Called Bay Area Plumbing this afternoon to sort out a clogged kitchen sink. Boris arrived 15 minutes after I arrived home, right on time.
Boris was great, working the whole time while fielding my many questions. He worked for over an hour with a drain snake attempting to dislodge the clog, making multiple attempts. Unfortunately, the clog was further down the pipes than anticipated.
He explained the issue to me and acknowledged the limitation of his equipment (their company's larger snake was out for repairs) and didn't even charge me for the work he had completed.
It was very refreshing to see such honesty from a plumbing company especially after seeing some reviews of other companies here on Yelp.

After calling several plumbers, and doing my research on the issue and getting several quotes, I contacted Boris from Bay Area Plumbing. Not only was he extremely professional, he was quick to diagnose the real issue, and gave me the best quote. He really blows the competition out of the water.
Boris had done work for us before and always is the consummate plumber. He is always prompt and very astute at diagnosing problems. He installed a new kitchen sink faucet. It was a space challenge under the sink due to the sink installation. So, it wasn't easy physically. I appreciated he completed the job so quickly even with the MacGyver efforts. Never complains and is very professional, strong work ethnic and honest. I think he is so good that I will use him for more work that isn't an emergency. Boris gives plumbers a good name!
Boris came on short notice to my house on a Sunday to check out a leaky drain pipe, a job for which another plumber had given me an astronomical bid. Boris suggested a more comprehensive solution than simply replacing the pipe, which was the other guy's idea, his bid was almost 200 dollars less, and he was able to do the job immediately. He was courteous and professional, did very neat work, and the new drain pipe works perfectly. Highly recommended!

I had a leak in the drain underneath my bathroom sink. Assumed this would be an easy fix so I initially hired a TaskRabbit. This guy took 3 hours, two trips to the hardware store, and charged about $250 and make the leak worse. Then got a friend's handy man to try to fix. He came by twice and charged $100. The damn thing was still leaking. Found Boris through Yelp. He came the next morning and fixed it in about 30 minutes. No leaking. Would definitely hire him again.
Boris came out for an emergency leak situation and quickly identified the problem. Unfortunately he couldn't fix the source of the leak due to it being in another unit, but I definitely appreciated the quick response and tips for dealing with the insurance to cover the damage!
We were rushed to find someone to fix our backed up drain in our garage before the rain starts. We had a giant puddle in the garage that we were able to plunge but the water still didn't seem to be draining. I called Boris who came same day and was super helpful. His customer service was outstanding and we'll be sure to call him for all our future plumbing needs!
Boris installed a new sink after an old one was damaged. He helped me choose a new sink over email and came on time to install it. He noticed it was cracked so saved me the trouble and expense of having to install and remove it later. When I finally had a good sink to install, he came back and did a great job. His communication is excellent and he is totally dependable. He also fixed a pop up drink plug that was likely going to have to be replaced. Bravo Boris!

Boris responded to my Yelp inquiry right away. He was responsive and answered all of my questions before I decided to work with his company. He scheduled my water heater replacement the following day and arrived on time. He completed my project in the time window that he estimated. His work was high quality and he left the work area clean.
He was slightly more expensive than a couple of the other quotes that I received, but his work was high quality and prompt. I would hire him again.
Boris answered his phone , gave a reasonable time estimate for an hour or so later the same day but as able to arrive earlier . He answered my questions about replacing a part that was leaking in my garage and a clogged bathroom sink with non traditional pipes under the sink as I wish to learn how to do these things myself in the future. He was quick and efficient, solved the problems, pretty much a perfect experience.
Slow drip under the sink of a brand new bathroom. Sigh. Boris arrived promptly, figured out what had been installed wrong, fixed it and charged me next to nothing. He's the best plumber we've ever working with. Good ole fashioned work ethic and skill.

Our kitchen sink disposal was jamming and needed to be replaced. Boris came over to fix it and was very upfront about the problem and provided a quote that was significantly less than competitors. He had the disposal replaced in about 15 minutes and accepted payment over venmo. Excellent and speedy service!

