If I could give more stars I would! Stefan and his staff were EXTREMELY helpful, kind, professional, and quick with the repairs that were needed in my building. I would highly recommend this company for any of your electrical needs!! They even missed Superbowl Sunday to help me out, now that's some great service!! ;) Thank you again AC/DC!

We needed some work on our variable light switch that quick working in the bathroom. Darrell came right over and fixed the wiring very quickly. He also noted that one of the toggles wasn't working so he fixed that to. Very well trusted and knows his stuff!!

I was selling my condo and the home inspector found that my fuse box had corrosion on some of the fuses and what looked like rust on the bottom of the fuse box itself. I called around and got some quotes for the worst case scenario of replacing the entire fuse box. Marcus was up front that it would be very expensive to replace the whole box but he wanted to look at it before he quoted me. He came over and told me that all it was was dirt on the bottom of the fuse box. He whipped it down real quick and replaced the corroded old fuses. In and out, the job was down in less than hour and that included running up to the nearest part store to get the fuses. He charged me just the hour and the cost of the fuses, extremely fair. Highly recommend T&D!

My in-laws had trouble with service company they hired to fix their range 2 days ago.  Long story short, the technician blew up their fuse and their whole electric box went out. On top of being on the edge with all the trouble that was done by the repair technician, they had the hardest time to finding an electrician for an emergency appointment. They were told one will come that night but ended up being a no show.

I contacted Ryan electrical power for a quote that night and he responded right away. Given that it was already about 10pm, my in-laws chose to just wait for an electrician from Hobson to come the following morning.

Thursday morning comes and I get a call that the guy was no show again. I gave them Ryan's number and not only was he willing to squeeze them in for that day but he actually took time to listen to their problem and he was able to walk them to fix their issue of restarting their electrical panel.  Folks, this is when you know that one is a master of their craft. It ended up that they didn't even need to have an electrician come over.

Thank you so much for your expertise that you were able to help 2 strangers when they were very frantic and tired. We have saved your information and will recommend you whenever a need for an electrician arises.

Upon purchasing our house we had a lot of electrical work that we desperately needed done in a very timely way. I called Highlights and within one day we had a consultation visit and a contract for the work, set at a very reasonable price. Two days later the work started and went smoothly throughout. The electricians are BAD ASS!!! No job is too difficult. They troubleshoot quickly, and clearly love what they do. They are professional by all standards and their work is clean, precise, careful, and rigorous. They care for what they do and they respect the budgets of their customers. They are also very responsive to their customer's needs and reply to text questions immediately. Communication with Highlights is great and they are always on time. I can't say enough good things about Highlights and when we need more work done we will have no hesitation to contact them first. They are contractors you can trust, respect, and you can be sure that things will be done right the first time and in time for whenever your deadline may be. Book them now because they are busy and for good reason!

Steer Clear. This is not a legitimate electrical company. Gave me an estimate and did the electrical work for an EV charger in our condo building. Even though building management didn't request City of Chicago license initially, they checked for it later (it can be asked for at any time) and this company is not licensed in the City of Chicago and its illegal to do residential work without it. The job was done completely wrong and he almost blew the sump pump and electrical to entire building by connecting to a panel inexplicably and was told not to. Installed wiring that was bent and broken and taped together which could have caused shocks and burning. New contractor easily installed it - no bends or breaks. The wall outlet installed was open and exposed, and if water dripped to it could electrocute people. Sloppy, cut corners, dangerous, illegal and not up to code. Absolute garbage, rushed work. Refused to get City of Chicago license and come fix job. We will be pursuing our money back. This is an illegitimate electrical company. Avoid at all costs.

Addendum to review:

Right, I'm not an electrician , but here are couple facts that a real electrician should have known and done, that found out about your job.

You were told by the building engineer to use the 480/277 volt panel because 208/120 was already at the capacity.

You just plainly ignored that and proceeded with your version. Maybe you don't know the difference between two.

You ran 208/ 120 wires through 480/277 panel which was a huge code violation and a human life safety issue.

And that's not all:

Then you spliced those wires inside that panel multiple times -- code violation.

You then decided to use lightning contractor conduit to run the wires and overfill that conduit -- code violation.

You installed the breaker at the wrong panel (which was at capacity) so you overloaded that panel.

The wire was badly scraped

You removed pipe straps and made the electrical conduit loose -- code violation.

J boxes that you installed were unsecured and loose with knock outs missing -- code violation

I'm still waiting on the city of Chicago electrical registration paperwork  from you.

A qualified electrician would know right away that he is working with 480/277 volts and would have informed me that i needed a step down transformer in order for the EV charger to work!

On top things you have charged me over $2K for 2 J boxes and a roll of #6 wire, which costs $600 at the most. The piping was already 97% there , so what took you so long.

It took a qualified electrician a total of 8 hours to remove the faulty work and install everything from scratch including installing the transformer.

We'll happily accept a refund to settle this matter

High quality work for a great price. Very impressed and will be hiring them for more work in the future. They hung a chandelier in my house with very high ceilings and it looks great.

Recently used Urban Power to have third panel installed at my 2 flat in Logan Square and the needed infrastructure installed to house a new third meter.  I found Jake to be easy to work with. I feel all work was completed satisfactorily and in a timely manner.  I also felt the pricing was fair compared to other quotes I received.  I felt some of the other quotes I received, the companies were trying to over sell me.  Jake quoted the proper materials need to get the job done.  I would gladly use Jake again in the future and recommend him.

What more can I say about these guys. Professional, courteous, thorough and they warranty their work. I had them quote out a $20k job with fixtures and not only did they complete it early, they also managed to save me quite a bit under budget. I also had them do some stuff around my condo and they also did great work. I highly recommend them for any project big or small.

I used Kinetic Energy after a lackluster experience with another company. Kinetic has been a joy to work with (though no one wants electrical issues!).  

Even when they are busy, they are quick to respond and they always arrive on time and are able to identify issues and fix anything that's needed. Even for scheduled light fixture installations, they've been quick and always keep me informed of what they've done and work efficiently.  They've also always cleaned up spotlessly which is always helpful.

I had 3 people come out for discussions on our project and Tom came up with great recommendations for outdoor installation of lights and fixed some landscaping spotlights. He was reliable, helped pick out products and did a great job.  I'd definitely recommend him and will use him for future projects.

This is a great handyman service - I had a leaking toilet that they came out to fix. 8 months later, the problem recurred, and I was dreading paying for someone come out again. I spoke with Fixer and they were happy to do a follow-up repair free of charge. Really quality customer service!
