Stilwell was assigned to us by our home warranty company, HSA, for an electrical issue.  Our electrician arrived on time and immediately went to work fixing our problem.  He was polite, courteous, and explained what the issue was and how he was fixing it.  No problems with the front office or scheduling.  I'd do business with Stilwell again.

WARNING - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - Stillwell Plumbing got assigned by American Home Shield for 2 dripping faucets.  Customer service staff were incredibly rude and unprofessional when scheduling.  The technician that was sent on December 11th arrived intoxicated and smelled of strong liquor.  I had to open my windows to clear the smell after he left.

The cold water knob on my sink was dripping and needed a washer.  The technician told me the faucet was no good, though I purchased it brand new 2 years ago.  Then he said the screw was stripped and he could not remove the knob to install a washer.  Told me a whole new faucet was needed.  He then took apart my bathtub faucet knob which was dripping and said 2 new knobs were needed.  It now sprays water onto the bathroom floor when in use.

Four days have gone by and no contact has been made from this company.  According to AHS, the company never completed a report to authorize the repairs.  I plan to report this company to the Better Business Bureau if my faucets are not repaired by 12/18/19.  They have collected money and not completed the work.

I'm not happy to give this review as I truly care about the original owners I owe my immortality to them. However the new partial owner a guy named phil of all service plumbing has ruined this once christian company. They are no longer a christian company. The cussing and disgusting lewd sex talk that's rudely present in the ranks of this company is awful. I was baptized and will reach heaven thanks to the stilwells. To see such behavior mostly behind the owners back is awful. The presence of all service has wrecked this once example of good christian values my number is 4434187043 if anyone would like to directly contact me

terrible company. Run fast from them: 2 visits and they keep lying about my coverage. Almost like a game between them and AHS to see who can lie and deny you. They keep you on hold for 2 hours and claim to send someone. Still i get same lying Stillwell plumbers who know nothing about plumbing. Have not used my sink in 3 weeks and still trying to resolve it. unprofessional, liars, terrible company and receptionist screams like a banshee. Again I am on phone with AHS trying to get a new company assigned.

I will never use this company again. This company lacks communication and lacks regard for urgent matters. They have drug their feet on services but when asked about it, constantly uses excuses such as we will look into it tomorrow or it is on the list to be taken care of tomorrow. To date, the company has been paid in full for the service (their requirement) but has not completed the work. If not completed by the end of this week, a refund will be requested for the uncompleted work. Type of work to be completed is a pressure test on the gas line. Also, beware pricing. They will rake up the pricing once starting the job. They charge approximately $150 per hour. Don't let them give you a basic quote just to get in the door. Good luck if you choose to use this sorry company!

Update: Wish I could give this company zero stars. Called the company today to complete the job. All they have to do is put the piping back together. When they came out in May/June to start the work I sat and watched the plumber take apart the piping as needed to do his job. Tonight a plumber came out to put the fittings back as they were but was hesitant since he wasn't the original plumber that started the job (a trait that all three plumbers expressly portrayed). He tried to tell me that they never took the pipe apart. I explained that I sat and watch the action take place. The plumber fought me on what I seen then stated he doesn't know because he wasn't there. What since does it make to fight fact with opinion when you have an eye witness as opposed to what you think will defend your company.

He then proceeded to tell me it would cost me in parts and labor until they figure out what happened. What since does this make. The man came out, seen the company's equipment attached to the my pipes, removed the attached equipment from the pipes and then stated that they didn't take off fittings... well how did your company's caps and gauge get on the pipes... Anyways, once the plumber stopped fighting me on the situation and admitting that it is his opinion, he proceeded out the door with the companies materials and told me his boss was in church and couldn't speak to anyone til morning. I called the office and they stated that the boss was on a job in New Jersey. Honestly, this leads me to question the integrity of the company. Why lie about something as small as that. If you'll lie about that then you lie about anything.

This company is crooked in the worse way but claim they are a Christian company. I believe that's a hoax to get business from those that rather patronize a Christian company.

When the man finally left he had the audacity to tell me that there are thousands of hungry kids out there and I'm worried about this. What does that have to do with anything.

When I spoke to the lady in the office, she informed me that the owner will call me Monday morning. So now I have to wait two three days to hear from him regarding this matter... no gas means no heat, hot water, cooking etc. and to make matters worse, I'm losing rental income. Clearly this company is a giant hoax and doesn't care about it's clients. If not resolved by Monday, I will get my lawyer involved. This is ridiculous.