I called Boris at 9:30pm, he was here by 10pm, and finished the job before 11pm. This guy knows exactly what he's doing and does not mess around. Not very talkative, but he's very informative when he does speak. I appreciated his style.
I'm a renter of a bottom unit apartment that was dealing with a main sewer line issue affecting my toilet and a drain in my entrance hallway that was overflowing. He identified the source of the issue within minutes and had it cleared in less than 20 before starting on the main sewer line in the house. After he was done, he hosed the floor and house down to clean it up and packed his stuff quickly.
I highly recommend him.

Professional, courteous, got the job done. I'm lucky to have found him. My home's main waste line backed up and unpleasant things were backing up and overflowing a toilet. I phoned him at 9:30pm, he was at my home 15 minutes later. Within an hour he had not only cleared the blockage, but had also replaced a p-trap that broke. I couldn't ask for anything better.
Boris rocks! I've used him multiple times, & he's always super responsive & reliable. Even when his scheduler said he wasn't available until tomorrow, he called me back in 5 minutes & was here in another 10 to fix an emergency leak. (The only reason I wouldn't give him a 5-star reco would to keep him a secret, because if you all call him, he'll become so popular he's not as available when I need him, but that would be mean....)
I called Bay Area Plumbing on a Saturday morning at 9AM, for a broken bathroom faucet drain. I was desperate because we had a party planned at 6PM the same day.
Bay Area Plumbing sent a repairman at 11AM, and the bathroom drain was working perfectly by noon. He even had all the parts and recommended replacing the plastic drain that came with the Moen faucet, with a much more durable metal pipe. On top of all that, parts and all was under $200, which is much less that other plumbers I have called for simpler tasks.
I've used BAP several times. (I used to flush coffee grounds down the drain... doh) Boris is on time or early. He is a great plumber. Can't recommend him enough.

Our tank replacement was not a straight forward job, some wires and blockade had to be removed and put back. Boris managed it all for a reasonable price! Highly recommending his services.

It all turned out great!
Boris came by promptly, and fixed a plumbing problem that was far above my ability to DIY.
He provided fair estimates, came by promptly, and finished promptly.
And he did professional work, and followed through on the estimate that he provided!
I called him a week later to install a shower door. This required accurate measurement & cutting of some metal pieces, and precise fitting. The glass doors are heavy as well. He carefully assembled and installed sliding glass doors without any problems, and the results are great. I am glad to know the quality of his work, and am confident that I can rely on him for any future plumbing task.
We called because our shower was draining slow and Boris came out the same day on a weekend. No-nonsense and competent. He cleared the clog and was gone in under an hour. Rate was very reasonable and he took payment through Venmo. Highly recommended
The Yelp hours state that they close at 11 pm daily. We had an emergency and called last night at 8 pm to which no one answered the call. Wasted our time.
Ok so Boris showed up wearing overalls, but after he left I feel like he should have showed up wearing a FREAKING CAPE because he's SUPER HUMAN.
Seriously, I called rather frantic needing a garbage disposal/kitchen sink fixed ASAP and he said 15-20 maybe 30 minutes. 8 minutes later his truck is in front of my house. 5 minutes after that he's got all the materials he needs to replace the garbage disposal and clear the drain laid out in the cleanest way possible. 16 minutes after that he's DONE.

