Brought in a table lamp for repair yesterday. Found this business on Yelp and since it was farly close to my home, thought I'd give it a try. I had a similar problem with another lamp several months ago and used a different shop for the repair. Had to leave it for 3 days and was charged more than I thought reasonable.
However, Michael (owner) of Light for You was a whole different story. He asked when i needed it and I told him, whenever it was ready. His response, give me an hour. Wow!
Bottom line, Michael is a true pro and a great guy. Work done on lamp was absolutely perfect! And the cost.....half of what the other shop charged and the work was much better.
Buying or repairing...you cannot do better than Michael at Light for You.

Amp Electric are super experienced and professional folks. Jaime initially came out to quote the work to install a new exhaust fan and I immediately had good vibes from him. These guys are genuine and care about the work, and gave a very fair price. I never felt like they were trying to pull one on us, and at this point we have met a lot of contractors looking to rip off new homeowners. Also the entire time we worked together they were always respectful of our space and wore masks. As with all old houses there was a bunch of weird stuff hiding behind the walls but they went above and beyond to take care of things the right way per code. We ended up also hiring them to replace our dangerous Federal Pacific electric panel and they took care of the communication with PGE and building permits as well. And most importantly they were AWESOME with communication. Jaime made it clear that we could always reach out to see how things were going (and working with PGE means that there are gonna be months of waiting before work can start) so we never felt abandoned and he would promptly respond with our status whenever we reached out. These guys are a diamond in the rough, I can't recommend them enough!

I am not the type of man who typically writes reviews, I just felt I needed to tell the world what great old-fashion service I received from Adam and his crew at Kirby Electric. From start to finish the crew excelled at the Three P's -Polite, Professional and Punctual. They upgraded my main electrical panel, as well as installed new LED lighting. The cost was very reasonable, and I was more than happy to pay for the outstanding end result. Would refer to friends and family, no questions asked!!! Excellent job guys.

We recently replaced both of our HVAC units. We have had good and bad contractors..
Service Champions is EXCELLENT!
From the initial scheduling with Cathy to Candise for our estimate then the huge job Jose and his team did to replace both systems went seamlessly. It was a huge investment and we are so glad we chose to go with this company. Thank you to all who where involved at Service Champions.

Ross showed up on time. His prices were fair and he worked quickly to resolve the issue. I would definitely recommend.

Another five star review. Mario came out to fix two pendant lights in our kitchen. It was complicated but he figured out the problem and explained what he was doing every step of the way. I will definitely call him the next time I need an electrician.

I called Bay Electric and Kevin helped me to solve me issue over the phone. This helped to save me hundreds of dollars (maybe more). I offered to pay him a bit for his help and he said don't worry about it and he was happy to help. Kevin clearly showed that this company operates with integrity. Would highly recommend in the future.

They arrived in the window they quoted, fixed the problem, took time to explain why might be wrong, asked if I had any questions, cleaned up, and left promptly. Payment was an anticipated. Technicians were masked and kind.

Robert is the most reliable electrician I have used in sf. He has been at it since '85 so he has been around the block and has seen everything.
When smoke started coming out of our breakerbox we panicked! Robert gave us good advise immediately over the phone and he showed up first thing in the morning to fix the issue. Robert was able to guide us through deducing the issue and once he found the problem he fixed it in no time. On a Sunday. And he was a pleasure to work with. We could not recommend him highly enough! I'm calling Robert for all my electrical moving forward.

I had put in a call to my Home Warranty company with an issue with my AC Unit during the recent heatwave and the HVAC Tech that came out told me that the issue wasn't due to the AC system itself but an electrical issue with the breaker the AC was connected to. Unfortunately for me this was something that was not covered by the warranty as it was an issue of improper wiring from the previous owner of the home and I'd have to find my own electrician. The HVAC Tech stated I just needed to have the breaker replaced and the issue would be resolved. I put in a request for a quote online Friday night hoping to get a price range on what I would be looking at for the job. The next morning I got a range of responses from electricians saying that they would need to do a diagnosis to see if it was the actual problem and that could run me $95-$200 alone without the work actually being done and the soonest they could fit me in was Monday or Wednesday the following week. One electrician replied that I would be looking at $750 to get the breaker replaced and new wiring installed from the breaker to the condenser and that didn't include having any sheet rock repaired if that was necessary. Then entered Darren. Rather than rattling off all the possible charges I would have to pay for and how much he charged for a diagnostic he just asked some common sense questions like how long I'd had the ac unit and how long I'd been having the issue. After a couple replies back and forth and a picture of the label on my condenser Darren told me how much the job would be to replace the breaker and that he could be there in an hour and knock it out. No haggling, no additional charges for work I hadn't asked for, no bs, just what it would run to do the actual work and having it done same day. He showed up and had my AC back up and running within 15 minutes. I appreciate his honestly and directness. There was not even a hint of an attempt to up-sell the work. Just what I asked for and getting it done right and quick. I highly recommend Darren. Good guy.

