Don't let the name fool you. This is a local, third generation company, with the son and grandson as current owners.

We have had Nat'l Economy Plumbing come out several times. First because we had several leaky faucets when we moved into our new place. The biggest job was a complete reinstallation of the gas line to, and thoughout our house, which hadn't had gas in more than 40 years.

Every time, they've arrived on time and ready to work. They have been efficient and communicated well. Their work is exact and professional. We did have a small issue with the gas install, but they came back and quickly remedied the situation.

Called twice 2 days in a row. Both times spoke with someone who said I'll have the plumber call you ASAP. Been a week, no one ever called. I wouldn't depend on them for a normal project and DEFINITELY not for an emergency.

I have recently relocated to NOLA and bought a house. Last week, a leak developed under the kitchen sink. I checked out the WWW and Yellow Pages and called National Economy - I mean, who can object to national and, particularly for plumbers, economy. I called and they responded quickly. I asked how much it would cost and I was told it depended on the actual problem, but probably $125-$150.00. OK, fair enough. The guy arrived and within a few minutes figured out that the leak was emanating from the kitchen sink faucet and dripping down into the cabinet and onto the floor. He struggled a bit to unscrew the faucet as it probably hadn't been removed since the house was renovated in 2011, but after a few tries it came loose and he confirmed it was the washer. He left to go purchase a washer - a plumbing company doesn't carry an inventory of washers? - and returned 30 minutes or so later; installed the new washer; checked to make sure there weren't any other leaks; and, presented me a bill for $196.00. $196.00 to install a new washer! Beware.

Finding a trustworthy plumber who does quality work is easier said than done, especially in New Orleans. They have completed three jobs on my home and each time the work was completed on time and on budget. Prices are reasonable and the quality of work is excellent.

This review has nothing to do with his plumbing expertise but more his professional demeanor and behavior. He was able to figure out the issue with our clogged pipe. We did not use him to fix the issue because in the process of finding the problem with the pipe he went off on me about feminism and Black Lives Matter. I told him twice politely that we did not see things I die and he continued to speak to me in an aggressive and loud tone about his political beliefs. Eventually my husband called him so I had an excuse to get away. The next issue that I had with him was I was working in my home office as a mental health therapist, and he comes around the side entrance of our house. He never once rings the front door. He comes around the side entrance to our house and started banging on my office door. I had to leave my session get up and tell him that I was working, he continued to be aggressive and rude but left. I refuse to have any future contact with this individual. You do not go into someone's home and go off on your political beliefs. You also NEVER enter someone's property without permission and interrupt their work. Ring the front door.
