Called them twice- once for a water heater and once for a furnace. Same poor experience both times. Tech tries to up charge after two minutes of inspection. Enjoy my $89 site visit fee (twice) but will never do business with these guys again.

Had a furnace issue recently. They arrived promptly after my call, even though customer service couldn't guarantee a repairman arrival time. After arrival, I explained the problem and he glanced at the internal components of the furnace. He made a call and informed me it would be $1800 to fix the issue, consisting of a main board and fan, which are only sold as a kit. I didn't feel satisfied with the resolve and contacted another company for second opinion. They also said the same thing, just $50 cheaper.

After some research and online shopping, I found the parts for $560 and  replaced them myself.

They were professional and I understand everyone needs to make money to run a business, but the markup on parts seems steep to me.

Man, I wanted to like these guys...

My furnace is fine, but I just wanted to be preventative and have it checked over for peace of mind for the rest of winter. This was the week of the Polar Vortex. So, I called KB Complete to check it out.

KB comes out, and the first young tech was awesome. He did notice the CO levels on the exhaust were way high (500 when it should be under 100). Now, the CO inside the house was fine, it was just the exhaust vent. Still, a concern. He checked it all but thought it best to come back tomorrow with a supervisor. So KB comes back the next day with a supervisor and senior tech to see exactly WHY the levels were high. They said it's probably the heat exchanger (though the flame test was fine) but to clean it and diagnose it, it would cost so much I might as well buy a new furnace ($3500). Then they said they had to legally shut off my gas. If I turned it back on, it would be at my own risk of a deadly incident. So, I'm scared, but since the CO was good in the house and I have CO detectors, of course I turned it on. It's frickin' February!

So, I was bummed out, having to buy a new furnace.

I got 2 estimates for a new furnace and then called a third (Priced Right) for an estimate. They said, Honestly, I don't think anything is wrong with your furnace. He checked it over (just because he was there) and said he sees no indication of exchanger issues. He goes outside and noticed the exhaust vent was blowing right into the intake valve. I fixed the exhaust direction and he re-tested the CO levels and lo and behold, the CO levels were back to normal.

I really wanted to like KB but at best they missed something so simple like that, or worse, tried to take advantage of me.

EDIT: They also left a condensation hose disconnected and water was dripping down through and onto the floor, and my motor has been making a sound since they left.

My AC went out in June 2021. I called KB complete for a quote. They spent 4 hours taking measurements and talking price and schedule. I choose to replace the AC along with furnace because I was told it would be more efficient (probably not true.) The day comes for them to replace the furnace and AC unit and all of a sudden the furnace will not fit, and would not pass code.  The new furnace was a completely different size from the one I had. Then they start coming up with all sorts of really expensive solutions to getting the furnace installed.  One of their solutions was to put the furnace in the attic and would cost an additional $12,000. I would have told them to leave my property after that but I had to take into account that my mother was visiting from out of town.  I needed AC for her or send her back home early and the expenses associated with that. I asked if I tore out the walls on two sides, would they be able to fit the furnace in. They installed the furnace 4 days later, after I removed the two walls. They did not cause my AC to go out but they certainly saw their opportunity profit from it.

Called 30 minutes before arrival. Quickly diagnosed the issue with pipes. Wasn't anything big, but I'm glad that it was a small fix. Especially after this winter blast!  Chris was awesome, honest and a fair fee. Will do business again if I need!  Excellent!

Bought a Groupon for this firm which expired. Groupon says the value of the purchase should be good as a credit for work done, but KB won't accept it. I wouldn't trust this firm.

Grossly overpriced taking advantage of the consumer.  I am finding this is industry standard for most plumbers here in the metro area!!

So I was pretty disappointed with my second service. The first tech that came out on another project was great. He addressed my issue and was able to do a simple fix to my pipe and did not try to up charge any of the service. The second tech came when my wife was home. I had a simple heater maintenance done and he told my wife I had a small gas leak in the tee pipe and it would be $300 to repair it. Seriously?  To unscrew the pipes in the tee, retake it and screw it back together would take me 10 minutes. I really think he tried to take advantage of my wife since she was a woman. Shame on u KB. Not ethical. I will not be using KB again.

Public Service Announcement:

If you want to be completely screwed over by a plumber, use KB Complete. We hired them to take the hardware off of the old farmhouse sink in our house and the hardware off of the old claw foot bathtub in Cottage West to get them both refinished, and then to put the hardware back on.

They took the hardware off - first sending a guy to us as the last appointment of the day (you know, so I could listen to him bitch and whine about how long it was going to take while I was making dinner). He did the sink and the easy part of the bathtub hardware and was here from 4pm to 6:30.

The next morning he returned, did the bathtub, bitched some more, we had to get a supervisor to advise on how some of the parts coming off the tub had to get re-attached (or not), and it took around 1 1/2 hours.

They returned two days later and hooked the bathtub back up, but not the sink. The wall-mounted sink looks beautiful, by the way, (thank you Best Refinishers) but without hardware is completely unusable.

They charged our credit card $279 and $535 on 11/4 and 11/6. After I called no less than three times to find out how in the hell it could cost that much, I decided my husband should be calling them. After all, he handed the credit card over without asking what the deal was with the price. He called them too many times to count.

They finally credited us back $125 when he called them to tell them I was disputing both charges with our credit card company. In fact, I was on the phone with the credit card company at that very moment. Until then, they couldn't be bothered to answer exactly how they had charged us $814 for four hours of work and a couple of parts that didn't even match the oil-rubbed bronze the rest of the bathtub had.

Disappointed in their bait and switch tactics for $99 main line clean out.  Employee who came to do the work (Richard) was stellar, but he had to inform us the $99 deal is NOT a clean out, rather a basic inspection.

We called Paula at the main office to discuss what seemed to us like a rather deceptive practice and she was extremely unhelpful.

This is the 2nd time we have had this type of experience with KB  - previously they used a similar tactic on HVAC repair.  Not trying them again

I have used this company in the past and they were fine. Last week, however, my ac went out. As usual, I called this company. They sent out a guy who said the reason my ac didn't work was because the condenser was dirty. So he cleaned it. Ok . 196 dollars. That was it,he told me I was good to go. The next time it warmed up outside, turned on my AC. (this was one week later) called them again. Sent out another guy. This time the motor was bad. 900 dollars. ??Why didn't last weeks guy tell me the motor was bad? They only wanted to credit me my wasted 196 dollars if I put in a 900 dollar motor. I wanted to think about it and talk to my fiancé. I offered to pay the for the second service call 79. Since I wanted to think about whether to get a new motor or a whole new furnace~because my furnace is older. Instead of good customer service, crediting me for the wasted time and money last week (even though I was offering to pay a 79 dollar diagnostic) I had to listen to the owner lecture me about how a dirty filter puts strain on a furnace and might have caused my motor to go out after the fact. (after his guy cleaned it?) I don't need to beg for 196 dollars back nor do I need to hear a lecture about why they don't really owe it to me. NEXT.....
UPDATE: Ok well after I finished that review Karl, the owner called me back. He apologized and said he was refunding my money. He was very professional and explained that he is not in the business of making people mad and he was sorry. Honestly, that goes a very long way in my opinion. I am going to change my original one star to three stars. It takes a lot for an owner to make a personal phone call~ apologize~ and refund my money. Now if the refund actually shows up I will rate them even higher! Ha!

