Our 7th time using Black Mountain Plumbing and we were happy to get SOLOMON again.   As expected, Solomon was professional and prompt.  Solomon replaced the water pressure regulator with internal bypass, and soldering.  1 Year Parts and Labor Warranty.  We like this company. Smooth transaction and service every time.

Joe and his team are top notch professionals. Our water heaters stopped working. Matt came out the next day to evaluate our needs. He was very helpful and patiently answered all my questions. The next day his crew arrived on time and installed our brand new water heater in about 3 hours. They took great care to protected our flooring and cleaned up everything upon leaving. Oh my gosh, Mike and his team were GREAT! We had an emergency and they came out after hours to help and were incredibly understanding and gracious. The also handled other work for us as well. Believe the high ratings they receive on here, they have earned it. We will never use another plumber!

I had a very disappointing experience with this company. I had a slab leak and called By the Book to get a leak detection done. I made it clear that leak detection was the only service I needed from them that day, as I was going to weigh my options for plumbing. Leon came out and immediately was very condescending right off the bat. I get it, I'm a girl, I look young, but assuming I'm dumb is a bold move. I ask for leak detection, and Leon is already giving me the go around about why he can't do that. He tried telling me I don't have any water damage, even though I felt warm spots underneath our entire kitchen (meaning water was leaking and spreading under the vinyl). If I listened to Leon, we would have severe mold damage under our floors. I also knew there was water flowing in our bathroom and Leon said he didn't hear anything and implied I was just making up the noise. After not doing what I requested and instead doing a walk through of our whole house, Leon said he would be back in 5-10 minutes. He came back a full HOUR later! I had no idea what he was doing as I thought he was maybe preparing his leak detection equipment. Instead, he was ignoring my request and coming up with 10 different plumbing options to repipe the entire house. I was annoyed because all I wanted was a leak detection and Leon was refusing to do that. I quickly told him I wanted him to leave and he got visibly upset and threw a tantrum! I've never seen a professional old man do this. He told me I wasted his time, which I quickly reminded him that I never asked him to sit in his car for an hour. After throwing a fit, Leon finally left and I still had no leak detection done.

I called a different company, Mastercraft, and they came out, detected my leak, and showed me that I had bad water damage under the floors. They were very kind the entire time during the water remediation process and told me how to do everything through my insurance. I then called California Repipe and Plumbing to take a look at the leak and they had a very quick response time. They were extremely patient explaining the entire process to me and gave me very reasonable prices. It was clear they were not trying to take advantage of me and were there solely to help me.

By the Book Plumbing clearly does not train on customer service and they leech off people who are desperate for fixes. Be smart and do NOT hire this company! They will take advantage of you and be condescending the entire time.

2 years later- still the same great service!  

Quality work, quick response, professional,  accommodating..... And most importantly the price is always fair.

BEST customer service and PRICE! Spoke to Rich in the morning and had a tech out same afternoon with a 2 hour window, not 4 hours like most companies.  Justin who arrived, was not only professional but was also very knowledgeable who also showed me a few things to keep in mind for potential future issues. I will definitely be using them again if needed and would HIGHLY recommend them to friends and family.   Thanks again guys!

I needed to replace my garbage disposal and Gabe flawlessly completed the job. He was available within 2 days and showed up right on time.

I want to say thanks to the Affordable Drain Service team, from the call center person to the scheduler all the way to Jose who was very professional and thorough in his job.  I called in at 7:15 am today and i was promised that a technician will show up between 9 and 11 today.  Jose showed up around 8:45 am and told me upfront the cost of opening the sewer line.  There was no gimmick and there was no need to even negotiate.  I thought it was fair.  He explained to me what was the problem and gave me some tips on how to avoid it in the future.  Thank you Jose very much for today's job.  Affordable Drain Service is my go to plumbing in the future.

Our toilet ended up clogging and we were hoping not to spend hundreds of dollars to get it fixed. I called and left a voicemail and Troy called me back within 10 minutes and gave me a very reasonable quote. He was here within an hour and explained that our toilet was a low end model (previous owners who flipped the house installed cheap model) anyways, he was so professional and courteous. Highly highly recommend!!! Thanks so much for not ripping me off and coming right away!!!

Professional, friendly, honest, skilled, and shockingly reasonable pricing. What more could you want from a plumber? Christian came to help us with a toilet problem within a few hours of reaching out. He's definitely our guy moving forward with any plumbing needs!

I'm happy to rate Above and Beyond but mostly to warn others. Here are the problems I have with their work:

I wasn't informed that I would need to have drywall repair work done after they replaced my shower unit.

They made a huge mess replacing the unit. It will take extensive drywall repairs. My contractor's first comment was Oh My God. When I told him that the work was completed in one day, he said, It looks like it.

They left a big mess in the driveway from digging up my yard.

The estimator (who could sell ice to an Eskimo) is quite charming and a good talker. Watch out for him. He'll give you estimates on things you didn't ask for.

When I asked Miguel if they had used the hydrojet on my kitchen line (which I was promised as a free perk) he never answered my question. He deflected by saying, the machine is here, isn't it?

And this is why I usually get more than one estimate. The only thing above and beyond about this company is their price.

Wow. I am so impressed. Due to a landscaping repair snafu, our back flow started gushing water at 5:20 p.m. And, this wasn't just a trickle, it was spraying and spilling over into the street, leaving us no choice but to turn the water to our house completely off. We have a large family and being without water for a full evening, night, and uncertainly into the next day is just a problem. We all know that needing emergency service after standard business hours is the worst case scenario and we are at the mercy of the experts who answer these after-hours calls. Well, Jeffrey answered the phone. He asked me to send pictures of the back flow and, 40 minutes later (30+ of which was pure drive time), he was at our house assessing the problem. He was polite. He was professional. He explained how the system worked and what can cause these problems. Most of all, he charged us a completely reasonable and fair price for his time and efforts - and he fixed it and did the basics to check its performance.

I asked him why his company didn't have many yelp reviews and he mentioned that they don't feel right soliciting reviews; customers should write what they want to write if they choose to - no dangled incentives or personal requests. That's honorable conduct so don't let the few reviews dissuade you.

I'm sorry that backflows are so rarely in need of repair or testing because  these guys are good, and I'd happily work with them again.
