request title in the email message. I still did not get any receipt. I gave up trying to get a receipt.

Bottom line, this guys may know how to do the work but they have no customer service and no word on what they say. I will never use them again. They have wasted lost of my time and there are so many other plumbers why waste your time with them.

i called at noon on a weekday, got an answering service. robert called me back half an hour later. he told me to call back when i got home from work in a few hours.

called him at 2:45, he was on another job. mine wasn't urgent. he said he'd be out in about an hour. showed up around 5, checked out my drains, then said he had to go pick up his dog from doggie day care, would be back in 40 min or so. came back maybe 6:30, which was fine, i wasn't going anywhere.

they never even needed to come in the house. he snaked both my clean outs for one low price, $50, flat. he said he used to work for $15 sewer and drain for years, then he opened his own company.

he and his assistant were exceedingly polite and friendly. they didn't seem bothered at all by my excitable dogs.

i got referred to him by a friend. she said he did a good job of snaking her home drain, but gave an unrealistically high bid for a bigger job at her work.

my pipes are ancient. do not slope evenly to the street, and have tree roots growing in them to boot. i don't even throw toilet paper in them to avoid the inevitable clogs, which lead to water pouring out the clean out and under my house.

i explained to robert that the company that installed the two clean outs quoted about 30k to re-pipe my whole house (a one br, one bath with only a slab foundation, which would need to be torn up). since the house is a not worth that much, it would make more sense to just tear the whole house down before re-piping.  rob scoffed, said he could redo them all (sewer and water) for 4k, which seemed awfully low.

Our main line had a major clogged. After running the camera for inspection. They came across a tree root damaging our line causing a backup. Rob and his team got to work quick. He recommended some repairs to be done in order to fixed the problem. Very straightforward, no BS. I appreciate the teams hard work. Respectful and friendly staff.

How would you interpret that?

I expected it to mean that he was quoting standard prices and offered a discount from that. Instead, after the work was done, Rob charged $200 and explained that he meant that he had quoted the prices with the discount already included.

Rob did fine with the 10 minutes of snaking the main line. I'm only disappointed with the communication.

I think Rob & Nick are the best! They helped me out today... yet again!  My house is really old with really old pipes and they have come out several times to do clean outs on our lines. Rob has been able to schedule me for the next day from when I called in to request service and does a great job. Both Rob & Nick are polite, very personable and work very hard.  They inform and show you what they are doing and certainly have the experience to answer any questions you may have. Great plumber!  I first met Rob on an emergency service call.  One of my rental units had a sewer backup (3rd time) so we came out on very short notice and quickly cleared the line.  I had just paid more than $1,000 to  another plumber to clear, and even install a device to supposedly prevent this from happening again - but it did and when I called them to see if they would clear, they wanted $250 to come out.  Called Rob and he provided a very low flat fee.  The next day he even came back with a camera and confirmed there were roots in the the sewer line, and that this problem would continue unless fixed.  I did not believe him because the last plumber also ran a camera and cleared the line and even installed a anti-backup device in sewer.  Also there were not trees there just concrete driveway.

Rob scheduled time for me to view the camera together and sure enough there was evidence of roots - and bad seals in these 100yr old clay sewer lines.  He recommended replacing the section and provided a very competitive bid.  This involved removing about 40 feet of concrete, re-routing pretty much all drain lines for 4 units in the building and even trenched further than needed so I could run conduit for electrical to the detached garage for future laundry room and even ran new copper pluming at same time.  He even installed another anti-backup device, but this time in the correct place.   After trenching he not only uncovered rotted pipes, but  also about 3 ft of tree roots about 6 in circumference evading pipes.

Because this was a rental property, it was critical that he performed work safely (covered up trench at all times and placed safety tape) and cleaned up nicely afterwards.

Rob is very honest and keeps to his word.  He does not try to upsell or do work that is not necessary.  And in this case, he redid the work correctly for the other plumber who I already paid.

I was impressed. Rob and his co-worker snaked my drain (which included ingrowing roots) incredibly quickly and for half the price of any other service I saw online. $50 flat fee (when most charged $90-$140). They were friendly and polite, and best of all guaranteed their work for 30 days. (If it gets clogged again in that time they return for free) My call wasn't urgent (preventative maintenance) but they still set up a time within a few hours of my call. I'm happy to recommend them.

We can't say enough good things about Robert, but we'll try..

First, a couple months ago, right before we're supposed to go out of town for extended period, our bathroom sinks backed up severely. Happened around 6pm & our flight was on 9pm. We called Robert right away. He was supposed to lead a Bible study that night at 7:30pm, but I pleaded with him & he was so gracious to come. Talk about really taking care of your customers!

It was a really tough clog & a lot of people would've given up, but not Rob. He stuck with it & got it unclogged, he is truly the Drain King!! 24/7 availability at a very low flat fee... can't get any better than that!

So, obviously, when we need to replace our master toilet, I called Rob. Again he quoted me a flat fee, 50% or more of what others quote me.
But the best part is, he also told me to call him from Home Depot when I was picking the new toilets to make sure I got the best one for my situation & budget.
Today, he replaced the toilet & again, we couldn't be happier with his work.

Bottom line, if you got any kind of plumbing jobs, big or small, do yourself a favor and give Rob a call for a quote first and put him up against all the other 4-5 Yelp stars plumbing companies... You won't regret it!!

With his integrity, faith, and vision, I believe he will build a big company, helping a lot of people along the way.

This is the 2nd time we've used The Drain King. This time we had a clean-out installed and the main, as well as the kitchen lines cleaned out. Jose had to remove a rose bush to install the clean-out where he determined would be the best place. He was kind enough to replant the rose, as well as some other plants. We had several other bids for this job, but Robert quoted the best price.

Came promptly and snaked my main sewer line than was causing a backup up into the bath. After inspection he explained what the problem was, and that my cleanout was not bidirectional but he would be able to get the snake up the other way, which he did.