I've used KB Complete in the past for a one time plumbing and electrical. I signed up for a maintenance service for my furnace, where they come out and check everything out. I recently called them because my downstairs was not heating up. The service gentleman that came out pressed a button on my furnace and it started working again. He changed a part on the next furnace said it was going bad. The next day another gentleman came out to do maintenance since I was due for it. Later that Saturday evening no heat again. Sunday, Monday I debated if I should call them back or try someone else. I figured let me give them one more try again. A different servicemen came told me that we needed a new motor which why was this not shared with me on Friday when I had the part changed on the same motor. With his recommendation of this motor and cleaning it came out to be $1471.08. I was so pissed that this recommendation was not told to me the first time especially when I paid overtime for them to come out. I called the supervisor that day to explain to me why this was not caught the first time. She made it seemed as if it was my fault for reporting the wrong unit. I explained to her that was not the case both unit was looked at. I saw I was not getting anywhere. I called my BF to inform him of what was going on, he immediately called a Heating company J.B. & Son's he came out replaced the motor did my cleaning and changed the thermostat that was bad, which KB Complete missed. All for $650.00. I was shocked at the HUGE difference in prices. The motor was only $124.00 he said. Everything else was the labor and the thermostat. Then he educated me why the furnace was acting the way it did. The invoice that KB Complete left me with said the motor would be $924.00. I typically don't write reviews but I felt I was being taken advantage of. I called on KB because they are well known and figured you pay for quality. So I just saved $800 just by not using KB Complete.

I am kind of torn about whether to rate these guys a two or three stars.  On the one hand, the HVAC technician Robert, replaced the Hot Surface Ignitor, got the furnace started, and went through a series of diagnostics to determine why the old one (which was actually replaced last year by some hero company) burned out.  He stated that the furnace was going over its designed temperature gradient between the inlet and outlet air and that the air filter that I was using (a 1600 3M  filtrete) may not be allowing enough air into the furnace.  So he told me to go get a less expensive filter.  He left with the furnace working and we left to go to a dental appointment.

Fast forward about 2.5 hours and we come home to a house that was 80F +. The technician had left a jumper wire in the furnace that kept the furnace running.  I had to turn the switch off on the furnace.  KB Complete did call shortly after to tell me that yes they did leave the jump wire on and the tech would be back in an hour to take out the wire.  When he did come back and took out the wire, a new problem had arisen as the furnace would now not fire back on.  I had told the tech about a past problem with an old style flame sensor upfront during his repair of the ignitor, and now apparently it was causing problems again.  He had to make a few phone calls to check on how to repair this new problem and the answers/recommendations he gave me weren't great.  Spend a lot of money to get a conversion kit to get a newer style flame sensor with a new control board for the furnace, or spend a lot more money to get a new furnace.  To top it off, the conversion kit was not in stock in KC and the closest one was in Omaha so he couldn't fix it anyway that night.  (BTW, the hero company had quoted me a lower price for a conversion kit. )   These were the recommendations/options that the tech gave me before he drove off and my family and I were left for the night in a cold house.

When you are in a situation like this, it is best to consider all options and even get a second opinion and quote.  Needless to say we ended up replacing our furnace with someone else.  Now, I'm NOT saying  KB Complete was trying to bamboozle me, I just got a better offer.  As for their tech, I thought he did a mostly thorough job in his diagnostics, but he really goofed up when he left that jumper wire in the furnace.

One of the brackets (1 of 3) on the inducer motor broke causing a terrible noise. It was Saturday and I turned the power off and called KB Complete, as I had a friend recommend them that morning before all this happened. The sent Firl out on Monday, as it was not an emergency as I had another unit working.

When he arrived I showed him the problem and he confirmed the inducer motor needed replacing, but he also said the pressure switch needed to be replaced as well. He stated that the new motor would not work with the existing pressure switch. He went out to his truck to do an estimate and came back with a price higher than I expected. He had two options and as my friend was happy and I was considering a service plan anyway, as my unit is getting older, I was ok going with a service plan. The total came to $1238.00, with $368.00 of that for a two system plan.

Firl ordered the parts delivered while he took the old parts off which did not take long. It appears the parts were at two different warehouses and he sat in his truck for over an hour waiting for them to be delivered. Once they arrived he installed them and got the heat working again. He also mentioned he could replace my humidifier filters, they were not part of the service plan, and when he looked at them they were fine. However, he noticed the humidifier was not providing any water - even though the switch was operational. He mentioned that this could wait until the Fall when the service plan would inspect my unit. He suggested the first service be in the  Spring for the AC and the second next Fall so the renewal would not need to take place until 2017.

However, this is where I start to have concerns because he spent over an hour waiting in his truck when he could perhaps have been looking at my units - and perhaps discover and figure out why there was no water going to the humidifier. It also brought up his insistence that the pressure switch needed to be replaced even though it was working and had no problem. After he left I went online to do some research and found nothing to support that a functional pressure switch needed to be replaced when an inducer motor is replaced. My only reason why he would do this, aside perhaps from the obvious, was that KB Complete did not have the exact inducer motor and replaced it with another that required a different switch. If this was the case this should be explained to me - to give me the option of waiting for the exact one to be ordered and come in.

Based upon other peoples recommendation of KB Complete I'm starting to feel that perhaps I did not receive the same level of comfort in my decision to use them. Firl was a nice man but I think his decision to spend over an hour in the truck instead of looking closely at my units when he had the time was not the best choice. Because I now know I have dry air and paid $159.00 for a pressure switch that was not broken. I think perhaps canceling my $368.00 service plan may be something worth considering?

I just have to write again and tell you about the GREAT service we received from Randy Smith this month (Aug 2019)!  The pilot light in our water heater failed yesterday morning, and Randy was able to arrive on his service call by 12:45 pm.  He was very friendly and EXTREMELY knowledgeable about plumbing in general and water heaters in particular.  He did a great job diagnosing the problem, locating a replacement part (our water heater is 13 years old), and replacing the part.  We did not need to purchase a new water heater, which I really appreciate!

After replacing the part, Randy walked me through the procedure of flushing the water heater, and we talked about potential home improvements to minimize mineral deposits.

Randy was efficient, courteous, and very skilled in his work.  He even made friends with my two cats! :-)

Thanks also to Sarah and Jenny in Scheduling and Dispatch for their efforts to get us the absolute soonest appointment available.  (Two hours from phone call to service technician arrival; now THAT's service!!)

It's so good to have plumbers with such great expertise, and front-office staff who really care about getting our home back in working order as quickly as possible.  That's why we continue to be satisfied customers of KB Complete!

Get another estimate!!!!!!
A tenant of mine paid them to replace a sump pump, not knowing she was being ripped off.  KB Complete charged over 700.00 to install a cheap pump that costs a little over a 100.00.  Add a few dollars for the check valve and plastic pipe, and you have maybe 150.00 at retail.
This means they charge 250.00 an hour for labor!  All you do is glue a piece of plastic pipe together and plug it in......part of their time was waiting for someone to bring them the cheaper pump.
And on top of that they tried to get the tenant to install a much bigger and expensive one.
OUCH.....
When I called them they told me that was the sheet price for installing pump.
National average for professional plumbers is less than 400.00.
So warning:  get another bid.....

