LOL of course our furnace went out on the coldest night of the year. I knew it as soon as I woke up and my hands were icicles but it was confirmed when my husband got up before me and texted heat's out from downstairs. I remembered Hutzel serviced our furnace previously so we gave them a call.

Since it was so cold out I anticipated a long day of space heaters and blankets but Jalen called us back almost right away. He added us to his list of repairs for the day and, luckily it was an easy fix (I now know what a thermocouple is!) and we had heat again less than 3 hours after waking and realizing it was out. Very impressive!

Jalen was friendly, COVID careful, and speedy. We still had to pay an emergency fee for a weekend visit but it was worth it. Our furnace needs to be replaced soon and when that time comes we'll definitely be calling them again!

Have a service contract. took days to come out. Excuses after excuses why they can't honor the contract.
Told me over the phone I needed new equipment.
I asked if they would like to look at it 1st. I do have a service contract, could you come out and not tell me to diagnose the issue?
Said they can't fix the issue, after being at the house for 10 minutes, saying again wanted to sell me new equipment instead. New equipment I would pay for, service I would not.
Interesting,  same exact word the other guy said.
I ended up hiring someone else to fix it.  Even though I have a current service contract with Hutzel.
Got a bill from Hutzel for a service call, even though I had a service contract. Excuses again on why i owe it, why it is not covered by the contract.
seriously guys, a service call, where you did no work is not covered under your service contract.
The contract was a total waste of money.
throughout this week's adventure of being jerked around,  every phone call i made to them. Everyone I talked to said they just got hired, then told me I had to talk to someone else, who was not there.
maybe all the new staff is why they don't know how to fix it.
They also tried to sell me a new service contract.

We had a great experience with Hutzel Emergency furnace repair.  Response was quick.  Jalen was quick, answered our questions and was very conscientious. We appreciated him wearing a mask since we have an immunocomprimised family member.
This is definitely a service you never want to call but if you have too I definitely give them a thumbs up.

Steer clear! Nightmare! Purchased new heating system along with water heater in March 2020. Used it a short time and then it was off due to warm  weather. In November it broke. Disrespectful Mike came out and fixed it. They tried to charge, a lot, for the fix. I did call and got it waved. Less than a year later it broke again. Mike came, guessing at problem, ordered a part. We waited several weeks but the part came and was installed. Charged $400. Now it's making a loud strange noise when it cycles that was not there  before. Will be calling again unfortunately.

The service was fine - the billing was not.  They charge travel time but don't mention that anywhere.  When I called to complain about the bill (had to call twice to get a call back) I was told that *I* was being unreasonable for not just paying $180+ for travel time to a city that the website says they service.  Can't recommend and I will go elsewhere in the future.

Hutzel to me, will always be the gold standard for plumbing service in Ann Arbor.  Are they the cheapest?  Probably not.  They are, however, the most responsive and technically proficient of any in their industry.

If you want emergency or at a minimum, prompter service, this is your first call.  Their techs are pretty much tried and true with a ton of experience, they get the job done incredibly quickly and their craftsmanship is superior.  I highly recommend them!

HORRIBLE. This is the first service I've used bad enough to prompt me bothering to post a frank, terrible review.

I called to have a broken shower handle fixed. When the service person arrived he suggested that I order a particular faucet cartridge online to save money vs Hutzel doing so, which I appreciated, though Hutzel may not.

I ordered this part for a grand total of $76.86. When the service person attempted to install this part on his second visit, he dropped one of the four cartridge base plate screws into the faucet fixture hole where it could not be retrieved. THEN he discovered that he had suggested the wrong cartridge, and I found out that my $76.86 had been wasted!

I then had to research and order the correct cartridge. Rather than await a 3rd fateful visit, I was able to install the correct cartridge myself and notified Hutzel Plumbing that no further visits were needed.

