This is a delayed review from service I received in February of 2014 from Big Blue;  This was the really bad winter we all remember and my gas boiler went out on a Friday of one of the coldest days of the year.  I could not get anyone to come out to look at my boiler;  Big Blue did come out Saturday and replaced the igniter.   It was not a huge job but they get 5 stars for showing up when no one else would!!!

Follow Up:  I hired Big Blue to replace my furnace and water heater this summer and they did a fantastic job!!  They put in a great furnace and an indirect water heater and the price was reasonable based on numerous other quotes I received from other plumbers.  Now we have plenty of hot water and the heat seems to work much better, very quiet and even heat distribution.

I received some very good information  from an experienced plumber.If your anticipating the purchase of a newer furnace give him a call first. You will be grateful and very informed.

I have used Ostroski Plumbing several times over the last few years at my condo and have had outstanding results utilizing this company. Greg is always on time, works very neat - never a mess, and always comes in on budget. Due to my work schedule I have made arrangements to let Greg in and leave him there until the work is completed. I've never had any issues other than exceptional results. I will use Greg again and would recommend him to anyone looking for no-nonsense quality plumbing solutions on the North Shore. Jerry was very friendly and professional, and I felt comfortable having him in my home to work on our plumbing issue. He saved us a good amount of money, assuring me that he could fix our shower valve with a replacement part, instead of getting a whole new system installed (we returned that system to home depot). He came by at 3:30pm, called up a plumbing supply place, went and got the part, and got it all done by 5pm! Highly recommended, and I will be calling J&B's plumbing from now on whenever I need a plumber.

Angel with Dynamic Plumbing was really easy to work with, no fluff. We thought we had a leak coming from a 3rd floor apartment to the 2nd floor, and it turns out it's just discoloration from paint. Once he arrived he was quick,  did the necessary tests to confirm there was no leak, and made recommendations for how to move forward. He could have easily cut holes in the wall and charged us more, but instead was honest and saved us a lot of hassle.

We will definitely call Angel again for future issues.

Received a return call from some rude lady to schedule a heating service. Worst attitude like they're the only plumbing company in MA. I'd rather not deal with that.

Wayne is incredibly helpful. He diagnosed the the problem quickly and solved it equally as fast. It was clear to me that Wayne takes pride in his work and pays attention to the fine details to make sure everything is done just right. As an example, when setting valves for water flow, Wayne explained to me when it is important to make sure the valve is not completely locked. He explained that this can lead to the valve becoming stuck, which can lead to damage in the future. Wayne also offered to show me what he was doing and explain why so that I have the tools to troubleshoot in the future if I need to. He also provided other tips with regard to plumbing that seem generally helpful to know (and I was unaware of) to avoid small things that can lead to costly ploblems.

Overall, I highly recommend Wayne. I will be using him for all future plumbing needs.

Heard of this company on a neighborhood feed.  Spoken of very highly by several folks.  Had a plumbing issue and called Monday morning.  Dave showed up the next day.  Replaced a 26 y/o frozen shower valve with a brand new one and was here and gone in 45 minutes.  As nice and knowledgeable a fellow as you could want.  Just got the bill.  Very fair.

I used Scott for a bathroom remodel. He gave me very good advice when it came to the planning and design phase, helping me make good choices for my needs. Once work commenced he addressed issues right away and communicated them to me clearly, while providing options for various solutions to keep the project moving.

If you want an experienced crew who use best practices for long lasting quality work then give Scott a call. For quality craftsmanship and years of industry knowledge be prepared to pay a little extra, prices are fair, and Scott stands by his work, so it's well worth it.

We recently moved into a condo in Tewksbury already equipped with a washer and an electric dryer. We brought with us our own high efficiency washer and gas dryer and wanted them installed. After scouring various websites and reading countless reviews and consulting colleagues, we contacted Damaso Plumbing and Heating to come out to view the job and provide a separate quote for each appliance.

Brian was very polite from the initial contact through completion and invoicing of the job. He came out to view the job and assess what was required since we had an existing gas line in the house just not one that ran to the room where the dryer would be installed.  He actually removed his shoes before entering our home. I appreciated his demonstration of respect for our property.

Within a week from viewing the job we received a detailed quote and ultimately decided to have Damaso Plumbing and Heating.  We opted to have them come out on two separate occasions to perform the work -install the washing machine and dryer to include a new gas line to the dryer.

Brian is very busy and worked with us accommodating our schedules.  He made all the necessary arrangements for the permit and town inspection.

You may pay a little bit more with Damaso Plumbing and Heating but you get what you pay for with Brian, the consummate professional.  Brian is honest, polite, prompt, showing up when he says he will, works efficiently, comes prepared so you're not paying his time to go back and forth for supplies, meticulous cleaning up after himself and willing to work and think outside the box to find innovative solutions.

We hired Mario last summer to replace our forced hot water boiler which was very old. He was fast to respond, stopping by within a few days to take a look at our current boiler setup, and offered recommendations on whether a 90% efficiency cast iron or 92% stainless steel boiler was better. In the end, we went with his recommendation of the 90% efficiency Weil Mclain boiler since cast iron maintains heat better. He was fast to email his itemized quotes by email and helpful to give us separate cost-saving options. His quote wasn't the cheapest, but it was reasonable, and Mario did almost all of the work himself (with just 1 helper) and his quote included city permits.