We've worked with Boris a few times now and our experience has always been great. One of the projects was to replace a cracked sink. We procrastinated doing this for a long time, dreading how painful the process would be, but his installation was completely seamless. He just quietly replaced the unit and everything including the surrounding walls looked exactly as it did before the cracks first appeared. Recently, we had a clogged pipe in the kitchen and had the same pleasant and efficient experience with Boris. Last week, we also had a leak in our bathroom and we couldn't identify the source. He came out on a Sunday and didn't leave until he eliminated possible culprits (e.g. our toilet) and identified the exact direction from which the water was coming.
Had 4 different people came to look at a leak - took 4 months and nothing got solved... then came Boris. He fixed it in half a day , half the cost. BOOK HIM

Thanks Yelpers for helping me find Boris K. and Bay Area Plumbing. Made appointment 2 days ago and without prodding or any reminders, he showed up 20 min early (which was great). He installed a new fill valve and flapper for the toilet (I used his Kohler parts, not a generic version - at cost with no big mark ups) and fixed a frozen brass shower diverter by deconstructing it with finesse, bringing it back to perfect useful life with filing and greasing and no brut force -- and definitely no new parts needed. For comparison, my previous go to plumber for the past 15 years, a local big plumbing co., had looked at this job and said they couldn't use the Kohler fill valve I bought to use and needed to order a new part for the shower diverter -- all at an outrageous estimate near $500 (no joke). Bay Area Plumbing is my new plumber - extremely professional, very clean, and FAIR. Less than an hour and $185. Great experience! Beyond satisfied and on speed dial for any future plumbing needs!
I woke up to my floor flooded with water. Boris and Bay Area Plumbing quickly responded to my call for service. Boris was able to fit me into my challenging schedule. He fixed the problem, explained what had happened, and was very efficient. Boris and Bay Area Plumbing is the plumber I will call from now on!

Boris arrived on time, did a minor repair on a faucet problem that wasn't mentioned in my call for service, did a fast and expert job on the faucet I called about, and took payment on my CC for the quoted amount. No extra charge for the other faucet--mind you, it was a really minor problem, but still, he's a standout among plumbers.
Came on the predicted window of time with mask and respecting distances.
Very efficient, personable, and reasonable for a same day emergency service.
Carries good faucet supply and offers priceless advice.
I highly recommend Boris with the Bay Area Plumbing.

Extremely satisfied with the level of service provided. Called on a Friday night with a badly clogged main sewer line (could not drain water anywhere in the house). Boris responded right away and offered to come later that night. He came at the agreed upon time, quickly sized up the situation and proceeded to expertly resolve the problem. Cost of repair was very reasonable as well. Can't recommend enough.

We had a problem with both a water heater and leaking hot water faucet in our bathroom. Boris was able to get to us at 7:30 in the evening and had both fixed within the half hour, charging for only one service call. Another plumber had been out previously and did not take the time to resolve either issue. I will not be using anyone else in the future.
Had an emergency this past sat night that our faucet broke and water kept running. Called and Boris arrived within 30 minutes and turned off our faucet from the inside. He was helpful and friendly and efficient. He came out again on Monday with parts to fix the faucet. Highly recommended!

Called on a Friday at 1pm about a clogged and backing up shower drain, and was able to schedule a drop-in between 4 & 5pm. I was pleasantly surprised to see them arrive early at 3:40pm. He was quick, thorough, and clean up after himself! It was much appreciated as I know Fridays can be busy!
Boris came within 20 minutes to fix a clogged sewer line. He was honest and reasonably priced. I would give my highest recommendation.

Excellent plumbing company. Professional and very knowledgeable. I have used them many times for things from unclogging drains and replacing faucets, to putting in new water heaters and copper pipes. Boris is the principal plumber and he really knows his stuff. Prices are also very good.
I needed a plumber to install an under the sink filter and faucet. I created a Yelp request using the app and Bay area plumbing replied quickly. I was told it's best to stick with the same brand as the faucet and hot water tank. Once I had the parts they came the same day to install it. They did a great job and was quick under an hour. They were reasonable, responsive, and knowledgeable. I'm very happy with the results.
I had a great experience with Bay Area Plumbing. Not only did they take my call at 6:30pm, but Boris came by shortly thereafter and completely fixed the issue right then and there. I highly recommend them!
Excellent service Boris was able to fix the problem with one turn of the wrench. The disappointing thing is that he charged $150 just for the service appointment which was no an emergency and I knew what the problem was and told him what most likely needed to be done. I'm glad he took the 5 minutes to really check my homework, but for no more trouble than it was I feel $75 would have been a much better charge for no more time and work that was involved. I would still recommend Boris but next time I will definitely ask the cost of the service call.