I get a chance to observe feedback from people about local KC area businesses a lot of the time, and the overwhelming best responses I notice from customers in the area of plumbing and hvac service companies have been for KB Complete. So when I recently purchased my own first house the end of last year, and came into my first plumbing issue, I decided to call KB Complete first. I don't know that they would have been the absolute cheapest from every other company, but they truly did the job right. The price I was charged was worth it for fixing the issue, and there was even a fairly large unforeseen issue that they discovered after starting the job that they decided to not charge me to fix when they justifiably could have. This summer when my a/c wouldn't work I decided to continue with my gut feeling about them and called KB Complete back out. They didn't disappoint, and not only is my a/c running great on these blisteringly hot days, I now have a service plan with them so I know I don't have to worry about my furnace this winter either! Every tech I have personally interacted/spoken with has truly shown a good attitude and come off as genuinely good neighbor guys. Jim, Bill, Jeff (and I'm sure I'm missing some) are always a pleasure to work with.

I contacted KB Complete about doing some work on some outlets that the fuses were blowing rather quickly. The tech told me my whole fuse box needed to be replaced for a price well north of $500. I asked him if just replacing the fuses for those specific outlets would suffice and he said yes, but he didn't have them on his truck. He would get back to me when he got them. Still waiting 5 months later and he didn't;t even fix all the outlets that I requested. I will not use in th future.

We've been using KB Complete for over 15 years and we have never been disappointed with their service. Clint Ballard was our HVAC tech that came out today and KB Complete should feel very fortunate to have this great guy working for them. Personable, honest, and a great sense of humor. It's obvious he loves working with his customers because it shows in his sincere interaction with you. Thanks KB Complete but; more importantly - thank you Clint!!!

The worst experience I have ever had with any home services company. Our attic fan stopped working and thus we needed someone to come take a look at it.  The technician came and within 5 minutes diagnosed that we would need an entirely new fan...fine.  He left a bill for $109 for a diagnostic fee(for that 5 minute stop) and said he would be back with me early next week.  10 days went by and nothing.  I assumed they were ordering the fan etc.  I called in myself and was told no ticket was open and nothing had been done.  They transferred me to a Service Manager, Roger.  He apologized that there had been no follow up, no ticket opened and that nothing at all had been done. He assured me he would follow up personally the following Tuesday(Monday being Labor Day).  Today is Wednesday, no call. I called in again and asked to speak with him...he explained that he asked someone to call me yesterday. Obviously, that didn't happen.  All of this being bad enough, Roger never once offered any recourse.  Not even a, hey, I will get right on this, get the new fan priced, knock a $100 bucks off..nothing.  Needless to say, I won't ever use KB again and would recommend you don't either.

My wife and I have nothing but good things to say about KB.  After discovering our furnace was in need of some serious help, we contacted our usual heating & cooling company to check it out.  Suddenly we had problems that they had not said anything about on previous routine service visits and wanted to sell us a new furnace plus a new coolant coil.  We decided to get a second opinion.  The bottom line is we were safer going with a new furnace rather than trying to repair the one we had (only 9 years old), and with KB we had several models to choose from as opposed to the only one brand that our previous service company had recommended.  Also, the KB serviceman did not think we needed to automatically replace the coil.  So, ~$3000 later, we have a brand new furnace.  But, we greatly appreciate the time that KB took to check things out and explain the pluses and minuses of every option.  And the installation did not take near as long as we all thought it would.  Many thanks, and we will now be using KB for our heating and cooling needs.

As a new customer, my experience with KB Plumbing Heating and Cooling was extremely disappointing. I had scheduled a service appointment with them, but was shocked when they called me back to inform me that they were removing my scheduled date and placing me on standby until further notice because they had other customers that needed more attention than me. This lack of consideration and disregard for my time clearly demonstrated that their customer service needs a lot of improvement.

I was left with the impression that the only thing that matters to KB Plumbing Heating and Cooling is catering to high-paying customers, and they do not prioritize the needs of new or smaller clients. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and does not foster a healthy business relationship.

Due to the poor customer service experience I had with KB Plumbing Heating and Cooling, I decided to take my business elsewhere. I found another company that was eager to provide me with the services I needed, and I am happy to say that they treated me with respect and professionalism.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend KB Plumbing Heating and Cooling based on my experience as a new customer. Their disregard for my time and the lack of customer service demonstrated to me that they need to improve their approach to customer care

Way overpriced and undependable!  -  Called at 6:15am when my furnace went out and received a call back at 6:45am (before business hours). I was informed I would receive a call within the hour to give me an ETA and that I was #1 on the list. Great so far....that's when things went sour.  2.5 hours later I got a call saying Ollie would be here in 10-15 minutes. He showed up (smelling of smoke and booze) and told me what the problem was and it would be approx. $500 to fix it. He went to his truck to write it up. While he was out I called another HVAC contractor who quoted me a price for the exact same service for more than $200 less. I told Ollie I would pay his trip charge and would have someone else do the job. He proceeded to charge me another $40 for diagnostic work. I paid the trip charge only and sent him on his way.

I hired KB Complete to come out and fix my furnace. They did an okay job and got it running again for an okay price. As part of the fix I purchased a tune up for my AC's to happen this spring. When the spring tune up happened the tech found a whole list of things he said were wrong with my units. I was surprised there were so many things wrong and he said they were urgent fixes, specifically saying that my AC wouldn't be running in two weeks. I called around and checked the prices he quoted. They were about double for adding R-22 coolant as an example. I refused the fixes, called another company and had them come out later in the day. They said my units were fine and not in need of any fixes at all. KC Complete was just trying to sell things that weren't needed in order to pad the bill.

I have used KB Complete about 4 times but after being charged $439.00 for a 15 minute job to add a small piece of copper on my pipe and screw on a bath tub faucet, I will not use them again. I was told I was charged so much because they sent a truck full of equipment with a qualified plumber. Then on top of that they charged me twice for the job. This is not how you do business and keep customers. Eventually it will catch up with you.

Female friend of ours had KB Complete out to estimate some work.
1.  Replace toilet shut off valve. Was told that it was stuck and inoperable.
2.  Same toilet.  Replace fill valve and flapper.  See #1.   Must replace shut off valve in order to replace guts of toilet.
3. Replace cartridge on a different toilet. Sloan Flushmate.
4. Clear clogged bathtub drain.

Bid over $900 for the above work.

A.  Shut off valve operated as designed.  Did not need to be replaced.
B.  Fill valve and flapper parts at local plumbing supply less than $20.00
C. Flushmate cartridge, duckbill valve parts less than $50.00 @local plumbing supply house.
D. Bathtub drain not clogged.  Simple adjustment of the trip/waste mechanism took care of the problem.

Q. Was this woman taken advantage of?

Q. Was the salesperson fundamentally incorrect in his skills diagnosing the problem?  Assumptions made with highest profit in mind?

Q. Is the price of these plumbing repairs justified in todays market?  Overhead, Markup and Profit.  ?

I encourage everyone to get second estimates and opinions before engaging a contractor.

For this guy.  I would never use nor recommend KB Complete.

A/C went out on one of the hottest days this year and Bill from K B came to our rescue. He cleaned and repaired our Amana unit and was the nicest southern man with his yes, mam references.  Happy that our A/C was repaired quickly and we had a great service man. Thanks Bill!

I never write reviews on anything non-restaurant on Yelp but it's time to.