I did not receive a bill for the 2 short, futile visits (for $215!) until months later and assumed it was automatically generated by mistake since nothing was fixed by them and I incurred the expense of the wrongly recommended part. I politely explained the above by email to Hutzel's treasurer, and offered to pay a fair, reduced sum, factoring in my wasted money on the wrong part, my wasted time way from work, and the fact that Hutzel fixed NOTHING for me.

The treasurer proceeded with collections and legal threats, which I don't think will turn out in their favor given the clear facts of the matter.

Buyer beware!

We have been using them for 20 years. We have found them to be very costly and they have to come out multiple times to solve the same problem , charging us separately for each time. They just didn't know how to fix it so they kept coming back and charging us again. I am so fed up with Hutzel. I recommend anyone over them. Some of the people who work for them are very nice, but That is meaningless if they don't know what they're doing. A young man came out to reinstall the furnace after a flood and couldn't figure out how to reconnect our thermostat to the furnace. They sent another professional out to fix what he couldn't and charged us for a whole other service call two days later, when they should've fixed it the first time. Apparently, this is how they roll. We've given them 20 years and I think that is more than enough.

Came in to inspect boiler, left ten minutes later saying i need a new one. Of course they bill me $131.06 to have this man out for ten minutes. I had a rep out of theirs as well to quote for a new boiler install, a woman who clearly doesn't know much about hydronic heating. They quoted over $9000 to install a non condensing non modulating boiler i could buy for $2500 and didn't plan on replacing much else besides the chimney liner. The system was heavily fouled, and would no doubt have ended up ruining the new boiler prematurely. The company doesn't seem too professional imo and is clearly profiteering as my estimate for their profit for my boiler install exceeds $5000, or roughly 50 percent of the purchase price

Here is another story to add. Back from 2011-2014 i worked in a house in ann arbor that had 50 women living in it. It was heated by boiler heat(this is how i learned of hutzel). Their install of 2 mod con boilers was so poor that they required nearly daily restarting due to one fault or another. Looking back, it would seem it was all installed improperly and not to manufacturers specifications. Leading to some very unhappy girls with no showers. I would avoid hutzel like the plague unless you are just having some drain pipe etc removed and dont want to do it yourself. STAY AWAY FROM THEIR BOILER WORK

Forget the years in business as this is under newer ownership . I'd ,also, pass on the company .  Four install deal made with elderly father and have had problems now with all four of them ... all stupid stuff like putting the vents on the drive side of the house when could have been put elsewhere where no danger of getting hit by a vehicle ...

Hutzel Plumbing just fixed a leaky toilet at my house.  They were on- time, professional, efficient, nice, tidy and wore a mask.  Hutzel has been here a few times this year - once when we had a broken main water valve to the house!  They have really helped us and my husband and I are big fans of Hutzel.  Thank you.   Andrea and Bob

I've had very positive experiences with Hutzel. We've recently been trying to purchase a home, and as such, have had to get some contractor's quotes for repairs to heating and cooling systems, ductwork, etc.  Scott and Nancy (the owners) really know their stuff, and have been a pleasure to deal with.

When they realized that we were under a quick time line to remove our most recent contractor's contingency (after our initial home inspection revealed some plumbing and HVAC problems) they eeked out a special spot for us in their schedule.

If they do work for us in/on the new home, even if it's just maintenance, I'll be sure to update, but as things stand now, I couldn't ask for a better, more responsive team to work with!

My hot water heater went out over the 2nd weekend in Jan 2020 and I was desperate for a plumber.  Hutzel was available to come out, assess the issue and return the next day for the repairs.  I was prepared to write a check but was told I would be billed.  That bill didn't show up until the 2nd weekend in February - due 5 days later.  On top of that I felt I was over charged for time.  When I called to speak to them about this, I was told I was probably billed for time in their shop to fill out warranty paper and to exchange the part?  WHAT?  I've never been billed for service outside of my residence.  They were trying to justify that 2 hours billed for the 1 hour of work at my condo.  I'm sorry.  Nothing was explained to me about how they bill and I've never had a company bill in this manner.  Usually I pay at the time of service - when parts and time are clear.  To bill me a month later and without the ability to challenge them - well let's just next time I'll take cold showers until I can get a different plumber in.  I will NOT be recommending this company nor will I be using them again.