He noted I have tree roots in the drain line and suggested I replace the cleanout with a better one and have the roots cleared, which I will certainly ask him back to do at a later day.

Nice guy, straight forward prices - I will use him again and recommend him to my friends.

I had an emergency of the clogged main pipe on Wednesday night because the plumber came a week ago but did not finish its work. I was grateful that Rob, the owner was very responsive to my inquiry. He was able to come out early the next day to give a camera inspection right away. Rob is also very patient to explain the cause and the various solutions for fixing the pipe.
Throughout the repairing process of two days, Rob was able to give me updates on the progress, and he and his crews work long hours for two days to fix the pipes as well as changing the opening of the pipe to how it should be set up properly. Rob took great care of the surrounding area of my garage and also clean up nicely after the project. He is very professional and did an excellent job! I highly recommend Rob for any drain issues!

I would give negative stars if possible. I called multiple times over the span of several months. Each time I got the answering service, and requested a call back. I never got one. Not even a, sorry, I was too busy. I've never dealt with a business with such utter lack of respect for a potential customer. Contacting these guys was a complete waste of time. If that is representative of how they operate, I'm glad I didn't have them do any work for me.

Robert and his assistant were both great. He arrived told me he would (within only an hour of my call to him). We had tried to fix the problem ourselves.... so we had a clogged drain as well as a sewer snake stuck in the pipe. He got right to work (and didn't laugh at our failed attempt!). His price was completely fair, he got the snake out, and cleared the clog in the main line. He assured us that he is available 24/7 if we ever need him in the future. I would call him again in a heart beat if we need another plumber.

I called Robert Saturday afternoon (in the middle of this COVID-19 crisis)... he picked up my phone and literally just helped me solve this issue. Saturday, January 2 and it's my last day of visiting my mother up here in San Jose.  I find that her washing machine's drainage line is plugged and every time she does laundry, it soaks the whole corner of her garage floor.  I call Drain King with dim hopes and visions of my return trip back to SoCal being delayed.  I leave a message and they call back shortly after and let me know they will be here within an hour.  An hour later and not only have they arrived, but they are done and the line is clear!  Really nice guys.  Totally friendly and professional and they did it for about half the cost of other people (rip-off artists) who have come out over the years.  Thanks to Drain King, I still get to leave town before the rain comes and I have the satisfaction of knowing my mother's washing machine is no longer flooding the garage.  Highest recommendation.

Had drains backing up and was out of town.  Selected Drain King to call based upon Yelp reviews.  They quoted a price over the phone of $150 to come out and clean out our drains.  

Got a call when the job was done -- they had charged over $300, without bothering to get prior authorization for the increase.  Worse, they had to come back out the next day as the drain that was backing up in the first place backed up again.  When I finally got back into town and could check out their work, the good news was the drain was flowing.  The bad news:  it was stinky - after looking around, I learned that a floor drain cleanup had been opened and the interior plug that seals in those nasty sewer gasses had been discarded - and the drain cover was not even screwed in - with several screws lost.  Called the Drain King day after day.  He said they'd come by later that day  then tomorrow  then finally he said we didn't touch that drain.  Well, I know it was there before they came, and gone when they left, so you decide.

As a result, I can't recommend these folks.  Not sure they know what they are doing and don't think they can take responsibility for their own mistakes.

I never write reviews, but had to write one this time. We are a large apartment complex and we typically are able to resolve 99.9 percent of any maintenance issues but this time needed help with a backed up sewer line. Rob showed up within half an hour and was done within the hour. They had an extremely reasonable rate. The owner of our complex, is weary of many companies but was very pleased with this company. We definitely will be using them, if any issues come up that require outside help. Thank You Rob!

Another year another root stuck in the drain causing back up!

I called drain king as I had such a good experience and they were happy to send someone up.
What they failed to mention was there was an after hour charge and  they were sending someone from another business they partner with.

The problem was fixed but at a high price tag.

This is the second time I have used DK for a plugged kitchen drain in that past couple of years and was extremely happy with their service. I called Rob around 10 in the morning and he indicated he would be able to show up shortly after noon that day. In addition, he quoted me a flat rate price that was around 30% cheaper than any other estimate. He showed up on time with several of his crew and proceed to diagnose and correct the problem within a half hour. He paid particular attention to making sure that his crew cleaned up after they were finished. I would highly recommend Rob and Drain King for your plumbing needs.

Honest, quick, and affordable. Ken was obviously a good guy, and was super reasonable and thorough. He actually did more than just the job at hand, and crawled all under my house to make sure there was no other leakage issues. Most importantly, he seems to be an honest person who won't try to unnecessarily up sell or overcharge people who really don't know about plumbing; which is basically most everyone.

I had a root issue out to the sewer line basically clogging my whole house, and had initially booked with someone I found on google, but after checking yelp, decided to give The Drain King a shot. So glad I did. I ended up with a new clean-out, and Ken ran the camera down there 3 or 4 times for me so I could see exactly what he was talking about in between running the snake with the blades, and additionally ran different size cutters to make sure the root issues wouldn't cause me trouble for a while (plus gave me a 1 year warranty to come back if I have further issues).

I highly recommend using the drain king if you want someone who you can trust to not overcharge you, and to do a good job. I'll definitely be using The Drain King again, and will recommend them to anyone who asks.

The Drain King is very fast, very reliable, and very reasonable with rates.

The owner has worked many years with another local plumbing company that I had used several times.  I gave him a try this year on my drain clean out and he charges only $50, less than half of the other company.

A few months later, I had a grey water pipe fail between my kitchen sink and main sewer line under the house.  Robert and his assistant came right over and diagnosed the problem very quickly.  He patiently explained the problem and consequences.  He also went over the correct way to repair the damage and prevent it in the future.  His quote was very reasonable and he was able to start on it immediately.