I live in San Diego but have a rental property in Overland Park.  There was a water-related matter that could have been A/C-related or plumbing-related or both.  Sooooooo...I took a chance on a new vendor that provides both.

Glad I did!

Marcus was able to find both an A/C condensation hose kinked as well as a drain problem in the basement.  Combined, they were contributing to water pooling up.  More importantly, he was professional, courteous, and quick.

They'll get the next call.

(Hey, why doesn't Marcus have a photo here?  :)

Called for a diagnostic and told them not to do any work without speaking to me first. They worked on it anyway, told me it was a loose wire and the problem was fixed. Charged $125 to tighten a loose wire.

Was told there was no fire hazard. The problem was not fixed and the blower motor continued short-cycling, trying to turn on unsuccessfully and turn off. Had them come out again. This time they said the motor was over amping and it had a bad capacitor. Technician said replacing the capacitor should fix the starting problem. He wanted $368 to replace the capacitor. It is an $8 part from Arrow Cold Control. It took 30 minutes to get the part and bring it home. It then took 5 minutes to change the capacitor myself.

Thinking I could trust the technicians diagnostic and knowledge, believing there was no risk of fire and the problem was solved I went to work the next day.
Came home to a loud constant humming and a weird smell in the house. Went into the basement to find the unit smoking, burning hot and the smell of melting plastic and metal.

Had them come out again. They offered to replace the motor and capacitor (both offered at Arrow Cold Control brand new for $200 & $8 respectively) for $2,000 and refused to refund the $125 fee for fixing the unit by tightening a loose wire the first time they came.

They are arrogant and incompetent glorified parts changers. Oh we'll replace this and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't then we'll replace this too. Take your business somewhere else.

Complete scam. Was quoted $1900 to essentially fix a clogged pipe. Called a local company for a second opinion, and they were able to open and clear the drain for just a service fee. Will NEVER be calling KB Complete again and will make sure everyone with similar issues avoids them, as well.

Had my annual air conditioner maintenance service today.  My technician, Alex, provided excellent service.  He was here on time, provided the service quickly but thoroughly and was respectful of my home--always putting on booties before he entered the house. He was a pleasure to deal with. We have been customers of KB Complete for years and continue to be pleased with all of their staff.

So, they have a deal... $189 to do PM's on your equipment. Not included in the deal is the trip charge or the diagnostic charge. $138 in charges above the $189 deal. Oh yeah and they tell you this story about R10 being very expensive because it is being phased out hundreds of dollars they say. Call them on it and expose this assertion and they will reduce the charge.

No thanks, call someone else. That is what we are doing.

KB Complete did a spectacular job on our HVAC system, and has come out for various plumbing jobs. I'm torn because I like the company and we've hired them-- but I won't use their electrical department again. I was strung along for weeks on a solar panel quote, all while there was a pretty hazardous situation going on in my attic wiring. Luckily I moved on quickly and another local electrician fixed the dangerous state of the attic. It was more than just a bit of knob and tube-- it was every cable spiced together and the caps falling off. So, maybe just stick to what you know. Or simply quote to fix the immediate dangers that your customers have, instead of just saying we needed a whole home rewire and leaving.

Work was completed in an acceptable manner however prices quoted for
additional potential work were outrageous!!  Install a new toilet... starting @ $1000.00?? Really? Install new water valve for humidifier.. $295.00?? WOW.
(parts for that would have been $12.00 for the valve) Just a heads up that their
price ARE NOT competitive whatsoever.. Additional work/contracts were pushed
quite hard. Shop around..

Our AC wasn't working right so we called KB Complete to come look at it. It was our furnace that was the issue. The tech said that it needed a new blower motor and memory module and that it was going to cost us over $3500 for these two parts so we might as well get a new furnace for $4500. We called two other companies for a second opinion and they both trouble shooted with the actual manufacturer and both companies said all our furnace needed was a $16 part, which we had one of the companies replace and our furnace is working good as new (why KB complete didn't trouble shoot with the manufacturer to figure this out is beyond me). KB also charged us over $1000 for their visit because he replaced two things that were supposedly not working, but that didn't fix our furnace and then the manager didn't want to refund us because we were going to get a new furnace with them and those parts would have been useless for our non working furnace that needed to be replaced. Also trouble shooting with the manufacturer is not how they do business. They clearly were trying to take advantage of us and they are in the sales business, not the fix your furnace/AC business to save you money and have repeat customers business.

I would highly recommend KB Complete for your household needs.  I have used their service for several years both for maintenance and replacement with heating, air conditioning and fireplace/plumbing.   They are are very professional in their interactions, service and follow up.  All of the service technicians have been very personable and professional.
My latest service was for annual check up of the furnace done by Brian C.  Great job KB, a great investment in quality service.

I'm extremely upset-

I bought our whole heating and cooling units from them about 7 years ago. Paid about $6k. I've never had an issue until today. I called back in May to get the AC tuned up. They said July 15th (today). It was 2 months away but fine. I get a voicemail at 12:18pm telling me that they are short technicians due to Covid and they'll have to reschedule me. Calling the day of really made me mad because we rearranged our schedules to make sure one of us could be at the house. Then I call and they tell me August 11th. So it's going to take 3 months from when I first called to finally get it serviced. Did I get an apology or someone of discount for the inconvenience? NOPE! I promise my next AC and/heating unit will NOT be purchased through them!

Our AC went out again, and it's an old(er) unit which we run pretty hard, so I figured it was the capacitor again.  I was busy out of town for work and my wife saw their commercial on TV so she called.   Here's the long and short of our unfortunate experience:

The company we used to replace the capacitor the last time charged just over $100.  (We forgot their name or else we'd have just used them again!)

KB Complete charged us -  get this -  $324.   Let's break that down:

$69 just to come to the house.   Let me say that again:  $69 just to show up.  Interesting.   Aren't you supposed to show up....  as...  You know...  Part of your job?

Now, an A/C capacitor costs tops $50.  It just takes forever for us non-certified folks to get our fingers on 'em, which is why we call the experts for this stuff.

So,  $324 Total    -   $69  Trip fee     -   $50 capacitor leaves $204.

This is where it gets good.  Changing the capacitor takes approximately.... Oh...   15 minutes.    30 minutes if you're really slow, or drunk.   I'll give 'em the benefit of the doubt on this one.   We'll say 30 minutes.

That's $400 PER HOUR for labor.

So..    The work was done.  We have A/C again.  But we're out $324 for a fix that a reasonable company should have done for around half.

Let's review what KB complete charged again:

$69 for just showing up.
$400 per hour for labor.

I'm glad to hear the rest of these sheep loved the service they received.  Maybe our guy -  Alex was his name -  was a real sweetheart.  He probably rescues puppies and kisses babies and all that.   But for $400 per hour and $69 just to show up?   Must be Italian...

I wanted to say something nice.   Because the service tech that came out was friendly and found the issue of a loose wire.    But $180 seems very proud for 15 minutes of diagnosis and 1/8 of a turn of a screw driver.

It fixed the issue and I am grateful but surprised by the pricing schedule.

$90 to knock on your door.  Another $90 if you want them to see what might be wrong.

They offered a free electrical inspection but given their pricing structure, I couldn't afford their work if they found something wrong.

