You ever have that Tuesday after a holiday weekend where you feel like the universe is going to absolutely punish you in exchange for a few relaxing days off? Like that one post Memorial Day week a long time ago where my body decided that kidney stones were a good idea. What is it with this weekend attacking my plumbing?

I'm getting ahead of myself.

Plumbing. My wife got up early - as nurses tend to do - to begin her day. When she started the water in our bathroom ... it sounded a bit like an incredibly angry psychopath was trying to violently shake apart our plumbing. While I found this sound to be upsetting, our dog was outright enraged. He let me know that this was to stop immediately and that he expected me to call in a plumber as soon 8AM rolled around (did I mention this was all going down at 5:20 AM?).

So yeah, pluming once again under attack after a long holiday weekend.

Okay, I might be blaming this on the universe, but I will grant the universe this: the solution was also waiting for me on the doorstop this morning. Our community newsletter was there, and within it, the number to Black Mountain Plumbing.

I don't really like making phone calls, but my dog (the one insisting this get fixed IMMEDIATELY) also will not make these calls. So I relented and got through right away. Daniel was available and in the area, and get this ... would be over ASAP.

A few tests later, the problem was identified. By 10:30 AM, the violent shaking pipes had been calmed by a new pressure regulator (I wish they made this for humans, BTW). Daniel also fixed an unrelated issue with the lack of hot water in my shower.

Everyone I worked with was very helpful and honest. My dog is no longer giving me dirty looks. And I still have the majority of this post-holiday Tuesday to enjoy.

I'm not a fan of days beginning like this one did, but I am a huge fan companies like this who show up and do an amazing job and set things right.

Cali plumbing are very professional and respectful, even wore shoe protectors when entering my house. Unclogged toilet and even informed me of other issues I may want to fix at a later time. Cleaned up after themselves.

Had a complicated set up adding a whole house water treatment system and a new hybrid water heater. These guys were amazing and even though they ran into complications they stayed until everything was fixed and running properly. They even stuck around to make sure the fixtures in the house were running properly and that I was able to connect to my water heater through the app.

Thank you Matt....George (Plumbing Technician) was fast, knowledgeable and accommodating. Repair's and service was reasonable.  I will definitely highly recommend your company to my friends and family. Thanks!!!

Don kicked ass. He was sweating and getting dirty tearing massive roots out of our toilet drain pipe. I imagine some plumbers would have ran away. Really nice guy!

Leon Mcirvin, wasn't trying to rip you but he gave us cost affective way to save money by digging our trench ourselves instead applying trench to the bill. He was kind and funny, he would crack jokes here and there make at me ease and his easy to work with he wasn't trying to intimidate you with plumbing terms and he would tell it how it was.

David has been providing our plumbing services for over 8 years now home remodeling projects and the quality and price has been outstanding. I highly recommend this company.

Highly recommended. Very trustworthy. We were days away from leaving to Europe and our instant hot water heater went out. Touchdown Plumbing rushed a new one and made sure our girls were all set with hot water while we were miles away. Great communication and extremely professional.

Gabe responded to my request very quickly and was able to take care of the kitchen in my rental the next day. He called me after the job was done to explain his work and described other possible issues that may occur in the future. He was professional and will be my go-to person for jobs at the house. We had a backed up bathroom sink that just was not flowing in our '54 house.. We suffered for months with a slow drain until it finally stopped working.

We shopped several companies, including reviews, Affordable Drain Service was the best in price ($88 flat fee for up to 1.5hrs labor). Called at 10am on a Monday, they scheduled a crew for a very tight window of 3-5pm (ask the cable company to do that!)...

I told them that I would be home all day and if something else opened up earlier it was cool. 12:30 I get a call, they had a cancelation and were in the area. Truck arrived 20mins later, two guys (Nick and Stephen), both friendly with me and the dog (who is skittish about anyone that gives off a bad vibe).

They had me sign an estimate for the $88 plus additional $10 for a part if required (it was not!).

They did their thing with the snake, took out all the gunk 20ft down the pipes and were gentle enough to protect our dated cast iron system.

Total time, 50mins from doorbell to credit card payment.

The little things that matter:
- Good documentation up front, nothing sneaky
- Friendly guys that are cool with dogs, the dog was leaning hard against Stephen getting massive pets within 5mins, rare for new people
- Quick work.. They knew what was gonna happen, took charge, and just did it, I did not even needed to supervise.
- Tested everything, multiple times
- Clean up: They brought their own towels, not like with my other plumber. They even sanitized the work area, back wall, cabinet floor and toilet.

In all, highly recommended, will use them again.

Down to earth and professional.  Very honest with amount of effort it takes to complete the job.  Troy replaced 40 year old washing machine faucet connectors within an hour of arrival on a Saturday.  His number is saved to my contacts.

We had a clogged toilet & back up into the bathtub today & went on yelp to find a drain cleaner. We liked all the reviews & 5 star ratings we saw on Christian. Also liked his family video. Sounded like a really nice, honest guy, so we gave him a call. Wasn't disappointed at all. He was at our house in 20 minutes, accessed the problem & went to work. One of the things I appreciated so much was that he took his shoes off before walking on our new carpet. He cleaned up after he finished unclogging the problem & explaining how we can possibly prevent anymore. We got an education, a clean out & met a very nice guy who knows his business & is anxious to help people in need. We wouldn't hesitate to call Christian again if we have any problems.

Great, knowledgeable and friendly plumbers!

I actually hired them previously but was not able to go through with them because my HOA required their on-site plumbers to shut off the water in the area briefly. It worked out since now I have access to my shutoff valve and can work with other plumbers.

Through Yelp messaging I was able to schedule an appointment fairly quick with them. Viviana and Joe kept me informed with the parts they're using and even moved up my appointment time since they had an opening earlier in the week.

I originally wanted an in person estimate but instead they moved it to a virtual consultation with me providing various pictures of plumbing issues.

They updated my shower fixtures with a Moen valve and shower head which replaced the rusted valve and shower that looked to be the original parts from when the condo was built in the 80s. The shower was tiled so they did have to cut out a bigger hole to access the damaged valve which meant a bigger cover plate. Overall they did an amazing job the shower works flawlessly, it was quick and no messed was left behind.

Definitely could recommend and would rely on them in the future!

Jeff is so easy to work with gets the job done when you need it most.  He saved me (and my neighbors )from non-compliance with the city twice now. Im truly grateful for his quality work and timeliness.  I'm also thankful that I don't need to ever search for a backflow professional ever again. Thank you Jeff!