I booked someone to come do maintenance on our radiators and boiler. They gave me a 4 hour window, so I took half a day off work. They didn't come. When I called the office, they said that the worker had to take the day off work, and no one had thought to call me. I asked if they could come on a weekend on an evening so I didn't have to take more time off work, and they said no. I tried to book something at 8am but they couldn't accommodate the days that worked for me. They were not apologetic.

We moved into a house that had an old furnace and then soon had problems so we replaced the furnace with a nice, new Amana furnace paying over 7k for it. We immediately had problems as the furnace would not produce heat and the company that installed it went out of business and had no company to honor repairs. We tried several local companies, we thought Hutzel, a popular name in Ann Arbor might be able to resolve the problem. We were wrong. They insisted they were too busy during regular business hours but we were freezing and took what they would give. They charged premium hours and never fixed the problem at all. They wanted over a thousand and our same problems continued...no heat. We didn't want to pay them as they did nothing to help but they were very aggressive, they pushed threats, collection agencies, small claims court actions, they did not solve our issue one iota. They want money for doing nothing for us. I would avoid this company.

We have used Hutzel for sump pump repair, heater repair and now new air conditioner.  Everytime I call I get same day service which is great when your heater isn't working during a 10 snow storm.  They came out in the bad weather and fixed my problem within 2 hours.

Bad business practices!  They sent out a plan in promotional mail for, among other things, one-time air conditioning inspection for $105.  I called and mentioned the plan and the dispatcher scheduled an appointment.  After the services rendered, I get a bill for double the amount.  When I call to complain, they say you have to submit payment prior to services rendered to get the 'discount'.  Even if not per se fraud since the fine-print says you have to mail in the check, it is clearly misleading as they are being sent in promotional advertising campaign.  The dispatcher should have mentioned that I would not receive the advertising price, and in fact, i would be charged double!  This gives you a feel for their business culture.

If I could give 0 stars I would. They came out to fix a plugged up drain. Spent about 10 minutes at my house and said sorry I can't fix this you should call MI power rodding then a week later sent me a bill for $111. I'm never using them again.

INCOMPETENT BULLIES.

I give them a 1 because I cannot find the zero!  This happened about 10 years ago, but they sent a man to work on my furnace. First, the man entered my house with his muddy boots on, tracked them across my floors, went to the basement, declared that I needed a new boiler that he guessed would run about $5,000, packed up, came up from basement, tracked back across my floors and left. Fifteen minutes!

About 2 days later, another man called to schedule my new boiler installation! I was gobsmacked, told him I'd get a second opinion. A few days later came the bill -- for the service call + a full hour of work. I called and said I'd pay for the service call plus the 15 minutes, but not for a full hour.

NO! No way! The guy says. The entire amount of I'll send this to a collection agency.

Send away, I answered. Sure enough, he sent it to collection, collection sent the bill to me, I responded with the full story, told them of my willingness  to pay for service received and no more.

End of story. Never heard another word from the collection agency or Hutzel's.

But the bitter taste of incompetent bullies never left me.