They are still 5-star. We called them this morning with our tale of woe and they showed up today. I love these guys. Professional. Efficient. Competent. Rock stars of the highest electrical order.

I had an electrical emergency and needed my panel replaced ASAP! I had to call at least 6 electricians in Walnut Creek/ Concord and left a bunch of messages- a few unreturned calls and a few that had to schedule out 2-3 weeks (not an option as I didn't have power to most of my house). When I called Norseman (expanding my search outside of WC), I actually got someone that answered the phone rather than a voicemail and they were able to come out right away to take a look. They scheduled the service for the next day and I had power by the following afternoon. We had a few minor hiccups with permits/ inspections, but I was very happy with their work. They offered me a fair price, we're super speedy in their response, and did great work. Thanks so much Randy and Co!

We had some potential issues with some various electrical problems. Edward was great. Communicative and diagnosed the problems quickly and fixed them. Just glad it wasn't any bigger problem but some simple fixes.

Orbis helped us completely rewire our 1939 home and install all new lights and power receptacles. A big job, and they were great to work with: offered a very competitive price that met our target budget, were reliable and responsive, made some changes along the way as we learned and discovered new conditions, and helped us find competitive prices for the lights and other equipment that we needed. All in all we were consistently impressed by their professionalism and efficiency and the quality of their work. Ivo and Armando and the rest of their team did a wonderful job, we warmly recommend them.

We needed an electrician to upgrade our Condo unit electrical panel from 60 amp to 100 amp as well as run a new 240v/30 amp disconnect box and 120v regular outlet from our panel to an area in our garage where we were re-locating a new hybrid heat pump water heater. Darwin tackled it in one day with the absolute minimal interruption of our electrical service. I highly recommend Darwin. Fast, knowledgeable and friendly.

Upgrading the main power panel required very good works! After i went over many electricians on Yelp. I came up in my search and found Formosa.
Formosa had a good number of reviews, most are 5 stars.
Formosa came out and looked over the house and provided a very reasonable estimate.
We worked out a schedule for the work to be done and they were very accommodating.
Roger arrived with a couple of additional gentlemen. They were very professional, fast but thorough and provided good quality work.
I can't emphasize how important it is to use Yelp when you're looking for good quality as a consumer. It's the best way to ensure you get the best quality goods and services in addition to maximizing your investment.

I just wanted to give a shout out to Boyes Electric even though I didn't use their services. I had an after hours electrical emergency, and another company referred me to Boyes when they were unable to help me. I spoke with Sal, and even though they were booked up through the week, he talked me through the problem and suggested what to do until I could get an electrician to come out. That night I was upset and worried about this electrical problem, and Sal took the time to help me come to a temporary solution. I appreciate such professional and kindness.

I rarely leave reviews but couldn't resist sharing the wonderful and highly competent work of Sattler Electric. Sid was so helpful that he suggested several remedies to me via text and of-course it worked! I was able to address the electrical problem myself. This was so welcomed since we'd been living with our stove plugged in a room several feet away by using multiple extension cords. Probably an electrical hazard in itself. He also offered to come out and check for additional issues and to find the source but without pressuring me. In this time of pandemic this was a great solution.
Go Sid! You clearly are a master electrician who knows his craft. Thanks for helping our family during a crisis time.

I've used Century on and off for years. They are expensive and not totally on top of their front office - bills will surprise you, and the the company will respond indifferently, if at all, to your requests for explanation - so I keep trying other electricians, then come back occasionally for jobs that are either complex or very visible in the house. Only the quality of work gets Century 3 stars.
Lately, though, Century 's front office has been sliding to the point where I probably won't come back. Work quality is still high, thanks to Brian (their best guy - try to work with him if you hire Century), but the appointment screw-ups, ridiculous invoices and bad attitude of front-office personnel make working with them too much of a hassle.
If you need good work done, and you are willing to put up with scrambled appointment times, seriously high prices and indifferent treatment or outright rudeness, make sure that you get the phone number of the person who actually shows up at your house. Then, whenever you make an appointment through the central office (the only way Century does it), call the electrician to confirm the appointment time/date. Otherwise, you never know when they will arrive.