This company is a total rip-off.  We called them on a holiday weekend and agreed to the holiday service charge @$129, only to find out that that included the call itself, no services whatsoever were included.  To snake the drain, Dennis wanted to charge an additional $180.  This is usually a $120 job, period as the service call usually includes the first hour of work.  I will never ever call them again and urge others to beware and not fall into their trap.

KB Complete has been doing my service for three years. They are always professional and prompt.  I have never had to have them come back for a second look at a repair. However, once my current service contract is up i think I'll try someone else for a few years. Even though they've been to my house about 10 times they still find something new to fix that wasn't originally the problem. There is always something new that isn't up to code and it is always something that costs about $500.  The last item I fixed with $20 in materials from Home Depot and took me about 30 minutes.  I need someone I can really trust. If all these things were not up to code when I bought the house, why didn't they point them out the last three times they inspected?  Either someone is missing something which isn't good or someone is playing games which also isn't good.

Great service.  I called them and set an appointment for a drain reaming a week in advance and requested that I be their first stop for the day, since I had to then go on to work.  They called me the morning of the appointment about an hour before it was supposed to happen and asked if the guy could come out earlier than 8:00.  Um, YEAH!  Guy showed up, kind, courteous, and DONE in less than an hour.  Very pleased with KB and will recommend them to everyone.

I called to have a main line clean-out and run the camera - it was their advertised 99.00 special.  But 3 hours later - I was told the service was more than double (since they found so many roots - well, yeah - that's why I needed the clean-out)  If they are going to advertise a special for cleaning out the main line, then they should stick by their advertised price and not upcharge because it was more work.  I was also told after the clean-out, that I needed a complete new sewer line to the tune of 12,000.  The 'tech' that was running the camera showed up late - almost an hour and a half after the other guy who was ontime.  We stood around waiting on him because the guy cleaning the line wanted to camera it first to find the clog ----total time was about 3 hours.   When camera guy finally shows he ran the camera so fast after the cleanout, that it was hard to actually SEE if there were sufficient issues to warrant a complete line replacement.  He kept telling me there were multiple offsets (there were) and cracks (I didn't see those) he also told me it was broken at the tap (I didn't see any break there either).  Sooooo  I am going to see if KB Complete will do the right thing and send a more knowledgeable tech out to re-camera and see if indeed I do need a whole new line, or just needed it cleaned. The tech they sent out was more of just a salesman who quoted an outrageous price.  I thought I was paying for a professional that wasn't trying to sell me something, but rather provide a service.  There are plenty of 'Big Guys' out there that will offer a bait and switch.  I - I didn't expect it yesterday from KB...  I am a bit disappointed so far - let's see if they make it right.

We've had a terrible experience with this company. They sold us a larger more expensive AC last fall and this spring after three service visits it was determined they set it up wrong. Our AC was running day and night and we have a $300 ac bill. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. The installers are clueless.

Update - the supervisor called and sent us a refund and has made a very strong effort to correct their mistakes. I have to say I was really surprised at how helpful they we're. This time they treated us well.

I wish there is less than one star to give it to this company. After I contacted the company to come and check the flushing system that has been broken down, they first came in after one week. A guy came in played with it for a few minutes then said 'all done, it's working fine'. Before he has stepped out for 5 steps, we tried it. It was far from fixed! then we called him back, was angry as if we are accusing him of something like inefficient (we didn't)! He then decided it needs a replacement and told us before leaving: 'I'll see what I can do about it'? We never heard from him again. After a couple of days, I called the company back, a lady replied and said we made an order for a new part and it's going to take a week. A week came and a second and nothing was heard from them. Every time I call, a lady apologies for that and promises to leave a message to someone. Simply said it's inefficient company and have serious issues with customer communications. I blame  it on the construction company Careys for contracting them in the first place. It's a new home if you want to know more and you'ed expect better quality thatn that.

I wanted to try something different when I was at my parent's house as the same LBA guy I felt was kind of a ripoff. I would recommend not to go this route, and instead stick with your regular air conditioning and heating guy.

We called KB Complete and the people on the phone were extremely nice, and they stated that it would be $69 to come out and look at the furnace.

When the technician arrived, the technician was not very friendly or very professional. After looking around for ten minutes the technician stated that the blower motor needed to be replaced and it would be almost $1000 to replace it.
As we thought this was outrageously priced, we told him that we'd just pay the $69.

The technician stated that it was a $69 fee to come out and then a $69 diagnostic fee. This fee felt like it was made up by the technician since there was no indication on the phone.  This is when we all get upset and state that it is a scam to not be upfront with this cost. The only saving grace and the only reason I've added a star is because the supervisor decided to waive all the charges.

I still think that a very clear cut system, even on the phone with a representative or even advertising it on the truck with a set price. A price that wasn't fixed was the only reason for the amount of questions.

After it was all said and done, we hired another furnace guy. He replaced just the capacitor to the blower motor, which the previous technician ruled out. Funny how it costed about $600 less than what the KB Complete technician quoted us.

I've used KB Complete several times over the years and have been happy with their service.  Their employees are always friendly and professional.  Recently, the condenser fan motor in my AC unit failed.  This is a common problem in AC units, and easy to fix.  I called KB Complete, and requested someone come out and replace the condenser fan motor.  I looked up the part, and it can be purchased for $125 from multiple dealers.  The technician came out and offered to replace the condenser fan motor for, get this, $1086.  My jaw hit the ground.  $1086 to replace a $125 part and 15 minutes worth of work.  I refused the service and called two other AC contractors in the area who both characterized KB Complete's bid as grossly excessive.  I hired a different contractor, and he charged me $395 (parts/labor/1 year warranty).  In my opinion, this is price gouging, clear and simple.  What really goats me is that 1.) I still had to pay KB complete $89 for a trip fee and another $80 diagnostic fee (I already diagnosed the issue).  I paid $169 to KB Complete for nothing except for KB Complete to attempt to price gouge me.  2.) A company's credibility is really important to me.  That is why I started doing business with KB Complete in the first place.  I feel my trust in KB Complete has been violated, and I am shocked and appalled - price gouging like this should be illegal.  I obviously will not be using them in the future.

I read the reviews on the Nextdoor site and many had nice things to say about KB Complete so when our air went out last week I called my husband and he said to call them. We knew the unit was old and the furnace was even older but when Chris showed up at my house he never removed a tool from his truck. He looked at the AC Unit, used a pen to spin the blades and commented that they didn't move as well as they should and looked at the furnace next and said old, some rust, but said it was bad, he could replace the motor in the AC Unit at $800 and another $850 for the fan motor on the furnace but why when they were so old. So I agreed to have a comfort care specialist come out for an estimate to replace both. Asked what I owed and he said $169 for the service call, no tools, no immediate help. Asked if they would apply to the replacement and was told he didn't know but probably. Said sometimes there are specials, buy a AC/Furnace and get a hot water heater free. Firl came out later that night and said same, both need to be replaced said it would be $18,000 - $19,000 to replace both...yikes...no specials and no they would not apply the $169 to this...and no immediate help right now and to call after we had Asbestos removed!!
Had another company come out and guess what, both need to be replaced but under $6,000 and they were able to replace the capacitor, put thermostat on fan, and we had air all weekend long!! Said it might not last but what amazing customer service!! No additional charge for them getting us up and running due to the weather conditions!!
No question on the replacing the units just where is the customer service KB Complete?? What did I get for that $169??