Would give zero if I could. Hutzel failed on multiple levels: on-site execution, diagnosis, follow-up, parts management, billing, and overall management. 6 weeks without a shower and, in the end, they call to ask the manufacturing year of the shower hardware. Here are the details:
* One visit for diagnosis
* Another visit to replace, but failed b/c he determined the handle was frozen (wrong, another company determined he hadn't loosened the screw securing the handle, they got it off in less than a minutes)
* 8 days passed with no contact, I called, explained we had an upcoming vacation, and asked for a scheduling call. None received.
* We went on vacation.
* Still no call on scheduling. I called and was told that another part was needed and it would take 7 -10 more days.
* A few days later I called to ask them for the part number so I could order the think online and was told it had arrived and the plumber would be out in two days between 12 and 2. I explained that I had a business call at 2 and would not be able to let him in if her arrived after the promised window.
* He didn't arrive on time. At 2:12, I had to step away from my business call to answer a call from Hutzel to say there was confusion on whether their team had the right parts. He wanted to know what year my shower hardware was manufactured.
* Net: six full weeks without the shower. Two visits. Misdiagnosis of frozen handle. Multiple promised return calls not made. One missed visit. Multiple confused calls about parts.
* I fired them in April and mailed a letter to management (no e-mail addresses on their site).
* In September I get a bill for over $200 for the two failed visits. I call and leave a lengthy message because the two billing people are out. No reply.
* In October, I get another bill with late payment charges. I call and am told the billing person is out. I ask to speak to management and get voicemail. I leave another message.

I decided at that point that a Yelp review had been earned.

Hutzel has saved my bottom many times. Specifically with a failed sump pump at 2 in the morning on a Saturday night. Sure that was drastic. But they've been 100% with other run of the mill plumbing and heating and cooling issues. Both in my old 1920's house and in my newer house which recently had a water heater go out. Face it- there's a reason why this company has been around since the late 1800's. They know their stuff.

We have used Hutzel Plumbing for over 30 years and had good service.  However, their customer service has deteriorated considerably since at least 2007.  After ordering a new toilet for installation and providing all necessary details, I heard nothing from them for nearly two weeks and learned that no action had been taken on this order.  In calling about the status of this order, I was repeatedly referred to individuals who seemed either to know nothing about this transaction or who gave me conflicting information.  Communication with them was very confusing and generally unprofessional.  It was as though they were uninterested in providing the service I requested.  I will no longer do business with this company.  Like other reviewers, I would give a zero rating if I could.

We moved here from NC 2 yrs ago and took over a house whose owner used Hutzel to repair their HVAC and perform tune up. We decided to continue them for the following year cause of consistency. The tune up was satisfactorily completed. However, their work is messy and usually don't clean up well. Second, in 2 years, we've used them for both sump pump replacement and two calls for HVAC issue. This last one call to replace a motor unit on one of our HVAC units was the end of it. After paying them over $600 for the replacement of a motor. Two weeks later in the middle of winter with freezing pipes, the system failed. When called, they wanted to come 2-3 days later, but managed to plea with them. they sent someone within 24 hrs. The tech found out that the failure was due to snow stucked in the outlet pipe outside and it took him less than 2 mins to clean it. He billed us $180 and documented that he spent 45 mins working on it. This fee includes $45 trip charge.
Apparently, i made a visit to their office to speak with the service supervisor. It's very disorganized and messy. Anyway, he looked at our current and previous accounts before demanding for full pymt despite our history of service with them and the discrepancy of info between us and the tech. the supervisor also noted that the trip charge applies once the tech is on the way regardless if working on same street. Now, what a rip-off!!!!!!!!!
I left the office feeling extremely disappointed and used. Please avoid them and there are better and more professional companies that value customer service as #1 priority.

