I had a horrible experience with Discount mechanical and would recommend staying away from this company. I called because I had a clogged drain. The technician came to my house tightened the trap under the sink and then told me they don't do rudder work and they don't unclog drains. I was charged an hours worth of work. I listened to the recording with the technician and I specifically asked for help with a clogged drain and they failed to let me know that they do not unclog drains. I was charged a 145 dollars to tighten a T Trap.They are a worthless plumbing company that doesn't do plumbing. When I talked to the office manager she acknowledged the error on her staff for not informing me about the fact they don't unclog drains. She said she would reimburse me for 1/2 hour of service. When she called me back she said she would not reimburse anything after talking to the owner. I told her to have the owner call me back but the owner was too much of a coward to call me back.

I called on 11/20/2017 after a very cold night with my furnace going out and I was so grateful to Discount Mechanical for the excellent service that they provided for me. I called and there were no appointments available that day so I made an appointment for the next day. I told the friendly lady on the phone that I understood and I could make it one more night in the cold. She was so wonderful, she said I will see if we can fit you in somehow and she made sure I got service that evening. It was below zero and I was very grateful. And the Technician was so awesome he came to help me on his way home, I really wanted to say Thank you all at Discount Mechanical, I will never go anywhere else for my heating services.

I have had several experiences with Discount Mechanical recently, mostly through my Home Warranty company (which uses them). First, I needed my toilet repaired. I had to schedule 3 appointments: one for the diagnostic, the second for the toilet replacement, and the third because the guy who replaced the toilet did something incorrectly. Each plumber was unprofessional (one did not even introduce himself). The guy who replaced the toilet told me that we don't do caulking, so my husband had to caulk the toilet himself, as well as remove the caulking from the old toilet. I consider that to be uncompleted and lazy work.

Next, we had to have our furnace replaced. After being home from work (all day) to supervise the furnace replacement, the guys blew the breaker box. They said that since it was their fault, the company would pay for an electrician to come out and fix it so that they could then come back and complete the furnace (this was after I requested that this be written down, since the invoice they tried to give me stated that the work was complete). They never called me to schedule, so I called back in a few days. The owner informed me that the technician misspoke and that I would have to call my home warranty company and make another claim for an electrician to come fix the breaker.

Overall, I did get my toilet and furnace fixed; however, it took me six appointments (during which I had to take off work a total of 28 hours to meet Discount's appointment time windows), constantly confused and misinformed technicians, administrative assistants, and an unbelievable number of phone calls. I will not be using this company again unless absolutely necessary.

I was forced to use Discount because of HSAhome warranty. The initial visit went fine and Scott accurately diagnosed a broken heater. He told me a number of ways my new heater could be installed and wasn't decided on which way they'd do it.
After the estimate was submitted I was notified I would have a large out of pocket cost. This was not all Discounts fault as HSA has ways of making sure they cover as little as possible due to verbiage. What made me ultimately decide on getting another contractor was the lack of answers for some of the costs in the estimate. They quoted me 2-3x what venting costs, as well as attempting to gouge me on a scissor lift rental and complications charge. The technician explained to me that the complications cost was an undetermined amount that was necessary for the technician to work from and orient themselves to the equipment. Apparently Discount technicians do not know how to work from or operate scissor lifts and the charge is something that is unquantifiable. After pressing him on what the charge was for the technician said its just what it costs and he didn't have the exact costs of what equipment or supplies would be, even though those should be transparent.
He then proceeded to try and convince me that they don't make money on these jobs because of HSA flat rates and that I was holding him hostage by asking him what costs were that I would have to pay for out of pocket. The lack of candor and caginess on costs is the main reason I would never recommend anyone use this company if they have a choice. They didn't seem to mind that half the cost would be out of my pocket and weren't remotely interested in helping me find ways to mitigate that. Their costs are what they are and you should just accept that at face value.

Giving 5 stars for professionalism, integrity, and  expertise in our convoluted boiler system (Triangle Tube).  Since 2019 we have called them out three times and each visit was completely satisfactory. Quick response and first call resolution is so much appreciated.

Never never never use this business!!  After waiting 2 days for the plumber, he came to our house and looked at our boiler and then told us he didn't have the parts and our entire heating system piping had to be ripped out and redone   We only needed heat in one of our zones!  Upon leaving, he charged $145 for coming to our house.

Discount mechanical is a rip off!  If you need a plumber find someone else

The only reason we used Discount is because it's the only way our HSA home warranty would cover the repair of our Instahot. It took them several days to get back to use after we contacted HSA, then we got rescheduled because they had a more urgent repair to do before us. Once they finally came, they determined the item couldn't be repaired and needed to be replaced. They were to get approval from HSA within a day but they just never called us back. over a week later we were able to get in touch with them and then it's another week an a half before they can come to replace the item. it has been over a MONTH to get a very simple fix completed- it's not a large or expensive appliance.. if we hadn't hounded them about it we probably would have never heard back at all. I don't know if it's because the repair is going through our warranty or what but it seems like they just don't care in the least. I'm very unimpressed.

