In 2017, A1 Bargain Plumbing came to my house on a Sunday to fix a leaky toilet. So, it was a no brainer when I needed help with leaky faucets.
Cindy was professional in helping me schedule an appointment. Due to a major issue with a previous job, Ryan came out late in the day even though he was given the option of rescheduling. He was polite and professional. He donned a mask without hesitation when I explained I was at high risk for COVID-19. Ryan diagnosed the issues which included the need to purchase a replacement kitchen faucet. He offered to go purchase one for me and install it that evening. In the end, we agreed I would purchase the replacement faucet and call to schedule an appointment when I had it in hand. He even deferred the service charge to be paid upon his return visit. That day, Ryan earned a loyal customer.
When I called to scheduleetrytyt the appointment, I spoke with a man who failed to identify himself. I explained the situation. He asked if I had the faucet in my possession. I told him I did. He said he was looking at the schedule and it appeared there were no available appointments for quite some time. I informed him I was in no hurry. He confirmed my name and address and said, There are two. Then, he abruptly told me he had to look something up and would call me back. I thought he might be trying to fit me in sooner rather than later. Being short on time, I asked if he had the schedule in front of him intending to make an appointment further out to alleviate any pressure. The man cut me off mid sentence and harshly restated he would call me back then hung up. A few minutes later, I received a text informing me they, were gonna pass on the job. Confused and disappointed, I called back to request an explanation. The unidentified man told me I was pushy. I attempted to pay the service charge because Ryan had, in fact, diagnosed the problem. The man told me I was coming out ahead. Of course, I didn't share his assessment.
I recommend A1 Bargain Plumbing; however, I strongly suggest you ask for Cindy.
Update: Response to the response posted below.
Dear Sir,
Of course, you have the right to refuse service. On this, we both agree. However, I was neither insulting nor did I question your level of honesty. I was merely attempting to schedule a follow-up appointment. In fact, I was willing to wait until your business slowed down and it would be more convenient for your staff. You, however, were abrupt, rude, and dismissive. You refused my business without providing an adequate explanation. When I inquired directly, you stated, We don't have to take your business, When I inquired further, you stated, You're pushy. Following this shabby treatment, I still offered to pay the deferred service charge. Your response to my offer was, again, rude and dismissive.
You're correct. We both know what transpired. Unfortunately, the reviews indicate I'm not the only customer who you have treated poorly. Having said that, I still recommend A1 Bargain Plumbing with the caveat you not be involved in the scheduling process.
Respectfully,
Lynne McIntyre
