Best Businesses in Seattle, WA
This is a long review, which I recommend that you read all the way through, but I will summarize in one word: Outstanding!!!!
Now read on.
I'm a little late in getting to this review, but I can't let service this good go without a comment.
OK Here is the story:
I walked out to my basement shop to find a massive amount of water on the floor and worse it was rapidly heading toward the recently carpeted and renovated Media Room.
Having no idea what to do or who to call I did some fast searches and came across Alki Sewers reviews on Yelp. The great reviews and positive comments helped me to make up my mind and I gave them a call.
Phil answered the phone after a couple of rings and after listening to my description of what was going on said he would be right over. Right over was right!, Phil and one of his guys arrived just 10 minutes after our conversation.
------This is where it starts to get good------
Upon seeing the state of my basement, Phil and his guy lost no time in quickly building a barrier around the expanding water and with shop-vac and broom headed off the water before it could get get beyond my shop and in to the house. This all happened with such a sense of urgency that you would have thought it was his own house.
Once the immediate emergency had been dealt with, Phil walked around the basement, the shop and the outside of the house. He inspected my already existing sump basin and pump and asked me a lot of questions about prior issues with flooding and so forth. He also asked about how long I had been in the house and my plans for how long we would be there. I wasn't certain what all the questions had been for until Phil started to talk about what he suggested as a plan.
Phil explained to me in great detail what he saw as the cause of the flooding and further explained how it could be dealt with. He offered me a number of approaches and gave corresponding pricing to each approach. I was really impressed by Phil's obvious knowledge and experience. He was able to accurately size up the situation and quickly get to a solution. I opted for the higher end solution, which offered the greater piece of mind. Phil started work on the spot.
A couple of things to keep in mind - This was during Thanksgiving week when we had record rainfall and every contractor in town was working at capacity. From what I had been told there was even a certain amount of price gouging going on. Well not from Alki Sewer. The price I was quoted was not only fair, but outstanding given the circumstances.
So, work began. This was an extensive plan and involved opening up a large trench in my basement as well as a big hole in my side yard and another trench in my back yard.
Looking at all of the work that was going on gave me a sinking feeling. We had only been in the house for a couple of months and I was proud already of how great my yard and shop looked. As with everything else, I was impressed by how Phil and his crew paid close attention to leaving things not just as they found them but in a few cases, Better!! I could not believe how great everything looked when Phil and his crew finished the job. The shop was cleaned to a shine and the yard looked as if it has never been touched.
During the course of the job, Phil discovered that a couple of the pipes for my underground sprinkler system had been plumbed in incorrectly and that a drain in front of my garage had not been installed properly. Guess what. Phil fixed both of these issues for me without charge.
The moral of the story is that I have not had a drop of water in the basement since Phil completed the job. The work was done quickly and did not cost me a fortune.
I have always appreciated true professionals and I will always call out when someone goes above and beyond.
Phil and Alki Sewer do amazing work and act with honesty, integrity and true professionalism. I recommend Alki Sewer without hesitation and with the highest praise I know how to give.

Leon and his employee Shawn (hope I spelled that right) did an awesome job helping me with a bunch of jobs around the house. In one morning they fixed a stuck door lock, installed a new kitchen faucet, fixed two bathroom fans, helped get some outlets working, got my bathtub looking great by repairing the chipped porcelain, secured my dishwasher, and tightened bathroom sink handles! Bonus: Leon was able to schedule me in the week I contacted him and replied to all my messages very quickly. He is very professional, efficient, and charges a great rate. Would highly recommend!
12345 Lake City Way NE, Ste 152, Seattle, WA 98125
We hired Lake City Plumbing to repair a sewer line that had had a vulnerability in it, but had not yet caused problems. We undertook the repair as a cautionary measure. Lake City gave us the most competitive bid and then we checked their reviews on Yelp which were all positive. Now that the repair has been completed, I couldn't agree more with the past positive postings. Even though Lake City Plumbing ran into some unexpected complications, (including having to dig deeper and further back than anticipated), they remained true to their estimate and did not overcharge us. Bob explained the process as they went through the steps and they were very responsible about repairing the yard when they were done. The crew was polite and easy to work with. We can recommend them without reservation.

Helped us with a leak at the meter, and was able to quickly replace our line to the meter. Water pressure is great now, for the first time since we moved here!! We can actually turn on more than one water appliance at a time now! Previously if any one of the washer, dishwasher or shower were going, you could barely get a trickle out of the faucet. Now it's great! No more staggering chores due to water pressure!

Done Right lives up to its name and reputation. After receiving an outrageous estimate from our regular plumbing company, I contacted Done Right Plumbing, and Steve came out to our home to give an estimate on building an outdoor shower. He came out on a weekend, listened to our ideas, gave suggestions to improve some of the design and materials, and provided an estimate...which was much lower than the original bid. We scheduled the following Friday to have the outdoor shower built. Due to a little miscommunication on my part, we had to postpone the project, until the following Tuesday. Steve was completely accommodating, patient, and above all professional. He returned and had the shower built in only a couple of hours. The shower works great and we are so happy with the project. Completely recommend working with this company

I called Tom on Tuesday evening, and he was able to come out Wednesday morning! I am the happiest customer right now!!! I have been without a working shower since February 13th, and the plumbing company 2 sons plumbing have yet to come back and fix anything! It took Tom just 2 hours to fix things that to this day 2/27/20 2 sons was unable to fix! Tom is the friendliest, and most professional plumber I've ever come across! This guy definitely is the best at what he does!!! Very fair pricing! I would've gladly paid him more for coming to fix everything in such a short notice! I highly recommend Ace Works, and will be a loyal customer as long as I'm living in this state!!! Thank you so much Tom!!!