Stilwell put in a water heater January 2015. A gas leak was found by a profession about 9 days after the 1 yr warranty.  We called Stilwell emergency line immediately, we never got a call back, we called them back in the morning and was told by a very nasty and sarcastic young lady that its out of warranty so they will charge us a full service fee to check it out ( the same fee they would charge a new customer).  We had someone else come out and fix the gas leak (that was  in two places!)  And they also said there shouldn't be any rust on the top of the heater after one year.  We then went to the BBB and after filing our complaint this is Stilwell's unprofessional response.....

Water Heater installed on 1/9/15. County inspector arrived 1/14/15 and passed work. Customer has a 90 day warranty with their home warranty company on said work. Complaint filed on 1/27/16. 9 months out of warranty. Even if we go by our warranty of 1 year which we don't have to but being the responsible company we are the customer is still 18 days out of warranty. So the question is how long should a company extend its warranty for, 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year how about we all just live by what we agree to and take responsibilty for our

Addendum 2/19/16

This is Stiwell's unbelievably unprofessional response

'As i stated prior, this has nothing to do with us. Our warranty was over and we have no obligation to this customer at all.'

Be careful when you deal with this company's

Today i would like everyone to know how i feel about this company...

On the 22nd of January 2018 STILLWELL plumbing was dispatched to my parents home via American home shield warranty,  upon the technicians arrival a few days later the issue with the kitchen faucet was diagnosed as a bad cartridge and we were told that the part would be order and should arrive within a few days, a week later a different technician showed up WITHOUT THE PART (clearly it was not ordered) so he drove around town for a couple hours to find the part, only to return empty handed and left without fixing the faucet...when my mother called and spoke to a secretary at STILLWELL she lied about the part being ordered and was semi rude, a week later on February 6th two more different technicians showed up with the WRONG PART and said they couldnt fix it and had to order another part, when i stepped in and demanded to speak to a supervisor he refused and told me to call the secretary, upon calling stillwell the secretary refused to give me her name and hung up on me, when i demand to speak to a supervisor for the second time the technician stood up tall, puffed his chest out and threatened to leave without fixing the faucet so i promptly asked him to leave the property. I then ordered the part i needed (which had a lifetime warranty) and had the faucet fixed in less than 4 days. On February 14th i called stillwell to speak to the general manager, instead i spoke to dianne who told me dave was the gm and she transferred me off to christy who told me we are not wasting anymore time with you and then hung up on me. (If those are really their names). I will be reporting them to the bbb and i will speak to the owner of this company one way or the other!

I call them out through American home shield ! The young man came out , I knew that my door bell was covered under my contract ! The guy came took my old doorbell down , and when u told him I only needed him to put the ring doorbell on the cement wall ! He said it was not  covered ? But I knew it was covered ! He kept telling me he was trying to reach America home shield and could not get through,  so I asked him how much would he charge, he told me 225$ I had already paid 100 dollars for him to come out , now he left  and told the company that my other doorbell worked , but he lied , so they took my money for work this company did not do !

American Home Shield sent me this 1 star company to fix a leaking pipe.  Appointment was set for 12-4.  I had water leaking through my ceiling.  They called and changed the time to 4pm-8pm.  At 8:30pm, still no plumber.  No one answering the emergency number anymore.  Nothing!  Finally at 9pm, plumber shows up at my door.  Can't fix the problem and leaves.  If I could give zero starts, I would.  Please don't spend your day expecting to have a plumber come out as told to fix your problem.  Call someone else.  I am looking into a new warranty as well because they endorse this type of company.

