Best Businesses in Texas
Too many things have gone wrong with Tom Mcnutt. His work ethic and professionalism are less than desirable. I wouldn't recommend the to anyone. I hear he has had a lot negative change in his personal life that effecting his work.

Yelp's localization does a disservice to contractors since the best of the best probably don't live in your immediate neighborhood.
John Henshaw and his crew qualify as the best of the best. Plus, he's a master electrician. (see tiny.cc/jhenshaw)
Now, let's be honest, We all want the most for our pennies and we may think that hiring a handyman to install simple things like fans make economic sense. Think again. Hiring a licensed electrician is not that much more (Last i checked Henshaw Electric charged $150 per fan; the half-wit handyman I hired through craigslist charged $100 per fan. SInce I had to get Henshaw to re-hang said fan it actually cost me $250), He also grounded all the plugs in & around my computer and installed a surge suppressor in the electric box to safeguard all my stuff.
And yes, a licensed guy will charge a few bucks more but they are worth every penny. I can sleep at night knowing my fan or stove or whatever isn't going to burst into flames.

Ramon Umana and his crew are professionals. I am completely satisfied with this recent work: replace regular duplex receptacles with tamper resistant receptacles at dining, living and upstairs bedrooms; relocate fan switch in bathroom, add switch in attic, add receptacle in attic, replace switches in upstairs compute closet, bathroom and outside laundry; add gfci receptacle at kitchen; install disconnect for water heater; install gfci at outside back door and inside and outside laundry room. Whew!

Double Diamond was a pleasure to deal with. Billie Vaughn does top notch work and I will use him anytime I get the opportunity. Highly recommended.

Came out, and gave me a very fair estimate on running a commercial 240V line, great service found a solution

Very quick turnaround with great quality. Ben was very professional and helpful.

Quick response. Showed up when they said they would. Found the problem and fixed it. Also, cheaper diagnostic fee than others in the area. Can't ask for much more than that.

So happy to have found Hensley Electric. I had a problem with a fuse that wouldn't set. He fixed the problem, and all is well. Don't hesitate to call Hensley.

I have used Rubio Electric many times and consistently gotten great customer service. It's run very professionally. I always get a quick callback from the owner, Justin, and he always gets over to help quickly. He is polite, follows up to make sure everything is ok, cleans up, sends a clear, professional invoice, and has never failed to do anything but excellent work. I recently needed some work and not only did he promise a start time, I got a confirmation phone call and text confirming it. This time two of his employees came. They confirmed their arrival, were polite, clean, extra helpful, gave me additional clear instructions for what I needed to do, and were very nice and friendly - and professional - to deal with. If only more contractors could do the same. Justin and his team installed Ring devices (some walls had to be opened up), and did other interior work. I will always use and recommend them in the future.

Shane was great and really worked within my budget. I had his guys add some outdoor electrical outlets, fans, and more. They Ensured it was water tight, used good materials and followed code. I appreciate the hard work his guys did, they were here until 8:30PM to ensure they completed the job, and did it right! I'll be using Murphy's electric again.

I called this business and the gentleman (not sure if he's the owner or staff member) immediately answered. Unfortunately, he sounded as if he were obviously busy which is fine but it felt as if I was bothering him. We decided that he would come out at his convenience which would be the following week. I thought about the call, our conversation and how I felt. I began searching for another electrician or handyman. The call was made and the interaction was the complete opposite of my previous experience. I scheduled an appointment for the next day and immediately called the gentleman respectfully to cancel my appointment. I didn't get an answer so I proceeded to send a text message but I never received a callback or follow up. He should've at least returned my call or text to inquire about why I was canceling and then offer an apology. That never happened.

Very promptly replied to my yelp query. (One other company said they could not come out until the middle of next week!) Power was off to half my house. Luis was able to come out same day, within 2 hours. He was able to verify that the problem was that one hot leg leading to my main breaker was down, which means the utility company had to fix it. He even offered to cut my price since there wasn't much for him to do. He also spent some extra time looking up the rules for me on the utility company's responsibilities so I knew that I wouldn't have to pay for fixing the line. Much appreciated!

Awesome company that's knowledgable and friendly. They'll definitely get you going where you need to start, and remain professional and very efficient. Their reputation will speak for itself. Not enough people give a great review, but I had to make sure people knew about my 5 star experience. Summary: Friendly, professional, good rates, and efficient/quick.

I used to use John Henshaw exclusively years ago. He helps me fix up the wiring in my old apartment just enough so that my computers were protected. I was sad to see he'd moved on to focus on commercial projects and happy for him that he is doing so well at it.

Had a GFI outlet than needed replacing for an outdoor fountain. Called Friday morning and an electrician was out around noon- and they called to say he was on the way. Good customer service, polite schedulers and nice/quick service. Only thing may have been the set price. $238 to come out and replace the GFI unit which took all of 10minutes.

Tried to reach the company for 1 week, left numerous messages when their phones were working . Never received a call back.
If they can't even answer their phones, I doubt they can complete a job properly and if you had trouble you would never be able to reach them.
DO NOT USE.

This poor old guy really should just stop and enjoy his retirement. I would be surprised if his license is current. REALLY SURPRISED! and VERY DISAPPOINTED in the licensing procedure & requirements.
Our experience was EXACTLY as everyone has said! We used this company because our Realtor recommended him! (Someone didn't do her due diligence!!!)
THERE WAS NOTHING PROFESSIONAL ABOUT ANY OF MY ENCOUNTERS WITH CHARLIE.
I had sent 3 emails explaining that we wanted a quote on some items picked up during the home inspection on a property we are in the option period to buy. I asked in bold letters whether the quote was free or whether the fee would be applied towards the work. He never replied to any of my emails. He had trouble finding the first one, which is why I sent & re-sent the same information. He asked me to email him so he'd have all the details in writing. I attached the inspection report each time.
When I reached him by phone Thursday afternoon, he thought he could come out the next day. He never called. When I called him Saturday, he thought he might be able to make it, but didn't. He was very hard to pin down on time, so I sent him an email saying that we'd go ahead with his suggestion of meeting on Sunday afternoon at 2pm, and I wrote in bold letters that he should contact us if his plans changed. He left me a message at noon saying that he'd need to push the job back a bit. I called back at 1pm and left a message. He never called back. When I reached him at 2:15, he was out to dinner with his family. We releashed the Realtor's assistant, waiting at the house since 2pm.
Our option period ends tonight at midnight. Charlie and his right hand man finally showed up -- late -- this afternoon and bumbled around for hours. There is a very entertaining video of them taking forever to replace a GFCI outlet with the power on! It's as though neither of them had never seen -- or worked with -- live current before! (Charlie claims he is a master electrician!)
Despite my list of items, which included checking a light over the stairs, Charlie showed up without any ladders or extension grippers and was wearing casual attire, not work clothes.
When the bumbling finally ended, Charlie claimed he had conducted an inspection. He had not, and he had not been asked to. His bill was $450, and all he had done -- literally, all he had done -- was 1) call out the color of the recessed light canister in the ceiling (our Realtor's assistant knew silver canisters were OK against insulation, but Charlie didn't), 2) entertain us by replacing that GFCI outlet and 3) change that light bulb over the stairs by use of some creative acrobatics. I wrote him a check for $250, and he left disgusted. I think he got off easy! I should have called the cops on him for representing himself to be an electrician!