I am very disappointed in the service of KB Complete as they are just awful to deal with and quite unprofessional.. I ordered a NEW furnace and AC unit (thousand of dollars each) and 3 days after they installed the new units I had water pouring all over the basement. I was absolutely in shock and had it out with the service manager.  They came back an apparently had not hooked the new units up correctly !! I was worried they had damaged the new units and low and behold my AC went out this week although it had only been 3 years since KB INCOMPLETE installed new ones.  I called to have them come out and fix and they said they are not willing to work on their equipment at my home and to call someone else after my calls to service manager after faulty installation. I WOULD NEVER CALL OR USE THIS COMPANY !!! BEWARE !!!

Had these folks out Dec 2014 for a misbehaving furnace.  They told us we weren't getting the right fresh air for intake into the furnace, and failing to have it would cause the sensors to short and the furnace to overheat and blow the motor.  For a hefty price they put in venting to the outside.

This fall, the furnace was acting up again.  Had a different company out.  They said the furnace is overheating and the vent pipe was the wrong size.  It requires 3 pipe and KB put in a 2 pipe, even though the manufacturer specifically states in the specs it is 3.  Called KB back and shared this information.

They sent someone out.  After looking at the furnace, they refused to replace the pipe.  The guy said the problem was now the motor (despite the fact they acknowledged the pipe was the wrong size and was the root problem).  Said they would not install the correct size pipe like they should have in the first place, but they were happy to replace the motor for $1800.  We politely told them to go away.  We called the office directly and were given the same response.

We hired a family owned company to come out and replace the motor, sensor, replace some valves, replace the pipe with the correct size and give us a warranty on the labor.  All for under $800.

I am amazed a company with such a large presence in the area would treat established customers so poorly, but with 2 different HVAC companies certifying the problem is in the pipe, we have no choice to conclude KB is a company that fails to stand behind their work and does not conduct the due diligence expected by people who are experts in the field.

My air conditioner broke down on a very hot and humid July day which made the temperature in my house quickly soar to 92 degrees. Two techs came out later in the morning and told me they fixed it with a small new part and said the house would cool down in a few hours.  Eight very hot, miserable hours later, the house did not cool down.  I had to call them again to come back out.  This time the tech didn't arrive until 9 pm.  It turns out an additional repair was needed, adding a few pounds of very overpriced refrigerant.  The first techs never even checked that.   I will definitely not use this company again as I feel they should have checked something that simple the first time they came out.  All total, it cost me nearly $700 and they didn't apologize for not fixing it right the first time.

I was charged for 3 hours of labor. I was with technician when he wasn't in his truck making phone calls for guidance a little over an hour on and off. The troubleshooting and work performed could have been done in less then 2 hours. I shouldn't have had to pay extra for an inexperienced technician.

On November 20th I had KB Complete come out to give me an estimate because my shower downstairs had cold water but not hot water. There was no leaking. Also, the pop-up drain in my Home Depot vanity upstairs was leaking and was stuck in the open position. Nick came out, I told him I had looked up the drain for my fancy vanity and there were three sizes he had to take it out and measure the hole in the glass bowl to find the correct size of the drain. He did not do that. He told me it would be 1222.00 we asked for both because I told him that was all I could afford at the time. I said because I can wash my hands in the kitchen if I have to. He said, yes for both. I said OK and it was scheduled for Dec 2nd.
On December 2nd Nick came back and started working on my sink, while he waited for someone to come out to help with the shower downstairs. He told me they gave him the wrong size drain, I have to leave and come back. I said I told you to measure the bowl for the correct size when you were here the last time. Now you have to come back again? He said I will be right back; I'm still waiting on the other guy. He did make it back in about an hour and the other guy was right behind him. They went right downstairs. With a few issues, they finished up down there and got everything working. Then he came up and replaced the drain in my sink. Then he came to me and told me he was done, and took me into the bathroom, and showed me the drain. It does not pop-up, it does not even close. He said Home Depot did not have the correct kind and he will have to order me the correct kind. Then he said the price was 1515.00 I said you told us it was 1222.00 He said that was for the basement only. My son-in-law and I both said that is not what you told us when you were here. He said well I sent you an estimate with that price. I said I did not get an estimate from you. He said I emailed it to you, I said I did not get anything from you, so he sent it to me again. It did not come from KB Complete, it came from Successware21. Since this was not from KB Complete it went to my SPAM filter and never made it to my email. I paid the bill, I should not have but I did.
I waited over a week and never heard back from Nick but I got an email asking me how my appointment went and I said it was not good. I was told to call, so I did and I was told by the lady that answered the phone that Nick's supervisor would call me. Rusty did call me and listened to what happened. He told me that they have their meetings on Thursday's and he would discuss this issue with Nick, the office staff about why the email came from Sucessware21, and the owner about why I was charged a different amount than what I was told.
I did not hear back from him so on December 14th I called Rusty and was told Nick had done the estimate incorrectly on the IPad that's why it came from Sucessware21, he said it took him and the office staff hours to figure that out. He said Nick had ordered the correct part but that he ordered it in the wrong way not on a PO so Home Depot could not find the order. I am still waiting for the correct drain, ANY response from the owner as to why I was told one price and charged 293.00 more frankly anything from this incompetent company.

We have had numerous heating, cooling and plumbing companies in our home of the last 16 years. KB Complete starting servicing our HVAC about 3 years ago. Every change of season we have a tech service and maintain our furnace and A/C unit. They cover their feet, always polite and we won't be using anyone else. We trust that they won't over charge us on things that don't necessarily need to be done. (Like their competition has attempted to do with us) I highly recommend KB Complete!! THEY'RE THE BEST!!

UPDATE: KB Plumbing did come out and fix the issue by noon that day.

You come out to fix an issue and then state there is a problem with garbage disposal...then you put disposal on...then the next day water is all over the floor...and then I call to have you all come out and address issue and you say it will be between 9 and 5...you all messed up and now you want me to wait around 8 hours for someone to come out...ok...I will just call every 30 minutes until someone comes...bad enough the guy didn't verify his work was correct and then be like I can only give a 9 to 5 window...also you guys were not my choice nor was I at home to ensure you did your job correctly nor do I believe the disposal was a problem it only became an i$$ue for you all

The response time was great and the plumber did a good job. The only complaint is it cost $700 for a $350 job so very expensive. They charge not by the hour but by a predetermined price sheet, so if they do any thing other than what they came out for the price almost doubles. Plumber was here 2 hrs and parts cost less than a $100, but charged $720 which includes $89 trip charge. Great company for emergencies but be prepared to pay.

Some of the worst customer service I've ever received.  I was a loyal KB Complete customer (Annual Maintenance Package, New Water Heater, Replacement parts for AC/Furnace, etc.) up until this week.

If you don't want to read all of the details below, here is a quick summary.  KB Complete showed no enthusiasm or motivation to help us replace our AC system in a timely manner, leaving me and my family with no A/C on 95 degree days for 7 days straight (would have been 9 days or more if I didn't engage another contractor).  I left multiple voicemails with supervisors and sales managers to no avail.  I highly recommend you avoid doing business with this operation.