BEWARE! STILLWELL PLUMBING LEADERSHIP DOES NOT GIVE ONE DAMN about their customers!  Don't take a chance; heed the negative reviews and pick another service. (Joe, Brant and office staff are great though:)
To start, I have no hot water...been playing Little House on the Prairie by boiling water for baths every day... Soooo, I was assigned to Stillwell through my home warranty company.  I got an auto-reply that someone would connect with me by X day (I don't want to lie; I don't remember).  I never got a call so a few days beyond that I called them. The woman I spoke with didn't apologize, but no worries, she was very pleasant and immediately started looking for an appointment. The next available was like a week out on a Tuesday...follow me from here... Concerned that would be cutting it close, I initially declined the appointment and said I'd  need to find another company who could come sooner - I was going on vacation that Saturday and didn't want to take the chance that after assessing the issue, having the actual work done would push me into the following week when I'd be gone. She assured me they could diagnose and get it fixed the same day. I asked if she was sure - told her everything I knew that needed to be done. She was wonderfully confident...told me they had the license on file (or something to that affect), the parts accessible, and the time. I was all in!  Tuesday comes and Joe, the tech (who was great) calls, gives me the diagnosis and price beyond the heater itself, and takes my credit card information. WHOO-HOO!  ...but then he calls back and tells me he can't do the job today because he has to leave for another job. WHAT?!?  I call Stillwell and someone tells me its because my warranty declined the job. Nope; not true. He would not have taken my credit card information if that was the case, and most importantly, I had just talked to my warranty company. The warranty company calls Stillwell and gets the real answer - they can't do it that day because I have a power vent heater they have to order....they can do it Friday:(  So I'm stuck at this point - can't call another company, so I accept the appointment hopeful nothing else could go wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
On Friday, after being here several hours, Brant (who is sooo hardworking and all around AWESOME) tells me he doesn't have a part...and can't get it until tomorrow - the day I leave for holiday at 6am. He's tried and tried and he can't make it happen. I'm livid, but repeatedly tell Brant I know its not his fault. He understands.  I ask him why they can't send one of their emergency techs out this evening. This wonderful guy calls the office and asks for me. He's told they can get someone out about 9 or 10 the next day - totally disregarding what he's told them about my vacation. When he tries again, Chrissy Stillwell (presumably of the Stillwell Plumbing family) asks to speak to me and immediately starts in...loudly advises its not her fault I'm going on vacation. What?W? Oh so now its on, lady. I told her I couldn't believe her tone and callous attitude about the situation...that I was going to blow them up on social media. She screams she's done with the conversation and tells me to make sure I call out her name in my review (My name is Chrissy; make sure you put that in there!) I'm going to let that digest...
No way she knew what had led to my frustration...and she didn't care to....and that's just sad and customer-unfriendly. What's true is that it is what it is and I'm pretty easy. A calm, understanding and apologetic tone wouldn't have the hot water on for my kids when they get home from camp after 7 weeks, but it would have made me feel like they cared. Pretend to scramble...treat me like I worked hard for the $800 you have for a job that remains unfinished. Act like you care about a household with kids and no hot water.
...and cut the Christian hold music; Christians are compassionate.

On 7/11/18, I reported a few plumbing issues to AHS. On 7/16/18, a Stilwell Plumbing representative showed up and, only after I showed him all the issues that I had reported, he told  me that he had only one issue on his work order (a stoppage issue), and that he could not fix it because he did not have a snake on his truck. Another issue was that once I turned a shower on I could not turn it off, the Stilwell representative could not figure it out how to shut it off either so he left it running and simply walked away from it. After several calls to get the issues straighten out and a plumber back to resolve all the issues, another Stilwell Plumbing representative showed up on 7/31/18. Out of four issues reported, two were fixed, and one denied on that visit. As to the issue left, the plumber said he needed to go to the store, get the price for the part, get AHS approval, and then return to fix the problem. He never returned to repair the problem.

The service technician was in a big hurry and did not check out the sump pump properly. I asked him why and he said that he had many service calls to make, which I don't see any reason to do that to a customer. He said that they charge $175 for a $25 permit to replace the sump pump. I told them that they are plumbers and should already have a license and permit to do this. This is a rip-off just to make extra money from AHS warranty customers to make up for their profits.

I called this company because I needed a drain unclogged in my house.
When the man came he saw water backing up in my tub so he put the rotary snake into a drain pipe under the bath room vanity.  He made such a mess with that smelly stuff that came off his equipment and splattered all under my sink vanity.  That didn't fix the problem so he said he would have to go under the crawl space to snake the pipe down there because he said he couldn't snake under the kitchen sink because it wouldn't work.  He told me he couldn't do it that day because he had an personal appointment to go to and they would come back tomorrow.  The next day a different person came and he said he would be able put the snake the kitchen drain pipe after all even though the first person couldn't do it because of his appointment.  The water backup was fixed but they charged me an additional $250.00 for having to come again the next day.  I paid $500 to clear a clogged drain.  And left with a mess from the first day.  I called the company but the woman didn't seem to care about me being ripped off because the first man had to leave  because of an appointment.  They used a christian logo on their ads but Beware of the Stilwell Plumbing  & Drain Cleaning Company!  :(

Dealing with Stilwell Plumbing has been a nightmare.  A technician replaced my sump pump and evidently didn't secure the pipes back.  I came home to a nothing short of a water explosion.  I immediately called my home warranty office.  They were called on a Friday...no one showed.  I was told that Stilwell would come on Saturday...no one came.  On Sunday, Stilwell was suppose to come between 2p-6p...no one came.  Stilwell called at 7:10p & stated they had bad news & wouldn't be coming.  This type if service is unacceptable & American Home Shield shouldn't use them as contractors.  It looks as if I'll have to use a work day fir something that should have been done over the weekend.  If something as simple as putting pipes together is that hard, I'd hate to really see how they would address a something more difficult.  I wouldn't recommend them to my worse enemy.