We had to attach an valve to our gas line to hook up our dryer. Boris was straight to the point and offer a very clear and easy quote when I called. Other plumbers wanted to do a free estimate, making things more complex. I texted him a photo and he responded right away, came the very next day and pricing was good compared to other plumbers I called. He seems no nonsense, trustworthy and straight to the point. I will definitely use him again but hope we won't need to!

Amazingly fast response. Boris arrived within 10 minutes of calling. And within 30 minutes he cleared our clogged garden drain which had been overflowing with rain into our garage. All on New Years Eve afternoon. Highly recommended.

We had to replace the fill valve in our Toto toilet but it was bit tricky because our contractor did not leave enough space between the wall and the toilet. I thought we had to get a new toilet installed but Boris told me over the phone that he can replace the fill valve if I were willing to replace a few minor parts (like screws and bolts, I think) which he had to special order. Boris arrived on time, finished the job as promised, and it cost me a fraction of having to replace the entire toilet. Boris is our go-to plumber from now on.

Fantastic service - this is the only plumbing company I'll be calling in the future! Boris arrived right on time, checked out the leaky plumbing below my kitchen sink, went back to his van to get his tools, and then came back and repaired it within about 10 minutes. He was professional, nice, and most important: repaired the leak. I couldn't recommend a plumber more highly.
Boris was great. I flushed a rock down my toilet while cleaning my fish tank, and I sent out a bunch of requests for quotes at 8 PM on a Sunday night. Boris was the only person who called me directly and offered to come by that night to fix the toilet. He was fair and highly professional - he was able to fix the toilet in an hour and was on his way. I'll definitely go back to Boris and Bay Area Plumbing again.
Great for emergencies. I needed to fix a leaking shower faucet in a very short amount of time and Boris was able to make it out on a day or two notice. Not the cheapest, but honest, quality work, and I'd call him again.

Boris is the best. I had other plumbers come by to give me estimates and everyone was over charging me. One even told me the problem may be my mixer valve and will need to turn off the water and drain the pipe. The job could take 5-6 hours costing over 1k. Boris fixed the problem in 15 minutes.
Boris has helped us with all of our plumbing needs for the past 12 years. He's replaced pipes, added new pipes (in our bathroom and kitchen). He has never been late and usually gets there a little early. He does great work! We recommend him to all of our friends.

I called emergency service when the hot water heater in my unit was discovered to have been leaking, they immediately sent a couple of very able plumbers to remove and replace my faulty hot water heater. The whole time since calling only took 3.5 hours. Highly recommend.
Wasted time. Set up an appointment, said he would be there between 9-11...never showed, never called! Tried to hire local plumber based on yelp reviews. Obviously Boris has 6 friends with a Yelp account.
Boris came earlier than expected. Fixed our clogged shower drain. We had a baseball-sized cat hair clump come out of our shower drain! I had a lot of questions about the plumbing in our 100+ year old house. He answered all of them. Great service! Highly recommend!