We had a terrible experience with one of their plumbers after being a customer for many years, mostly using their heating professionals for our boilers. They failed to fix the problem, actually misdiagnosed it, and then sent us a bill for $276.00. The problem was simple: a newly installed Kohler toilet was leaking (less than a year old), apparently from the base where it attached to the floor. I have replaced toilet innards before myself but I was concerned it was installed incorrectly at the floor connection (by a contractor who refurbished the bathroom) and thought that would be beyond my ability (plus it was new and I normally wrangle old toilets). The plumber first said he could not find any leak and was going to leave without repairing the toilet. Then my spouse put his finger in the water where it was leaking and pointed it out to him. The plumber looked further and concluded that it was leaking from the connection from the bowl to the tank and said that the entire tank had to be replaced because it was all one piece and could not be detached because of the type of model toilet I had purchased (the plumber now declared it was leaking like crazy). That the tank could not be attached seemed odd to me so I contacted Kohler (who are terrific) and they assured me it could indeed be detached, sent me the info on where & how it could be detached and sent the gasket (for free under warranty) which they expected to be the problem if that area was the source of the leak. By the time I finished, the plumber had left the house and I spoke to a manager at Hutzel, who now said that yes, the tank could be detached but the plumber did not have the right tool with him (totally different story). He also contacted Kohler directly which caused Kohler to send the plastic piece above the gasket as well (for free under warranty).

When the parts arrived, I called another plumbing company because I had no confidence that Hutzel could handle this simple problem. The other plumbing company installed the new parts but the ones removed appeared fine and he tightened the base to floor bolts/connections since he thought that was the actual cause of the leak. He charged me $115.00.

Now Hutzel has sent a bill for $276.00 when they failed to fix the problem, misdiagnosed, and sent a plumber without the skill and/or tools to fix the problem.

(There was also a misunderstanding that when my husband booked the repair, he asked if they would carry in a washing machine we had purchased used and install it in the basement. At the time my spouse booked it, he conveyed to me that they said yes, but there would be a small extra charge. But when the plumber arrived he said no way, and the person booking the appointment denied saying that when I called to check.  I know my spouse did not imagine it, so I assume that the person booking the appointment thought it was such a ridiculous idea (as the plumber who arrived did) that he said it sarcastically and my spouse did not catch the sarcasm. However, they denied they said it at all and I am certain my spouse is not prone to hearing things that are not actually said. And so the appointment started with both my spouse annoyed that they weren't going to install the washing machine and the plumber annoyed because my spouse expected it to be done per his conversation with the office. None of this justifies the plumber not doing the toilet repair properly).

No one there would admit one mistake made here and if they wanted to retain our business, they would have done so and not charged us more than double what we paid for a real, professional repair.

Make sure you keep close watch on the time the tech spends at your home versus what they charge. Just got off the phone, and argued that the tech did not record his time properly, therefore charge me appropriately. You shouldn't belittle and hassle people about their queries when you can't call me back at all. Be respectful since you are in the service industry, so act like it. I will not be calling Hutzel for anything ever...

I'm definitely on the Hutzel has saved my butt a couple times bandwagon.  The times I've needed them, they've done a pretty good job of getting there in a reasonable amount of time, and have gotten things fixed pretty quickly.

Price?  Didn't seem like I got taken, but then again, when your basement is full of water, how much are YOU willing to pay? ;)

Overall, I've had good experiences, and would definitely recommend them.

This is a unreasonable company.

I just had my work done. The contractor charged me 2 hours and 2 minutes. In their calculation, it charges me 2 hours and 15 minutes. I also looked at my time, it was under 2 hours, including going to get the part, and out of door, and stay in his truck.
I called in twice to ask them to talk to the worker. They never did, and believe the worker charged me correctly by 2 minutes.

Remember to write down your time when the contractor come in, and write down the time when he go out of your door.

I will not recommend this company.

Just got gouged on a plumbing job! I should have known when I asked him as he was leaving for the bill and he said that Hutzel would send one later. Fortunately I had phone records that proved they (it took 2 plumbers for the job) were here for one 1 hour and I got charged for 2 hours (total of 4 hours -2 for each plumber)! When I called and complained they said that it took a half of an hour each to get ready for the job and a half an hour each to put everything away. They were not sitting in my driveway for a half an hour! I gave them an opportunity to make it right and they didn't.  Won't be using them for anything in the future.

