I am a first-time home buyer and am getting my new place in order. Pablo from Red Lilly was friendly and remarkably efficient -- he replaced ageing drain pipes in both my bathroom and kitchen, replaced a dying garbage disposal, and replaced a noisy fill valve in the toilet, all in under an hour. What was really refreshing to me is that he didn't try to up-sell me on anything and gave me a model of garbage disposal that was appropriate to my household's needs. He also offered advice on installing a washing machine pan. I'm glad I went with Red Lilly.

They get 2 stars for completing an easy job to meet bare minimum expectations, but fall short in regard to customer service. There are enough negative reviews with this plumber to justify avoiding and plenty of other 5 star plumbers in the South Bay to go with instead.

Backstory:
I discovered a slow leak coming from under my sink that was going on long enough to cause some mold growth. I hired the first plumber that popped up on yelp without much research. 5 star average so what could go wrong?

So the plumber determines the leak to be coming from the angle stops and recommends a $300 replacement. This is pricier than average based on my past experience but i accepted it based on the necessity stop the leak immediately.  After replacement, he notices that the AC condensation tube hooked up to the drain is also leaking and offers to fix it, which I accepted.

Weeks later in the midst of professional mold remediation, I notice the same condensation tube leaking again. While it was obvious to me that it was improperly connected, I reached back out to sals to ask if someone could take a look. The receptionist I spoke with was very kind and explained that this kind of fix would come at another cost because it is outside of their 30 day policy. While I acknowledged I was just outside of 30 days, I still asked if they could consider this an exception based on the fact that it was improperly connected by their plumber. While speaking to the receptionist, some guy abruptly interrupts the call on speakerphone, without any introduction, who I can only assume was the manager/owner. With a rude and angry tone, this guy immediately deflects any ounce of accountability and blames the leak on the mold remediation process. As someone observing the process, it was obvious to me this wasn't the cause. Eventually, he reluctantly offered to send someone out. I later decided not to take up the offer because I went with another reputable plumbing business in Torrance to install new piping altogether for a larger bathroom renovation. A bigger potential job sals lost out on. And they competently fixed the AC tube issue that sals couldn't get right.

The main point here is that they disregard the value of the customer. This business operates on volume and not quality of service. If your policy is strictly 30 days, stick to that and respectfully decline any request to fix a mistake made on your end if it doesn't make the 30 day cutoff. No need to give the customer prideful attitude because of a mistake on your end. What matters more than a mistake made is the humility at which you resolve it. If you're reading this review as a potential customer, keep that in mind if they choose to respond to this review with more deflection.

I had a repair needed on my shower faucet that was above my pay grade. Definitely not something that was simple enough for me to do on my own (I soon realized as I observed the work being done). Not only were they quick to respond to my request for a quote, but I found their rates to be fair without overpricing while completing the job quickly and excellently. They were on time and did an overall great job. I would definitely recommend this business. Will call on them again next time I need this kind of work done.

Highly recommended plumber!  John is very reachable--he replied to my Yelp message almost immediately and we communicated further by text.  He has extremely flexible hours and repaired our leaky shower head within minutes with parts he already had on hand.  We will definitely be recommending John/Cali Rooter & Plumber to others in the area and using his services for years to come.

I have used David Wallace for a variety of plumbing jobs. Most recently, he installed two direct-vent gas heaters in my home. He responded immediately to my call, was polite, friendly, accommodating, and really smart! He is a natural with his hands, and most important, he uses his head too! I will continue to use him and recommend him to all my friends.

Great service and they offer super competitive pricing. Reilly always shows up on time, with a great attitude and is always willing to explain exactly what he's doing to a laymen like myself so that I can avoid the problem in the future.

They ended up replacing all the pipes below the floor of my old house.  They were quick, efficient and made sure to not dirty the place up while they did it. They're also always available and have even come back to do some small jobs free of charge because we've got a long standing relationship.