We had called three plumbers-- all of whom were enthusiastic on the phone and then zero follow through. We were able to talk to Boris directly on the phone after 8pm. He showed up on a Saturday and within 1 hour and 45, we had a new toilet installed (including the time it took him to go pick it up!). Very professional and efficient.
Our hot water heater stopped working again after they replaced the gas control value 5 months ago. Upon calling them, they wouldn't stand by their work at all. No warranty unless I installed something which is leaking was my favorite quote. That makes me feel better. I wont' be using their service again as they clearly don't stand by their work.
Boris is excellent! He resolved a list of small problems that have been worrying me for months. And he came early. One noise that I thought could be a big problem, he solved is seconds. Love their fast response time. Came home from vacation with the intention of putting a load in the washer and taking a nap after a 14 hour flight. Instead my washer flooded half of my apartment. They were at my place 10 mins after I called!!!!
they are very honest and give excellent service. caroline on the phone was very nice, and gave me a deal. boris did an excellent job in a short amount of time. they do not overcharge for their services. other companies do. thank you caroline and boris. highly recommended!
Have had Boris come over twice now and he has always been on-time, professional, and great to work with. Once he came to fix a water heater that stopped working and he diagnosed the problem and replaced the broken part quickly. The second job was a more complicated replacement of a valve for the water main, Boris fixed the immediate problem at night on short notice, and then scheduled a follow-up after he had the right parts. He re-cut the pipe and replaced the valve seamlessly, and then replaced an outdoor faucet that was dripping since he was on-site too. Invoiced me exactly what he quoted, I'd recommend Bay Area Plumbing and will use them again in the future!

Boris and Bay Area Plumbing are really great to work with. He was communicative and showed up on time. I had him out to install a whole house water filter and he really went above and beyond to make sure everything was working correctly. We've used Boris several times and each time he has been professional, reasonable, efficient and extremely honest. I highly recommend him. I also really like his admin, Caroline, who sometimes answers the phone for him and makes appointments.
Service was friendly and incredibly responsive. We had a broken water heater, and no hot water. Boris came over on a Saturday, figured out the problem, and ordered the part that needed to be replaced, since it wasn't in stock. He kept in contact, made sure we knew how long it would take, and it was fixed as soon as that part was available - he called, picked it up, and brought it over to finish the repair.

Boris helped us install a stove on very short notice, which deserves praise as the job was done fast and properly. He didn't have the warmest demeanor but that's not what we needed, though it could've made the experience more pleasant.
I had a leaking faucet and requested a quote. Boris called me within 2 minutes, asked me one question, told me where to look and what to tighten and the problem was solved. Total time: 5 minute. Total cost: $0. Clearly, this is a guy who cares about building a good reputation and I would definitely trust him to do the work if I ever do have a plumbing problem that requires a professional.
While out if town, my neighbors noticed a small stream of water coming out of my garage. They shot off my water. I was back yesterday & noticed this morning another neighbor was waiting for Bay Area Plumbing to fix an issue. Boris arrived on time, friendly, professional, fixed my neighbor's issue. Boris came on very short notice after one of the braided hoses burst on my sink. He explained to me how to turn off the water from the hose to avoid any damage to my property before he got there. Replaced the hose in minutes and was very fair. Very thorough and knowledgeable. A+++, highly recommended!

I kid you not, Boris from Bay Area Plumbing literally saved us over $1,000!
We had another plumber come earlier in the day to look at slowly leaking shower handle. There was a flange covering the plastic valve that needed to be changed, but he couldn't get it off. He claimed he would need to cut off a portion of our shower tile wall to access and replace the whole pipe. A service for which he wanted to charge us $1,300.
I was very skeptical, so I found Boris on Yelp, noticing he had really quick reply times for quotes, explain the situation, and an hour later that evening Boris was over at our place examining the problem. 5 minutes later, he was able to undo the flange, just with a simple tool, no saws, no breaking our wall apart, and just over $200 parts and labor. Would have been even cheaper if the other dumbass plumber didn't saw off a shower handle!
For the record the other Plumber was another five star plumber on Yelp. Moral of the story, not all five star plumbers are created equal. Go with Boris!
Boris was very prompt on replying to my request at 9:30pm and continued with the conversation the next morning. Scheduled to come out to remove clog behind the washing machine at noon but came out at 9:30am because he had an opening. So quick! Would use him again.
The other plumber I called the day before still hasn't replied back after I emailed his request for a video of the problem.
They have great service and are incredibly friendly. I hope to not need a plumber often, but whenever I need one again, I will be sure to call them.
Boris came earlier than expected, promptly took care of two urgent situations for us and charged very fair prices. He responded promptly to our requests. It's nice to be able to deal directly with the business owner. I enthusiastically recommend his services.