Robert and Nick were extremely professional, quick, and clean.  They laid down paper runners and kept the inside of my house clean.  They repaired the pipe, cleaned up the mess underneath the house and left the entire site cleaner than they arrived.

In summary, The Drain King is quick to respond, very professional in his service, and has extremely competitive rates.  I highly recommend them.

I tried removing the disposal and p-trap, but the snake I had wouldn't reach the clog. They came out, had the same results under the sink, so they attacked the issue through the roof vent. Rob is an outstanding technician and a truly honest man. After having a larger, more commercial company come out to inspect our sewer problem and provide an estimate, he came out and fixed the problem with no problems at all.

The other company came out first to cable the main line and provide a camera inspection of the sewer line that cost $450 because of labor and special equipment. The guy then said that he couldn't clear the line and that it would cost over $7,000 for a main line sewer replacement of 55' foot w/property line clean out. After learning about this, I immediately started doing additional research and calling other companies.

Being that it was Sunday, it was a little difficult to find someone that could come out, but I found The Drain King on Yelp and Rob graciously came out on his Sunday afternoon to conduct an inspection and provide another estimate. After explaining the situation, he simply snaked the line and fixed the problem within minutes. To be honest, he explained that the line would still need a proper cleaning for a more long term solution, but that it wasn't a huge problem (like the other company tried to tell us) and that he could come out later in the week to do this.

I am definitely a satisfied customer and I strongly recommend The Drain King for any plumbing or rooter needs. Rob provided me with great rates and nothing but honesty throughout the whole ordeal!

We have used Rob twice and both times he was prompt, fair, easy to talk to and got the job done.

The first time was when I accidentally dropped and flushed my sunglasses into the toilet. Rob came out within the hour, and thankfully was able to remove the toilet and retrieve them.

The second time was when we had an old toilet start leaking days before we had guests coming into town. Rob came out the same day and removed the old toilet and did the necessary plumbing work to prep for the new one. When we picked up the new one, it turned out that my wife had measured wrong and it wouldn't fit. She admitted she figured all toilets were the same and she got the pretty one. Rob handled this with ease, and was able to do what was needed to be done to get the new toilet installed.

I would absolutely recommend The Drain King for any plumbing needs.

Our church (Trinity Church, Sunnyvale, Ca) had schedule Drain King for a Saturday to unclog a toilet in our nursery but that very morning our other building Gateway Neighborhood Center restrooms backup. We had a NCVA Volleyball tournament going on.

He had to wait for us to find the main drain pipe for the building so he could snake it. Both buildings use to be warehouses so they are big. I think it took him 2.5 hours to fix this but this was our fault.

The nursery he did really fast a sock was jamming in it and he was able to pull it out.

We were expecting a hung bill. But he only change us $75.00 total for both jobs.

Rob, (owner/plumber) was really patience with us as we try to find the main pipe. He is also a christian and runs his business with those principles.

The good: Rob seems like an honest guy and knows his craft.

The bad: Not licensed, takes multiple days of constant telephone calls to get a return call (see details below).

I had a sewer backup and needed to opted to replace my sewer line. After contacting The Drain King, the dispatcher told me that Rob would come out in between jobs during the day and look at my property and give me a quote without me needing to be present. At the end of the day, I had to call back and see what happened -- the dispatcher told me that Rob did not go out to my house yet and would be able to go that evening. To his credit, he did show up and give me a very competitive bid for replacing my sewer line. He explained that he would do the job that cheap because he is not licensed and I would need to pull the permits. Not a problem, I told him. He then told me he would be able to start the job in 2 days. This is where the lack of responsiveness begins. I called his secretary back several times, leaving messages and requests for Rob to call me back to confirm the plans for work. 4 days passed before he finally called me, by which time I had already found another licensed contractor to do the work.

Not sure how busy Rob's schedule is, but clearly, he and his secretary don't have time to respond to all of their customers in any kind of acceptable time frame. I'm sure some customers do get timely responses, and had he responded to me as promised, I would have hired him. But be careful - no license means potential liability problems for you, and communication might be an issue too.

The price was pretty good, $50. We had the same drain clogged two years ago and cost us around $150. They all do the same thing to clean out the clogs - using the professional snake. Do not try to buy the snake on your own, the snake you get is usually too small/short and without the motor behind it, you can not push very far. They fixed the problem within 1 hour.

If you're looking for an affordable plumber who can make things work according to your picky plans...Rob's the guy. My husband and I are building a brand new master bath and we had some logistical issues on how to connect the new plumbing to existing water/sewer lines. We met with at least 8 other companies to get bids and ideas on what to do (Dempster, EJ plumbing, Water Quality, Quality Plus, AAA etc.) The prices ranged from $3k (AAA) to $22k (EJ) . **sidenote: seriously, $22k from EJ Plumbing!!! How can they justify so much?!

In the end we went with Rob and Drain King because he seemed to know what he was talking about the most and honestly, I just got a very vibe from him than the other people that came by. His price was really close to the cheapest and his team got the job done in 2 weeks. Cut the concrete slab to add new piping, installed new shower, vanity, toilet and tub. Nick and the other guys were there almost always on time.

The reason I had to -1 star: not licensed, Rob is never on time, they left a pile of wood in front of my house, the 2 vanity sink plumbing were too close together so my husband had to redo some of it, and the rainfall shower piping was crooked.

Nothing to be too upset over so it's no big deal. You get what you pay for and The Drain King was a great deal. I'd definitely recommend them.

I'm 100% sure Rob and Nick will know who this is when they read my review :)

Drain King is great. Rob came out right away. I had a sink removed and needed pipes cut back and new valves installed in another sink. He did a great job at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them

Another year another root stuck in the drain causing back up!

I called drain king as I had such a good experience and they were happy to send someone up.
What they failed to mention was there was an after hour charge and they were sending someone from another business they partner with.

The problem was fixed but at a high price tag.