Avoid this business.  Did not fix our problem.  Called them back SAME day and asked for a return visit.  Could not accommodate us.   Told us rep would return next day. NO Show. We were also told a manager would call us.   Never happened.

WORST experience I've ever had with a contractor, and I'm out $1000 on my end after all of this!  This took over a month to resolve and multiple cancelled appts without my knowledge (NO COMMUNICATION)!  I was accused of badgering the staff by the manager when I attempted to find out when someone was going to come out to my house.  After 3 visits to my house it was something new and more money out of my pocket each time.  I felt like I was being taken advantage of and getting up-charged on every little thing.  In the end, the issues were not resolved and the work very poor.

I usually don't write reviews, but I have never experienced worse customer service in my life. Stilwell Plumbing was assigned by my home warranty company for a pipe leak. I contacted them immediately since the leak is causing my water meter to continue ticking up. The receptionist said my work order wasn't in so she would call me back. Next day, no call. I called again and she again said it wasn't in and would call me back. Days went by with no call. I reached back out to my warranty company and they said she would be calling me...still no call. Finally after calling multiple times a visit was scheduled. The plumber was extremely nice, but said he would call me the next day with an estimate. Guess what!? Nobody called! So I called them again and the same receptionist said she would call me back with the estimate because that plumber was off...that was four days ago and I have still not received a call. I can't believe this place is still in business with how they treat their customers.

DO NOT USE! They replaced the wax ring on one of my toilets. Upon replacing the toilet, the bolts in the tank began to leak all over my hardwood floors. I called the next day to tell them my floors were now damaged because of the leak. They did not take responsibility for the damage saying We didn't replace the bolts on the toilet. Well if you remove a toilet from the floor and put it back don't you think there is a possibility that it will jar the tank enough to start a leak. It really could have been a simple matter but their refusal to take responsibility for their mistake is mind-boggling.

Very disappointed with the work I had done. The first problem with this business is that I waited an entire day for someone to come. I was told that they would be here between 11-4 when in fact, 6pm rolled around, and they still hadn't showed up. Each time I called I was told that they are on their way. I finally had to tell them I'd reschedule. It was 6:30pm. I wish I hadn't. The technician also came late (4 hrs) on the 2nd (rescheduled) appointment. Ultimately, the problem was never fixed. I was told they put the snake down the drain pipe that was overflowing and that the problem may or may not be fixed. It wasn't, and continued to overflow that same day. I was still charged $275.00 for the work. I eventually found another plummer who came and fixed the job by using a high pressure water hose. I called Stilwell Plumbing and asked for a refund and was given the runaround. I was asked to submit the invoice from the plummer who did fix the job, which I did. I then drove to the city to personally drop off a copy of the invoice so that there wouldn't be any problems. They then called the plummer to verify that he did indeed come and fix the issue (and to make sure he was legit). After waiting 2 months for a credit to appear on my credit card statement, I had to call them back to inform them that I still had not seen any money credited back to my account. After several attempts to try and speak to someone, I eventually received a call back from a man who claimed he was the manager of the business and was credited just half ($137.50) of what I initially paid.!I will give that man this; he allowed me to vent (reasonably) and did not get rude or nasty over the phone. So thank you for that. However, I specifically chose this business to fix the plumbing issue at my home because their advertisement claimed that their work is guaranteed. However, they never fixed the problem to begin with. This company let me down. They simply lack good communication with their customers and make false promises. I do not recommend them!

Our home warranty company, American Home Shield, automatically assigned Stiwell Plumbing to my case, I requested that they send someone out that knows how to repair oil fired water heaters.  The plumber said that it could be repaired & when he came out to repair it the following week, the pipe broke off, so then he said the water heater would have to be replaced.  He also told us that it could be at least $700 more than the warranty co. would cover & could take up to 2 weeks to get a new one!!  As this was unacceptable, 10 days before Christmas, we pushed for them to move quicker & when the warranty Co. got the price they requested a 2nd opinion due to the exorbitant cost, which I was in agreement with.  Stilwell was charging $825 for modifications/code upgrades over & above the cost to replace it, which put the cost of the water heater at $3,790!!!  They were charging for the job & charging again with a 2nd charge calling it a modification, they did the same with the original scheduled repair.  Since AHS couldn't find another co. to fix it, the warranty co. allowed us the cash value or approved this company to fix it.  Some of what they called code upgrades were not code upgrades, they were wrong because I verified this with a county inspector.  We called another company at 3pm, they came out at 4:30 the same day & replaced it the next day for $1,000 less & none of the modifications were necessary.  I don't know if they were just double billing or the guy was just stupid, but either way, I will never use them again & I have spoken with others who have experienced the same thing, so I know I'm not alone.  What a shame.