All I can say is WOW! We had a flood because our dishwasher was draining into the kitchen line and unbeknownst to us the p-trap had rusted out. We discovered the problem at 9PM when water was leaking into the room below. I called Boris and he was there by 9:30 and done in 20 minutes. I unfortunately had to call Boris twice in one month for separate issues.
The first time my pilot light went out for my water heater at around 7:30PM on a Saturday night. I needed the hot water back ASAP because I had guests staying over. I called a few places, nobody answered (including the ones claiming to be open '24-hour').
I called Boris and he came and fixed my water heater -- all within 1 hour. It was possibly the most seamless process ever.
The second time I had a kitchen sink clog, which he also handled in a super professional and speedy manner. I left a voice mail to schedule him coming out and got a call back within 10 minutes.
He's super helpful, works quickly, and charges a fair price. Highly recommended!

Boris is the best. Used him the first time when our hot water heater went out on a Sunday. He came right over, did the job and was reasonably priced. My prior plumber took weekends off. Today he snaked a drain in our master bathroom. If he doesn't answer the phone himself, he calls back promptly and schedules an appointment right away. I recommend him without any reservation.
My experience with Boris (and Jesse) was exactly as other reviewers: he answered his own phone, showed up on time, was efficient in identifying and fixing my leaky pipe. There were multiple holes in the drywall that needed to be made - FYI he doesn't patch those up, which he let me know beforehand and I had expected, and he left things in a neat state. I also found it a positive that he lets you know his hourly rate when you book (I've been burned before by free estimates).

The most incredible service you can imagine!!!! Fast, efficient, friendly, competent, cost-effective ... you name it.
I called Boris and told him about the problem our water heater was having. He called the supplier for parts, told them our serial number, got the parts ordered, and came by and fixed the water heater, and our water heater is like new again. The only thing I had to do was take a photo of the serial number and Boris took care of everything else. I didn't even have to pay for parts because they were under warranty.

We had a plugged toilet which I could not get to drain on my own, so called Bay Area Plumbing and spoke to Boris. We had used him in the past for another plumbing issue and liked the service and found his work good and pricing fair.
Boris showed up slightly earlier than his estimated arrival time which was good. With one swirl of the mini snake down the toilet he freed up the drain and we were in business. All was good until came payment time, which I was really surprised at. He charged us $150 for about 3 minutes of work and was on his way. I do understand overhead costs, his time etc., but being a repeat customer I was quite surprised it wasn't in the $75-$100 range. Sorry but I felt taken advantage of and ripped off.

Super efficient, very reasonable price, we always call him for any issues. Our whole condo uses him now. Protip: Best communication is via Yelp. Messaged him on Yelp and he responded instantly. On another occasion I didn't get an immediate response to a phone message. In that case it wasn't an emergency so I didn't followup right away either, so wouldn't draw a conclusion from that. But then when I messaged via Yelp it was amazingly fast and he came the same morning, so that's what I do from now on.

I had a problem with the kitchen drain... I did try snaking it, but it failed to clear the drain. It was time to bring in the pro. It is New Years Day at 8PM so I checked Yelp and sent a message to Bay Area Plumbing, I received a response in about 20 minutes, really surprised by this. It was not an emergency, but he had availability at 9AM on the 2nd.
Boris arrived early and I really appreciated it. He came in and accessed the situation. Boris worked quickly and efficiently, he was in and out with the drain cleared in 20 minutes. He did a great job in busting the clog and kept the work area clean.
My tenants had a plug in their kitchen sink and I search yelp and found Bay Area Plumbing. Boris answers the phone and was professional and accommodating. He was able to go to the property within the 2 hour window and resolved the issue in less than an hour. I am very happy and satisfied with his work and bookmarked him for the future.
We had a clogged drain and called Boris around 8:30pm. He was over to our home within 15 minutes and unclogged the drain within an hour. He's very responsive and considerate. After the job he left everything nice and clean. We couldn't have asked for a better experience considering the circumstance.