Rob and his team were professional and efficient.  Best of all they were honest!  They did not try to up sell me off stuff I didn't need.  My plumbing issue involved old pipes inside of the wall.  The team fixed the issue, patched up the wall and cleaned up the area! (Before and after pictures posted)
I will be using Fanti again in future issues and I would definitely recommend them!

Rob is terrific! He came over on a Sunday and wouldn't leave until the job was done. Ultimately they had to dig a new clean-out but the entire process was honest, friendly, professional, and reasonably priced. Definitely worth giving him a call next time you need help.

I used this plumbers because I found them on yelp with lots of reviews and 4.5 stars. I wonder how they got that many stars? They got no customer service and no word on what they say they will do.

When I called this company they said they wouldl be there in 3 hours. After 3 hours I called to see what was going on, they had not shown up. The guy said they were running late a on job because it was raining and that it would take another hour ( a call back would have been great to let me know they were running late). After another hour had past I called again, I was told it would be yet another hour. By this time it was too late in the day to get another plumber for that day and all my house drainage was plugged including toilets, so I had to choice then to wait. Another hour went by and they did not show up, I call them again, I was told they would be there in 15 minutes,10 minutes after the 15 minutes had passed, I called again and finally they got to the house.

They were fast and got the job done right away. They were done within 10 minutes and the is the reason I did not give them Zero stars, because everything else was horrible.

They did not have any more receipts. I need a receipt for my landlord. One of the guys promised to email me a receipt, so I gave him my email address. I did not receive any receipt by the following day, so I email the guy and asked for the receipt. I also called and left a message asking for my receipt. I still did not get a receipt. I few day later I called again and there was no answer, so I left a message again asking for my receipt, I also emailed them at the email in their business card again with bold letters as a second request title in the email message. I still did not get any receipt. I gave up trying to get a receipt.

Bottom line, this guys may know how to do the work but they have no customer service and no word on what they say. I will never use them again. They have wasted lost of my time and there are so many other plumbers why waste your time with them.

Rob came out tonight (Sunday) when we had 2 showers with sewage backing up, & 2 toilets that were plugged & were not able to be unplugged.  Super nice, very personable.  Took the time to explain in great detail what the problem was, and a less expensive option than repiping.  Would not leave until he cleaned up the mess!  How often does that happen???   Overall, a great experience!

The good:  Rob seems like an honest guy and knows his craft.

The bad:  Not licensed, takes multiple days of constant telephone calls to get a return call (see details below).

I had a sewer backup and needed to opted to replace my sewer line.  After contacting The Drain King, the dispatcher told me that Rob would come out in between jobs during the day and look at my property and give me a quote without me needing to be present.  At the end of the day, I had to call back and see what happened -- the dispatcher told me that Rob did not go out to my house yet and would be able to go that evening.  To his credit, he did show up and give me a very competitive bid for replacing my sewer line.  He explained that he would do the job that cheap because he is not licensed and I would need to pull the permits.  Not a problem, I told him.  He then told me he would be able to start the job in 2 days.  This is where the lack of responsiveness begins.  I called his secretary back several times, leaving messages and requests for Rob to call me back to confirm the plans for work.  4 days passed before he finally called me, by which time I had already found another licensed contractor to do the work.

Not sure how busy Rob's schedule is, but clearly, he and his secretary don't have time to respond to all of their customers in any kind of acceptable time frame.  I'm sure some customers do get timely responses, and had he responded to me as promised, I would have hired him.  But be careful - no license means potential liability problems for you, and communication might be an issue too.

Drain King is the best! We a big clog issue on New Year's Eve and everyone we called either couldn't come or was charging a crazy amount. Rob is in fact the King!  He is an Outstanding plumber, and his craftsmanship is excellent. He is punctual and proficient. Very kind and respectful. Really aims to please. Very clean and safe. Will not stop until the job is done!

 I contacted 2 plumbers off of yelp, and had problems getting a same day appointment for an estimate. I finally got a plumber from Morgan Hill  to come out and he seemed unsure and reluctant to do the job. Plus his quote was unrealistically high. Then my neighbor referred me to Rob. I called Rob and he was at my house 45 minutes later. He gave me an estimate at a great reasonable and HONEST price. Started and completed the job the next day. I am a very satisfied customer and I would recommend Rob to all my friends and family. It's very rare that you find honest guy like Rob.

Great service! I  had called several plumbers to get my shower drain cleared and had been quoted everything from $95 for service the next day to $160 for immediate service. I finally found the drain King and I'm very satisfied with the service I received. I called them around 4 on a Monday afternoon and they quoted me less than anyone else I had called. A plumber arrived at my house before 5. My shower drain was completely backed up and water was not moving at all. He cleared the stoppage very quickly it couldn't have taken more than 5 minutes. Overall it was a good experience, great pricing, friendly staff and I would recommend them to anyone.

Well my experience with The Drain King was not favorable.  Something was up with my sewer line on Sunday evening and toilet and tub backed up. Not good at all.

After checking Yelp and a my neighborhood list serv to get some recommended plumbers, I called The Drain King around 7 a.m. on Monday morning. The receptionist guy took my info and said I would be contacted with an appointment time. No response until I followed up around 3 p.m.

At that point the receptionist said the plumbers were busy at other jobs, but would be able to come by on Tuesday to assist me with my problem. He said to expect them between 10-12. (I picked DK because they were the only ones I called who said they could work on the problem either same day or next. The others didn't have openings until end of week.)

Come Tuesday and no show between 10-12, so I called their office and they have been busy with an emergency job at a business. I was very understanding about that and said no problem. He promised they would be by within a few hours. By 2:15 p.m. two guys showed up (Rob and Plumber J) and they took a look at my situation and gave a plan of what they wanted to do which involved installing a clean out. I asked for a timeline on when this would be completed since it was getting late in the day and I needed to inform my work of my schedule to accommodate DK's schedule. They assured me they could do it today (Tuesday). They left to get some supplies and promised Plumber J and a colleague would be back. Rob could not return due to another job. This all sounded great as well as the price given of $650 for the work and a request from them to me for a positive Yelp review.