I was wary to call Hutzel because of the poor reviews on here but they installed my thermostat years ago and so I decided to try them anyhow when it stopped working (after my uncle shut it off to change my furnace filter). First of all, the guy that answered the phone on Thursday accessed my records and got the detail on my thermostat and tried to help me over the phone to save me needing a service call. It didn't work out but he tried and he got me someone to come next day rather than a Monday appointment. Then the repairman came and within just a few minutes discovered the trouble and resolved it. I'm only getting charged for the service call and 15 minutes of time. It couldn't have been a better experience.

I used Hutzel twice in the past with no significant problems (although they were a bit pricey). However, I recently called them about a leaking hot water heater. The receptionist put me through to somebody's voicemail. I left a detailed message and repeated my number to make sure it was clear. My call was NEVER returned so I took my business elsewhere and I will never call them again. Too bad, so sad, call your dad!

Have been a customer of Hutzel's for 20 years.  I was told my heat exchanger failed pressure test and they recommended a new furnace from them for $4,000.  I called another company and had one installed for much less, only to find out later the heat exchanger was fine.  I did not need a new furnace.  Instead of doing the right thing for a cusomer of 20 years an taking responsibility for the written statement of my needing a new furnace, I was forced to take them to small claims.
I will never use them again and advise anyone using them to get a second opinion before making large investments.

Hutzel did a great job with a complicated hot-water boiler replacement in our 100+ year old home.  Barb came to the house multiple times to assess the situation and gave us a fair and competitive bid.  John and Don did excellent work and were responsive to all of concerns and questions.  In fact, everyone we dealt with at Hutzel went over and above to give the best possible service and end result.

My concern here is what I consider to be an outrageous bill.  The qualify of the work was fine.  I have a normal mom and pop shop plumber I usually use, but he was unavailable, so I called Hutzel simply because one sees their trucks all over the place.  To put it simply, the plumber was here a little over an hour, and the labor portion of the bill was $265 (on top of part's costs that were about 5 times what the parts cost at Home Depot).  This job cost well over twice what I would have paid with my normal small shop plumber.  As I said the quality of the work was fine (it was a pretty simply re-connection of a cooper plumbing line) but I was stunned when I got the final bill.  I called to complain but was basically told that's the price.  Caveat emptor.

I've had two bad experiences with Hutzel and will not use them again.

First, when I bought my new house, the inspector made some recommendations so I called Hutzel to get a quote. Instead of even quoting me on the work I was interested in, they spent the entire time trying to sell me on a new furnace and quoted me twice what I ended up paying another company for the same exact furnace model.

Second, our water heater's flame kept going out so I called the manufacturer and they recommended Hutzel as one of their certified contractors. So I called Hutzel and had them come look at it - the guy spent maybe a half hour and said it was the ventilation and to call the company that installed my furnace. I had them come look at the ventilation and water heater and they actually did some testing and found out it was the gas valve not the ventilation and fixed it (the flame hasn't gone out since!). Additionally, the inspector had recommended a new gas line for our dryer so I figured while Hutzel was out they could replace it for us. The testing they did during their first visit and misdiagnosis of our water heater problem plus the replaced gas line ended up costing $570. The hours they spent working on this were way overestimated and I feel this cost is very extreme for the actual time spent and work done and the fact that he incorrectly diagnosed the problem. Save your money and go with someone else who can do the job correctly!!

The first time they came to my house, within 15 minutes, he said the garbage disposal/dishwasher problem was fixed.  It was not.  They came out 2 more times and stayed total of not even 20 minutes and insisted it was fixed.  It was not, they really didn't do anything and then I disputed the $267 bill.  Now they are sending me to collections for service that was not completed!  I had to call a different company who fixed it the first time and I gladly paid them!

Furnace went out in early March at 3pm.  I called them and  tech arrived at 5:30.  Furnace fixed within 30 minutes: nice, but $195/hr labor is outrageous.  Next time I'll look around.