Boris is a great find on yelp. I messaged on yelp and he is very responsive. I hired him to install a shower panel system in my house. He even gave tips on what or not works before I purchase the system. I would highly recommend him and use him again for any future plumbing work.
This company is as good a service provider as I've ever experienced. They charge an hourly rate and the plumber arrived at exactly the time he promised. He installed a new kitchen faucet, unclogged the kitchen drain and replaced some broken parts in the sink in 66 minutes. Total charge: $175.
If you contact other local plumbers you'll find that most don't want to charge hourly. Instead they quote fixed rate prices for their services. This is a reasonable way to do business but the prices are absurd. I spoke to several companies that wanted to charge me about $500 for the same work this plumber performed for $175. I think these company have high Yelp ratings because their customers haven't price checked their services.

I had as great an interaction with Boris as was possible. He replied promptly (via Yelp), gave me a good quote and a Saturday morning booking. He showed up on time, fixed the problem (clogged sink) quickly, and was done. Everyone should be like this!
I was having a problem with my gas fireplace and Boris came same day and fixed it quickly and with ease. Caroline was helpful and attentive in the office when I called to make an appointment and I will definitely call them again, when/if needed. Highly recommend!
Boris is awesome and provides excellent service! I had called pretty late, around 8pm and was either expecting to pay extra for being off-hours or make an appointment to be seen later in the week. Boris said he could be out there in half an hour, and his rate reasonable, if not cheap! Boris arrived with his truck in 15 minutes! I showed him the problem and he got straight to work, laying down plastic around his work area. The problem was fixed in 45 minutes. He doesn't talk much, but didn't mind getting asked questions or periodically watch what he was doing. He fixed my sink clog, finished in under an hour, charges a reasonable rate, is open late, and accepts payment by credit card. What more can you ask for?
We had a toilet problem and contacted Bay Area Plumbing around 1 pm on a weekday, and Boris was able to come around 3 pm. When we called initially we described the problem to the very helpful receptionist who asked us some questions about the toilet to make sure Boris would have the correct parts when he arrived, and he did. He was able to fix the issue efficiently and also provided some education to us on another plumbing question we had. Thank you for the speedy and quality service!
At 10:45pm on New Year's Eve, we found out that our water heater was broken. Boris responded within 15 minutes of me contacting the company and he was incredibly accommodating to work with my availability on New Year's Day.

Boris saved us! Last night, the shower in the apartment of our two-unit building would not turn off. We turned off the main water supply and replaced the washers on the valves. All good, but when I tried to turn the water back on, the handle just spun in my hand. By now, it was after 7:00 p.m. I started calling every 24-hour and emergency plumbing company I could find online. None of them could respond. None of them had the part needed. All of them said they could come in a day or two. We were getting desperate.
Finally, one of them told me to call Bay Area Plumbing. I reached Boris at 9:15 and he was at my house by 9:35. He didn't have the part, but he made a temporary repair that allowed us to get the water back on. He came back today with the part and fixed it for good. He also re-did my DIY repair -- the right way.