Well, guess what? By 4 p.m., they did not return. So I called and spoke to the receptionist guy and got the excuse that he was just with Plumber J to get supplies and he was on his way over. Alright 5 p.m. arrived and still no plumber. I called again. Talked to the same receptionist who contacted Plumber J. Receptionist returned with an update a half hour later stating plumber would be by in the evening and asked if he mentioned that to me. I said Plumber J said he would return today and nothing about the evening. Plus evening to me sounds late and I would think plumbers don't work in the dark for this type of a job. Reception says Oh no, plumbers work into the night. M...okay. Sure. At this point I knew they weren't coming back.

It's Wednesday morning and still no elves in sight to work on my plumbing problem. I called several times this morning and kept getting DK's vm. I left one message along with an email to ask them not to come.

I ended up giving my business to $15 Dollar Rooter Sewer and Drain Service and they were done in a whopping hour! They didn't give any bs stories either.

I'm not sure why DK resorted to giving one excuse after another when all they had to do was say they couldn't fulfill my job today, but how about a few days later. I would have stuck with them or at least, they would have left me a good impression so I can consider them for my home's future plumbing needs. All they needed to do is be upfront about their schedule. Since this was a sewer issue and I have had no use of my shower or toilet for a few days, I needed a reliable plumber.

Too bad I can't rave about the quality of their work. The guys I met seemed pleasant. However, I can only praise DK for giving lots of interesting excuses and empty promises.

After having to find a plumber at the last minute after the one I secured landed in the hospital, I called TONS of plumbers and they wanted an OUTRAGEOUS amount of $$$ to hook up plumbing, install a garbage disposal and to install our new faucet and appliances it came with. I called Rob(the owner) of The Drain King and he quoted me an AWESOME price that wouldn't break the bank... They came out, did the job in a timely manner and cared about their work; making sure everything was good before leaving. I'd DEFINITELY recommend The Drain King to anyone with a plumbing issue/job!

I manage an apartment complex in downtown San Jose.  It's an older building and with that comes the frequent leaks and clogs.  Rob is my go to plumber.  I've been using him for at least 2 years and it's good to know that I can rely on him to solve any plumbing problem.

His prices are good, he cleans up after his work is done, and he is friendly and helpful when dealing with the Tenants.

I own a 6 plex on Whitethorne Drive  in San Jose.  It is an older building and have been having problems with the main .
I found Robert from Drain King on an Internet Search. After reading the reviews I decide to call him.   Of course it was an emergency and on a Saturday morning.  Rob returned my call  withing 30 minutes. I explained the problem and he said he would meet me at the property as soon as he finished his first call of the day.   My wife and I met with him, and showed him the problem.  The first thing he pointed out was that the building was not equipped with a full size main drain cut out, and that to ensure the problem was taken care of he suggested that he install a full size cutout.  He would at that point be able to use his full size machinery to clear the drain out to the street.  Again, this was the weekend, and I was not sure that the job could be accomplished in a short period of time.  Rob assured me that work would start that day, First he cleared the drain using the small existing laundry size cutout.  He then called his help, and they started the process of locating the main drain, digging, installing the new drain.
We agreed on a price.  As a bonus, Rob said he would guarantee the building for one year, for any backups that might occur. The price was fair, based on the fact that it included the regular price to clear a commercial drain and the guarantee. All work was finished byMonday.
As it turned out, the main drain was not located under my grass as we had assumed.
Instead, the drain was located under cement, next to the driveway.  Robs crew had to break out the cement, dig down deeper than usual, install new pipe, and install a cutout access, complete with new concrete box and cover.  He also did the cement work. All of this was at no increase in price.   Its been about a month now, and no problems..  I think we have solved our problem.  I am waiting for a call back for an estimate to install a gas line at another property.
Yes, he says they are full service plumbers too, but i have not had the opportunity to use him for services other than drain clearing.
If your in need of a drain cleared, I highly recommend you calling Rob.  His business is NOT a franchise, it family owned and local.  I will update my review if and when i get to use his business for other plumbing needs

i called at noon on a weekday, got an answering service. robert called me back half an hour later. he told me to call back when i got home from work in a few hours.

called him at 2:45, he was on another job. mine wasn't urgent. he said he'd be out in about an hour. showed up around 5, checked out my drains, then said he had to go pick up his dog from doggie day care, would be back in 40 min or so. came back maybe 6:30, which was fine, i wasn't going anywhere.

they never even needed to come in the house. he snaked both my clean outs for one low price, $50, flat. he said he used to work for $15 sewer and drain for years, then he opened his own company.

he and his assistant were exceedingly polite and friendly. they didn't seem bothered at all by my excitable dogs.

i got referred to him by a friend. she said he did a good job of snaking her home drain, but gave an unrealistically high bid for a bigger job at her work.

my pipes are ancient. do not slope evenly to the street, and have tree roots growing in them to boot. i don't even throw toilet paper in them to avoid the inevitable clogs, which lead to water pouring out the clean out and under my house.

i explained to robert that the company that installed the two clean outs quoted about 30k to re-pipe my whole house (a one br, one bath with only a slab foundation, which would need to be torn up). since the house is a not worth that much, it would make more sense to just tear the whole house down before re-piping. rob scoffed, said he could redo them all (sewer and water) for 4k, which seemed awfully low.

i appreciated the ease of the process and his friendly manner. i would definitely call him again. and i will probably have to, my pipes are shot.

We had Rob come to our house during the 4th of July holiday for a plumbing emergency (main line backed up) and he was prompt, courteous and professional. He unclogged the line quickly and we got back to hosting our party. He guaranteed his work for 6 months and when it clogged again a week later, he came right back out and took care of the problem for us.

He even gave us a few tips on replacing a part in our toilet and also diagnosed a separate problem with our sink draining slowly - neither of these had anything to do with the issue he was there for. On the house.