Our A/C unit was old and we knew it was just a matter of time before it kicked the bucket.  That day came on Friday, 6/29.  We called KB Complete to come out and fix the unit on Saturday.  They quickly arrived that afternoon and advised us that the unit had a small issue (Capacitor), which would cost about $200 to fix and the unit should be up and running.  I had asked the question if it made sense to do this as a band-aid until we could fix the unit and the answer was yes.  About 20 minutes later, the technician came back and said that the relay needed to be replaced, which would be an additional $300.  It was also advised that we should renew our maintenance program ($189 Annually) to receive some discounts on the parts.  So, sitting at $700 and we'll have a working A/C - the technician said we should be good to go and this would hold over until we're ready to replace the unit.

Fast forward 3 days, and my wife and I come home to a house with an internal temperature of 85 degrees.  I check the system and sure enough it's frozen solid, producing no cold air whatsoever.  After jumping on the phone with a very nice customer service representative at KB Complete around 5:00 that evening, I was told that a supervisor would be in touch very shortly.  I was optimistic.  The next day around Noon, I call back as I hadn't heard anything and ask for a supervisor.  I leave another voicemail.  I finally get a call the next day around 4:30 PM - keep in mind this has now been 48 hours since the unit has broken.  I was told at that point that they were likely willing to help me out and take that $500 out of the purchase price of a new unit and could probably get it done within the next few days.  I was then told that I should be hearing from the Sales Manager shortly.  Now being 3 days of no A/C, I call KB again... leaving a VM with the Sales Manager and finally receive a call around 1:00 in the afternoon on Friday.  I was told that he would be sending a quote to my email with details of the cost of the new unit.  No email.  I call back on Monday morning (5 days of no AC now - average temperature of 95 degrees on those days) and get a call back saying that they sent the quote and it must not have gone through and also the earliest they could install the system would be Thursday (9 days after the original outage).  So, they re-sent to a different email and I received the quote immediately.  The quote I received was handwritten with no information or details on the pricing, warranties, taxes, rebates, etc.  I send an email back within 15 minutes with about 8 questions.

At this point, I engage a competitor which I should have done a week ago, but, because I'm a loyal customer and was hoping to reap some of the $700 in costs back from KB, I had hesitated.

It's now Tuesday afternoon (7 Days in) and just now received an update from them on my questions about the quote and apologizing for the delay.  Worth noting... they have agreed to refund the maintenance package charge of $189.

Price gouging at its best. Quoted $500 to replace a $100 sump pump. Took me an hour. Just ridiculous. They will no longer have my maintenance contract for HVAC and my furnace. The guy that came to my house was rude when I questioned the price and asked for a parts and labor breakdown. He said its priced as a task. Why wouldn't they show you what your paying for?  Because they are gouging people. I'm a project manager for a local construction company. Their way of doing business is criminal

We had a new unit put in by KB 3 years ago and we stuck with them, but recently started to have doubts for using them ever again. A service fee I'm ok with but a diagnostic fee for what you know already is a little ridiculous, and then get this we had a technician come out and service our unit couple of days ago and told me everything was good but something that he call a Voltage  Absorber System is gonna need replace and that they can do it for about 800 today of course we didn't get done and the next day the unit stop working. So checking around town and asking friends and family, come to find out that it was the capacitor, 30-100 dollar piece and done in 15 mins or so. I was just awed and lost all respect for this company to try and take advantage of us and rip us off during a hot hot day

Made an appointment for Wednesday of last week for an estimate, which they cancelled. We re-scheduled for 3:00 the following week (today).

I arrived at my home at 2:55, and looked at my phone while I waited. I had a message from Don Geary in which he stated he had just driven 40 minutes to meet me at the house and I had not shown so he was leaving this message for me...... The message was left at 2:45.

So, I promptly called him back,  and Don did not answer his phone. I stated on his voice mail that I was sitting in my driveway for my 3:00 appointment. And I also said that if he had arrived early or thought I was delayed, that he should have attempted to called me and see what my status was. And how I was fairly disgusted that he blew me off for the second time.

Then, right after I had returned to work, I had another message on my phone (I had been away from my desk) that stated he had arrived at 2:20 for a 2:30 appointment according to his calendar, and he left at 2:45. I again asked why he didn't call me to see if I was available. He asked if I would like him to come back out and have a look, but I told him that he had already burned his bridge and he could just kiss my butt.

Hope you have better luck with them. I had two other contractors scheduled for estimates that showed up promptly and were very friendly.

I sometimes hesitate to give a glowing review of anything based on just one experience. Now, after calling KB for several different needs, I can safely say they deserve highest marks.

Experience 1: Christmas Eve, 2011. We woke up to a freezing house. Furnace had stopped overnight, and the fix-it job a friend had done a few days earlier had failed. After calling several companies who told me they were short staffed b/c it was Christmas Eve AND it would cost extra on a holiday, I got to the Ks in the phone book and called KB. They said they could have someone right out and it wouldn't be any different charge. The tech diagnosed the real problem, and went right to work. I'm sure he'd rather be home with family, but was polite and gave no impression that we had inconvenienced him. We purchased the annual service plan based on our impression of him and the company.

Experience 2: Summer, 2012. A/C maintenance check as part of the service plan. They showed up on time (they actually gave us a window of time within an hour or two, not between 8 and 5). Again, courteous technician, in and out with no problems.

Experience 3: December 2012. Furnace maintenance check as part of the service plan. The tech explained what he checked (in easy-to-understand terms), and then we discussed an issue with the humidifier. He suggested a few alternatives; we ultimately decided to purchase a new humidifier unit which was a little more, but the first cheaper alternative didn't fix it and the price rolled into the ultimate fix. He didn't have a unit and had another job, but the office staff quickly scheduled another tech to come a few hours later. He just completed it, fair price, and within the time they promised. Additionally, he fixed a few other cosmetic things (replaced plastic tube for the floor drain, etc). Nothing I'd asked for, but appreciated that he noticed the little things and made them better.

The office staff has been very friendly and accommodating. The techs call when they're on their way, and always within the hour or two window the office gave me for a schedule. They are great about answering my dumb questions and ensure I understand. They take special care to protect the flooring by wearing shoe covers and laying down sheets over the carpet. Again, it's the little things.

got scammed, ripped off by 4 cooling repair services KB was the last... I reported one to the BBB and it's still in contention. Anyway KB repairman charged our HVAC with R22 but despite a leak he found. He didn't search near the compressor in the outdoor unit, only found what he called a small leak near the furnace evaporator coil. Then he claimed it can't be fixed, you'll have to get a new furnace, when he knew you can fix leaks and/or replace the A coil/evaporator coil. So against EPA regulations all of these criminals including KB Complete they ignored the leak and offered R22 charging... knowing it would leak out. It's not good to breath R22, it's stupid to charge a system you know is leaking and just leave knowing it's leaking. Completely unethical. The guy told me the first pound of R22 is free but later he charged of for all 3 pounds he claims he put in, he never showed me the results of his scale etc. In short we paid $466 for apparently 3 pounds of R22 and him telling us to upgrade in the future, no attempt to pinpoint the leaking refrigerant at all, no actual repair occurred. The do not deserve to be called a 'repair' company if they charge you $466 and leave a HVAC leaking and unrepaired.

Credit where its due. We had a tech out who misdiagnosed an Ac problem. After a couple conversations, the service manager came out, found the actual problem, fixed it on the spot, and didn't try to hide it. We would have preferred not cooking for those couple extra days, but mistakes happen. Nice to see a service company doing business the right way.