Couldn't recommend them enough. They really make you feel like they're not just trying to nickel and dime you. I've even had the owner of the company come out to inspect the work and introduce himself. 5 stars was a no brainer. They'd get 6 if yelp would allow it!

We had a blockage in our kitchen sink and they came and sorted it. Mario was very helpful and the price was reasonable. Would recommend and use again for any future plumbing needs.

I contacted Carrera's Plumbing and spoke with Paxton. I had a clog in my toilet that i could not get fixed myself. It was getting worse and water kept leaking out of the toilet and going into my carpet.  Within 20 minutes Paxton came over and fixed the problem quickly.  Paxton's response saved me because my carpet was also getting wet from all the plumbing and i had less damage from it. I would recommend Paxton you anyone. Thanks!!

We'd never had any plumbing issues before so when a toilet clogged up in our rental unit, I quickly searched online and called based on their availability and the great reviews -- and the reviews were not wrong! Ruben was prompt in scheduling to come the next day after I called, came during the agreed upon time frame, and unclogged the toilet incredibly fast! He didn't even charge us and I very much appreciate that kind of efficient service. For any future plumbing needs, we'll definitely reach out again. thanks again!

Update review on these, my GO TO plumbers. They are very busy for a reason. I am a single woman landlord and have been hustled , or attempted to be hustled by many. But never Mainline, who are  always honest and always trying to save me money.  I knew from 4 or 5 years ago from them and their last clean out of my 80 foot 4  inc house line , eventually I would have to address the 6 inch clay line from my sidewalk clean out to the city line.  But they looked at it maybe 5 years and said you can wait and did not press me for it.
So, This week a neighbor had to get an emergency replacement in the same length in the street because of very big roots. I asked if they had a time for an overdue camera check up on my line. Wow, root and breaks in line all along the camera feed. They just gave me a very reasonable rate as they are literally next door finishing another job. Yelp likes this other company too . I called Ranelle and told her the price and she said: Do it! We can't for that price right now, and most people can't. HOW HONEST IS THAT?? God looks over me , but so does Ranelle. This is a straight shooting company and I will call them back when I next need a clean out or other service. Trust them as I do. thank you.

Had an issue with a leaking pipe and been trying to get it fixed for a few days. Finally found Dave and he came out within in an hour and took care of it efficiently and quickly. He explained everything clearly and made sure I understood the pricing upfront. He also cleared a clog in the kitchen sink.
Definitely will contact Dave in the future and will recommend him to anybody that needs an honest and efficient plumber!

Once again I had a problem-this time it was the kitchen sink.  I called the office on Thursday asking for Monday appointment after 2pm.  I had to leave a message, but I got a return call and Monday late appointment.  Every part of John's business works like a charm.  It still has a wonderful small business feel with A++ service.  I even talked with John about the posibility of some future remodel work.  John is GREAT.  I would rather wait for John to be available then call any other plumber. Alex is a great plumber and a super nice guy! He shows up when he says he will, and has the tools and expertise to get the job done right and at a great price. We've been through a couple other plumbers since moving to Woodland Hills last year, but now we've found the company that we'll always reach out to going forward. Highly recommend.

We had a slow drain turn into a stopped drain and after having a friend plumber snake the drain for an hour to no avail, it was clear we had a grease problem.  I had Luis from Sal's come out for the completely plugged up pipe from the kitchen.  He offered to hydrojet it out, but noted that it was improperly installed.  I inspected and agreed.  We had all of the original drain pipes in the house replaced with plastic to the main, as the originals were over 100 years old.  This included removing and replacing about two square feet of concrete walkway next to the house, and opening up the foundation penetration for the drains.  I am very happy with the work, even though it kind of stings to spend money on something you shouldn't notice.  Luis is knowledgeable, hard working, and efficient.

I called all the plumbers in my neighborhood and no one would come help at 4pm in south Los Angeles while the water was gushing outside. Rodrigo said it'd be after hours price but he'll get right on it. Totally worth it, Thank you so much for saving us from insane water bills and for knowing exactly what the issue was!