Definitely knowledgeable, dependable, professional, and a nice guy as well. We would not hesitate to recommend Drain King to any of our friends and family!

I highly recommend this company. Had a plugged up kitchen drain and couldn't tackle this project by myself due to disability. Had a friend try to help, but did not succeed. My call to the company was returned almost immediately and Robbert scheduled next day morning apt. at a time convenient for me. The price was the best of all the other quotes I had been given. Rob sent his plumber Joshua who exceeded all my expectations! Friendly, fast and effective! Within 15 minutes my drain was cleared with a professional 75ft snake machine. And I appreciate the fact that he took care to put covers on his shoes and work carefully around the cabinet door that was in his way. What a rare pleasant experience! Thank you, guys! I called them on a Sunday to set up a Monday AM service call. On Mon. they called to say
they were on their way. In a few minutes voila. My Kitchen drain was completely stopped up
but within 15 minutes the plug was snaked out and water was flowing smoothly.

Highly recommend these guys, fast, efficient, and reasonable. Nice people too.

I would say he does better work than other plumbers I encountered before. However I found his ethics are questionable.

He offered to replace the drainage of both bathrooms for I would say a reasonable price, and he finished the job efficiently. I would give him 5 star for that. But another contractor that is working on the bathroom remodelling told me actually one of the bathroom's drainage system is not replaced at all. So he only performed half of the work he promised!

I will use other plumbers in the future. Skill is not the only criteria I seek.

Last week we had a problem with our kitchen sink not draining properly. We were under the impression that it was a clogged drain. After reading many reviews I decided to give Drain King a call . Within minutes, I had a response, and someone was here to service the issue in under an hour. Rob was our technician. Very clean , courteous, and a nice assistant with him to help . He did not try to upsell me in any way , it ended up being the garbage disposal. From original call to finish it was two hours ! Done ! Very good pricing too. I will definitely recommend And use them again if needed ! Thank you Rob. So glad we have found someone to rely on again , since our old plumber moved out of state .

Rob is an outstanding technician and a truly honest man. After having a larger, more commercial company come out to inspect our sewer problem and provide an estimate, he came out and fixed the problem with no problems at all.

The other company came out first to cable the main line and provide a camera inspection of the sewer line that cost $450 because of labor and special equipment.  The guy then said that he couldn't clear the line and that it would cost over $7,000 for a main line sewer replacement of 55' foot w/property line clean out. After learning about this, I immediately started doing additional research and calling other companies.

Being that it was Sunday, it was a little difficult to find someone that could come out, but I found The Drain King on Yelp and Rob graciously came out on his Sunday afternoon to conduct an inspection and provide another estimate. After explaining the situation, he simply snaked the line and fixed the problem within minutes. To be honest, he explained that the line would still need a proper cleaning for a more long term solution, but that it wasn't a huge problem (like the other company tried to tell us) and that he could come out later in the week to do this.

I am definitely a satisfied customer and I strongly recommend The Drain King for any plumbing or rooter needs. Rob provided me with great rates and nothing but honesty throughout the whole ordeal!

Reception says Oh no, plumbers work into the night. M...okay. Sure. At this point I knew they weren't coming back.

It's Wednesday morning and still no elves in sight to work on my plumbing problem. I called several times this morning and kept getting DK's vm. I left one message along with an email to ask them not to come.

I ended up giving my business to $15 Dollar Rooter Sewer and Drain Service and they were done in a whopping hour! They didn't give any bs stories either.

I'm not sure why DK resorted to giving one excuse after another when all they had to do was say they couldn't fulfill my job today, but how about a few days later. I would have stuck with them or at least, they would have left me a good impression so I can consider them for my home's future plumbing needs. All they needed to do is be upfront about their schedule. Since this was a sewer issue and I have had no use of my shower or toilet for a few days, I needed a reliable plumber.

Too bad I can't rave about the quality of their work. The guys I met seemed pleasant. However, I can only praise DK for giving lots of interesting excuses and empty promises.

Awesome!Awesome!Awesome! I was referred to Rob by a good friend. My wife and I had interviewed and talked to many plumbers and we felt Rob was the most honest and fairest.

The project we had took two days. Rob and his crew were very polite and worked hard to insured that every little detail was done right.

My wife is very happy when everything was done. Rob and his crew cleaned up and made sure everything was done right and did a final inspection. He even called after a few days to make sure everything is working well.

If you are looking for a great plumber that is honest, fair, and experience; then you should call The Drain King aka Rob!

Saturday, January 2 and it's my last day of visiting my mother up here in San Jose. I find that her washing machine's drainage line is plugged and every time she does laundry, it soaks the whole corner of her garage floor. I call Drain King with dim hopes and visions of my return trip back to SoCal being delayed. I leave a message and they call back shortly after and let me know they will be here within an hour. An hour later and not only have they arrived, but they are done and the line is clear! Really nice guys. Totally friendly and professional and they did it for about half the cost of other people (rip-off artists) who have come out over the years. Thanks to Drain King, I still get to leave town before the rain comes and I have the satisfaction of knowing my mother's washing machine is no longer flooding the garage. Highest recommendation.

I was impressed. Rob and his co-worker snaked my drain (which included ingrowing roots) incredibly quickly and for half the price of any other service I saw online. $50 flat fee (when most charged $90-$140). They were friendly and polite, and best of all guaranteed their work for 30 days. (If it gets clogged again in that time they return for free)  My call wasn't urgent (preventative maintenance) but they still set up a time within a few hours of my call. I'm happy to recommend them.