We have used Walt a number of times in the last 20 years. We put up with all his un-solicited political opinions because he did good work and was fair. This last time is the last time I will call him. He unplugged our main drain for $100 which was ok. I asked him to look at the bathroom sink drain. He said it was ok but charged me $100 dollars for doing nothing other than running a little water down the drain. This was a ripoff.

I was connected with Einstein Plumbing through ThumbTack. Einstein did an excellent job replacing my Master Bath sink fixtures. I struggled removing the old fittings for a couple days, a pile of tools and four trips to Lowes. Greg from Einstein showed up on time with a small bag of tools and had everything handled in 35 mins. A fully functioning Master Bath! After he left I did discover a very small leak. I called Einstein, Greg was contacted and her was back in minutes to retighten the pipe. I would easily use them again! Thanks Einstein...you made my day, my week!

I had Ryan plumb for a new tub, shower, and bathroom sink. He also installed a new toilet. Ryan always showed up when he said he would, was very good at communicating, very respectful of my home, and is HONEST. His installation was professionally done, and he cleaned up after each visit.
Ryan also installed a recirculation pump which produces instant hot water to the bathrooms that are located on the opposite side of the house where the hot water tank sits. This now saves us several gallons of water each time we turn on a faucet instead of waiting for the hot water to arrive.
I higher recommend Ryan for any of your plumbing needs.

I moved into my dad's condo and couldn't get hot water for more than five minutes. After checking the water heater, I learned it was just as old as me! Time for a new water heater!
As any other college student, money is tight so I called around to find the best rates and availability with the most experience; We Do Water Heaters fit the bill exactly. I got a smart water heater installed within the week for less than the big box stores were trying to charge. The gentlemen who showed up was quick and efficient with the installation, leaving the place as spotless as when he arrived. Next time I need help, I know exactly who to call.
Cost of a water heater: a few hundred dollars - Taking a long hot shower: priceless

When we had an emergency, when lots of folks were having problems after the first heavy rains. Robert and his son came right over. They were professional and helpful. As new home owners, they gave us several options that would not just fix the problem in the immediate but would help to prevent future problems. Prevention is better said Rob. They were great with our dog too. Only suggestion, have some of those slip on booties for your shoes when in the house! Otherwise, great job!! Will be calling them again, but hopefully not to soon ;-)

We had some water and dirt unexpectedly come into the house through a drain. I called five plumbers with great reviews on Yelp. One didn't go through, one rang but had a full voicemail box, I left messages with two but still haven't heard back a week later. The Pipe Doctor though - they answered right away, explained what they thought the issue was, gave an estimate for price, and came out to fix it the same day. They were nice, professional, explained what was going on, and gave us some tips to avoid the problem happening again. We will definitely use them again.

I hired Batgirl for annual backflow testing. Few highlights: quick response; prompt service; easy communication
17751 NE 90th St, Redmond, WA 98052
I had the great pleasure of running into Josh while he was in our area performing an annual backflow test for another customer. I mentioned that we had had difficulty scheduling a time with an approved contractor during the City's mandated window for inspection, but had not yet tried 5-Star Backflow. Josh mentioned he had an opening and would be able to swing by our home later in the day.
He dropped by, performed our test rapidly, and gave some recommendations on some questions we have with our current system. His experience, professionalism, and willingness to rapidly help out a new customer were both incredibly appreciated and speak volumes.
It's always a pleasure to find folks that take personal pride in their business. Josh could have been anyone on the team, a tech, a new hire, a foreman, etc. I looked his business up later and was happy to see 5-Star is family owned and operated by Josh's family.
When it comes to backflow testing and expertise it'll be an easy choice for me to give 5-Star Backflow a call in the future.

The tech that came out was very skillful and knowledgeable. He was able to locate our problem in our sewer line, it was dug up and fixed in the same day. Everything was cleaned up and working perfectly. Great company with a very professional staff from start to finish. I definitely recommend them!

Michael's Handyman Services is fantastic! They're quick and affordable, I will definitely be reaching out for our next project!

Needed the internals of toilet tank replaced. Due to busy storm weekend, arrived two hours later than appointed time frame. Gabe and his trainer were professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Job was completed expeditiously. I was given the option of refusing the service based on the estimate for repairs. This was my third appointment with them, the others cancelled due to weather, so time was of the essence. My only concern is their prices are exorbitant. I had two recent similar but more complex jobs completed in condominiums in Seattle and Robison's work was double the cost. This was even with being given a senior discount. In fairness they guarantee their work for two years. Even though I found Gabe's work, demeanor and knowledge great, I probably would try another plumbing service next time due to their cost scale. I realize he has to charge what the business owners demand. Just too expensive for me. If I hadn't been under stress to get the job done, I would have refused service. Again Gabe and his helper were great.

We had an extremely complicated boiler job that we needed help with. We tried multiple different companies till we came access Todd and his team of specialists.
I had a pretty trouble some boiler that we were dealing with for quite some time. They were able to get me on the schedule very quickly. When they came out, they had to do some diagnosing but once it was pin pointed, they got on the repair very quickly.
It's a been a few months now and the issues has not returned! I can't thank them enough for finally fixing the issue we had spend so much money on prior trying to fix!
Thanks Team Allred!

Never showed up. I set up an appointment with the plumber to meet me the next morning and he never showed up or even called to cancel.
I guess that wasn't unexpected. When I called to set-up the appointment, I was greeted with a simple hello?. Not very professional.