I purchased  a new HVAC unit with KB Complete. To get my energy rebate  from kcpl KB Complete  had to come back and do a reading on my unit. Not once but twice they canceled my appointment  without  even a phone call. I had to call them because  no one showed  up. The second  time this happened  they realized that if they did not do the check the same day that I would not get the rebate. They gave me another  appointment  same day however  up to four hours later. I would not recommend  this company  to anyone.  I spent a lot of money only to have no one show up and bad service.

Clint was very kind & professional. He came out for a typical checkup & took the time to fix our messed up humidifier. I would recommend him to friends & family.

I have done business with K B Complete over the years. I have been more happy than unhappy with their service over the years. I needed to replace my HVAC, so I called to set up an appointment. That went well, set for 9:00 with a reminder call 30 minutes before. The day of the appointment, about 9:30, no call no show, so I called the company. They said that they will check it out and call me back. I immediately received a call from the sales rep who said that he stopped by an installation to make sure everything was going well. He said that he is on his way, I said, on you way? When will you get here, he said 10:30' maybe 10:00. I said do not bother. I call the company to let them know their short falls. An HVAC system is a major investment. Before you even have the job, you no show and no call the appointment, what does that say about the future work, quality of the equipment, and how the company stands behind their work.

Its been more years than I can count since I first did business with KB Complete.  Each and every time, it has been a good experience.  Quality work, knowlegeable employees...that have all worked there for years, professional office staff, and an owner that truly knows how to build and run a successful business.

I know this company is staying busy because every time I'm out drivng around Johnson County I see their trucks.

Arrived on time. Very professional, I felt like they were here to help not take advantage of my lack of AC knowledge!

I had KB Complete install a new heating/AC system 3 years ago without any problems. Just this month the system started freezing outside at the base. I shut the system off to avoid any further complications. The technician arrived, handed me his card and promptly accusingly asked if my filter is dirty. My filter was clean because I religiously change it monthly and hose down the outside system when it needs it. He tested the system for freon and said it was low. He looked further and said a coil was bad. He then promptly said they don't have to honor my warranty if I don't take care of my system. At this point it started to get ugly. I reiterated to him I change my filter monthly and make sure all my coils are clean and perfectly straight just as I bought it and that's all I can do. He said I should be paying the $189 every few months for someone to come out and make sure system is working. I don't know about you but I don't pay $200 every few months when my system is blowing cold air and working. So he wrote up a bill and added the $69 service fee and another $69 for something else I wasn't sure about and added $189 for the preventive maintenance guy to come every few months and $740 in labor to put in coil and some other fees and taxes. I told him this was too much for labor and how could I get the warranted parts and have a cheaper person install. He insisted paying this was only way. I refused to pay for all this and just wanted to pay the $69 service call. He was mad and got in his truck and drove off. I called his supervisor whom he already called and he was rude to me from the beginning saying his technician told him I was being rude to him! I am highly educated and non-argumentative by nature, but this guy was RUDE. Bottom line is the customer service at KB Complete is horrendous. STAY AWAY!

KB Complete has an ad on bott radio if you mention this ad you're supposed to save the trip charge.  I mentioned this ad and asked for a complete check of my brand new furnace and air conditioner because I was suspect of another companys install.
They charged my wiife (I'm at work) $63 to run water on the compressor to cool it (my hose my water) $182 to run AC and adjust refrigerant $16 to remove refrigerant and $89 for the trip fee that I should have saved totaling $350. The technician called me and said my system was good.  I turn on my furnace last night and it doesn't work. I called them back and they deny that I asked for my furnace to be checked. They just ignore my request for an explanation by repeating would you like a $99 furnace tuneup? I asked if she could do that today and she said it would be December 1 more than five weeks later .
My experience was overcharged, under serviced, and poor customer service. You could hear in her voice that she did not care about my situation.  I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I made a Yelp account just so I could write this review. I will never use this company again. Originally I called due to my AC unit freezing up. My thermostat is on the top floor and the air flow isn't great up there so its always hot. Causing my AC to run constantly. I figured I probably needed more Freon or there was an obstruction in my vent restricting the air flow.

After the technician showed up and I explained the situation he said my unit is probably frozen (which I already told him it was). I had started defrosting my unit roughly two hours prior to his arrival. He told me, to speed up the process, I should turn my furnace on. Which I did, I, ME. Which helped.

They charged me $170 (AFTER discount) to defrost my unit which (again) I had started to do two hours prior and he did absolutely nothing to defrost it. They charged me $128 PER POUND for Freon which you can buy a 10LB tank for $180. Which means they charge SEVEN times the cost. Not including the cost to actually put the Freon in the system which is a whopping $91 (AFTER discount). They also charged $189 (AFTER discount) for a $50 can of easy seal that I NEVER saw him put in my unit. That's all the discount price if you purchase the yearly member plan.

In summation their prices are OUTLANDISH and downright CRIMINAL. I talked to my uncle they day after who is an heating and cooler technician himself. He's had his own business for over 30 years in Sedalia, MO (Diamond W). I showed him my receipt and explained the entire situation and he would have charged $300 for EVERYTHING. I made a HUGE mistake calling this terrible company to begin with. I honestly don't know how they sleep at night knowing they are straight ROBBING people.

NEVER NEVER NEVER go with KB Complete. They are criminals.

I've read reviews in other places and here on Yelp, but I'm going to be a voice of harmonious dissent. I have used KB Complete for four years now and have had nothing but success. I initially used them when I first bought this home in 2015 because the AC went out two weeks after move in (yeah, heart attack). But the issue was just a switch that was burned out, and $79 later I was chilling again.

Full disclosure: I have a Trane that was clearly installed when the house was built (like 2001), so you know it's getting up there in years and mileage. I think furnaces and AC units age in dog years, so this unit is seriously on the fringes of old age. But it's still pushing out cool air in the Kansas summers and keeps me and the young'uns warm through these polar vortexes (vortices?) and bomb cyclones of winter.

My concern is how much life the Trane has left, because who likes a furnace replacement bill? The technicians at KB are always *exceptionally* polite, thorough, and listen to my concerns. I didn't go to HVAC school, so my understanding of climate control systems begins and ends with the on/off switch. But the KB techs keep my system running nicely, and they have never tried to sell or upsell me on services that they didn't deem essential. Even that initial visit wasn't an opportunity for a price gouge, just a simple electrical repair that the tech fixed quickly and it's never been an issue since. They clean the systems, test and explain electrical thresholds (such as how a fan motor rated for 1.3 amps is pushing....1.3 amps), and rinse out my coil outside. Top-notch!

KB Complete also helps set themselves apart with their total cycle of communications. I set my appointments, the tech calls when en route (you can opt in for text messages), they're on site and prepared, from tools to booties, and they walk through the service on their tablet after you're complete. You get an invoice emailed to you and a survey, all of which is personalized and updated for you, not something generic. The KB staff is on the same page, and that means a lot. I don't have to haggle with a tech about my appointment time, wait around, or explain a system issue to a non-technical person. Details matter, people, and KB Complete is knocking it out.

A service contract has run me $189 a year, which affords me a service call in the spring and one in the fall. Parts and labor for repairs are of course separate, but a service call for a tech for just about anything runs you $80-$100, and that's just for a specialist to come to your home! I like
the peace of mind that the service contract gives me and it has not gone up in price in three years! Winning!

So say a prayer for my Trane to keep on pumping out cool air, and give KB Complete my thanks for all they do.