I highly recommend this company.  Had a plugged up kitchen drain and couldn't tackle this project by myself due to disability.  Had a friend try to help, but did not succeed.  My call to the company was returned almost immediately and Robbert scheduled next day morning apt. at a time convenient for me.  The price was the best of all the other quotes I had been given.  Rob sent his plumber Joshua who exceeded all my expectations!  Friendly, fast and effective!  Within 15 minutes my drain was cleared with a professional 75ft snake machine.  And I appreciate the fact that he took care to put covers on his shoes and work carefully around the cabinet door that was in his way.  What a rare pleasant experience!  Thank you, guys!  I am a very happy customer and will use this company for my future plumbing needs!

I never write reviews, but had to write one this time. We are a large apartment complex and we typically are able to resolve 99.9 percent of any maintenance issues but this time needed help with a backed up sewer line. Rob showed up within half an hour and was done within the hour.  They had an extremely reasonable rate. The owner of our complex, is weary of many companies but was very pleased with this company. We definitely will be using them, if any issues come up that require outside help. Thank You Rob!

After seeing a living social deal, I sent them an email. Rob called me back within a half hour and I was pretty impressed, given it was Sunday and gave me what I thought was a good quote ($50) and told me he'd be at my house at 8:30 the next morning (Monday) At 9:30 Monday I called their office. At 10:30 he showed up, but I had had to take my daughter to urgent care. I called him at 6pm and he said he'd be at my house at 8:30 Tuesday. 11am Tuesday and I call their office to find out what's going on. The receptionist was completely rude. Couldn't understand what I wanted. When I told her if he couldn't be at my house by noon (3.5 hours after he said he'd be there) I was calling another plumber and she hung up on me. Would not recommend even trying them. They may be cheap but can't be bothered to be on time, be polite or even call to let you know what's going on.

I think Rob & Nick are the best! They helped me out today... yet again! My house is really old with really old pipes and they have come out several times to do clean outs on our lines. Rob has been able to schedule me for the next day from when I called in to request service and does a great job. Both Rob & Nick are polite, very personable and work very hard. They inform and show you what they are doing and certainly have the experience to answer any questions you may have. All done quickly, efficiently and you can't beat the price! I highly recommend the Drain King!

Terrible business and completely lacking customer care. They initially said their price for a first time visit would be $99 and anything after is $150.

The employee confirmed they would arrive between that night between 8:30-9:00 pm after their Bible study. I received no call or text sent as 8:30 passed - I had to text and ask if they were still coming, to which they replied they couldn't come out because they were still at Bible study and asked if they could come out the next morning. They showed up the next morning and left within 5 minutes and charged us $150 dollars and didn't clear the drain.

If you know anything about drains, you don't finish a job within 5 minutes if you're doing the job correctly. When I sent a text to the same guy that came out to my home, to tell him the drain is not cleared, he became defensive and said he rarely gets call backs for drain issues. Oh, really? I've never met a plumber that fixes a shower drain within 5 minutes without testing if the water clears, then charges $150 for a dishonest job and tells their customers to go with a different company that will charge us more than that.

Whomever works at this company doesn't know anything about customer care or being honest. Perhaps this guy needs more Bible study because anyone would rather pay more for a job to be done properly than deal with immature, unprofessional liars.

I own a 6 plex on Whitethorne Drive in San Jose. It is an older building and have been having problems with the main .
I found Robert from Drain King on an Internet Search. After reading the reviews I decide to call him. Of course it was an emergency and on a Saturday morning. Rob returned my call withing 30 minutes. I explained the problem and he said he would meet me at the property as soon as he finished his first call of the day. My wife and I met with him, and showed him the problem. The first thing he pointed out was that the building was not equipped with a full size main drain cut out, and that to ensure the problem was taken care of he suggested that he install a full size cutout. He would at that point be able to use his full size machinery to clear the drain out to the street. Again, this was the weekend, and I was not sure that the job could be accomplished in a short period of time. Rob assured me that work would start that day, First he cleared the drain using the small existing laundry size cutout. He then called his help, and they started the process of locating the main drain, digging, installing the new drain.
We agreed on a price. As a bonus, Rob said he would guarantee the building for one year, for any backups that might occur. The price was fair, based on the fact that it included the regular price to clear a commercial drain and the guarantee. All work was finished byMonday.
As it turned out, the main drain was not located under my grass as we had assumed.
Instead, the drain was located under cement, next to the driveway. Robs crew had to break out the cement, dig down deeper than usual, install new pipe, and install a cutout access, complete with new concrete box and cover. He also did the cement work. All of this was at no increase in price. Its been about a month now, and no problems.. I think we have solved our problem. I am waiting for a call back for an estimate to install a gas line at another property.
Yes, he says they are full service plumbers too, but i have not had the opportunity to use him for services other than drain clearing.
If your in need of a drain cleared, I highly recommend you calling Rob. His business is NOT a franchise, it family owned and local. I will update my review if and when i get to use his business for other plumbing needs

This is the second time I have used DK for a plugged kitchen drain in that past couple of years and was extremely happy with their service. I called Rob around 10 in the morning and he indicated he would be able to show up shortly after noon that day.  In addition, he quoted me a flat rate price that was around 30% cheaper than any other estimate.  He showed up on time with several of his crew and proceed to diagnose and correct the problem within a half hour. He paid particular attention to making sure that his crew cleaned up after they were finished.  I would highly recommend Rob and Drain King for your plumbing needs.

I called him Sunday afternoon and he was able to come on Monday morning about 9:30.  Rob spent time and fixed our drain problem.  He also spent time explaining what's going on and what he was doing.  He was fast worker and seems honest and reliable.  His price was great too.  Highly recommended!

Toilet was leaking from the base due to a broken flange.  Drain King was the first to respond and was able to schedule consultation immediately.  Flange was old and cracked in certain areas so needed to be replaced.  It had to be cut away and total process took several hours.  Was very happy with the work and explanations of what needed to be done in advance of each step.  Would fully recommend Drain King for any type of plumbing repair.

The Drain King is very fast, very reliable, and very reasonable with rates.

The owner has worked many years with another local plumbing company that I had used several times. I gave him a try this year on my drain clean out and he charges only $50, less than half of the other company.