Be careful with them and always get a second opinion! After renovating the basement we found a leaking boiler pipe. We called up Hutzel to quote it. First of all they are not very reliable. The first appointment they missed. The second appointment somebody came out and told me since he doesn't know where the next pipe connection piece is he has to open up the drywall. We just renovated that basement, so I asked him if it was really necessary. He repeated himself and quoted the whole job as a whole day worth of work for 1500$. I got nothing in writing. Later Hutzel called to schedule an appointment to do the job. I said I want a written quote first. They said he cannot give me a written quote based on the information their guy left, so they have to send out another guy to quote it! I suggested they should figure it out internally and don't make me take a third day off work just for getting a quote from Hutzel. We scheduled a repair date, but they wanted to get back to me to confirm times. They never did. Meanwhile we got another company out. They found the connection piece - it was not behind the drywall, but absolutely visible in the middle of the room. They replaced the pipe without any damage to walls or ceiling in 2 hours for 600$. Never trust Hutzel!

Good service but expensive!  We had two leaks that needed to be fixed.  I was happy with how quickly they were able to come service, however was shocked when I received the bill.  Maybe this is standard but the guy was here for 30 minutes tops and i got charged for the trip AND an hour of labor.  While the work was good I think next time when we don't have a pressing issue we will go with another plumber.

We had a plumbing issue at our house.  A guy came and roughly quoted a fare of around $500.  Didn't think it was reasonable and ended up finding somebody else to get the job done for $320.  Still had to pay for the service trip, but I'm glad that I chose another company.  Will never try Hutzel again!

My AC quit last night during a huge heat wave.  I called expecting to see someone in a couple of days.  Walt who is great was out at noon and gone in on half hour with the problem completely fixed.  They are the premier plumbing, heating and cooling service provider for Ann Arbor.  I have had problems with some plumbing outlets in the past but Hutzel is first time right EVERYTIME.  They leave the work area clean as well.  Pricing reflects value, a smidge higher but you do not call multiple times for the same problem.

The shower valve in my bathroom got a leakage problem. And it did not allow me to change water temperature without changing the water flow. I went to their counter and the technician said it should be a simple fix. A Moen valve spline diagram was also explained to me on how the water temperature can be changed without impacting the water flow. After the service, leakage was fixed but the water temperature problem was the same. The same technician even told me that's the way it is. Later on, they sent me an invoice of more than $158 for 15 minutes service. I told them I'm willing to pay half of what they charged for the reason I described above. Of course they cashed the check right away but they keep sending me the bill with the other half plus the accumulated interest ignoring what I said in the letter. I will continue to fight and see who wins. Those who don't care the customers should be left out of business.

I would never use them again and I would not recommend them to anybody.

This company is just a scam. I had a problem in air conditioning unit of our store which is on the roof. A guy came to our store, went to the roof and checked the outdoor unit. He told me that there is no power in it and I need a electrician and left. About 10 days later, they charged me $231 (1.5 hrs x $124 & $45 trip charge). After discussion through phone, they offered to lower the work hour to 1 hour. So they charged me $169 for doing nothing!!! A few days later, an electricain came to our store and found a fuse was blown out. He replaced it and A/C is working now I hope everyone to stay away from Hutzel. They will just take your money without doing anything.

Our water heater was broke during the 4th of July weekend. My husband got a new water heater from Hutzel, and installed the water heater himself correctly. However, my husband couldn't start the water heater. He had to call Hutzel the following day, and they sent a guy to check it out at the same day. It turned out there was a trick to turn on the water heater. So, the guy was in and out our house less than 15 minutes for touching a few buttons. I asked the guy to estimated how much this trip will cost me. He thought a little bit and told me it's about $70. When I received the invoice 2 days ago I found out they charged me $98 with 0.5 hour of labor. I called the company, and the guy answered the phone asked me what time that guy arrived. How did I remember? Now I learn from this experience--always write down the time when the service person walks in and out of your house. They will charge more than what they should charge you. Believe me this company definitely will over charge you.