We also hired Mario to replace the 3 toilets in the house, 2 vanities, some shower fixtures, and install our new washer and gas dryer (the new orientation of the dryer needed changes to the gas line). Again, he was fast on his work, and even helped us get rid of 2 toilets.

Mario can seem a little impatient at times, but this is because he is often direct to the point. We haven't had a problem with the work Mario has done for us since summer, and Mario promised he'd be back to fix anything if there was a problem. We would not hestitate to hire Mario again.

Hinchey Brothers Plumbing is Great! Sam did a boiler tune up in the beginning of January. Marlene the Office Manager contacted me the day before
my appointment and on the day of the appointment regarding Sam's arrival time.Sam maintained precautions wearing a mask. He was very professional/polite and on time. The tune up didn't take long.I have been using Hinchey Brothers for years! I highly recommend them!!!!

Two plumbers I called never got back to me until 2 days later. I called foster plumbing at 10am. They sent a tech and apprentice to my house by 12pm of the same day. They fixed the leak within 1 hour. Ronnie and jake thanks again. Great guys and great services.

Great service, they came to my house to install a gas dryer, the job was efficient and the price was right! Highly recommended!

One of the best things about Cambridge and its people is that we will always love and appreciate good old local businesses. Malcolm and sons is an over a hundred year old business that had worked with generation after generation of their customers. They are trustworthy, professional, and do their best.

They are there for you when no one else can or wants to take the job.

Plumbers - they have you by the cojones, simple as that.  When our disposal died (and by died, I mean it didn't even turn on, just flat out decided to call it a day),  I sent a few emails, made a few calls, and the folks at Barrell were responsive and kind.  We set up an appointment , Joe A. showed up, fixed the disposal, and then charged me an insane amount of money, including travel time.  I said but you were only here for an hour (an hour which included plenty of chatting, phone calls to the office, etc).  I begrudgingly wrote the check (again, they have you by the cojones) and headed off to work.  

Anyway - being that I can't keep my mouth shut, I sent an email to the folks at Barrell and asked about the billing.  The following morning I got a phone call from Carl in billing apologizing profusely.  He also said he would discard the check I wrote and re-bill for the work less the extra hour we were billed.  Given this is a plumber, one hour is a significant chunk of change.  Needless to say, I was plenty happy with the results.  I would give them five stars, but the fact I even had to go back and question the bill warrants four stars.

I had a flood from my AC unit. MacCO had serviced my unit for several years and then found out they did not actually service my unit- which resulted in permanent damage and a cracked drain pan. The flood seeped through my wall and into the hall and damaged my hardwood floors.  When I called them, they were rude and unpleasant.  Probably because I am a female.  When I asked the person they sent out, what should I do, the reply was not my problem, they were not help at all.  I had two other companies look at my unit, they both said same thing.  When MacCo replaced the coil, the person just dropped it in, never secured it, which resulted in the drain pan cracking and the resulting flood.  I have since spoken with other people in my building, they all say the same things - MacCo service people are rude and do not care and take advantage of people who do not understand their AC systems.

Pescatore is claiming to be out of business and refuse warranty repair for a $15k system they installed 6 months ago.

DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY! What a bunch of thieves they are. They came by on Monday, the day before 4th of July. I called at 7:51am Monday morning, and the lady on the phone gave me an estimation of a noontime visit by the plumber. Two men surprised me by showing up in the morning as I was getting out of the shower. No phone call to inform me of the schedule change. That in itself was not the problem. One of them mentioned that they were hoping to get all of their appointments done by noon and call it a day. I thought okay, no problem, glad I was home and heard their loud knocks.

Before I go on any further, I was quite surprised when I saw their van outside of our house. It said Crescent Plumbing. The number I had saved on my phone was actually under Executive Plumbing. Apparently some time between my last need of a plumber to this recent problem, Crescent Plumbing had taken over the number. I had good experiences with Executive twice, but this was my first with Crescent and will be my last.

Our problem started the night before. My husband tried to fix our leaking bathroom faucet. After taking it apart, he thought he figured out the problem. We hurried to Home Depot as it was nearing closing time and bought what we thought was the problem, a stem assembly replacement. So we bought 2, one for cold and one for hot. Went home and put the new ones in. The leak stopped because now there was no water flow. ??? We did buy the correct parts, but now we had a new set of problem. Something was plugging it. The next morning, I called the plumber, which I thought was still Executive. I don't even remember if the lady who answered actually specifying Crescent Plumbing. She must've and I probably just didn't notice.

They knocked, they came in, they heard what the problem was, they went upstairs to look at the bathroom faucet, one of them went down the stairs to get something from the van, he came back up the stairs, replaced this little doohickey thing at the nose tip of your faucet, both men went down the stairs, one went back to the van, one stuck around to fill out the bill and waited for me to write him a check. They were in my house for FIVE lousy minutes and gave me a bill for $165!!!! I kid you not. They were in my bathroom for no more than 2 minutes and they charged me ONE HUNDRED SIXTY FIVE STINKIN' DOLLARS. That little doohickey they replaced was an aerator that you can find in any Home Depot for 2 bucks or less. Still reeling......