A few months later, I had a grey water pipe fail between my kitchen sink and main sewer line under the house. Robert and his assistant came right over and diagnosed the problem very quickly. He patiently explained the problem and consequences. He also went over the correct way to repair the damage and prevent it in the future. His quote was very reasonable and he was able to start on it immediately.

Robert and Nick were extremely professional, quick, and clean. They laid down paper runners and kept the inside of my house clean. They repaired the pipe, cleaned up the mess underneath the house and left the entire site cleaner than they arrived.

In summary, The Drain King is quick to respond, very professional in his service, and has extremely competitive rates. I highly recommend them.

Drain King cleaned the sewer pipes blocked by roots. They were honest and saved me a large amount of money another company (Discount Plumbers) asked to do the same job. I am so glad I contacted them. Second opinions rock! use Drain King and you will be happy with their job.

Rob came out early on a holiday weekend to fix my problem. What I had spent 2.5 hours trying to fix yesterday, he fixed in less than 5 minutes. As soon as he looked at my shower, he immediately knew what the problem was and went right to work. When I told him how stupid I felt after that, he assured me that it was his many years of experience that gave him the upper hand.

I really want to give him 5 stars for being the King, but he was an hour late and I came home on my lunch break to meet with him so it really sucked for me (especially since my lunch is only 30 minutes so I was late getting back to work). I went into work early (4:15am) so I could take my lunch at 8 to meet him at my house so I lost out on two hours sleep to make sure I was here on time. He did text me 30 minutes after his scheduled time to tell me that he was running behinds but he was on his way. If it wasn't for the fact that I was late to work, I would not have cared about him being an hour late because he was still at my house by 9am on a holiday.

I will absolutely give Rob a call for any plumbing needs that come up in the future!

Rob came out tonight (Sunday) when we had 2 showers with sewage backing up, & 2 toilets that were plugged & were not able to be unplugged. Super nice, very personable. Took the time to explain in great detail what the problem was, and a less expensive option than repiping. Would not leave until he cleaned up the mess! How often does that happen??? Overall, a great experience!

MORE THAN JUST DRAIN CLEANING, they do plumbing jobs as well.  Great service, good rates. I and my neighbors have used them on multiple occasions with success!   For drain cleaning, their rates are terrific.  Based on how much of an emergency it is, they will come to you quickly.  They clean up after themselves and make sure you are happy.  For plumbing jobs, they give you an estimate and stick to the very fair price.  HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!

If you're looking for an affordable plumber who can make things work according to your picky plans...Rob's the guy.  My husband and I are building a brand new master bath and we had some logistical issues on how to connect the new plumbing to existing water/sewer lines.  We met with at least 8 other companies to get bids and ideas on what to do (Dempster, EJ plumbing, Water Quality, Quality Plus, AAA etc.) The prices ranged from $3k (AAA) to $22k (EJ) .  **sidenote: seriously, $22k from EJ Plumbing!!! How can they justify so much?!

In the end we went with Rob and Drain King because he seemed to know what he was talking about the most and honestly, I just got a very vibe from him than the other people that came by.  His price was really close to the cheapest and his team got the job done in 2 weeks. Cut the concrete slab to add new piping, installed new shower, vanity, toilet and tub.  Nick and the other guys were there almost always on time.  

The reason I had to -1 star: not licensed, Rob is never on time, they left a pile of wood in front of my house, the 2 vanity sink plumbing were too close together so my husband had to redo some of it, and the rainfall shower piping was crooked.

Nothing to be too upset over so it's no big deal.  You get what you pay for and The Drain King was a great deal.  I'd definitely recommend them.

I'm 100% sure Rob and Nick will know who this is when they read my review :)

Had drains backing up and was out of town. Selected Drain King to call based upon Yelp reviews. They quoted a price over the phone of $150 to come out and clean out our drains.

Got a call when the job was done -- they had charged over $300, without bothering to get prior authorization for the increase. Worse, they had to come back out the next day as the drain that was backing up in the first place backed up again. When I finally got back into town and could check out their work, the good news was the drain was flowing. The bad news: it was stinky - after looking around, I learned that a floor drain cleanup had been opened and the interior plug that seals in those nasty sewer gasses had been discarded - and the drain cover was not even screwed in - with several screws lost. Called the Drain King day after day. He said they'd come by later that day then tomorrow then finally he said we didn't touch that drain. Well, I know it was there before they came, and gone when they left, so you decide.

As a result, I can't recommend these folks. Not sure they know what they are doing and don't think they can take responsibility for their own mistakes.

Honest, quick, and affordable. Ken was obviously a good guy, and was super reasonable and thorough. He actually did more than just the job at hand, and crawled all under my house to make sure there was no other leakage issues. Most importantly, he seems to be an honest person who won't try to unnecessarily up sell or overcharge people who really don't know about plumbing; which is basically most everyone.

I had a  root issue out to the sewer line basically clogging my whole house, and had initially booked with someone I found on google, but after checking yelp, decided to give The Drain King a shot. So glad I did. I ended up with a new clean-out, and Ken  ran the camera down there 3 or 4 times for me so I could see exactly what he was talking about in between running the snake with the blades, and additionally ran different size cutters to make sure the root issues wouldn't cause me trouble for a while (plus gave me a 1 year warranty to come back if I have further issues).

I highly recommend using the drain king if you want someone who you can trust to not overcharge you, and to do a good job. I'll definitely be using The Drain King again, and will recommend them to anyone who asks.

I heard about The Drain King from a co-worker. Having respect for this person's thoughts I called  Rob. He gave me a great price on a major drain clog that I was not able to rectify on my own. His man  was there on site within the specified time, the gentleman who came was very nice, knowledgeable and friendly!
The area was cleaned after the work had been completed and they removed the sewage in plastic bags that they took with them. I was extremely happy with Rob & his Team @ The Drain King and will definitely use his services again!!!