Worst service company I ever used. We used this company because our HSA warranty offer them for us. First time we have problem with a gasket in our shower tub. I tell them to check it. And they said that it's not a problem that we need just put some caulk around shower switch. Like the fact water start leak again on first floor when they left. After they send third guy, that guy finally replace gasket. From the small problem they made a huge mess. They took a part of drywall from the selling on the first floor and I need to wait couple more days painters to fix it.
Now I have problem with water boiler (with a pilot light). We wait more than a day when first guy came. He spend around 40 min ain't do nothing just laying on the floor and watch on the light. Than we wait 2 more days when they found new thermostat. It take them 24 min to replace it and they charge our insurance company $937. This total rip off even I didn't payed nothing from my pocket. And after that, in a same day, pilot light vent out.

On 9/17/21 set up an appointment with this company that I was not familiar with through my HSA home warranty. I was told they were the preferred company to use by the HSA rep on the phone. I have two semi-functioning toilets, one is leaking, and two toddlers so when they set up my appointment 11 days out I was anxious but accepted it. My husband and I made several arrangements to be home for this appointment. They called me the day before the appointment to tell me they wouldn't be able to help me until October 28th 2021, which is more than a month away! So unprofessional and a complete disappointment. Additionally a huge waste of our time. I would give them zero stars if I could. I will be requesting that HSA pick someone else for their preferred business. Ridiculous service!

We were forced to use Discount Mechanical for a 2nd Opinion because our HSA Warranty didn't agree with the cost of the first plumber's diagnosis/repair estimate.  Our water heater was leaking, had already caused significant damage to our basement, and Discount Mechanical said they could come out on Tuesday to do a diagnosis. This 2nd opinion was ordered on a Friday morning.  They finally were able to squeeze us in and showed up around 4:00 pm Friday. As of 12:30 Saturday afternoon, they still had not submitted their diagnosis to HSA, despite multiple calls from us and HSA.  In the meantime, our water heater continues to leak, with us having to vacuum water out of a shallow pan every hour to try to prevent further damage to our basement.  They are untimely, unreliable, and unresponsive to calls, with no consideration of their customers' needs at all.  Do not recommend this provider.

Did not show up wearing a mask, I had to ask for them to put it on during our worst spike with Covid 19. It's mandatory to wear a mask to go in public places, so it should be mandatory to wear a mask when you are going from household to household for work. And he took the mask off while working after I had asked him to put it on. At this point I could care less if the work is good this is my life and my families lives at stake

Have been trying to get a quote from them for over a week now, I have made multiple phone calls during the week and I have yet received the quote.
Their answer is we'll email it out at the end of the day, I can't do anything right now
They must be doing good enough to turn business down.

Reggie came out and replaced some parts that were not working properly. He was very nice. Explained things well. Let us know what was & was not covered by HSA. He sent us an estimate very quickly of the other things that need fixing. It was an all round good experience.

This should be called Scammer Mechanical because they overcharge and don't know what they're doing! I got charge up front for their first mechanic to waste 2hrs and buy a part that is not even broken. Then the part came and it didn't fixed the issue! We wasted 2 weeks for these AH! Parts are 2x or 3x expensive and lie about shipping speed. I cancelled my service and called Alkota, the mechanic came and knew what was wrong in less than 15mins and they didn't charge me for the visit! Alkota fixed my boiler and the parts was half the price these Discount scammer Mechanics quoted me! F them.

My heat started working intermittently in October.  Discount Mechanical charged me $135 to come out and tell me nothing was wrong. When my heat stopped working for good a week later they came out and replaced the circuit board. Even though they said they wouldn't charge me for the call itself, that bill was still over $650. My heat went out again last night (it worked for a month). I started leaving messages this morning when they first opened but never got a call back. In the meantime I got someone else out to fix the furnace (and tell me why my heat wasn't staying on). I called DM to tell them I didn't need a call back, but I kept getting hung up on. I'm not sure what happened there. I finally got hold of a woman with the company and she was was rude. As though it was a real bother that I was calling. About not having heat when it's 10 degrees outside.

Take your business elsewhere. These people are not easy to work with.

Came it and inspected and made some repairs and did really great there but only giving 2  as the repair guy spilled a lot of water from the boiler on the new carpet and didn't bother to clean it up or the mess and totally ruined the carpet in the boiler closet

Terrible company!!!   They supposedly inspected and signed off on our house prior to our purchase. Few weeks afterwards the heater has problems and home warranty company sends same company to inspect.  The inspector finds burnt gaskets, wires, and flame marks on the heater.  He states, don't know how anyy one can miss all this problem with the inspection,,  the person who inspected it did not even open the heater to check but sign off on it.  When I told them it was them, he said they would make it right, but send me an estimate for $10,000 plus dollars even with home warranty!  Dishonest!  Run away!