Great experience with Bay Area Plumbing. We had a broken garbage disposal and we were trying to get it fixed on a Sunday. Boris responded within 15 minutes to my request for a quote, was able to arrive at my apartment in less than an hour and had the issue fixed in 15 minutes. No discount on the service fee for the quick fix, but ultimately, was worth it for the convenience and professionalism. We're very satisfied.
I debated writing this, but it haunts me.
I needed someone to come over and repair a washer turn handle. It was spraying water. I got a quote from this guy and he said $275 to replace the handle. I agreed to this. He was late. When he showed up, he said all he did was tighten the handle. He charged $250. I asked him to change the handle for the agreed $275 price. He made excuses...all it needed was to be tightened, it's in a box and it is hard to get too, blah blah blah. I said yon are really going to charge me $250? You didn't do anything but turned a wrench one time. He said yes, for the visit. I told him I wanted to pay an additional $25 to replace the handle. He told me he cannot access it, it will cost more, he never said that. I have texts that he said this.
Any other repair person would charge half the price just to turn a wrench. Not $275 and refuse to replace it because he can't. I still feel ripped off!
He also wanted to charge me $275 to fix a dryer vent. I got it done for $100 with someone else.
We have used Bay Area Plumbing since somewhere around 1998 when we had our kitchen remodeled - - our contractor pulled him into the job for the plumbing work. He did all the plumbing for the kitchen and both bathrooms and we have used his services ever since from leaky faucets, replacing toilets, broken and/or plugged sinks, garbage disposals, etc. This week our water heater broke (was leaking from the top) and we called him Monday morning, he called and came out at 7p to diagnose the problem. In 5 minutes he came and told us we needed a new water heater and he would pick up the new one, install and dispose of old one the next night at 7p if we wanted. We knew he was working us into his already busy scheduled days and felt bad that he would come at 7p after working a full day - but he said that was fine. We said Yes and thank you so much for squeezng us in so last minute. He was on time (early) and did the job and was finished in a couple of hours. When he left - you would never have known he was there except for the wonderful work he left behind and HOT WATER! Boris is polite and professional, a hard worker, returns calls, shows up on time or earlier and cleans up like he was never there! I would recommend him to anyone and I am not one of his friends as someone mentioned in one of the comments, but would be proud to call him a friend! Let's face it - - most of the time, not all the time, but MOST OF THE TIME, when we need a plumber - - its an emergency. We have called on Boris more than a few times with emergencies and he always helps us!

Started the day with clogged kitchen sink and water leaking into lower cabinet. Called BAP, and was originally told that the plumber would come by later in the afternoon. That was ok, better later than never. Nice dispatcher called me back to say the plumber had finished a job early, so he'd be over shortly.
Boris K showed up promptly, checked out the problem, tried the easiest pipe tightening fix, which unfortunately didn't work due to clogged pipe. So he ran the snake all the way to building main line, cleared out the long-worsening clog, tighted all pipe connections with new hardware and cleaned up the whole work area. For about a month I had been having problems with my air gap shooting out water whenever I ran my dishwasher. I looked on YouTube and unsuccessfully tried to fix it myself by cleaning the air gap from the top. I had used Boris before for my family home so I knew he was reliable and trustworthy. We set up a time, he arrived 10 minutes early and he replaced my air gap (12.99) and hose (9.99) and charge me his hourly fee (250.00) for labor. It took him about 20 minutes to fix the problem and I am VERY happy. I do believe this is the going rate since I had some electrical outlets that were out and it cost me the same hourly rate to have an electrician come out and fix the problem. I had some trouble reaching him through Yelp and he told me it's better to just call him rather than message him on Yelp. I highly recommend Boris to anyone.

My man Kyle was great. Fixed my toilet, very efficient, nice guy, and gave me some great tips for the future.
My second time getting the same great service from Boris at Bay Area Plumbing. My kitchen faucet suddenly stopped running, another plumber charged way more and misdiagnosed the problem and couldn't even fix it. Boris was able to come by the next day, fixed what was thought was the problem, then came back to diagnose and fix the actual problem at no extra cost.

I contacted Bay Area Plumbing on a Sunday to request a quote to repair a water heater that had been leaking very slowly but continuously for about a week. I also contacted two other companies so I can compare estimates. One company said they wouldn't be able to provide the service, but recommended that I replace both water heaters (approx. $1200+ each) and to contact them for an appointment. The other company never responded back to my inquiry. Boris was able to assess what needed to be repaired based on the pictures I uploaded and he provided a quote within 30 minutes. Boris said he was available to come the next day between 5:15-5:30 pm. I didn't have to take any time off from work and he arrived just as promised. He completed the repair ($200) within 30 minutes and I no longer have a leaking water heater!