Horrible communication all around. After the technician showed up last night w/ no parts in hand to fix my water heater (previously ordered), I was told that the Manager Scott said I could make an appointment for anytime today that worked for me and he would be here himself. I chose the first appointment this morning, to which I was given a 1030 time. At 1030 w/ no tech/Manager at my house I called the office to be told Scott was in a meeting. I asked when he would be here for my 1030 appointment, I was placed on hold. Office staff came back on the line and said Scott just left to the warehouse to pick the part up, he would then be to my house in 25 mins. WHY did I even make an appointment!? WHY did the tech/Manager Scott say he'd be here at 1030!? Why did the tech/Manager Scott not pick the part up before my appointment!? Why did I have to call the office earlier in the week (Tues/Wed) to check & see if the part had arrived yet, only to be told it had!? How long was this part sitting there prior to me calling!? This place needs to accept accountability and fix all the things wrong w/ it. Who runs this crap show & where is the over site!? Unacceptable customer service and half-fast mechanical service. I certainly wouldn't choose this place if given the option. Unfortunately, for me I have a home warranty and they contract w/ Discount Mechanical. I assume my home warranty contracts w/ the lowest bidder, and in this case you absolutely get what you pay for....

Came out to fix a furnace that wasn't working. Left a part sitting in my kitchen sink with instructions to put it back on when it thawed.  No way to know how to put it back on.  Two days later, still 40 degrees inside the house.  They came back & said you just have to wait.  Wait until Spring, I suppose.  Called another company who 1) fixed the problem in about 30 minutes, 2) diagnosed an error code that company #1 missed, 3) said the part that was left off should never have been left off & could have damaged the furnace.

They had to come back 2 times first time they said the back house had no electric had to tell them to push the button on the socket in the room. Then they stated they don't do drywall repair I said OK I can find someone to do it and they don't do electric but they have someone they work with. The electrician never called or showed for the job. I called a separate electrician to do job. That electrician stated there is a significant whole that needs repair and the closing flap for exhaust is missing for outside exhaust from a fan out of the box?? The poor tenant did not know any better thought it was just going to be repaired so she never sent me pictures (now I know better thought she would have said something). I had tenant send me pictures. I called DM all they had to say was it is on our invoice we don't do drywall and your on recording that the tech told you it was a square fan that I provided going into round whole. Maybe that would be the time to say it's just not a little repair maybe you should get a different fan if the whole is that big?? My experience with contractors they are suppose to suggest what would be best and not trying to be mean but I was driving cross country talking to this guy who had such a thick accent I could barely understand him. I have never seen a contractor and the current one even said he would never leave a job like that and he don't do drywall either but he would not leave a job like that. I will never use them again for them and electrician over $800 and now I have to pay someone $650 to fix it properly.

Discount Mechanical sent a great technician to my home to fix a problem in my shower.  I did not have a problem with their work. I had an issue with the main office.  There was a problem with my bill and the owner refused to talk to me.  I am out $ because of a problem that the office created and wouldn't fix.  I would find another mechanical company to call if you want to be treated fairly.

Giving four stars for scott who went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. First guy they sent quoted us for parts we didnt need. Scott came and did the correct repairs. I had some problems after the fact and he came on a Saturday,  fixed the problems to include issues that I created on accident. Not sure about the company, but Scott was fantastic.

I should have read the reviews prior to paying the $89.00 call out fee, I told them exactly what needed to be fixed, what parts were needed, took pictures of the cracked elbow and sent it to them.  The guy came out and said this is a big job, this is a big job.  It wasn't, draining the boiler was the hard part, it was not a big job, it was to replace an elbow and crimp a 4 inch piece of pex.

They provided a quote with a 10 foot piece of pex, and gave me exactly what I told them was wrong in the first place for $89.00 that would not be applied the repair, that is just to get them to go to your place.  Then the original plumber called me and denied he said it was a big job, (gaslighting) so I paid $89.00 for a confrontation and did not let them back to my place.  I will never recommend or call them again.  No integrity, and they should let you know it isn't time and materials, they make up what they are going to charge you.

Late, Overcharged us for what should have been a very cheap fix (replacing a line) and then was rude when we asked them about it..  Then the same line later broke and they would not fix for free. Beware!

I'm totally satisfied with Discount Mechanical Plumbing and Heating!! Reggie was my technician, he's extremely knowledgeable, his professionalism exceeded my expectation,  he's very honest, and he explained what was needed without trying to make me pay for unnecessary things. I was highly impressed with his punctuality and his politeness. I highly recommend Discount Mechanical Plumbing and Heating.. Simply the best!!
